The #1 bestseller. Standalone no cliffhanger! I thought I was safe, hacking the Russian Mafia from thousands of miles away...then Alexei kicks down my door and puts a gun to my head. But when he looks into my eyes, he can’t pull the trigger...and the way he gazes at me makes me weak.
Now we’re on the run together and his bosses want both of us dead. Our only chance is to work together, hitman and hacker, to figure out what they're trying to cover up. But every time his hand brushes mine, I'm thinking about him slamming me up against the wall. Every time he looks at me, it feels as if my clothes are burning right off my body. He says he's beyond redemption but I've glimpsed the man inside, the part of him he tries to hide. He's the only one who can save me...and I might be the only one who can save him.
Standalone bad boy romantic suspense with HEA, no cheating.
Jeez, I was a bit disappointed with this one NOT much but a little bit. I loved the previous books that I have read by this author and and that was the reason I jumped into this without much thinking.
I was familiar with the author's writing style and this book delivered that pretty good BUT what I found lacking is the credibility.
The characters were not on the same level as I was used to reading in her books, so that was a blow. I found kinda "unbelievable" that the female character who suffered a physical and emotional trauma as a child and now she still holds on to that notion that kinda cripples her for a normal functioning life (she's afraid of open spaces, people, she's closed of and feels safe in her apartment etc) all of a sudden gets completely "naked" in front of strangers (and extremely dangerous people, above all) on several occasions...(no matter the circumstances, motivation, reasons, whatever!) That was just...like what?! What?! a huge question mark? Now, that is some therapy!!! Huh?!
The "attraction" at first sight that later grew into love, strangely worked for me here and I was ok with that. I truly liked the anti-hero Alexei (he's a professional killer for the Russian mafia) turned hero (he breaks his ties with the mafia in the end - even that was kinda stretched, cause you don't leave mafia, well, except in a body bag) in this story - he was this "old school broody cruel killer and I also liked the action as I usualy do in Helena's books, altought here it was all somehow a little bit "rushed".
i even liked the "old-new" conflicts between them two, she's a hacker and he has an old model of a mobile phone... LOL
BUT it just wasn't enough for me to give it a higer rating!
Whew!!!! what an adrenaline rush. This entire read had my heart pumping every-time when gunshots were going off and when Alexei sizzled the pages with badass awesomeness. This story sneakily stole my heart. It has all the right elements to make it a pure bratva romance complete with love and betrayal and hair raising action sequences. The theme of the book is so cliche that i almost did not opt for reading it but then i would have been a completely dumb bitch to pass off this incredibly awesome book. Can you feel my excitement now??? so just imagine what you will go through when you read this book and experience all the hair raising badassness and the red hot romance all in one.
Gabriella is a hacker and her entire world is her apartment. She is an online vigilante trying to expose and stop human traffickers. She believes herself to be safe behind her monitor but her whole life goes berserk when she collides with a man who is gorgeous as sin and with an equally sexy accent. Alexei is a hitman working for the Bratva and his latest mission is to kill a hacker who is trying to steal their money. His cool and calm personality goes haywire when he runs into Gabriella. So imagine his surprise when he finds out that Gabriella is his mission. He is royally screwed when he realizes he is crazy enough for this girl to betray the Bratva and thus signing off his own death warrant.
Thus starts our tale of flying bullets and two of Bratva's most wanted on the run trying to get out of this enormous mess, ALIVE. As i said earlier, the theme has been used before numerous times, so i definitely had my doubts but the author has spin this story with such ruthless precision that i fell for it hard.
The plot progresses at a break neck speed. Alexei and Gabriella are running from the mafia and also trying to figure a way out of it. Together they follow clues which leads them into more dangerous situations again and again. In middle of all of this, we read about Alexei and Gabriella's escalating attraction towards each other and its culmination into mirror fogging steamy romps in junkyards (yes!!! U heard that right) and in a tiny plane lavatory (cliche but i loved it!!!). The sizzling and ever present chemistry between Alexei and Gabriella was just too hot to handle. there is some push and pull in the beginning which cranks up the anticipation sky high and then when they finally succumb to their passions, they just completely lit up the pages.
The story line is perfectly peppered with action and passion. The underlying story involving the mafia and the conspiracy felt very plausible and real with perfectly timed action sequences. Alexei and Gabriella are running for their lives and the author never lets us forget it for a single moment. There are car chases, drive byes, bomb explosions, impromptu surgery and even train chasing. It does not get any better than this. Most importantly the character build up was nicely done. Gabriella is sweet and smart with a hurtful past who is also loyal and loves Alexei even through all the danger. She is resourceful and proves to be a very quick study in chocking Russian thugs. Alexei is a big, bad Russian killing machine whose one weakness is the girl he loves and trying his utmost to keep her safe. He dreams of a normal future with Gabi but is filled with self doubt. His love and fierce passion for Gabriella will just sweep you off your feet. He is perfect and i loved him so much. Besides them, all the other characters including the other Bratva members and Gabriella's hacker friend just added on the charm of the entire read. they made the book come alive for me. the entire read felt like a movie going on in front of my eyes and i must say that this book would make one hell of a mafia movie. So a shout out to any producers reading this, Please give this amazing book a try.
This read has been a 5 star experience for me and one of the best mafia romances i have ever read. Loved it completely!!!
Danger, action and a passionate romance between a naive but strong heroine and a sexy Russian killer turned hopeless lover makes this read a heady cocktail of pure adrenaline and pleasure which will leave you with a buzz like no other.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
P.S. Ms. Newbury please write one book about Konstantin Dulyev. He is just too fine and sexy to pass off. He would make an extremely badass addition to your KISSING series.
Gabriella is an agoraphobic hacker using her tech super powers for good. This is how she finds Alexei the Russian mafia enforcer at her door. Love at first sight between a hitman, and his target meant for destruction is the most unlikely meet-cute in existence. It sure makes for a wonderful story to one day tell their friends. Maybe the combination of his street knowledge and her tech savvy can manage to help them stay alive to make that happen.
Alexei is an ice cold alpha, my favorite type of Russian bad boy. It means more to me when this type softens only for their woman. Though Gabriella has the requisite New Adult damage that drives me bonkers, being both smart and beautiful helped to trump the irk factor. I really enjoyed the way this heroine navigated being thrown into the chaos of being on the run. This couple’s attraction was instantaneous, but the romance also built at a believable pace.
If you love the criminal elements mixed with your romance, you should give this book a try. Though it’s part of series, this book can be read as a standalone.
*I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It was okay. Some part were very good while others were okay. The characters were good. I loved the premise - actually it is one of those premises I seek out most. There was just something missing to make it an epic story for me.
Alexei is hired to kill hacker, Gabriella. Gabriella is a hermit. She had something tragic happen to her when she was younger and since then has preferred to stay inside. Alexei meets (bumps into) Gabriella and when he realizes she is the one he was hired to kill (assassinate), he can't go through it. Since he failed his mission, the Bratva is out to kill him. The Bratva has been his family and even though it is hard for him to leave them, he can't kill Gabriella. However, as time goes by, Alexei and Gabriella come to find out that there is a lot more going on and there were other reasons the leader wanted Gabriella killed.
There is suspense and romance. Even though it was inst-love, it worked in this book. I wish the switch in POVs was less frequent. I think it killed some of the suspense for me.
Overall Opinion: This was an enjoyable read. I often have issues with suspenseful romances because I don't feel the connection between the characters, and I think that might've happened here as well. I understood the strong connection, but not necessarily the progression to love (and for the H it was pretty instant). I also didn't connect with Alexei. I have connected with the bad guy type Heroes before, so I don't think that was the problem. With all that and the abrupt HFN ending, I don't think I can give it more than 3 stars.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Gabriella and Alexei's story. They literally bump into each other in a coffee shop, and the sparks fly instantly. Gabriella gets spooked and runs away. They meet again when Alexei finds out that she is the hacker he's looking for and his next hit (he's a hired gun for the Russian bratva in Moscow). This poses as a it problem since he couldn't go through with it, and now he became a wanted man as well. They go on the run together, have some close calls with the bad guys, get steamy, develop stronger feelings for each other, have some more suspenseful moments...and eventually get their HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between Gabriella and Alexei's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Ok. Kind of an abrupt ending (and it ended at 57% on my kindle app), but otherwise it had a good flow to it where I didn't skim.
Instalove: For Alexei, yes. For Gabriella, I'd say it grows into love.
H rating: 3 stars. Alexei. I liked how he was so protective of her, but otherwise I didn't get that connected to his character.
h rating: 4 stars. Gabriella. I liked her. She was kind of a mess when we first meet her, but she grows into a strong character.
Sadness level: Low. Even though this does have some heavy subjects I didn't need any tissues.
Heat level: Moderate. They have some steamy chemistry, but not too much to take away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Yes.
Safe sex:Yes, the use of condoms is mentioned.
OW/OM drama: No
Sex scene with OW or OM:
Cheating:
Possible Triggers:
Closure: Some closure with a cute epilogue, but not nearly enough for me. A HFN ending at most.
How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.
Hm. For me it was so-so. Some parts were good, some were great, some were ridiculous, some were utterly unreal and some were just boring. And though I like books with some steamy scenes, the attraction and passion must be palpable. I want to feel it. But here, I found there was too much sex and H and h appeared more like two horny rabbits, totally tuning out the danger they were in, although they were aware of it. I mean, they were on the run from the Bratva and a lot of other dangerous guys who all first shoot before ask questions, but of course the couple has enough time for sex nearly every time they made a stop. I found this rather dumb and not really authentic. Nobody would act like that in such a situation. Maybe this was the main reason I couldn't connect with the characters. The hero was ok. He was supposed to be an ice-cold killer but made mistake after mistake, which you normally wouldn't expect from a professional assassin even if he is distracted by newly discovered feelings for a woman. He turned out to be too soft, and I don't mean a positive softness (sorry I can't describe it better in English). He had some anger issues and outbreaks of violence (never towards h), but I found his temper tantrums were more like a child stomping with his foot after his favorite toy was broken. I believe the author meant for him to appear protective, but I didn't feel it. The heroine was supposed to have anxiety issues due to a traumatic situation in her childhood but her behavior didn't match. Sometimes she appeared weak and afraid of her own shadow, then suddenly she was strong and like a wannabe kickass Lara Croft, but then she did something immature or acted like a whiny spoiled brat. It felt like the author couldn't decide how her character should be like. All in all I would give 3 stars. Too bad, because the concept of the story was good.
When Russian Bratva hit man Alexei is assigned to kill a hacker, he never thought it would be a woman and not a man. Faced with a moral dilemma, he decides to do the one thing he vowed never to do…Turn on his Bratva! Now on the run together, can Gabriella and Alexei take down the very people hunting them down? This is a nonstop action mafia romance. I really loved these two characters together. The book flows well and really keeps your interest until the very end. Told in dual POV
While I struggled a little in the beginning getting into this story, I ended up enjoying it. The suspense/action was good. The MCs were ok, but neither were awesome - hence my mediocre rating. The H was fatalistic for far too long. Not a big fan of pushing away. The heroine was pretty solid but a little too much of a savior complex for me. He had to change. I would have preferred she accept him for who he was.
This is another winner from Helena Newbury. I absolutely love Alexei. Great storytelling, this book is full of suspense, right to the very end. Helena Newbury has become on of my go to authors, as every book I’ve read so far has delivered the goods.
Kissing My Killer is my favorite Helena Newbury book to date. I love it more than even Lying and Kissing (which was fabulous and you need to read asap, but back to the matter at hand).
Character breakdown:
Alexei, the Sexy Russian mafia enforcer. Yeah, I want an Alexei for my birthday. This Hero is powerful, sexy, predatory (in many ways), mulit-dimensional, broken (the best kind of hero IMO), and protective. I was blown away with his development throughout the entire book. Newbury hit the nail firmly on the head when she created this guy. I felt every single one of his emotions, I cheered for him, I wept for him, I wanted to scream at him... no matter what was going on, I was connected to Alexei on a deep level.
Gabriella, the timid hacker. I. Love. This. Woman. Gabriella has awesome techie skills I would kill for, and while her past (and parts of her present) are heartbreaking, Newbury constantly pushes this character to overcome obstacle after obstacle (many of them being herself). Every snippet we get regarding Gabriella's history left me fearful of the big reveal, but holy hell... I was not prepared. I cried. Well, on the inside, I'm not very teary outwardly. But crap! It was HUGE!!!!
Plot breakdown: Enforcer is sent to kill hacker. Insta-love (and not the cheesy BS kind) makes that impossible. They end up on the run.
That's all you're gettin' from me.
Nitty-gritty, down and dirty...
Kissing My Killer is my favorite Helena Newbury book to date. Sexy accents, daring heroics, well developed and written story-line, and characters you cannot help but root for make this a must read.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Kissing My Killer by Helena Newbury (Audio Edition) Narrated by Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers
♥ ♥ So I picked up this book because I REALLY enjoyed the last book I read by this author (Punching and Kissing) and this one had gotten even better reviews! Apparently I do not like what everyone else likes. I am not into this much sex in a book. If they weren’t actually doing it, they were thinking it, or planning it or even sometimes it felt like setting up scenes in the book to have the scenario of sex be the only option… Don’t get me wrong.. Sex in books is good but I didn’t feel the chemistry between Gabriella and Alexi which made their interactions less passionate and more just... sex. Also Gabriella seemed to not know herself and she was aroused by things she didn’t seem to want or like… but then did them anyway.. why? I asked myself.. To please Alexi? Or is she actually wanting to try this stuff..but she’s just hesitant? That part bothered me. I admit I started skipping through the last few sex scenes.
The plot of the story was decent and I think maybe had I not felt weighed down by all the sex I would have enjoyed the story more. I really dislike giving negative reviews, but I will be a bit more selective when reading the next Newbury.. Cause like I said.. Her other book was really great! This is part of the “Kissing series” but they do not seemed to be linked, at least not to the one I read.
The narrators both did a wonderful job. Probably the only reason I finished the book as quick as I did.
I love, love, love hitmen/bratva romances. And this one was an awesome addition. I liked Alexei. How he was so cold, ruthless, all about the job. But all it took was just one look at Gabriella. I liked how that ice melted; how he put up a small fight, but then readily admitted his feelings. I loved how he was so protective. I loved Gabriella's character. She was interesting, and had a tragic past. But she was a great character. Good balance to Alexei. The suspense part, trying to figure out what was going on was interesting. It wasn't predictable at all, and I liked that. This story was very good, and I definitely will be reading more by this author.
My only complaint is that I wish their pasts had been a little more detailed. But that in no way took away from the story.
I already liked the first one in this loosely connected series Lying and Kissing and I like this one just as well. I don't know why. In real life I'd be way too scared, but in a book? Bring it on!
Okay, so this was cheesy with repetitive descriptions, plus the whole "hot morally grey guy helps girl overcome trauma" plot that we've seen before. But did I still like it? Yeah. Can't help myself. The whole escaping from the Russian mob with a sexy assassin thing is my kinda storyline. Might have to go back and see what book 1 has got going on.
I'm speechless. I've just finished this story and I'm still asking myself, did I just read that?
Kissing my Killer is a standalone story, but the fourth in her Kissing books, which I can't wait to read now. From the very first line you are totally captivated and utterly hooked.
"I met her on my way to kill someone".
You see what I mean? Just there, she's got you and what follows is a story so clever, so well structured and brilliantly written. In Kissing my Killer we meet Alexei and Gabriella, two completely different characters who couldn't come from more completely different worlds and lifestyles. However destiny has set the wheels in motion for them to be thrown into the mix, you know they saying six degrees of separation? Well suddenly their worlds are not that far apart. Both Alexei and Gabriella are damaged, they each have their own demons, but where Alexei has been fighting his, Gabriella has locked herself as far away from hers, literally. When life puts them face to face with one another the pull is so strong is like they have found the missing piece in their puzzles. But Alexei's world is a dangerous one and Gabriella never imagined herself being in the middle of it all.
Alexei only knows one way of living, as part of the Russian Bratva, a powerful Mafia organisation, he has killed many of the organisation enemies in order to survive, this has giving him a purpose and has made him into the man he is now, someone with no room for a happy future, but for him the Bratva is all he knows, it's his family, he has never once waver on his tasks or questioned the orders he has received, and he has a reputation for being ruthless and committed, that is until he sees Gabriella. Gabriella in return is such an innocent soul, events from her past haunt her till this day, unable to move forward she has found a way of living and coping the best she can, extremely bright she has found a way to occupy her time doing something that she thinks has no consequence, never in a million years she thought danger was lurking and was about to knock at her door putting her in a situation where she will have to face her fears.
This book is like nothing I have read before, it had me in a constant state of excitement, the plot is explosive and so cleverly constructed plus there's plenty of sexual energy to shock you and enthral you. Kissing my Killer, Is a complete page turner, you would want to devour the book like me in one go. There are some situations where you want to scream, others make you squirm and many will leave you simply breathless.
Helena Newbury has written the perfect story for all fans of a good romance, but also for those who appreciate a great suspenseful book.

Helena Newbury has written the perfect story for all fans of a good romance, but also for those who appreciate a great suspenseful book.
I knew I was going to love this book from the first line of the first chapter narrated by Alexei: ‘I met her on my way to kill someone.’ When I finished chapter one and Alexei says ‘I didn’t know it then, but nothing would ever be the same again.’ I knew I was hooked. I’d continue reading impatiently until I reached the last line.
There are 90 short chapters narrated alternately by Alexei and Gabriella, in the first person. Both characters tell us exactly what they’re thinking and feeling, which makes the reader feel part of their story and their lives. First person narrators get under the character’s skin and into the reader’s head in a direct and powerful way.
The main characters are perfectly portrayed. I felt I knew them both from the beginning. Clever, warm and kind Gabriella, struggling bravely to overcome her own demons, and fearsome Alexei, the unfeeling, killing machine who gradually discovers that life is not black and white, because choices and changes are possible. There’s an instant and powerful connection between them, which is drawn out carefully as the chemistry unfolds almost burning your kindle!
The plot is well planned and fast paced with plenty of action and twists, which kept me turning pages. We are immersed in the workings of the Russian mafia, meeting an array of cruel and powerful gangsters involved in lucrative and illegal trade, including human trafficking. We also rush around New York city, visiting seedy motels, diners, as well as ships and luxurious parties. We’ll also travel to Russia, where the plot is finally wrapped up.
Alexei and Gabriella found themselves in dead-end situations more than once. It seemed as if there was no way out for them, but of course, it’s a standalone romance, so it’s no secret to let you know that there’s a happy ending and no cliff-hanger. However the journey towards the awaited end is absolutely thrilling.
I’m not surprised it has 4.8 average on 72 reviews. It has been number 1 bestseller on Amazon.com and is currently number 2 in Organised Crime. And it was published three weeks ago!
I loved it! I can’t wait to read the next ‘kissing’ novel.
I loved this book. It has a scorching hot man who falls for the woman he has been sent to kill. Alexei doesn't know what hit him when he meets Gabriella in a coffee shop where he stopped to get a cup of coffee to use as a prop to make him less conspicuous when he enters the building to kill a man who is hacking his boss. Or at least he thought it was a man he came to kill. When he discovers it is the woman from the coffee shop he can't bring himself to kill her. This causes him a whole new set of problems, since his boss is now out to kill them both. Alexei doesn't understand what has happened to his well-ordered world, and Gabriella knows how he feels. She hasn't been out of her apartment building in a really long time, the outside world is not for her. Oops. The chemistry between the two is instantaneous, and the sex will require you to fan yourself it is so hot. I love all of Helena's books. This one brings in some characters from previous books, but if you haven't read them you will not feel like you missed something. I advise you to read them all! Now I have to sit and wait for the next one, bummer. I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. (I read this as an ebook.)
The job was simple. Find the target and eliminate the threat. Love was never an option. Alexei was good at what he does. Emotions never got in the way. All of that changed when he bumps into Gabriella. He needs to focus on his assignment. Take out the hacker. Alexei's world spins out of control. His target is the woman he can't get out of his mind. He's torn between duty and desire. Gabriella is a master hacker. She feels more comfortable with computers than the outside world. While away from her desk she meets a mystery man that she can't get out of her mind. Little did she know how her life will drastically change. Alexei and Gabriella are drawn to each other from the moment they met. The heat between them makes the air sizzle. Gabriella has uncovered a conspiracy within a Russian crime family and the only one that can keep her alive is Alexei. To keep them alive Alexei has betrayed the people that he considered family. Will Gabriella and Alexei expose the truth or will it be too late? Alexei and Gabriella are two halves of the same coin. She makes him want to be a better man. He helps her deal with her fear of the outside world. Together they're strong, separate they are vulnerable.
Wow, just wow!!! This time I am really impressed...
I know, I am repeating myself, but after reading books like this one, I feel like I am getting totally addicted to Your books Helena!
It never gets boring and there happens constantly something unexpected.
The thrilling actions and the very hot moments or should I say actions....are my absolutely favorties! ;-).
This book definitely has everything it needs to have and more ... from one side, it is brutal, unacceptable and cruel, for other gentle, loving, quiet and romantic.
We’ve an innocent, but not really so innocent woman and a bad boy, that is not as bad as he is supposed to be.
I think the mix between the harsh reality and the soft, romantic scenes makes the book so good.
Definitely a book that you should read. It's worth it.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.
I really liked this story. All the books I have read by Helena Newbury have a great balance of darkness and light, and this one was no different. I liked Gabriella and Alexei's story. I was intrigued by it the moment I read the book title!! (Great job on that, by the way! Definitely draws a reader in.) I liked Alexei, he was sexy. I liked Gabriella, too, but I kind of felt like she was missing something here and there. Together, I think they were great and I enjoyed their little adventure. I also loved seeing some familiar faces! One of the things I really enjoy about Helena Newbury's books is the element of surprise, you never quite know what to expect. She's not predictable, at all!
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. We have a Russian Bratva hitman, Alexei, sent to kill an American hacker whose broken into his boss's system. But to his surprise, the hacker is a young women, Gabrielle, and Alexei finds himself totally enraptured with her, even before he realises she's the one he's supposed to kill ! And she's feeling pretty much the same - there's real chemistry between them & Alexei is overwhelmed by the sight & feel of Gabrielle. Helena Newbury writes tense, erotic thrillers as well as she does love stories & Kissing My Killer was an exciting read, full of twists & turns, with some of the hottest scenes I've read in awhile. This is definitely a must read.
this is not my 1st book by Helena. Love her style of writing. love this quote: "honeysuckle. My grandmother used to grow it in her garden. And some strawberry-scented soap and, beneath it all, the smell of a woman: warm and sexual and calming on a level beyond all the other senses." For me, it brought back memories as a kid looking up at my Mom putting on her high heels and stockings. those were the days when Mom would wear high heels ... they were the fashion. I love how books and writing draw on past memories ... the scent of honeysuckle ...we would find that in the summer, late spring and eat it like crazy kids ... loved this read. Must read. ( ;
With saying that, yes this book is very addicting and will have you forgetting time as you lose yourself in this well written fast paced novel! Enjoyed every minute!
I really enjoyed this story by Helena Newbury this audiobook was perfectly read by Christian Fox and Lucy Rivers. They performed the characters so well I was captivated by their voice acting skills.,,Christian Fox is one of my favourite narrators and he always does an excellent job. Lucy Rivers complimented him perfectly, and I loved listening to them both. I think this is my favourite Helena Newbury story so far ,having only listened to 3 other books by her,I enjoyed this the most. Alexi and Gabriella are total opposites but together they are a great team. Alexi is a part of the Bratva the Russian Mafia an assassin,a killer and he has been assigned to kill a hacker who knows too much about his bosses buisness. He is surprised when he realises that his mark is a beautiful woman aka Gabriella the woman he had just run into at a coffee shop...And instead of killing her he saves her life...Now his boss wants them both dead. Gabriella is a skilled Hacker who uses her talents for the greater good, she didn't expect someone would want to kill her..Especially the gorgeous man she collided with this morning. Events occur and Alexi and Gabriella end up on the run together both being hunted by The Russian Mafia and The Russian equivalent to the FBI.. I really liked Gabriella she was a nerdy girl and had many hang ups she is basically a hermit and never goes out..She overcomes so many fears and phobias on the run..and she is so much braver than I would have been. Alexi is your typical ice cold killer he doesn't care about anyone he is programmed to just kill and leave, except when he meets Gabriella something shifts inside him and he only wants to protect her. I felt bad for him because everything he new about the Bratva and his boss was turning out to be a lie. This is a real adventure as they both dodge danger at every turn, exploring eachother and falling in love.Their attraction to eachother is pretty hard to contain and soon it explodes in a blast of passion and they discover a whole new side to one another. Kissing My Killer is a Fantastic listen and it was so captivating and I enjoyed every minute of it. Brilliant. 5 Stars.
This book was pretty good.. we had some action, drama, romance some hacking and train fights!! We have enforcer Alexei doing a job for his boss kill a hacker who has hacked them before he can he meets Gabrielle at a coffee shop when they bumped into one another.. only one word spoken.. already wanting her he tries to forget her until he sees her again in the apartment he has to the hacker in.. thinking shes the gf of the hacker.. then finds out shes not.. things get messy fast when he betrays the Bravta for her.. tons of drama and bullets and russian guys.. plus we get a hint of a new guy and book (I've read the burb the double) from the rival Bravta...
The one thing i wish happened... the man who sexual assulted Gabby at age 8 was found so Alexei could kill him.. yes i wanted that death lol NO 8 YEAR OLD SHOULD HAVE THAT HAPPEN TO THEM!!! Lord let me tell you... hot and heavy car sex in the rain 🔥💦💦💦
Angst, no cheating, no ow/om drama, mentions of past sexual assault, secondary charats (from past books) drama idk if ill read the other books..from the hints of there charas (they deem meh) why it isn't a 5 star.. it was kinda to long..

I read this book on a friends recommendation (this one specifically - I haven’t read the 3 books preceding this in the series) and it was my first dive into mafia romance.
Gabriella is a hacker who finds herself on the hit list of a Russian Mafia operation. A vigilante, she never expected to find herself face to face with the consequences of pissing off the wrong people.
Enter - Alexei. He’s a mafia hit man, a veteran of the no-holds-bar Russian military, and he straight up has no emotions - locks that shit down. Until her. One accidental bump in the coffee shop below Gabriella’s apartment, and they’re both goners. Unfortunately, that means the mafia bosses are on their tail, and they’re coming for blood.
Overall, I’m not mad. This book demonstrated decent character depth and development. The plot was solid throughout - bc there was one other than the romance. Plot and romance go hand in hand here. I will say, I’m not a huge fan of insta-love, and that was the name of this game. I know I have 0 experience with a mafia of any kind, but I would assume most of this isn’t even in even the realm of realistic. It is fiction though, I suppose.
Probably isn’t my jam, but still a fun ride! (And the spice? On point my friends)
