Rate this book
Selected Essays of Perarignar Dr.C.N. Annadurai written for the Homeland Magazine (1957-1960)Perarignar Anna was one of the greatest intellectual, Tamil civilization has ever seen. He was a litterateur par excellence, perhaps unmatched, in contemporary Tamilnadu. He was a prolific writer and speaker who touched upon an eclectic range of topics from classical Tamil literature to International polity. He has given so much of ideas, principles, solution, and views in everything under the sun from Nation, Ethnicity, Language, Religion, Politics, Education, Justice, Socialism, Public life, Society, Reservation, right to self-determination struggles, vision, and rationalism which is a foundation for all of this. Although all of them have been available in many books and volumes, this “ Dream of a Democrat” is a new initiative which contains articles written for the magazine he has founded “HOMELAND”. Anna was very much keen on geopolitics across globe to understand the secession, civil war, and formation of new countries to learn things for separate nation call for Dravida Nadu later Tamilnadu. The articles written in Homeland are much evident to the same. Some are very long articles written by Anna. They range from Dravida Nadu as Federation, French occupation of Algeria, Struggles of Eelam tamils in Ceylon, Oppressed castes in India, Ideology of Ambedkar, Political history of the Dravidians and Indian subcontinent, Oligarchs in India, Foreign Investment interests of American businesses to the Secession, Federalism and Self Determination. I hope this collection undoubtedly helps to understand Anna’s multifaceted visionary and to take a stand for the interests of the people whenever there is a conflict in the political problems.-Sudhakar Ganesan,Editor and Translator, 27-08-2021
