Underbelly: The Legend Begins
Jackson Mandela 'Jax' Nandi was the best engineering student to attend Starfleet Academy in decades. Wanting to cap off his fourth year by showing his rare talents, he devises a stunt that will have people talking about who did it and how it was done for years.
Unfortunately for Jax, a Section 31 admiral discovers Jax's identify and in order for him not to divulge it, the admiral makes Jax an offer he can't refuse. Jax accepts the offer and gives up his dream of being a chief engineer on a starship to learn the ancient art of spycraft.
During his learning process, he meets a bank robbing computer genius, a sociopathic despot, and a Romulan assassin with emerald green eyes who inspires him in ways neither of them could have imagined.
This would be a lot for most people to handle during their career but for Jax, it's just his first year out of the Academy.
