Helpful Hal shows Sam and Sue the importance of helping their parents by doing chores such as hanging up clothes, washing the car, and feeding the cat. Includes a related Bible verse.
This was a favorite book as a child! Even into my teens. It is written in verse and fun to read. It also inspired me to become a better person. This and The Phantom Tollbooth (movie) were always strong motivators for me to get up and accomplish something.
I found this book to be quite unique. It isn’t very often you find a book told from the parents perspective instead of the kids. I gave this book 4 stars because it was funny, clever and a I believe that students would enjoy reading this.
Written in the fashion of rhyming words at the end of each sentence, this book helps parents to educate children about helpfulness and its importance. I like the fact that the book gives young reader concrete ways to exhibit helpfulness in his home.
