I watch the blood as it seeps from him, pooling like crimson flame around his neck, trickling in rivulets of liquid fire onto the dense body below.
The body I've touched. I've held. I've kissed. I've felt wrapped around me for so long, holding me possessively, protecting me from those who wanted me lost.
The nightmarish thud as he hits the ground rages through my cells as a scream is ripped from my throat.
The horror of raw bloodshed is new to me.
I try to free my hands from the coarse rope binding them so that I can get to him before the eyes locked onto mine lose the blaze of their light and close for good, turning to ash before my eyes.
I have to get there so that I can touch him. Hold him. So that he knows I'm there.
He has to know I'm there...
I tried to stop it.
I tried to do what they asked for.
I tried to heal the wounds enslaving so many, to vanquish the demons so cruelly infesting their host, unwilling to let go.
They were too strong, too corrupt, too ravenous for blood.

Edit: I just saw this review is now at the top of the page, and I feel sort of guilty about it - I intentionally deleted this review off my feed because I know it's a rant review and I wasn't seriously reviewing the book (I didn't even read all of this book). Anyway. I think my initial review below was harsh, but it's honest, and I will say I can tell the author made some effort to cut down on nonsensical descriptions and the word masculine. Her writing style is still rather verbose and I think she went off track with the characters Cameron and Sebastian. Not to mention too many random plot directions. If you're a fan of this author and series, please please save yourself some frustration and don't read the review below. It has spoilers and will only resonate with those who are Team Jack.
I downloaded this book because I thought it was the last one. Unfortunately, I was wrong. At this point I'd like to believe all the characters off themselves because the author makes them repeat themselves, ad nauseum. Lots of typos, misuse of words, and the author really shouldn't write American characters. Her Englishness comes through and took me out of the story when she said things like, I was sat on his lap or He will do. He will do what? The biggest problems are the sheer repetition of the conversations, the same questions, and the same answers. Much more dialog than action. And the focus on Jessynia by EVERYONE got really old. I did end up skipping through a lot of it and the ending was just like in the previous book, unsatisfying. If you're asking yourselves why I've continued the series this far it really was just to find out the ending. Apparently that won't be happening.
I have just finished Ashes of Black Oak, and I've been eagerly expecting Book 5 for forever. As usual, Monique doesn't disappoint with this gripping plot. She throws straight into the action, and from there, her plot and words hypnotized me. The whole Jess and her men's story felt angsty and hot as hell. Each of the men brings something different to the story, each in polar opposite ways. I read this over the space of a few days, not being able to stop reading, and when I did, I was constantly thinking of the plot and what was to come. The author has a way of getting into your head, and it had me thought-provoking about everything contained in the book. If you love a Dark Society Romance, I highly recommend Moniques Black Oak Series - It's everything!!!
This was supposed to be the last book...but no. It's another cliff hanger and another book. The story line is just the same worn out phrases from the other books. I'm done with this foolishness.
First, let me just say, I love this series. By far one of my favorite series. I have been patiently (or not so patiently) waiting on this book, book 5 of the series, and wow. Edenwood delivered an amazing 5th installment in the Black Oak series.
I feel like I've dived even deeper into the Society and into each of the minds of the characters. Even when I thought I had dived deep, no we are taken even deeper. We get to see more internal torment in Jess. More struggle with her choices, that don’t necessarily always align with her heart. We see the effects of what has happened physically and emotionally to Cam. The torment he is going through. Also, Olivia can go kick rocks. We get to feel the pain of Jack and feel how torn up he is that he did what he did to Jess. Then you add in Sebastian. And holy mother of all that is spice. The sexual tension that he adds to the book is out of this world.
And then let’s talk about the steam in this book. Holy omg! The spice level is off the freaking charts in this one. I can't decide if I'm team cam, team jack or team seb. Maybe I'm team all three! The spicy was done to perfection.
This book kept me on the edge of me seat the entire time. Every single page was written so beautifully and the plot woven so beautifully together. I honestly cannot wait till book six. I will probably end up re reading the entire series at least 7 more times before book 6 comes out.
This is an amazing series and I definitely recommend every single book in this series.
I am disappointed in this book. The story line wss tedious going back and forth with the same issues, like it got stuck. Its taking too long to come to the resolution. Also very disappointed that Jessynia didn't stay with her conviction about Sebastian. It reduces her character to being entirely sexual when in previous books she she was intelligent and strong in her convictions. Hopefully the next book will be better
If you can see by the tags, this addition to the Black Oak Series has a little bit everything. Honestly though it's hard to describe this story and it's characters as they are all super complex (yes, even the multiple side characters).
Where to begin? This series literally had me by the first book when it was mentioned there was a secret society run by a guy who is a total unapologetic villain with long silvery blonde hair (Sebastian Gravier). It also helped that this said villain is a layered, complex character. I can also appreciate that Monique has him stay in character throughout these books even as he struggles with his feelings about Jess. Even the decision he makes at the end of this book about her was very much so in character. Basically I like the fact that he doesn't ever become some magical cream puff dream boat boyfriend she saves from himself.
What really made this book for me were the characters, because as I read through each of their perspectives I started to understand that I couldn't write any of them off as typical dislikable character tropes. A prime example of this is Jess, because she genuinely wants to help people work through their trauma, not just for her sake but for others as well. As I read through her POV, I realized that she truly is a beautiful and selfless person. Even her decision at the end of the book to leave her men really stuck out to me. I haven't ever read a book where the FMC realized that MMCs and herself needed space in order to heal properly, and she was selfless enough to realize and act on it. Characters like Alex and Beth had me understanding them as well through their emotionally complex POVs, because of all the trauma they experienced. I felt bad for both of them based off of their past trauma, but really though Alex needs to go to prison after all she has done, even if I do feel bad for her about her past.
There were many times where there would be a characters POV where I would think: "Why is this persons POV needed, what is it going to add to the story?". For example, Darragh's POV, or as I like to call him "Dante's Inferno personified", but after finishing the book I understood why his POV was needed, we get more perspective and history on Sebastian and the Society through him. Even Beth's POV I was questioning on the need for it, but I think it was helpful to show that she shouldn't be written off as a dislikeable, damaged person, it shows she is human and in a lot of pain, because of the trauma she has experienced at the hands of the Society. Each characters POV adds layers and detail to enrich the plot of the story.
By the end of this book I just wanted to give all the characters one big hug, Jack, Cam, Jess, Beth, and yes even Sebastian (although I don't think his character would appreciate it lol). This was not an easy read by any means and anyone reading this should go into knowing that there are a lot of triggers especially when it comes to abuse. This being said, I hope by the end of this book there is a happy if not hopeful ending for Jess, her men, and those wronged by the Society. I will be anxiously awaiting the sixth book.

BRILLIANT AND MIND-BLOWING. Wow. I'm damn near speechless, and I've waited for this ARC copy for months. I've read this entire series, and the beauty of this author's writing is flawless. The male characters are absolute perfection, and once again, this book did not disappoint. There is so much depth to this story and gritty, deeply rooted honesty in how these characters express themselves and view the world the author created. It's so hard to explain what you feel when you read this series. Dark, deviant, alluring, gripping, emotional, seductive... I could go on forever. These men Edenwood has masterfully developed, and this storyline, even the malicious, jealous, spiteful Alex Frost, it's phenomenal. As my top series read in 2021, I can't recommend these novels enough. It's a series I will own in paperback and read over again because it is stunning, graphic, and captivating. There aren't enough words to describe the heat, the darkness, or the beauty entwined within the pages of this incredible series. UNFORGETTABLE.
Wow Firstly the writing of Monique is superb. The details, the descriptive words sends you full force into each scene played out in each chapter This is book 5 in this series of 6 and each book will either break your heart or give you some hope of a somewhat happy ending The four main characters are all in for a traumatic end Jack who cheated on his wife Jess to save his once best friend now enemy Cameron has absolutely redeemed himself, while Jess has become the cheater She had a short wild affair with Cameron, then returned to Jack under pressure but still secretly saw Cameron a couple of times, then has a peculiar sexually tense relationship with Sebastian Then decides to leave her husband to save Cameron from Sebastian and only talk to Sebastian and give herself to him if he sets Cameron and Jack free(although Jack was left alone ) Going from one to another and playing all three men is not heading for a HEA At this point I believe Jack deserves someone who truly loves him and wants to spend their life with him and it breaks my heart to say but it is not his wife Jess

Five down, and one more book to go. This series has kept me on the edge of my seat. The suspense of how this will end keeps my brain constantly occupied.
There are so many moving parts, complete with complex characters that keep you guessing who is the bad guy. Plus, we have three very hot guys that battle for top Hero position and each book seems to change my mind and opinion. The writing for all of these books keeps your hopes up for everyone, makes you cheer for one, and then feel bad for the other. But, we all know the end is near and these powerful men are fighting dirty to win.
The way I see it, there are three men Jess could pick; Jack, Cam, and Sebastian. Jack represents who Jess once was. Cam represents the Jess she thinks she should be. Sebastian represents the Jess she secretly wants to be.
The next book can not get here soon enough. I am desperately wanting to see how this ends!
I have read this book in 36 hours! I literally went in a hole and had no desire to come out of it. What a ride that was😍
The rollercoaster and emotions I went through reading this were crazy. All the different POV's we get and how u get to know each character and what they're thinking was just amazing. I absolutely loved it! The twists in the book were phenomenal!
Sebastian🥵😮💨 you get more inside Seb's head in book 5 and you can slowly start to see him unravel for Jess (just a tiny bit as we are talking about Seb here) you really can't help but fall in love with him just that bit more. The Angst and chemistry between them both is just off the scale. How Jess is so strong at saying no to him is beyond me! Chapter 7 was OH MY GOD🥵 just the thought of it had me blushing like hell!
When Jack and Cam come face-to-face ahhhh😁😁 I don't care what anyone says. THEY.HAVE.CHEMISTRY. My heart was racing!
Jack is still as hot and dominant as ever in book 5. The scenes between Jack and Jess were literally scorching 🥵😍. Jack and Cam's love for Jess is undescribable; they literally would do anything for her, as she would them. You get to see Jess's true strength in this book and what she would actually do for her men, even if that means breaking her own heart.
The ending had me on the edge of my seat! Monique does what she does best with her ending! I can't believe it's actually happening! Ahhh. I need book 6 now! I can't even see where the story is going or what is going to happen and its killing me but we know that M is going to make it explosive like she always does. You smashed it once again!!
Jess continues to be pulled in all different directions in this book. We see more of her connection with Sebastian explored and learn more about the club. Jack and Cameron continue to be the alphas they always are - and even after five books, they're still insanely hot. So much happens in this book, that you'll honestly be left with whiplash with the amount of emotions you go through in this.
We get even more POVs in this book, which just helps make you fall deeper into this story and will definitely leave you screaming, wanting to know more answers.
Ok. So wow! Erm this book has consumed me the last couple of days. I didn't think I could Love, Hate, be Horny for these characters as much I was already. I adore this world that Monique has created and while it gets dark as hell at times, the story is super compelling. It has made my love for a certain character all the more stronger (J). What I loved most about this book was the multiple POV's we got off our huge cast of characters (I don't know how you keep track of everyone).
Am I super excited about the last book coming out in July? Hell yes! Do I want this world to stop spiralling? I don't know. It's going to be bitter sweet when this series ends. Until then I am going to enjoy the images Monique has put in my head (especially ch7 and ch21).
So if I carry on with my review of this book I'm gonna be giving away spoilers, and I'd hate to do that to you. Go read it. Now! (I'll be here for you on the other side.)
LOVED. THIS. BOOK !!!!! There’s suspense , the love triangle has grown another side …. So it’s now technically a love square , there are characters who have shown new sides of themselves and old ones we despise - we still despise !!! Every page reveals another facet of a world most of us have no idea about !! Sex , love, manipulation , angst , greed …. It’s all here !!! What will Jess do , who will she choose , how will she survive not having her cake and eating it all ?? Mind games and promises and deals all made behind closed doors …. Only to be revealed when Ms Edenwood sees fit . This book has you turning pages faster than you knew you could … and hours of reading pass in the blink of an eye. The perfect storm is brewing and I for one can’t wait for the next book…….. This is the 5 th book in the series … and it’s so bloody good . Just read it 💋
I'm so very caught up in this story. I have no clue if any of them will survive at this point. I still believe Jess and Sebastian make the best scenario. I cannot tolerate Jack because of his family and his answer to everything being sex. Cameron 's family loves her. It just depends on how or if he can get away from Sebastian and the evilness in the society to survive. I sincerely hope that Alex and the men she is turning on Sebastian get taken down and put out of readers misery with out harm coming to Jess and all others who want Jess dead to protect their evil little society. I truly believe she can save Sebastian and that deep down he truly wants her too. I now wait as patiently as I can for book 6 in this must read series.
Can Jessynia Save Her Men From The Evil Clutches Of Sebastian & The Society
** spoilers ahead*** There is a lot to get through at the start of this story with the author covering a LOT of previous ground.
Jess starts off this book in a precarious situation.
She is under Sebastian’s control after being kidnapped & drugged. But the craziness of her predicament continues to get worse as she is, at first, offered up to to Adam ( Remember Him ?) by the Society as some kind of sexual treat.
But this is all a ruse as Sebastian has other plans for the ill fated Adam.
Plans that, as one of his first victims, Jess will bare witness too, whether she want to, or not. Sebastian is determined to make her face her demons, & revel in the vengeance he is going to rain down on her predator.
Thus, Jess will be sooo appreciative, & beholden to him, he can finally have her mind, heart, body, & soul.
Not quite so fast, because. Alas!.. Jess begins having PTSD flashback nightmares about what she witnessed.
And.
As much as Jess is drawn to Sebastian’s smoulderingly, animalistic, domineering persona, she feels a need to heal him
Unfortunately, she under the delusion that she is equipped to do this.
Despite theorising about what Sebastian is REALLY after, for his disposal of her camp rapist, she’s feels he CARES!, & is under the conflated impression that she, because she’s had therapy, & read a LOT about trauma,, & ONLY she, can rid HIM of HIS demons and get him to HEAL.
If you have read the previous books you will know about Sebastian’s screwed up logic, his Demons that all started with his cruel, cold, mother abusing him up to the age of 14, until he put that B down.
Yep.
Big Bad Sebastian Gravier has Mommy issues.
So.
He & Jess have a long back & forth, session with him where they go over his & her issues. ( you need the patience of a SAINT to get through these long winded, back, and forth discussions. This is a trait the author does often)
His need to control, & torture.
Her need to be dominated by a big strong men ( YES. Several MEN) to feel safe.
She needs to be wrapped up in their arms, to be devoured by them completely. She’s just damn NEEDY!.
As for all the men, they seem to worship Jess.
Jess is the most beautiful, beguiling, sexually potent, almost like she is a mythical being. And, she may well be, because she also appears to have some kind of psychic ability second sight kinda thing, where she has these strange visualising premonitions.
Case in point:
The psychic connection she seems to have with the deceased Rose. WTF! Her nightmares that are more like premonitions. But, other times she’s spacing out seeing things in her everyday life.
There may even be a little mind reading going on between her and Sebastian, as we are lead to believe that these two have a very deep spiritual connection.
As for Jack. When she is in his presents it’s all about the brawn. The muscles. His strength. His majesty. His desperate need to “claim her’ make her HIS, along with…His Big C***k . And she’s addicted to his domination of her.
Then there is Cam,…poor Cam… (sniff) Left badly bruised & beaten, when we last heard from him, with no Jess to comfort him, he is left to deal with the voices in his head and go crazy ALL. ON. HIS. OWN. While he works out his own revenge.
As if you thought it wasn’t enough, every guy crossing Jess path lusting after her, …EVER. SINGLE ONE.
Well,.
It is the exact opposite for the female characters. They all want to kill her because she has the attention of all the men! Olivia, Beth, and the destroyer of young men, Alexandria Frost.
So. Let the battle begin as Jessynia try’s to free her guys, Jack & Cam from the evil Society All while she try’s to HEAL Sebastian of his demons.
However, Sebastian & the Society’s inner sanctum have their own plans for Jess, Cam,and Jack.
Luring Jess in, and Cam back.
And the Society’s female members are all plotting her demise. Beth, Olivia, and Alex all have plans to kill her.
Will Jessynia, Jackson, Cameron & Sebastian get their HEA all living some dark deviant lifestyle? …( please no) Or will someone end up dead.? ( yes please. Preferably Alex, Olivia, Bess, or Sebastian)
Either way, these four characters are
A. Skipping off into poly HEA relationship together Or B. Broken, and someone’s gunna DIE! At the moment the odds are on Jessynia, with all the women after her. But it could easily be Cameron or Sebastian.( remember Cain’s threat)
Bring in the next long ass book. Slow start but picked up towards the end 4 stars
I mean. This may be one of the most unhealthy and toxic books I’ve ever read. And I’ve read a lot…. Like, there are ZERO good examples of relationships or men in here. Yes, there are 3 men… And no, none of them are honestly good. Maybe Cam. But he wants to bite you or cut you, and he’s possessive and doesn’t listen when you say no… stalky, etc… and he’s the best. The rest are psychopathic cavemen that vary in brain capacity from rocks to geniuses, but they are all emotionally stunted and fail to see the worth of women aside from their holes. Not a joke. Even the side characters. Jack is not bad here, he values her. But he’s a cheater. And overly aggressive dominant asshole who she can’t speak to.
Sigh.
Is it hot? Yip. Yes it is. Unfortunately I hate to admit it is. Did I cringe for more than half the book? Also yes? Are the words PUBIS, IMPREGNATED, SODOMIZE, FELLACIO, used more than I ever want to read them? Affirmative
FEMALES ARE DESIGNED FOR MEN TO FUCK. Ja the feminist in me screamed every time I read this. I was screaming a lot.
I’m kind of absorbed in the plot…hangs head in shame. I just don’t see how the hell this is going to work out for any of them. So I’m kind of intrigued as to how the author is going to end it for everyone. I’m hoping for a gang bang at this point. But they might all die. Guess we will see. Sigh. Send help.
Jessynia is confronted with a man from her past, one who has caused her immense trauma, that trauma is then compounded by another man, for all intents and purpose, to relish in her pain. Jack wields control and dominance over Jessynia, asserts his claim time and again, his jealousy and anger turning into an insurmountable rage that he cannot control. Cameron is on a downward spiral, shutting out those that seek to help him, help that he doesn’t want or need. Locking himself away, becoming the former shell of the man he used to be, darkness ready to claim him, the only light that can save him is Jessynia, there is this perpetual need inside of him that needs to claim her for his own, and Jessynia is suffocating with no way out. Sebastian only wants three things from Jessynia - her loyalty, her submission, her s*x. And he’ll use everything inside of him, to claim her for his own, all the whilst manipulating those as he sees fit to achieve his end goal. The resistance is fracturing from the inside out, with the loss of close friends, trust is diminishing, everyone not knowing who to trust, trust being displaced, paranoia setting in, setting off a chain of events that will lead to an inevitable conclusion. Nightmares are taking hold in the deep recess of those whose minds have been touched by him, the fear is all consuming, it’s like your awake but not, remnants of what they see, smell, hear, touch and taste are tainted by him, the hope that they cling too will be shattered. Betrayal from friends goes so deep, yet there are those that are loyal to Sebastian, believe he has become contaminated by Jessynia, plans begin to unfold to bring him back into focus, but at what cost to those making said plans. Jessynia fights, she fights so hard, yet it is inevitable, she will do whatever it takes to protect the people that she loves, to reach those, to release them from their suffering and torment, to liberate them and those enshrined around him, the question is, will she fall into the darkness trying to save them? Losing herself and her soul in the process. Head the trigger warnings this books. This books has it all secrets, lies, deception, manipulation, pain, truths. I was hood from the first word to this last. The different POV’s told a telling story, their pasts connecting with their present, of the relationships between Jessynia and Jack, Jessynia and Cameron, Jessynia and Sebastian, but between Jack, Cameron and Sebastian themselves. You won’t want to miss the the adrenaline seeking suspense, the slow burning passion, blackmail, dark romance, intrigue, revenge, violence, vengeance. It will hook you. And those s*x scenes, including those BDSM elements were off the charts. That ending though, only time will tell as we await Jessynia’s fate. Bring in book 6!
Book 5, in the Black Oak series, is so intense that it takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. The lives of Jack, Jess, Cameron and Sebastian become more intertwined in this book as each of these three men have an impact on Jess. The scenes between Sebastian and Jess, Jack and Jess and Cameron and Jess are so raw and you feel each and every word written. I'm rattled because I would like to see Jess make the right decision and a result that ends well for her. She is so torn between her love for her husband and Cameron, and the attraction she feels towards Sebastian. It makes her feel guilty and ashamed but she uses the mutual attraction they have for each other to try and save the men she loves from the clutches of the Society. Will she succeed or will Sebastian get what he desires from all of them. The intensity and suspense as the story unfolded kept me hooked from the very first page. Absolutely brilliantly written and deserves more than 5 stars!!
Wow - I didn’t think I could love this series anymore but this book has proved otherwise! It’s definitely my favourite from the series so far 😍
Monique has an amazing way of captivating you from the first few words. It’s a series where you can shut out the real world and loose yourself in the dark, alluring storyline. Watch out for plot twists, they’ll keep you on your toes!
The different pov’s we get, delving deeper in to each character was just brilliant. Seeing into Sebastian’s mind made me love him even more (He’s fast becoming number one - Sorry Jack, I still love you!) and watching his relationship unfold with Jess is giving me all sorts of feels.
The ending has me running through 100 questions in my head! 😮 I’m not sure I can handle the wait until the next book!
If you are looking to read about some hot, dominant males with a gripping, dark plot and heavy spice 🥵 then this is the series for you! You will not be disappointed!
What words can be used to describe this book, the complexity, intensity, suspense, twists, turns and of course - The Scintillating Hot Sex! - I don’t think there are any?
This series has blown me up! Whilst I so want it to end only to appease my insatiable desire to know what happens - travelling the journey of all the characters (with multiple POV) has been an absolute whirlwind, roller coaster fantasy of epic proportions. Not for the faint hearted but if you want page turning, blow your mind writing, story telling, intelligent plot - characters that you love and hate with a passion - then you MUST read this. Oh and did I mention the Scintillating Hot Sex? Bring on Book 6!
This book is not as repetitive as the previous ones because the author introduces several new POVs. I was not interested in any of these people or the subplots, though. The greatest draw of this novel in the beginning was the two men fighting over Jess and the tie of them being dominants trained via this sex cult. However, with the intro of Sebastian we get a new suitor for Jess who again is a carbon copy of the other guys. By this point even hate reading has become a trial. Jess trying to save everyone is just so...entitled white girl savior mentality that it's hard not to roll my eyes every time she pleads she can save someone again and again. The writer has a knack for flowery descriptive writing, so there's that.
I really love the plot twists and newly introduced POVs. It's all well written - and I can't despite Jack even more for being such a pushy bully trying to solve any conflict or issue by forced sex. There is a lack of his respect for Jess, he treats her like an object: both inside the bedroom and outside too. I can't wait for the last book to see what is Cameron's plan. I truly love his character for his way he cares about Jess. His "my lady" nickname for Jess says just everything about his emotions and respect for her. I was happy to learn more about Alexandra. Btw I love the names Jess is calling her. They bring some humour to the tensed atmosphere. I'm looking forward to find out if my suspension about some characters are correct or wrong.
I love love this series. It had me locked in since the first page in the first book! I love the dynamics of the characters!! I have been waiting MONTHS for this book to come out and I feel compared to the other books prior to this one it wasn’t my favorite. I do like that we get some other character POVs that we haven’t before. I like that we get more of Sebastian and some of the workings of his mind and the demons he is battling when is comes to Jess. But I felt the book just dragged on a bit, I am hoping it’s just building up to a epic conclusion to the series in the next book!
This series blows me away time and time again, the suspense, the twists and turns in what is a very intricate plot, really leaves me on the edge of my seat. I am so invested in these characters and I have no idea how this is going to end, I'm not even sure who our heroine Jess should end up with as all the dominant MMCs have their flaws, vulnerabilities and have a darkness about them that Jess is drawn to....I'm just so excited to see what happens next...what more can Jess go through? Will the men she loves save her before its too late? I have so many questions and thoughts...it truly is a riveting read worthy of more than just 5 stars!!
I usually read for the action, scan the internal dialogue and intimate scenes. But this author’s words are to be read leisurely and with lazy depth. We got minor plot advancement and major fleshing out of the characters, what drives and torments them. And it was beautifully accomplished, leading me to slow down and enjoy the insights into the characters that inhabit this dark and depraved world where innocence and compassion is an anomaly. I’m please to read what I think will become an erotic literary work.
I cant recommend this series highly enough The characters Jess Jack Cameron and Sebastian are brilliantly woven together Their individual chemistry as well as to each other is amazing, there are also other characters with their own stories in the background but are very much part of this story the next book may be the last one and I am desperate to know how on earth this is going to go don't want to give spoilers so all I can say is if haven't started reading this epic story the you are seriously missing out Its genius
I’ve waited until the end of book 5 to write a review. Not sure why I’m sticking with this series. Skipping whole chapters constantly yet never seeming to miss anything. Actually skipped almost an entire book along the way. It just goes on and on and on. I get tired of jessynia’s angst. Someone take charge and bring these strings and indecisive characters to an end. Going into the last book but am sure I’ll be skipping a whole bunch. I live in hope I guess.
Every time I think it’s going to get better, I’m left disappointed. This was just so long to get through. Every character in this book has found someway to piss me off. And I’m not understanding the constant obsession that every male character is developing for Jess. Like at this point I understand the annoyance that every other woman is feeling. She’s not that great. Cameron and Jack have both proved they’re a waste of time. Jess is still an idiot who lets people manipulate her. At this point I’m rooting for nobody and I just want to see how this ends so I can be done with it.
Ahhhh guys, I just don't know. I wanted to love it, really I DID, but I am slowly losing patience with this quadruple. Sebastion, Cameron, Jack, Jess, you all are just so damn frustrating sometimes. Blood of Black Oak better repair the fractures to my broken heart, for I don't think it can take much more of this. Props to Monique Edenwood, you are gutting me sis, even if I don't know how or even what to feel at this point.
