I'm getting a little tired of this series. There's so much repetition in the story; it's as if the author thinks we can't remember what we read a couple of chapters ago. I like the characters and the story--just light easy reading--and I want to see what happens in the next book, so I'll probably continue reading the series.

It is always exciting when Jan Moran releases a new book! Join Ivy, Shelly, and Poppy for the Seabreeze Inn’s first Spa Week.

Ivy is adjusting to a new marriage to Bennett, while Shelly and Mitch are preparing for the birth of their first child. I have loved the evolution of the characters as the series has progressed. And the old inn itself yields up more of its secrets.

“Seabreeze Shores” prepares us for a Bay family reunion in the upcoming “Seabreeze Reunion.”

Moran’s writing transported me to the beach where I could feel and smell the ocean breeze. Beautifully written and packed with fun and love, this is the perfect book if you are looking for clean romance, close-knit families, and small communities.

I highly recommend this fun, heartfelt series. I look forward to more in this series.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I did in the other ones in the series. I found Ivy to be very negative in general. I thought that she was very selfish when it came to Bennett. He treated her with so much love and always went along with her. She wouldn’t even consider his suggestion to move to his house. She was much too obsessed with her sister’s pregnancy. It ruled every decision she made.

Not only are Ivy and Shelly busy preparing for their first spa week at the Seabreeze Inn, they are also contending with their domestic life. Shelly is having doubts about being a good mother to her first baby. While Ivy is trying to balance her marriage and running the Inn and dealing with the ever present ghost of the Inn, Amelia Erickson and her myriad of hidden treasures. It is always a pleasure to read Jan Moran’s books about the Seabreeze Inn.So sit back and enjoy this week at the spa. Where guests become friends and friends enjoy everything about living at Summer Beach. I received an arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion.

I agree with other reviewers. Ivy is just "too" much. Will finish series just because but there's only so much she can continue to worry about. Debating about trying another series because plots, are so repetitive.

Seabreeze Shores by Jan Moran is the seventh book in her Summer Beach Series. This is another beautifully written story. It is a sweet romance with a little mystery added in. You can’t go wrong with friends, family and a Beach inn! There are new additions expected during Spa Week at the Inn and also the ghostly issue is still there!!! This is an enjoyable read and should be part of your beach bag this summer.

Thank you Jan Moran and Sunny Palms Press for this advanced e-book of this sweet book in exchange for my honest review.

I have read six of the books in this series and really enjoyed the stories, especially all the mysteries in the old house. But in every book I have tried to like Ivy, but I find her to be very controlling and selfish. It seems like she thinks she knows what’s best for everyone. She is the victim in most of her relationships. By the end of the books I have felt that she is lucky to have so many people who love her.

The sisters Ivy and Shelly have been through some big changes recently including a marriage and a Baby on the way but as with everything they take it all in their stride with the help of Bennet and Mitch as well as friends and family. I love how everyone has their strength and weakness and balance each other out, there are times when emotions start to bubble over and doubt creeps along with some laughs and intrigue, but as always Ivy and Shelly support each other.

To date I have read all the Seabreeze books (7) and the main thought I have about all of them is IVY is a bitch. She is very controlling of everyone, claims to be concerned but seems to want her own way in the relationship she has with each one, especially Bennett. She seems to have a very short fuse & can get very angry before she knows the whole story. Would be interesting to know who she was pattern after ?
Other than that comment I liked the books wells enough to read 7 of them.

Gosh, Ivy is so very annoying. Just because she needs to give birth in hospital, doesn't mean everyone needs to be. She should really leave everyone as is and stop forcing people to do her bidding.

On top of that every visitor somehow all wants to stay on at Summer Beach and every idea that Ivy have is a crowd pleaser.

A bit too honkey-dory if you ask me. Well, am I glad I finally read all the books the library have for me to read. I can say I am done with this series and go on with something that is more interesting.

Good book

This is the 7th book in the series. I have enjoyed them all. My problem with this was Ivy's attitude. She is so quick to take offense and closing her mind to other people's opinions. The world won't end if she isn't running it her way. I hope in the next book she has an attitude adjustment. She's coming off as a very selfish wife to Bennett's over indulging husband.

same old stuff

Nothing new or exciting here. It seems that the author is just rehashing the same stories. This is the 7th book in this series, what is the point of retelling the first 6 books and adding characters that have no backstory provided? I won’t read #8

POSSIBLE SPOILER:

I rated this book down two stars because there is a huge mistake in it. Ivy and Bennett are not married; they did not have a wedding. They had a commitment ceremony, which is not a wedding. Ivy did not have the paperwork necessary to even get a marriage license.

This is book seven of the Summer Beach series and sees Ivy, the owner of the Seabreeze Inn, getting used to her marriage and living with Bennett, the town’s mayor, on a full time basis in the apartment above the garage of the inn. There is still lots going on at the inn, as she tries to make ends meet out of season, by holding their first ever Spa week. Her sister Shelly is getting to the end of her first pregnancy and matters are a bit tense at her home with Mitch, as he tries to extend it for their new addition. But it is going slowly, with business still being good for his beach hut and boat trips, so not much has been done. He is working on it in the evenings and late into the night, which is cutting down on her rest or any peace and quiet! He also insists on doing it all by himself and won’t even accept any assistance from Bennett, who is a good friend of his. Ivy and Shelly’s parents are still away on their round the world boat trip and Ivy is feeling the pressure of the absence of their mother, whilst Shelly is so pregnant and really wants her mum around to support her. All the pressure is on Ivy!
A developer is trying to force in a large shopping mall just outside the small town of Summer Beach, based at an old airfield that has links to the original owners of the inn, Amelia Erickson and her husband. Some letters that Paige uncovered in the old books they found at the inn, in the area that was converted into her new bookshop whilst hers is being fixed back up, give links to what life was like in those days. Part of the Spa week will be a 1920’s themed party and another link is an old barge wreck that Shelly ends up falling over at a very low tide, whilst on a walk along the beach. Ivy gets a strange feeling yet again, when reading the letters and wants to find out more about this old casino barge and the people connected to it, with a tale of a maid from the inn and a croupier from the casino barge running off together. Stories of a possible safe in the wreck make her wonder what other treasures might be hidden there or in the Inn itself! They have certainly found a few surprises along their journey to renovate the inn. Relationships may have their ups and downs in this episode, but they prove that love will win in the end, so long as you give it a chance!
A shocking and sudden arrival at the old airfield, soon brings in some new ideas of what to do with the old and unused airfield, which is so close to the beach and the town itself. Bennett delivers a few surprises to Ivy, but not all of them go down well. She is working 24/7, seeing to guests and the inn itself and he knows she needs to take some time out for herself and for their marriage. They never had a honeymoon and he hopes to persuade her to go away, but Shelly’s pregnancy brings too many worries, for both of them from their own experiences, for it to happen easily. New friendships are made and both new and old find their place in Summer Beach as the gossip and news travels fast all around. A nice continuation, with all the favourite characters from throughout the series and a new addition to the wide ranging Bay family. Lots of touches of reality and a lovely storyline. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

The sisters are back for another installment of the Seabreeze series. Ivy, mid-40s, and Shelly, 39, are entering a new stage in their respective marriages and in their roles at the inn. Ivy is still figuring out how to adapt to Bennett, mid to late 40s, who is a loving, attentive husband because Jeremy her late husband was not there for her. She had become so independent that anything Bennett attempts to do to assist her is either suspect or resented. This leads to a big blow up between them that I thought it was the end for them. It did highlight that the "honeymoon was over" even though they never went on a honeymoon. Marriage later in life can hold different challenges.

Shelly and Mitch are both stubborn. Mitch is determined to build the baby's nursery without having any skills to do it. That leads to friction between them. Mitch is also 29, which means that his age is taken into account in a way that it would not have been if he had been the same age or older than Shelly. Shelly is having a late-in-life pregnancy and wants it to done in a certain way that Ivy doesn't approve of or feel that it is safe enough. With all of this pressure and her delivery date drawing closer, things are not going so well between Shelly and Mitch.

I wish that the relationship between Ivy and Bennett had a bit more romance to it. The friction is fine, and the misunderstanding that occurred was bothersome. However, this is a women's fiction, not a romance series, something I need to keep in mind. I have found that Shelly and Mitch seem to have more of the romantic connection that I was looking for.

There was the addition of a new character with a spectacular intro. She helped them to find a solution to a situation that had been ongoing. The story about the past not-quite legal goings on was interesting, but did not quite get resolved the way I thought it would. It did continue with the underlying Amelia storyline that is part of the history of the house. It just did not seem quite as compelling as the original discoveries. The resolutions did hold some surprises and satisfying conclusions.

Note: I received an advance reading copy. I own the paperbacks of books 1-5, expecting to purchase the rest of the series. I really enjoyed book 6; it was one of my faves in this series.

It’s Spa week at the Seabreeze Inn and Ivy and Shelly are busy getting ready. It will be a new event for the Inn, and they are looking forward to the Roaring Twenties party that will finish off the week.

While Ivy is adjusting to her new marriage, Shelly is preparing for the birth of her first child. When they take a much-needed break and a walk along the shore, they find a piece of a ship from the 1920’s that has been exposed by the tide. Is this a coincidence or is it the homes last owner, the illustrious and mysterious Amelia Erickson sending them a message? When new guests and old friends unite for the spa week festivities, new clues and old mysteries come to life for the sisters and their families. What secrets will Ivy and Shelly uncover this time?

Jan Moran brings us yet another fabulous book in the “Summer Beach Series”. Her characters are all so true to life with their struggles their triumphs, and their own unique personalities. When I read this book, it felt like I was right at the Seabreeze Inn visiting new and old friends as Ms. Moran takes us right into the story by her effortless writing style. I love the elements of family, friendship and mystery all wound together in the pages of the book. Thank you so much to the author Jan Moran for an advanced readers copy that I voluntarily read and reviewed. The perfect series to curl up with this summer.

" People come to Summer Beach because it’s unique. We have to keep it that way"

"As Shelly would say, read the room, dude"

Ivy and Bennett are settling into a marriage based on love over expectations. Ivy dealing with her terrible first husband, and Bennett with the losses of his first wife and only child. Ivy's sister Shelley is dealing with her pregnancy and a husband who sometimes shows that he's still a surfer dude. And at least one more couple might be fairly serious as a young woman crashes her small plane on the old abandoned runway nearby.

What will the Inn yield this time when a wall needs replacing? Will Mitch accept the help in building a room for their new child? Can the town stand against a pushy developer?

I put up both quotes this time because they reflect the arch of this book. "We left our heroes...." trying to figure out marriage in later life. Trying to work together, rather than
simply living together. In some ways this book reads like a conclusion to the series. Whether it is our not, I thank Jan Moran for giving us a wonderful midlife love story. Highly recommended 5/5

This is book seven in The Summer Beach Series and it continues Ivy and Shelly's story. Shelly is due to have her baby but Ivy is worried with how the preparations are going for Shelly and the baby so she sets out a plan. More secrets are revealed and treasure is found and there are a new intake of people for activities happen at the inn along with a new project and new comers falling in love and wanting to stay and make there home in Summer Beach. I absolutely love this series and each book just gets better and better as you watch them all come together and support each other and make the town a place where everyone wants to live me included and while reading this book you feel like you are part of a very special place and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing series. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout until the last page and I couldn't put it down. Jan Moran certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and weave a story that seems so real and I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

It’s always wonderful to be back in Summer Beach. This time, Shelly and Mitch are awaiting their baby’s appearance. Mitch is attempting home renovation mode, without the greatest success. Ivy’s in protective sister mode, as she and Bennett acclimate to their new marriage and living arrangements. As if that’s not enough going on, it’s Spa Week at the Inn, with lots to do to prepare.

Of course, other beloved members of the Summer Beach community make appearances, too. It wouldn’t be a Jan Moran Summer Beach book if they didn’t. And Amelia manages to find her way into the story, too.

These books never disappoint. This is the seventh book in this series, and it’s just as good as the earlier ones. I highly recommend this book and this series.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading his book.

Ivy and Bennet are a nice couple who live in this California coastal town. Ivy runs an old Inn and Bennet is the town Mayor. Ivy’s sister is pregnant and a developer wants to make an old airstrip into a discount shopping mall. Those are the issues pursued in the book. I found the writing repeated itself a lot. If you missed a point don’t worry the story will make it again and again. But the thing that made me cringe every time I read it (which was often) was the reference to the Bay area in Northern California. I live in the Bay Area of Northern California and it is Bay, capital B Area, capital A. Yet in this book is always referred to as Bay area, no capital A. Like fingernails on a blackboard or someone continually misspelling your name. While the characters are nice and the story is nice that is really all this book is - nice. If you are bored and have nothing else to read it will fill the void but don’t go out of your way.

It was lovely to catch up the residents of Summer Beach, particularly Ivy, Shelly, Bennett and Mitch and the ups and downs of trying to run a successful business from Ivy's point of view and managing a good marriage as well as the worry of Shelly's imminent baby's birth and motherhood .

It is interesting to read how things work out with the couples and also be transported to a fabulous location like Summer Beach and the historic Inn and the intriguing secrets it holds. I really wish I could visit there.

Thankyou Jan for the opportunity to read this, I really feel like I know the characters and look forward for more to come.

Keep on writing. X.

I love this series! I love old houses and the beach so that is a win-win for me. I also love stories about strong women and Ivy, Shelly and the rest of the gang are nothing if not strong. Tagging along on their journey of love, loss, adventure, discovery and all the rest has been a blast. All of the characters are wonderful and it is so fun to meet new guests every time we visit. This time we get to see Ivy's marriage evolve and Shelly begin a new family. We also get to learn a little more about the house and the Erikson's. Also a great time!!

Seabreeze Shores by Jan Moran is book 7 in the Seabreeze series. This one finds all of our favorites awaiting the birth of Shelly’s baby. Ivy is busy with her 1st Spa Week event and ensuring Shelly is taking care of herself. Bennett is trying to figure out if he can get Ivy to move out of the Inn and in to his home. Mitch is trying to add a room on to their cottage for the baby and will accept no help. A new character, Piper, crashes her small plane on the beach and is rescued by Ivy, Bennett and Noah (EMS) and is taken in by the group. Fun story, as always. It seems there will only be one more in this series. I will miss everyone. Enjoy.

A spa week and more changes

Seabreeze Shores is the seventh book in the Summer Beach series and it continues this wonderful series with another great read about the Seabreeze Inn. The story is all about Ivy and Shelly getting ready for their first spa week held at the Inn. They are both contending with their own personal lives and then the pressures of running the Inn. As the series has progressed both ladies lives have become fully, more deep and brought them both growth, satisfaction, love and emotional fulfillment. I am still enjoying this pleasurable series.

Another Visit with Family

When I returned to Sumer Beach again, it felt like coming home. This was my seventh book in the series and this, along with the Coral Cottage series, has become familiar territory. I see the community in my mind with the inn becoming clearer and clearer.

Returning to Summer Beach this time, I knew Shelley was pregnant and felt we would see the family grow. As I was reading, most of what I predicted came true and I was happy to see that. I also enjoyed the addition of some new people to the town. With new people and hints dropped, I feel I know the direction future books may take.

I do look forward to the next Summer Beach adventure.
