The second adventure in a brand new Mountain Man series from Leroy A. Peters!
Azariah Hancock is eight years older and wiser, and much in love with his lovely wife, Sweet Grass, and their two young children. At Rendezvous, Azariah and his Arapaho and Cheyenne compatriots hear of women and children who have been kidnapped by a band of ruffians, both white and Indian, to be sold to the Mexicans. They rescue the women, but among them are three Blackfoot---sworn enemies to Azariah's adopted tribe. He Who Walks Tall is a man of honor, however, and he wants to bring the women back to their tribe, at the risk of his own neck. Never one to cower in the face of any man, he and three of his brothers forge ahead into Blackfoot country. Will they survive? Will their honor of returning the women be respected? Back at Rendezvous, it is a nervous time while Azariah's friends and family wait to see if they will return.
I enjoyed the Indian perspective. Good story. You don't read of many giant Mountain Men, found that part of the story very interesting. Looking forward to his next books.
Another great read by LeRoy Peters. These books are really hard to lay down. You just want to keep reading to see what will happen next. Thank you LeRoy for another great read.
Really appreciate this writer. I hope to read more from him. I have read many, many western authors and am truly impressed. Hope that the books get longer.
In depth characters. Good story lines. Enjoyed both books about the characters and their adventures and family. Looking forward to reading more from this author
Azariah takes a trip and Raging Bull meets a new friend.
Azariah and his friends, find out some Indiana women are kidnapped. They must find them fast before they are taken to Mexico to be sold. Three of the women turned out to belong to the Blackfoot Tribe, which are enemies of their Indian friends and the white trappers. Azariah decides to take the women back to their tribe, knowing that he and his fiends could be killed. This is another wonderful story about their journey and all they go through, while Raging Bull and the others stay at rondevous. During this time Raging Bull meets a women, he is interested in. Will he decide to marry again this is another great story by Leroy Peters, and I am looking forward to his next book.
Easy read some exaggerations as 7ft5in charactor slow moving some big jumps in actions little hard to follow , but use the imagination works, over all its an ok read.
I absolutely loved the first book and gave it five stars. I started this book, and in the first chapter, I found names of. Horrible American serial killers having existed during those times and read about the Crimes, I know them. I read books to get away from the realities of life sometimes. I get into another world all of those names all together as bad guys in a western., Literally reminded me of the crimes and make me ill. I cannot read this book. Note to author, please use generic names. The storyline is good those names bring back. Terror in the minds of Americans and anybody else who has read about them. They don’t deserve any more infamy. We are trying to forget them ! I will begin book three and hope it is not similar because I really enjoy your writing and the stories. I can actually feel anxiety even reading these names, so please leave them in the past. Perhaps an updated version and what you remove their Smith Smith, Jones, etc, types of names your readership will immediately increase greatly.
While I know that 19th century folks were a superstitious lot, it gets tedious when an author of mountain man tales inserts constant references to imagined dirties mixed up in the affairs of humans. Surely mountain men of that era living on a razors edge of survival recognized the folly of the religious dogma they left behind to forge their own paths in the great American wilderness’s.
Putting in the names of Bundy, Dalhmer, Gasey, horrible serial killers into your book made me sick. Even if the so named characters were bad men. Do not recommend this book,
