A secret lies at the heart of this town. At the heart of my tragedies.
And I won’t stop until I find the truth.

Unfortunately, I can’t count all the obstacles in my way.

The battle between the Crows and Bedlam Boys is heating up.

No one is safe. No one is innocent.

Every move to protect the people I love brings them closer to danger, and I never thought that list would include the Bedlam Boys.

They’re falling for me.

Bringing me deeper into their world where I’ve never felt so safe and protected.

All I want is to beat back the shadows creeping into our lives.

That. Ending. 😳
Here’s the thing. Every time I read one of Ruby Vincent’s books, I become a conspiracy theorist. I trust no one and everyone is shady. She keeps me on this fine edge of trust and knowing something isn’t what it seems and I’m about to get a slap in the face. And when it happens (because it’s definitely coming) it just hurts so good! There is a lot that happens in this book. We definitely get answers but they aren’t the ones I wanted 😩 I freaking love the Bedlam Boys! They way they are equal parts protective and psycho is perfect. So ready to see where this goes next!

Read this on 6/28/22.

This one is pretty dark... it was also confusing, and the romance left a lot to be desired. A lot of kinky stuff- that's fine. But none of the characters seem to connect on a deeper level. Too much going on in the multiple sub-plots, and not enough RH action. I think this would have been better if there was only 3 or 4 guys instead of 5. Oh and the big mystery is not very mysterious; it's pretty obvious.

Rainey is the FMC. She is the innocent virgin in the beginning, scared of everything basically. She gets letters from an anonymous serial killer, taunting her with random poetry, telling her to find him & kill him before he kills again. She doesn't know why he is writing to HER specifically, ie what made him chose her.. because supposedly she's just a loner who grew up homeschooled by her Gran on their family farm on the outskirts of town.
She does figure out who the serial killer is. Idk how she does that, it's kind of glossed over... but she follows him around to see what he's up to. He notices her, and tells her she's almost out of time. He kidnapped a girl and trapped her somewhere and she's running out of air. Rainey only has that night to kill him and save the girl. The night of the town's annual "Ruckus Royale." It's kind of like a Devil's Day thing. Just a big party in the woods for the most part. As Rainey and the killer (Scott C) are having their confrontation, the Bedlam Boys pull up. The Bedlam Boys are the Kings of Ruckus Royale. They are the sons of influential people in town, and they kind of have a little gang where they act as enforcers / collection men for some bigger organization we don't know much about yet. The Bedlam Boys grab Rainey and Scott to be "sacrifices" at the Ruckus Royale. ("Sacrifices" get tied up at the stake, and ridiculed throughout the whole party.)
Rainey gets one of the Boys to release her and then she runs to get her bow 🏹 from home, and she goes back to the party to find a spot to shoot Scott from, while he's tied up at the stake. She does shoot the arrow that punctures a gas can and lights Scott on fire, killing him. She even thought ahead and buried the Bedlam Boy Cairo's wallet under the gas can ahead of time, so that when the police investigate the death, they'll think Cairo did it.
Cairo's dad is the sheriff who he convinces of his innocence. But Cairo knows it was Rainey so he tells the other Boys, and they go grab her to be their "pet" as penance.
The Bedlam Boys are known for their power, aggression, and lack of leniency. Everyone fears them and bows down to them - literally - because they're in charge. I mean it's only 4 men that are like 21 years old...not that scary...but whatever. They do act like psychopaths so there's that. And they are protected bc their parents are judges, mayors, cops, the Dean of the school, etc.

The Boys are:
(1) Cairo. The son of the sheriff. half brother to Paris, Rainey's new BFF. Cairo is unstable. Looking into his green eyes supposedly scares people bc they're so empty. He likes to chase Rainey and his kink seems to be rape fantasy stuff.
(2) Legend. Don't remember much on this guy. He is in an open relationship with Roan. I think he likes to spank Rainey with paddles..?
(3) Roan. The son of the Dean. The red haired devil imp. He is the mischievous jokester. Always laughing, making fun of people, flirting a lot too. He is in an open relationship with Legend. His kink is in receiving pain and he likes knife play and blood play.
(4) Jacques. The son of the mayor..I think..?Don't remember much on this guy either. I could be getting him and Arsenio confused honestly.
(5) Arsenio. The brilliant genius. Quiet, controlled, kind of OCD type with a mind palace memory thing going on. Knows everything and remembers everything. Comes across very disdainful and snobbish. Calls people cattle. He punishes Rainey with belts and whips. He doesn't really have sex though, because he doesn't like to lose control.

So the boys get Rainey to be "their girl". Or really their pet. They actually put a collar and leash on her and make her wear it to school every day. She sits down on the ground when they're eating. She sleeps in a doghouse the Boys put in their living room for her. They all work individually on breaking her down / breaking her in. She sleeps with all of them eventually. Separately, not together. No group sex until book two I think, when Roan & Legend start to consider her part of their relationship.
So, the scared little virgin becomes a completely different person, and she decides she is going to stay with the Boys and they'll always love her..or something. She does make strides in earning their trust. She works as a double agent for them, against the Crows - the new gang of guys threatening the Boys to give up their town.

The Crows plot line is weird and dumb. They represent their dad and the Foundry, who want to buy up property in Bedlam, and they want to split the town in 2 for some reason. The Crows pick fights with the Boys, they try to turn the public against them, etc. In the end, they're treated like Sacrifices and then arrested.

By the end of book two, the Boys are fully on Rainey's side and they want to help her figure out who is still writing the serial killer letters (now that Scott is dead, someone else obviously took up the mantle). And it turns out to be some random chick, Zoey, from Rainey's orientation tour. Zoey changed her name but she used to be named Blake Jensen - she was Scott's mentee at the youth center. Zoey actually already knew Rainey for like a year right after Rainey's Gran died, but Rainey doesn't remember bc she was on medication when they knew each other which put her in a fog etc etc... Zoey plays a lot of games before she reveals herself -- she kills Bella, the motel clerk, with an arrow, and she shoots some random dude at school with an arrow too... at the end, when she reveals herself, she kidnaps the Boys and tells Rainey to commit suicide in order to spare the Boys from being killed. Rainey jumps off the bridge into the water...
And now we're waiting for the 3rd book.

Okay

I love this author I've read everything she's written except this and her Rogues series. I have to say by far this is my least favorite

The premise behind the story is good but I just don't know. Its not my cup of tea. Not because of the level of darkness (I've read worse) its just not and I don't know how to aptly explain it.

10/5

I'm not gonna lie. Ruby Vincent a mystery genius.
I was not expecting that ending.
Still in shock. How can I wait until the next book?

I do not believe Daddy Ellis back up that easily. And Letter Man? (not going to spoil for you) true psycho. I mean really. Crazy.

Just for the note. I love her relationship with Cairo. Their soul-connected bond had me melting. I did say Arsenio going to be my favorite in the last book. And I was right! I just love that guy and his nipple soothing action.

Jeremy is a piece of work for a minute-just a minute-thought he was a good guy do his father bidding. But I was wrong. Did they deserve it? Totally. But I was really impressed by the town coming together moment. You don't see that in every book. The whole town comes together through violence. Somehow it was a good moment. Ruby Vincent did that. I am truly impressed by this series.

Great worldbuilding, great story, great characters, and amazing writing.

Rainey is truly a badass heroine.

Geez. I need a minute after this book.

Wait almost a year for for the 3rd cliffhanger

I am so furious with kindle books that end in major cliff hangers and make you wait almost a year to find out what happens.I guess from now on I have to pre-screen books on how much time in between books.Book two started exactly where book one ended like it was chopped off 1/3 rd of book one and continued.I'm glad this was free.If I had paid I'd be super mad. It's like stay tuned for this commercial break .Oh we're sorry we'll be back in a year to go on.Just a way to sell more books and not have to write another for awhile? I doubt I'll read book 3.Won't even remember it honestly.

The Bedlam Boys Series by Ruby Vincent
Book 1: Ruckus Royale
Book 2: Riot Kings
Book 3: Chaos Crown (OCT 10, 2022)
- Rh. - Stalker/Psychopath -Small town -

This story follows Rainey and her Bedlam boys: Arsenio, Cairo, Jacques, Legend and Roan. Rainey this mysterious Letter man writing her letter and threaten to harm people she cares about if she doesnt obey what they want her to do. She doesnt know who to trust .She catches the eyes of the Bedlam boys because she doesnt take there crap and doesnt obey as everyone else in town does. A new group comes into town called the Crows they want to run the Bedlam boy out of town. Every year there’s one night called the Ruckus Royale where there is chaos and mayhem and the kings of ruckus will rule and have the best party of the year. Rainey has orders from This letter man that she has a life to save and a life to take. She believes by the Bedlam boys claiming her that she will atone for everything she has done and what’s to come by them using her then way they all wants to.

Rainey is a bad ass Heroine. The guys bring out her mouthy and disobedient side . She always does what she believe is the best thing for her . As time goes on she grows attached to the guys. They all have this’d unique bond to one another . There is M/M in this RH. ALL the guys are Alphahole in this RH. There not a sweet soul in theses guys. They also all have their own Kinks idk why but i love that. Usually there only 1 or 2 of the guys in the RH that have weird kinks. Also hate the Crows and how they treat everyone they have no morals or respect. They get everything and more then they deserve. I also love her friendship and loyalty to Paris. I always love a strong female friendship. Every time i though i figured out who i thought the letter man was i was proven wrong because the plot and twist in this story makes you question everything you know. Also the Cliffhanger in each book leaves your mouth hanging open. I love Ruby Vincent writing and how i never know where the story is going to good. I Can not wait for the third book to be out!

So many questions

I've just finished this book and now I'm processing. If I can say 1 thing about this book, there's a lot going on which can be a little confusing.

Bedlam is s city at war. Crows against Bedlam Boys. Mysterious people in the background pulling strings. The Letter Man making threats as they desperately try to figure out their identity.

In the midst of revenge, threats, violence and mystery is Rainey and her guys, navigating their relationships. One thing I'll say about the RH relationships, I think because there is so much happening, not as much effort went into their relationship in this book as book 1, with things seeming to settle just a little too easy. However, I'm not sure that's a bad thing, I've read a few authors go too far the other way recently and I think I preferred this approach.

Now we do get some partial answers to questions raised in book 1, but those answers just seem to raise more questions. And then of course there's a cliffhanger. I sure hope that date for the next book is planned to be reduced because 12 months is too far away.

Wow!!!

OMG!! What an ending. Ruby Vincent’s Riot Kings was incredible and dark. The story of Rainey and her Bedlam Boys was just riveting. Picking up where book one left off, we find Rainey still dealing with the aftermath of the Letter Man’s latest stunt. She’s also having to navigate the growing tensions between her boys and the Crows.

There are twists and turns galore. There are situations that will leave you with your mouth agape. You’ll have theories and hunches and you’ll be kept guessing. There are so many mysteries that need to be solved. For every blow the Crows throw, the Bedlam Boys hit back. And there are so many GOOD steamy scenes. But the end of this book? I mean holy cliffhanger.

I can’t wait for the next book. And you shouldn’t wait to dive into this one!

The best way I can describe this book is like watching the early seasons of Lost. Remember when season 2 started, and we were like, sweet, we are finally going to get some answers, and they were like, jk, here’s Desmond.

That’s how this book is. Some things were explained, but a lot was left unanswered, and new stuff was introduced. Wtf. Seriously. Wtf.

The one thing that keeps this from being perfect for me is I don’t feel the connection between Rainey and the guys. I’m pretty flexible with insta-love/lust, but she jumped all in, and I still don’t know why or even that she really feels a connection. Maybe it’s because I am just coming off of the final book of the Sommerset series, and Valentina is so in sync with those guys.

My mind is blown!!

This is book two in The Bedlam Boys series and ends on a mind blowing cliffhanger. Rainey DeSouza is caught up in the middle of a web of deceit and lies where a mystery person sending her black letters is trying g to manipulate her into doing things she does not want to do. The Bedlam Boys; Cairo, Arsenio, Legend, Roan, and Jacques end up claiming Rainey as theirs and are trying to help her discover who is behind the black letters but the also have a fight of their own against the crew calling themselves The Crows. They seem to be one step behind all the time and it may cost one of them their life. I am looking forward to reading the third and final book in the series, Chaos Crown!

WHAT?!?!?!

I’ve literally been sitting here staring at the wall trying to process what I just read for the last 5 minutes! I truly think she’s trying to give us a heart attack with these cliffhangers, OMG! This book was just as good as the first in the series. It picked up right where it left off, and the story was so full of twists and turns I felt like I was constantly going in circles lol. You learned more about each of the MMC’s and their pasts, which helped explain some of their actions and interactions with Rainey. Can’t wait to find out what’s coming next!!

Much better!

This series just keeps getting better. Definitely no rough starts in this book. The author has a good flow going now. I can honestly say I wasn't confused once, unlike the first book. What an ending though. I'm still clinging to my seat. The mystery hasn't ended. I may know who the Letter Man is, but there are still some unanswered questions and some new ones added to the mix. I need to know where this goes!

Dark and Twisted

This series just gets better and better. Bedlam Boys up against a ruthless gang, the Crows bring havoc and mayhem to the little town of Bedlam - and the reasons behind it are only just coming to light. Behind all that, Rainey is facing a stalker with zero morals and a taste for vengeance. Another wtf moment at the end, means Book Three will be full on from start to finish.

Great binge series. Solid 5 stars. Strongly recommend.

But that ending!!!

Once again Ruby Vincent has knockedbit out of the park with this book! The drama between the gangs heat up even more and depending on who you side with justice is sweet. But the Letter Man! God! Who is finally revealed at the end of the book is just as sick and twisted as ever. But the ending had me ugly crying on to add more ugly crying with that cliffhanger!

Ladies and gentlemen this is how you write a plottwist. The ending, the cliffhanger, the anguish, the wtf. I just can't believe it. I had to re-read the last chapters searching for any clues. This is the type of book you read because you need therapy or you will end up in therapy after reading it. The romance was sooo dark, disturbing but incredibly entertaining. I'm actually questioning my sanity. great ending....

My opinion

I read 1-3 looking forward to the next book suspense had me wanting to go to the back of book several times. What I didn’t like in some places was cut short and moved on to another part only to go back and complete where it cut off. Which caused me to think of a few questions .

It's not often I'm left speechless at the end of a book, but that's exactly what I was at the end of this one. We learned a lot at the end and then...Ruby pulled the rug right out from underneath me. Not only was I speechless, but my mouth hung open in disbelief for several minutes. I will be rereading this series closer to the release of the third book. Soooo much to take in!!

4 Stars

The writing is on point like all of her books. I liked this book a lot-just not as much as the others by this same author. That’s where the 4 star instead of 5 star rating came in. It’s still very good and highly recommended. She’s quickly became a must read author by me.

DNF 15%. I made it to the second book and had to finally pick up my Goodreads and read a spoiler review. I can't continue. The spoiler proved that this is just beyond my scope of "handle it". Not that the content was too graphic, I'm all for dark. But the plot itself and the amount of "whaaaa????" (Enter a Minion whaaaat?? face). I read about the end of book 2 and I'm officially tapping out.

The ending of this book…?!!!!!

Seriously I loved this book up until the twist. The only thing that might have me coming back for the third one is finding out what gold had to say before the call was cut short.

5 stars up until the ending.

I am… flabbergasted.
