Ridley despises Christmas and wants nothing more than to hibernate in her house and ride out the holiday. But her s***heads have other plans. They're determined to show her the magic of twinkly lights, carols, tinsel, and snowmen built out of sand.
Thankfully, a marvel with weather manipulation powers begins causing problems, and Maddox and the guys are tasked to handle it. They have to find this pretend Santa and make him stop the winter wonderland before it kills someone.
Especially when they realize the snow and ice are something more than a Christmas prank.
An expert in parkour, Helene Gadot moonlights as a Nail Polish Namer and occasional ghostwriter. She lives with her husband and trio of rugrats in the South. Helene has a serious coffee mug and throw pillow addiction, and when she isn't reading or writing, she's probably shopping online.
This one is a bit of a role reversal. Ridley hates Christmas, and Cormac is basically trying to become Father Christmas. The banter in here was great, they build really well of each other, and the relationship progression was on point. Well worth the read.
This is a sweet, holiday novella in the land of Aces and Knaves. For such a short length, the story is action packed, but doesn’t feel rushed or forced. I find a lot of authors struggle to do that, but this author has done it really well. The story is a great mix of action and character development. In particular we get to see more with Cormac and Ridley, which we don’t get to see a lot of. We also saw a bit more of Beckett and Reese, and Maddox took a little of a backseat in this one, without actually being left out of the story. It was a brilliant, quick read in this series. It was fun and entertaining, and I’m still looking forward to the next book.
They really need a 'gave up part way through' tag on Goodreads. I totally love the idea of this series. I just really really struggle with the characters. I don't like them, any of them. I was kind of hoping in this book there would be something redeeming about them. But nope. The guys are forever pouting, Ridley is never not abrasive. I have no idea what the guys see in her, and I honestly have no idea what she sees in the guys - being 'hot' is not enough of a reason for relationships to develop.
however my tolerance of the snarky behaviour and convos are getting to me. what started off as banter i enjoyed in book one is quickly getting annoying.
in this book ridley hates christmas bec of her abusive father cool got it. however why ruin other ppls joy? for someone who cares about ppl so mch to the point she risks her life for strangers she sure does suck the joy out things.
This was a nice embellishment of the story so far however, there are a number of typos throughout, and also Chapter 2 seems to have the same scene repeated twice in what looks like a copy and paste incident.
I read the trilogy version and this was included. I think my fav relationship of hers is here with Mac and for me the novella was a lot about them. I loved her exacting her revenge on poor mac. A lighted bit of fun.
Fun Christmas novella. So good! Interesting and had my complete attention. I loved the characters.. I enjoyed the will they won't they.. the angst is high. I flew through this book and on to the next. A must read. Highly recommended.
