This is a beautiful story of Faith. Though this is a Christian themed but most important is every children should be taught to keep faith, when in trouble.

This is the story which is inside one another story. Whole story of Faith was narrated by a Father to his daughter on asking why the hill upfront their home called a 'Faith Hill'?

There were two towns parted by this hill titled 'Faith Hill', Reidsville & Shiloh. Both were so different in that season of winter from when this story was narrated. Former was full of bloom and richness whereas the latter one was affected by drought. People of the town didn't even get a single tree left of Frazer Fir (wrongly mentioned as 'Frazier' on page #20, editorial/formatting mistake) to celebrate their cultural trait of Christmas.
Three boys Elijah, Joey & Yankee from the Shiloh decided to bring one tree from Reidsville by hiding as the mayor of the Reidsville denied everyone from his town to help anyone from Shiloh. Same way 3 boys from Reidsville decided to gift one tree to the people of Shiloh, by hiding, so that no one left to celebrate on that occasion even in other town. Among those 3 boys the leader was mayor's own son Caleb & his other 2 friends Bobby & Chris.
On their way to each other's side they got lost under blizzard. Their they met a mystery man Joshua who came out of nowhere and save them from the stormy night. He gave them a seed to sow, up the hill. Later that morning they found Joshua nowhere and found by the search from Shiloh leading by their Sheriff, Drucker.
On that night of Christmas when Caleb at the gathering told people to come for help against new law set in place by his Mayor father and do not just stay put on the matter of Christ's day, they all left for Shiloh to celebrate together. At that point when boys were in competition to make snowmen, Joey saw and indicated all to look up the hill for the most beautiful tree they had seen ever.

Hence the Story narrated on faith. Later, when Stephanie was gifted the box by her father the same which he told her Joshua given the seed inside of it, she got confused and amazed at the same moment. He told her that her father was the boy 'Yankee', nicknamed by his friends, instead of Dan which is his official name.

I really liked the story content as there was so much to read and enjoy. I have read few reviews where logical reasons were given on how one side of Mountain is full and other one is void of anything. TRUE. But, I would like to say that such stories never work on logical reasonings, as these all have been made up and not real facts. 'Believing the facts' and 'keeping the faith on something made-up' are 2 both different things. Logically it could easily be nullified but moral stories are mainly made-up to pass the message of positivity and not to settle scores with what actually happened on earth; In that case, even the whole concept went down, dumped below the surface. Because as it has already been made point in one of my earlier picture-books by Katie Anderson, Holly Holiday and the Christmas Forest that cutting of Trees, be it for festivities or in the name of uncertified culture, must be stopped and found ways to keep the nature in her proper place. (my reviews from the book)

Merry Christmas!! in Advance to all, especially Dan Petronelli & his family.
Thanks!!

NetGalley has provided me a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are exclusively my own.

This feels like the type of story a mother or father would read to the whole family while snuggling up with blankets in front of the fire. It’s super cute, super cozy and full of Christmas tradition. Don’t forget that the illustrations are absolutely beautiful as well.

This book teaches so many lessons that I’m sure are intended for children, but I feel like these lessons target the adults just as much. It’s the children in this story that the adults need to take a few notes from. Don’t be selfish. Don’t be greedy. Look after your neighbors. Be like Caleb. Caleb is a leader. He cares about Christmas, and he cares about people. It sounds cheesy, but this story shows readers (and other characters) the true meaning of Christmas. It’s always a great reminder.

This story definitely gives me polar express vibes with the heavy snow, hot chocolate, and a tiny bit of magic. There is plenty of action for children while getting its message across at the same time.

I don’t think I have any complaints about it. It’s a bit predictable, but what do you expect with a children’s book? My heart smiled throughout the entire read, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. It’s adorable. I highly recommend to anyone wanting a short, family friendly holiday story.

This heartwarming children’s story has a powerful faith message for all ages. It helps readers to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and on God’s desire for us all to show His love to others. The main characters in the novel are a trio of boys who experience quite a winter adventure in the snow and cold. The tale has an old-fashioned feel along with lovely illustrations spread throughout the pages. I found it a bit confusing when the dad was called Dan (his first name) rather than just being referred to as Dad, especially since this is a children’s book. The intriguing drama would make a good family or classroom read-aloud, with plenty to discuss about the boys’ choices and situations. It is short enough to read in one sitting and could become a perennial favorite to read together each Christmas season. I could see it as a play to act out too. All opinions are my own.

What a cute and sweet read for the kiddos! This would make a perfect Christmassy read-aloud or would be great for upper elementary students (there are some pretty big vocab words). This may make a nice Christmas read-aloud in my future classroom, actually, because it doesn’t necessarily have faith content, per say… but rather themes about making sacrifices for others, and believing in miracles.

The plot is basic and a little cheesy, but I think kids would really enjoy it. And, of course, the connection between the two plots at the end was super cute. I wish we got a little more time with Stephanie at the end, but still, it was lovely.

What more can I say? There’s a snow storm on a mountain, Christmas tree magic, and a helpful man named Joshua who perhaps… never existed? Two cities come together and learn to love each other despite the rules keeping them apart.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

The Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle” is such a beautiful story! It intertwines themes of faith, generosity, and the true spirit of Christmas. The story is structured as a father sharing a past Christmas miracle with his daughter, which adds an element of warmth and nostalgia. With a central message of keeping the faith during challenging times, it offers a valuable lesson for young readers.

Set against the backdrop of a small mountain village suffering from a drought, the story unfolds with two groups of boys on a secret mission to bring a Christmas tree to their neighbors. An impending blizzard adds suspense on their risky adventure.

The story communicates timeless values of courage, kindness, and faith, and the sentimental illustrations add to the story’s charm. It’s an uplifting story for the Christmas season told with heart and charm.

This is a great book to read at Christmas time with your family. I loved how the story centers around faith and working together. It reminds of the scripture in the Bible of “ having faith like a mustard seed.” Boys from both sides of the mountain work together to bring a special gift to the town. When they get lost in a snow storm, someone very special rescues them. The miracle they witness all those years ago, is still shared today. What a wonderful way to show children about being brave and trusting God. I enjoyed the illustrations and thought it enhanced the story.

I liked how the leader of the group was the mayor’s son who wanted to do the right thing. He didn’t agree with his father on a law he passed and decided to do what his heart was telling him was right. It is a good example of how brave these boys were and shares what the true meaning of Christmas is.

This is a quick, heartwarming holiday read that celebrates the true meanings of Christmas, namely Christ's birth and the performance of service in His name. The story is warm, sweet, and uplifting. It's a quick, faith-promoting tale that teaches lessons about kindness, sacrifice, faith, forgiveness, and love. Emily Pritchett's illustrations are especially well done. They add warmth and depth to the story. Honestly, they're my favorite part of this book.

Unfortunately, Petronelli's writing feels stilted and flat. His prose leans heavily on telling instead of showing. The dialogue also sounds unnatural. The author is a pastor and you can tell because in a lot of ways the book feels more like a sermon than a story. I don't mind an inspirational tale, especially at Christmas, but this one lands a little too heavily on the preachy side.

The Seed of Faith is a wonderful children's book filled with wonder and faith.

A father explains the inspiring story of Faith Hill and how three brave boys from Reidsville went to set things right by giving their town a special gift for the village square. There are lots of magical miracles taking place and the story reminds us about love and helping others.

The message in the book came across well and will warm the adult's heart, as well as, being a magical tale that youngsters will enjoy. The illustrations are well done and depict the story well.
Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful story to read during the Christmas season. The lessons of having faith, sharing your blessings and loving your neighbor are presented well in story form. The illustrations are wonderful. I read it in digital form and the formats are great. This heart warming book would be a good one to make part of family Christmas traditions, especially since the adventures within it are experienced by children.

A meaningful story for all ages featuring a group of children who share an unforgettable holiday experience . . .

This Christmas story is perfect for reading together as a family, church group, youth group, or as a bedtime story to be read throughout the year. The narrative is engaging and will appeal to boys and girls from age six to twelve. Middle-grade students may enjoy reading the book to their younger siblings.

Many themes are covered in the book. The themes of obeying your parents, contributing to your community, kindness, sharing, and respect may open discussions between members of different generations as youngsters look for guidance in their lives.

The illustrations by Emily Pritchett were a highlight in my enjoyment of this book. The expressive faces of the characters along with the picturesque scenery she shared were exceptional in my opinion. I believe her artwork will enhance the messages in this book for everyone who reads or hears the story.

The faith message is strong, well-written, and age appropriate. The book is completely clean in language and content. There are some surprises revealed at the end of the story which readers of all ages will enjoy!

I received a copy of this book from the author through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my opinions and thoughts shared here are solely my own.

Between 4-5 stars, rounding up. Nice story combined with nice illustrations, would make a very nice faith based Christmas present for young readers.

I’m a Godparent for a 5 and 7 year old (and their parents don’t take them to church). In my opinion this is a perfect gift for them … and I plan to purchase a copy. It is perfect and shows the love between communities and brings faith into the story without being “too preachy”. It is a nice balance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Walnut Ridge Publishing for approving my request to read the “advance read copy” of The Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle. (Even though it was first published Oct 2021.)

A father tells a story to his young daughter that had taken place forty years before. On Christmas Eve, the small mountain village of Shiloh is suffering from a severe drought. In addition to not having water for their crops and livestock, the people have no Christmas trees. However, a town on the other side of the mountain, Reidsville, has plenty of water and Christmas trees, but the selfish mayor refuses to allow anyone to share with Shiloh. Two groups of young boys, one from Shiloh and the other from Reidsville, one of the latter the mayor’s son, independently hatch secret plans to climb over the mountain and see that Shiloh has a beautiful, living Christmas tree.

Unfortunately, what the boys do not know is that a fearsome blizzard is on its way. Can they survive the snowstorm? Does Shiloh ever get a Christmas tree? And what will Mayor Reid of Reidsville have to say about his own son’s involvement in the plot? This parable of faith vividly illustrates the importance of having courage in the most challenging moments in life and knowing that God is by one’s side. The book was a winner in the 2021 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards, receiving a Gold in the category of Religion/Spirituality. It certainly deserves the honor and may well become an enduring Christmas classic.

The Seed of Faith - A Christmas Miracle by Dan Petronelli is a story for the whole family. While it takes place at Christmas, it is a story of faith, generosity, and doing what is right. These are themes for anytime of the year. The lovely expressive illustrations add so much to the story too. This would be the drawing card for child who are starting to read novel. While the text s a page long it is not difficult and there is an illustration on almost every other page.

While there is not mention of angels in this book I could not help but think of the song, Angels Among Us. I am not ashamed to say that my eyes teared up a time or two while reading this Christmas tale. I can only imagine how worried I would have been as a parent of one of those boys.

Lastly the little reveal at the end was the icing on the cake in a story that was already more than wonderful. This truly is a timeless tale of faith. A story that a family could share in a few nights every year before Christmas. A perfect holiday gift.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

A Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle by Daniel Petronelli combines Religion and spirituality, Holiday celebrations, Children’s Chapter Books, Inspirational stories, and Action and adventure. With incredible illustrations and an excellent storyline, this book drew me in immediately. A father tells his young daughter the story of two different boys who set out to bring a Christmas tree to Shiloh.

Lost in a blizzard, both groups of boys are rescued by the same man. Through this experience, they discover Christmas’s true meaning and share it with their communities.

One small seed brings faith to life. This book is an ideal Christmas read, sharing a message of faith with all who listen.

If you seek a book that combines Religion and spirituality, Holiday Celebration, Children’s Chapter Book, Inspirational stories, and Action and adventure, consider reading A Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle by Daniel Petronelli.

"Dad, why do they call this mountain Faith Hill? I overheard some people in town saying something about a miracle. They said that something very special happened, but they didn't say what. Do you know what happened? Do you know the story?"

This story is primarily a flashback to an earlier time when two mountain towns were not in agreement. One was struggling with drought, and the other did not want to share its water source. Boys in each community decide to take some quiet action to help the situation. The end result is a miracle of reconciliation that came about through the gift of faith.

What I liked about the book ...
This is a story that reflects the true meaning of Christmas. The nativity story is a part of the narrative. But more of the focus is on having faith in the midst of struggles. Being a good neighbor is also an important message. Since children play a prevalent role in the plot, this would be a great family read-aloud. With shorter chapters, one could read it over several nights or even finish in one setting if there is a captive audience.

The illustrations are beautiful. They add to the timeless feeling of the tale. This expands the audience because younger ones who are accustomed to reading picture books will appreciate the illustrations. I am glad that I have the hardcover book because I do think the pictures play a pivotal role in telling the story.

What distracted me in this book was the fact that we were introduced to several characters in the first chapter that were never seen again. The beginning is slower and does not draw a reader into the story. Once the narrator stars the story, the plot becomes more interesting. The author mentions that he wrote this story for his family. Maybe the first chapter connects to them. 4.5 stars

I was provided with a copy of this book for a tour. I wanted to read and review it. All opinions are my own.

Meet Stephanie a bright and charming 10-year-old who is excited about preparing for the Christmas celebration. Her family lives in a cabin in Shiloh. On this Christmas eve, Stephanie is getting a cup of cocoa and a blanket to join dad for a moment before the town's celebration. Her sister, Jessica, is preparing for her first date to the Annual Christmas Eve Celebration on Faith Hill. Her mother is baking the blueberry pie for the evening's gathering. Everyone is feeling joyous anticipation and for a brief moment in time, Stephanie and her dad are enjoying a quiet time together.

With cocoa in hand, Stephanie asks her dad how the mountain became Faith Hill. And so, the story unfolds...

Two towns, six boys, and a Nor'easter blizzard. Forty years ago, Shiloh had "suffered" a devastating drought into winter. On Christmas Eve there arose two decisive plans in bringing a Christmas tree of hope to the town of Shiloh. The result of that evening became known as the "True meaning of Christmas." Seeds of faith were planted within the hearts of both towns (Joshua 1:9).

This Christmas tale is wonderous story of giving and helping others. The masterful storytelling about Faith Hill and it's two townships is woven with a purity within a period of time that has gotten lost in today's commercialized celebrations of Christmas. This novella is a perfect read-aloud for all ages. The journey of the boys, the town's committed search, and the message of hope is felt in those moments on Faith Hill in the bitter cold. The glory of the quest becomes the lesson of those who experienced the true meaning of Christmas.

Create a new Christmas tradition... bake a blueberry pie... make hot cocoa... gather some quilts... and settle in for a "read-aloud" moment in time...
Blessings to all,

I almost didn’t read this book after requesting it because I struggled to get it downloaded onto something other than my laptop computer. I then decided that it was not very long, and I could stand the uncomfortable way of reading it but after reading a bit past the first chapter I have to admit I was not very impressed with the writing. It seemed clunky and unnatural to me. I also had a bit of an intellectual battle with the description of how “strangely” the leeward side of the local mountain was in drought while the other side got plenty of rain. I admit, I am a bit too much of a realist about some things. My faith, though, kept me reading and I am very glad that it did! The story of the Christmas miracle that occurred in these fictional towns was absolutely beautiful. The tale was especially so because it involved the faith of six young boys. I will not write any more about the story itself so as not to spoil the wonderful book. I will just comment that the illustrations were lovely, soft-colored, and realistic, and I enjoyed that there were so many of them. The book is perfect for young readers. It is a chapter book, but the chapters are short, vocabulary quite simple and there are illustrations nearly every other page. It would be a shame to miss the chance to share reading this book together as a family, though. I look forward to reading this book again during the holiday season. Thank you to NetGalley, Daniel Petronelli and Walnut Ridge Publishing Company for the ARC of the book. My review is my own opinion.

Daniel Petronelli’s The Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle is a Christmas story of faith and hope. A drought has plagued the little town of Shiloh. There is no water, and there are no Christmas trees, and the villagers don’t know which one is worse. A spirited group of boys takes it upon themselves to sneak over the mountain to the town on the other side. They plan to take home a Christmas tree, but a terrible blizzard interrupts up their plan. Stuck in the blizzard, the boys find themselves panicking. A mysterious figure soon appears and gives them a helping hand. His help becomes significant for the whole village in ways they never expected.

The book is well-written with fun page borders and pleasing illustrations that add depth to the storytelling. It’s a heartwarming story--exactly the kind you’d want to read with children around the Christmas season. It speaks about God and about how faith can be found in even the most trying moments. Its wholesome content makes this a must-read for families.

The Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle is a high-quality children's book with a narrative that embodies the essence of Christmas. It's a story that reminds us of the importance of faith, hope, and kindness during the holiday season. Its combination of well-crafted storytelling, engaging illustrations, and a meaningful message makes it special. This children's book is a delightful addition to any Christmas reading list. The Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle is a wonderful gift for children and adults alike, spreading the joy and magic of Christmas throughout its pages.

Christmas is my favorite time of year and I love Christmas books. Daniel Petronelli tells a beautiful story about a Christmas miracle, about caring for others, and about hearts changed. The Seed of Faith is a frame tale of sorts - it is a story that a father tells to his daughter on a cold Christmas Eve.
The thing that surprised me a bit about the story is that the characters did not decorate until Christmas Eve. I’ve heard of not decorating the tree until Christmas Eve but this family decorated the outside of the house on Christmas Eve - just a little different from my experience.
Emily Pritchett’s illustrations will take readers back forty years, or more, to the time of the story being told. They compliment the text well.
The story is well-written although I did wonder what the point of the older sister was in the story since she only appeared in the opening scene and then goes off with friends. The mom is also present in the opening of the book but doesn’t appear much after that. Maybe I’m just old fashioned but it also disturbs me to have parents called by their first names in a book for children. I would have thought it more appropriate to use Mom and Dad to refer to them in the text rather than their first names.
The Seed of Faith would be a good addition to the Christmas collection of a K-12 Christian school library. It could be a read-aloud for younger students or older elementary students and middle school students could read it for themselves.
I received a complimentary copy of The Seed of Faith: a Christmas miracle. This is my honest review.

On Christmas Eve a father tells his daughter a story of why their village and the neighbouring village always celebrate Christmas together. Forty years previously, one village was gripped by a drought which meant that no Christmas trees were able to grow. Meanwhile, in the neighbouring village, the mayor had ordered everyone to guard what they had and nor share anything. Three boys from each village decided to do something about this and set out to give/collect a Christmas tree for the village. They met at the top of the mountain in a fierce storm and witnessed something miraculous.

This story is about sharing the gifts we have in abundance and not being greedy. The author briefly mentions Jesus as the true meaning of Christmas. The boys meet a mysterious character called Joshua at the mountain summit, who may be a reincarnation of Jesus but we are left wondering about this.

If you’re looking for a story about sharing, this would be a good one. Although the story is set at Christmas time, I didn’t think it was a particularly Christmassy story. Whilst not a picture book, the illustrations are detailed and helped bring the story to life.

If you want to see why this book has won so many awards, you'll definitely want to buy this story book. The book (hardback) is so beautifully constructed that I was instantly eager to see what was inside. The pages have an unusual edging that tells you that this is no ordinary book. The illustrations are of the highest quality, and your child will sense the magic.

The story is a lovely Christmas miracle story involving two towns, separated by a huge mountain range. Young boys on one side want to take a Christmas tree to the other town, ravaged by drought. Three boys on the other side try to climb over the mountain to get a Christmas tree for their dreary town.

The terrible snow storm puts all the boys in danger. They are saved by a kind mountain man who takes them to his cabin with a warm fireplace. He presents them with a seed which they plant outside. When they wake to the sounds of their rescuers, they are laying on top of the snow.

Where is the kind stranger? Where is the warm cabin? Was it all a dream?

It's easy to love an award-winning book, but this one is truly special. The Christian theme of the seed of faith is wonderfully told, and I can't wait to read this every year with my grandchildren.

I really LOVE a Christmas Themed book, especially for Children. I was really excited to be able to read a new one. The Seed of Faith: A Christmas Miracle by Daniel Petronelli is the latest book that I have read.

WOW, a truly enjoyable book from the very first page. I LOVED the narration from Father to Daughter of a story from 40yrs ago. The story is one of Helping others and Giving is Better then receiving. I truly believe it is better to give then receive and to see the 3 Young boys go above and beyond to help others is truly heartwarming. The book would make a GREAT Read Along for Families during the holiday season or anytime of year. The book is great for kids who are just getting into chapter books. The book is one of Faith, knowing that God will provide even in the toughest times, and one that shows a great message during the holiday season. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for Families and New Readers. GREAT BOOK!

This is a thoughtful Christmas story that promotes the positive values of friendship; compassion that leads to caring for others; and unselfishness. It’s a shorter book (62 pages), and it’s the type of story that a family or a class might like to share during the Christmas season.

I liked the loyalty and friendship that existed between the boys. There’s a mild element of suspense as the boys brave a winter storm in their quest to be a blessing to others. There are events in the story that might be described as a “Christmas miracle” that add an element of mystery. There’s a thread of faith that weaves throughout this book which includes a brief mention of the birth of Jesus. I enjoyed reading this sweet story because of the positive values it promotes. This book is illustrated and I thought the illustrations added much to the book.

The Seed of Faith is the first book I have read written by Daniel Petronelli. This book is a Christmas treasure. When I saw it, I knew it would be a book to add to my Christmas book treasury, a book to be read over and over again to my children. I look forward to sharing this story with my kids this Christmas. Though this is Christmas-themed, it could be enjoyed any time of year.
This story was heartwarming and cozy. Full of Lessons of faith, sharing with others, loving your neighbors, and the true meaning of Christmas. This was a story told by a father to a daughter about what happened to him on Faith Hill. It is a story that can be enjoyed by all ages.

"During our most challenging moments in life...when we face our darkest storms, our worst trials, it can be very scary. But that is where we can find our deepest level of faith."

What first caught my attention with this book was the breathtaking illustrations and the cozy layout. It took me back to listening to my mother’s soft voice while she read cozy Christmas stories to me as a child. The overall message is timely, and the illustrations are a unique and beautiful touch, giving vision to a story that shows the power of faith in a small, sweet package.

While I no longer have young children in my own home, I do have little kids in my family that I know would love this simple yet touching story.

A heartwarming story, perfect to share with the whole family at Christmastime.

Engaging and told in a straightforward and simple style, with a format that is great for young chapter book readers or would be great as a read aloud for the whole family. I also really enjoyed the accompanying illustrations that complimented the story well in their style and details. I appreciated the message of faith, and love for your fellow neighbor at Christmastime, which makes for a heartwarming read.

I liked the themes of faith in hard times, as well as giving at Christmas time through the eyes of children. A wonderful story to share with your family during the holidays.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
