Cruising Family Style brings together two favorite sleuths Millie and Carlita, plus the fun and unique characters on Siren of the Sea (Sharky, the captain and crew) and Carlita’s annoying neighbor Elvira Cobbs and the Garlucci mob family. WHAT could possible GO WRONG? Hope Callaghan created a mystery with humorous and heart pounding elements. My favorite heart pounding anecdote was Carlita’s dog Rambo. This Oma so identified with that episode and the outcome. This reader loved the foreshadowing of a romance between a woman, who lived a mobster’s life. and an old pirate. A page turning story of suspicion, death, and non-stop action. Ravello’s Creamy Penne Pasta Pomodoro recipe included.

Great Fun Wonderful Exciting Fantastic Crossover!!!

The Garlucci family cruise on board Millie's cruise ship "Siren of the Seas".

Carlita Garlucci and her daughter, Mercedes, her 2 sons, Vinnie and Paulie, and their wives and kids are aboard Siren of the Seas heading to the ABC Islands which consist of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao in the Caribbean Sea. Carlita is also joined by her neighbors, the Cobb sisters, Elvira and Dernice. Vito Castellini, the head of the mafia family who is also Vinnie's boss and father-in-law, and his wife and son and their security guards also join the cruise.

Carlita and her family enjoyed a nice relaxing vacation time on their first cruise until it's turned into disaster when Vito was found dead in the men's steam room. Carlita starts to get nervous that Vinnie's life might be in danger and also the life of her other children and grandchildren who might be in the way. Carlita has becomes the fast friend with Annette Delacroix, the director of food and beverage services and Millie Armati, the assistant cruise director. When Vinnie becomes the prime suspect Carlita needs all the help from her family, old friends and new friends to help investigating and trying to figure out what really happen to Vito and to clear Vinnie, if Vito's death was of natural cause or something more sinister and if it's a murder who could have done it.

Hope Callaghan has done it again, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book I finished it in one day, once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. It's a load of fun, humor and suspense, full of twist and turn that keep me entertained as I tried to figure out the mystery and murder, what a great plot and clever story line, I have to confess that I could not figure out until the end.

I never disappointed reading Hope's books, besides reading them for fun and entertainment her books always give people HOPE, they inspire us to see that life is not ended when you turn 60 or when you are a grandmother, life can begin again and you can find love, friendship, career and new friends when you're not afraid to follow your hearts and open up to the right person.

For the fan of Made in Savannah Mystery Series it is a wonderful change of scenery from Savannah, Georgia to the Caribbean cruise ship. For Millie's Cruise Ship Mysteries Series fans, all the endearing, colorful characters from the Siren of the Seas that we dearly love - Scout the miniature Yorki, Sharky the head of maintenance and his sidekick cat Fin the best drug- sniffing cat on the high seas, Suharto the head of gangway security, The Fancy Felix, Danielle Kneldon, Cat Wellington the Ocean Treasures store supervisor and the whole gang are also present.

I enjoy this book so much, I'm looking to read the next book in the series and hope to read more crossover in the future, perhaps when Millie & Nic and Sharky visit Savannah ^-^ I highly recommend this book to any cozy mystery fans, you will not be disappointed.

I love and have read every book in both the Made in Savanna and the Cruise Ship Cozy Mysteries, and this is a wonderful combination of the two series! Carlita and Mercedes Carlucci are joining “The Family” from New York on a 9-day cruise for rest and relaxation. Her son Paulie, his wife Gina and their 2 kids are also coming, while son Tony, his wife Shelby and their daughter Violet are staying behind to watch over things in Savanna, and care for the family pets, Rambo and Gravie. Of course, Vito Castellini, head of The Family, has some business he’s attending to, while onboard. The first night there, Vito makes a startling and unpopular announcement and is found dead the next morning! Vito’s wife, Francesca and her son, Tommy are outraged and blame Vinnie for Vito’s death. Enter Millie, the ship’s captain’s wife and Asst. Cruise Director, coordinator of activities and on-the-side sleuth! So, Carlita (who is an amateur sleuth in Savanna) asks Millie to help her to prove Vinnie is innocent and find out who murdered Vito. There are more twists and turns than you can imagine, especially since Carlita’s annoying neighbor, Elvira and sister Dernice are also on the cruise and Elvira is up to her usual embarrassing antics! A great story to enjoy a crazy cruise with the Family!!

If you're A fan of Carlita and or Millie's individual adventures, just wait till you read this crossover story blending the best of both worlds!!! All the characters you know and live from both series come together for this action packed WHO DONE IT with a surprise ending that will blow your mind then warm your heart!

Vito, the mob Godfather and father in law to Carlita son Vinnie, brings both families on board for some relaxation onboard the siren of the seas cruise line, staffed by our favorite Assistant Activities Director and captain's wife, Millie and all. When Vito is murdered after making a major announcement impacting the further of "the family", Vinnie's is suspected of the crime. It's up to Carlita, Mercedes and Elvira along with the cruise line sleuths to clear Vinnie's name and find the killer before Vinnie's pays the ultimate price!

If you're A fan of all things Hope Callaghan, this book will not disappoint! If you're new to either series, start reading from book one and get involved with 2 fantastic stories and families! You will be thrilled you did!

Started out with a surprise from Elvira…well, a shock more like. Then it ended with another surprise from Pete that was a great one!

As always, Carlita and Mercedes found trouble to get people out of with help from Elvira and some cruise members. There happened to be another surprise mixed into this that shocked everyone, including the reader. It was definitely a disappointment to the family.

This is book 17 and I read that book 18 is “coming soon!” Maybe it’ll be about the cruise Captain’s wife Millie visiting Savannah and she and Carlita, Elvira, and Mercedes will come upon another mystery. Millie is the one that helped Carlita quite a bit gain access to restricted areas on the ship in order to solve the murder of The Godfather.

Next book I’m going to read is “Santa Who?” By Kathi Daley from the ‘Cottage on Gooseberry Bay’ series.

The Garlucci Family joins the Castellini Family aboard the Siren oh the Seas cruise ship for a journey on the high seas. Elvira and Dernice decide to tag along. One can only imagine what will happen aboard that ship. Will they all survive Elvira’s antics? Instead of having an enjoyable cruise, Mr. Castellini is murdered. Carlita and the gang must join forces to solve this crime before her son is arrested for the murder. Join Carlita as she investigates with the help of Millie and the crew.

This was an enjoyable read. The plot and characters were well-written, making you feel like you are friends. This was a perfect cozy mystery with just the perfect amount of humor, mystery, intrigue, quirky characters, and adventure that will keep any reader completely engaged. Highly recommend the series and I look forward to the next book.

Cruising Mafia Style

Carlita Garlucci and her family (except Tony and his little family) board the Siren Of The for a nine day cruise and all looks to be great. Elvira Cobb and her sister Service boards the ship for the cruise. This has all the makings for a disaster especially when Elvira is found to have controband that is confiscated. Add in Vito Castellini and his family and bodyguard,and Vitos girlfriend , BOOM. I loved the interaction between the ships Crew and Carlita and the family! It flowed easily and they made friends to last a lifetime. I don't want to give away too much of the story but it is great. Hope Callaghan knocked it out of the park again.

A delightful read featuring characters from two different series written by this author. When a family with ties to the mob heads out for a relaxing cruise, they find more adventure than expected. This book has plenty of mystery, laugh-out-loud moments, and entertaining characters, all delivered by a master storyteller. While this book combines characters from two established series, I think it would also read fine as a stand-alone. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more work from Ms. Callaghan. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a voluntary, unbiased review.

Millie meets Elvira!

Disclaimer: Generally I don't enjoy books that combine characters from one series of books with those of another series.

That said, it took me a while to start enjoying "Cruising Family Style". One might expect things to go down hill for the crew of Siren of the Seas when most of the Garlucci family arrives with the mafia godfather in-laws, along with Elvira.

Murder and all sorts of mayhem occur on the Siren's first cruise since its return to Miami from Great Britain. Millie and friends join with Carlita to solve the Godfather's murder and clear Vinnie of the crime. Of course Elvira adds her own chaos to the mix. 😆

This is a cross over story with Millie's Cruise Ship Mystery Novels. I've read some of the cruise ship novels but have not read any of the Made in Savannah Mystery Series. This is book 17, so for me it was a stand alone novel. The characters from the Savannah series are a mob family, some of whom are no longer directly involved with the family, although they all came along for a free cruise. As expected, there is a murder onboard. The women of the two series join forces to find the culprit and save an innocent man from being convicted.

Fast read with intrigue

I couldn't put it down. Crossover from Made in Savannah series and the Cruise Ship Mysteries. Ever the protective mother, Carlita Garlucci, must find out who done it before her son Vinnie succumbs to jail or a worse fate. Intertwined with Millie and her crew from the Siren of the Seas ocean liner, we watch them work together to find the real murderer and the reason why. Of course, we have Elvira, Carlita's one of a kind neighbor, to put up with. Very enjoyable, quick read!!

If you have not yet begun any of Hope Callaghan's books, you are in for a real treat. Her characters could be your neighbors, and their stories could sometimes keep you up at night. Don't say I didn't warn you! This is another masterpiece in the Made in Savannah series. Give it a chance, and you will emerge with a quirky group of folk living their life, and chances are you'll want to join the family! Please believe this ARC reader - do not begin this just before you retire to bed or you'll have a very short sleep and a finished book!

A great cozy

Wow two of my favorite series characters in one great story. I love both of these series by Hope Callaghan and having both Carlita and Millie together wow it was a wonderful mix. I hope that Millie gets to Savannah soon. No telling what they can get into. Both of these series are a must read and I can't wait for the next in both series and hopefully another crossover soon.

This one takes the cake

I know there are more books in the series but this is the best one
I've read so far. First off, the crossover between Carlita and Millie is simply amazing. Then, there's the intriguing plot that kept the readers on edge and hoping it'd end and yet not end. There's also the comic relief from one of the mainstays (guess who). Highly recommended for those who love cozies and travelogues. And, don't forget the romantic ending...

I haven't read this series, but I read this one book because I do read the cruise mysteries. I felt something was missing as this case was referenced in the newest book and I thought I had mistakenly skipped a book. It took me a bit of searching to find that it was a crossover to another series. I enjoy them as easy reading but was annoyed by the confusion and trouble involved in figuring out that there was a crossover.

Fantastic Read!!

I just loved this one! The Cruise Ship series is my favorite so this crossover had me in heaven. Aside from that it was a great story that had me guessing until the end. Well thought out mystery with twists and turns, gasps and laughs. A close knit group of family and friends blended into one, learning patience and trust with one another. I’m so excited to see where the next book takes on this family’s journey!

Murder at sea.

The whole family is on a vacation cruise, the Garlucci's, Castellini's and of course Elvira and Dernice. Vito, head of the New Jersey mob, is found dead in the steam room. With the help of the assistant cruise director, Millie, an amateur sleuth herself the family is set to solve this murder.

My two favorite series smashed together to one unbelievable book! I could not put this down! When Carlita and family go on a cruise with Millie and gang you know there will be nonstop action! This was such a well put together book that highlighted all the cast members from each series. It’s a must read !!

Another great read. A crossover of two series: the Garlucci family from Savannah and Millie and the crew from the Cruise ship. Carlita and her family are on a cruise on Majestic Princess when there is a murder. It looks like Carlita's son Vinnie will be charged with the murder, but with two sets of experienced stickybeaks looking into the crime, it is solved eventually.

Carlita and Millie v.s Mob

Hope did it again! When the head of the Mob dies Carlita and Millie have to put their heads together to find out what really happened to the Mob boss. Can Millie's husband who is also the Captain keep her safe by telling her that Carlita family is part of the Mob?

I loved this crossover book! I got s kick out of the characters in the two series interacting. It was funny to watch Sharkie and Elvira circling each other as they clash in many confrontations. Millie and Carlotta working together to solve a murder as well as the rest of the cast and crew. I look forward to future crossover books !

Loved the blending of the Garlucci's and the Siren of the Seas.... Made for one terrific read... I don't know where Hope Callaghan keeps coming up with the great stories but have read all her books and each one is better than the last.... Looking forward to the next in the Divine series

Fun. Read

This is a delightful series. It carries the reader along with clever plots and Snappy dialogue. The author, however, cannot seem to.move her characters around her settings without using the word "wandering" ! They just wander everywhere, which has me wondering if she really knows where they're going!

Two wonderful series merged together.

So much fun to have most of Carlita's family cruising with Millie and her gorgeous husband, Captain Armati. Elvira and her sister show up too. Elvira's shenanigans made me laugh out loud. The laughter balances with the mystery of who killed the mob boss on the ship. Lots of clues and suspects. I liked this so much that I read it twice.

Cruising into the future

The Garlucci family takes a vacation courtesy of Vito Castellani, the head of the family. Everything is great until tragedy strikes. This book keeps you reading without any stops. Very well written. Would love to see another crossover book, maybe a British Isles cruise with all the family.

Great crossover book.

I had already finished all the Millie and Siren of the Seas books and I started on the Made in Savannah books. I love the fact that the books crossed over. It was fun to read about Millie, Annette and Sharky getting together with Carlita and the rest of the family.. very entertaining story.
