Stella Mitchell has had her heart set on Ozzy Wilson since the day she realized that boys really don’t have cooties. He was her first and only crush. How could she not be obsessed with him? Ozzy’s six pack abs, dark eyes, plump lips, and a full sleeve of tattoos would make any girl swoon.
Only one little (or big) problem… Ozzy is best friends with Wes, Stella’s extremely overprotective older brother. Ozzy only sees Stella as a little kid, but she wants to change that.
When it’s time for Stella to head off to college, she agrees to move into the spare bedroom of the house Wes and Ozzy share with their other roommate, Ezra. Not only will Stella be out from under her parent’s watchful eyes, but she will be literally living right next to hot-as-sin Ozzy.
Stella’s high school experience was less than ideal, and she hopes her Freshman year at Brunswick University will be a new beginning for her. She wants to show Ozzy that she is a sexy, grown-ass woman and can handle him. All of him. Can Stella finally convince Ozzy to go behind Wes’s back to be with her? Will they be able to control their inner demons so they can be together or were they doomed from the start?
D.C. Kile lives in Georgia with her husband and 2 kids #TwinMom. If she's not writing romance, she's reading it. She also enjoys all things Harry Potter, cooking shows, a good HGTV make-over, and day dreaming about future vacations.
According to the description, I thought this book was for me. I was so wrong! The heroine, was in love with her brother's friend, but had sex with other guys. she was not very picky with whom and where. I don't like to read about this.
My first introduction to DC Kile and man it was a punch. This book was truly a beautifully written piece that hits home struggles with life but also how two people can really find each other and be there when they don’t feel like that, they deserve it.
Stella has had a crush on her big brother’s best friend since they were kids. When you aren’t sure of those feelings because you are young and innocent and then grow up and don’t believe that they are felt by both parties you hide them the best you can. As life changes quickly for Stella she falls into a pattern that creates some big problems. I will not actually talk anymore about it as you really need to read this book to understand what that problem was. Her family did everything they could to help her through the problem and with the help of a therapist she is in a much better place that allows her to go off to college when she graduates high school. She had to make concessions and one of them is to live in the house her parents bought for her brother. He has two roommates and of course you know one of them is Ozzy.
Wes has told Ozzy nothing about what Stella went through while they were gone. He might be his best friend but now that Stella is doing so much better he doesn’t want to risk her falling into old habits. He also warned Ozzy off his sister years ago, you know that whole Bro Code. Except, Ozzy has seen Stella in a different light and when she moves in, he sees her even more. After a ton of pushing by Stella, they finally have a secret night that turns into so much more. Yet, Ozzy doesn’t believe he can keep something as amazing as Stella. When the rug gets pulled out from under her everything falls apart. Will they be able to find themselves back together?
I truly appreciated the battle that Stella had. It was written perfectly and allows the reader a chance to get into her head while she works through things. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and to hopefully keep up with all the characters.
TROPES: Roommate Forced proximity Childhood friends to lovers Best friend's sister
SPICE: 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶 strong sexual content
Goodreads: 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
I really enjoyed this novel. This romance features many tropes I enjoy, especially childhood friends to lovers, as well as best friends sibling. The sexul tension between Ozzy and Stella was very strong. I the reader could really feel their magnetic pull towards one another. This novel has many spicy scenes, so if you want a romance that is heavy on Spice, I think you will really enjoy it. Kile did a wonderful job at really making the reader crave more. I read the whole book in one day. I was fully enamored with the characters and wanted to see how the story ended. I really liked the book, and plan to pick up the next in the series.
I really liked Stella and Ozzy!!! I liked Stella. She was strong, determined, and bold. Loved that she wasn’t a virgin/inexperienced!!!! I was getting pretty sick and tired of reading books where the MMC is a playboy while the FMC is a virgin/Inexperienced. When it came to her obsession with Ozzy, girl did not know the word subtle. But she wasn’t a doormat or pushover which I really liked.
I didn’t really liked Ozzy at first. He was judgmental. Hated the assumptions he made about Stella. Thinking just because she’s rich her life can’t be hard. I hated that he let his fears and insecurities take over. It made me want to slap him. He becomes tolerable and likable around 40%. I loved the little notes that he gave her, It was sweet and cute. I like seeing Ozzy go from fuckboy to being in love with Stella.
Exactly what I needed to read. So good that I read it in one day. Story of forbidden love (best friend’s sister).
Stella is the best friend’s sister. Ozzy had known Stella for years and remembered her as the little sister. Until she shows up years later (not a little girl anymore, definitely all woman). Stella moves in with her brother, Ozzy, and another roommate to start college and this is where the fun begins. Stella’s main goal is to make Ozzy see her as the woman she has become and make him want her… she’s been in love with him for years and she’s determined to make her dreams come true. There were times that she acted a bit immaturely but its no big deal. Also, the steamy scenes are steeeeeaaaammmyyyyy.
While the spicy parts were very good and very spicy I felt like the characters and story were lacking in complexity. Each character seemed to have 2 or 3 plotted out personality traits which all felt very forced and repetitive. Also given that it seems to be a series I found that I didn't really care about the world outside the 2 main characters enough that I would read another one. That being said it was by no means a bad book and the spice was definitely nice so if that's what you're reading for then this is a good one for you.
This was deeper than I expected it to be. There are topics that are handled beautifully. The story is fun, steamy. Stella is the little sister who just wants to bang her brothers hot friend. But it’s never enough and as feelings get involved their hidden relationship evolves. I really annoyed it.
This story is a super cute brother’s best friend tale. I thought the tension within and between characters was built incredibly well. The smut isn’t heavy-handed or gratuitous, either. I really only give 5 stars to my absolute favorites, so it’s a well-earned four stars for me!
Great combination of romance and sauciness. A pretty quick and easy read. Definitely got me flustered. Highly recommend if you like fairly tale romance with lots of steam.
This was a perfect example of why I love brother's best friend romance. The connection that they share makes everything more intense. Then the forbidden aspect makes it so risky. I love everything else that was thrown in
The book was pretty great. I really enjoyed the whole brothers best friend. But, there were tons of typos. Too many for a published book. It was very annoying to me.
I loved the characters but I got bored of the story line real fast. I had to make myself finish the book, but I was glad that Stella and Lazy got their happy ending.
I enjoyed the story, but didn't really like the writing. it's full of clichés ("you're not like the other girls to me" 🤮), and the syntax is all very basic. The relationship between the 2 of them felt forced (especially at the beginning, and I mean it literally) so I guess it was just difficult for me to enjoy their story fully. Even the dirty talk was weird (and it's pretty rare that I find dirty talk weird... Maybe I was just in a weird mood while reading it?)
It wasn't my favorite book of the year but it was still entertaining.
