At the start I was unsure of how much I would be able to get into this book. It felt like I'd been thrown in the middle of a world with little or no context. Good news though, things start to become clearer rather quickly. This story is an interesting mix of supernatural elements, that deviates a little from the typical lore. <- A plus in my mind, because I love a twist on old legends. The only real complaints I have are: some of the scene shifts were not entirely clear until well into the scene, and some of the slang used should have been defined a little earlier in (or maybe that is just more of a USA reader problem). Otherwise, a solid read. I look forward to reading what happens next.

This is a fantasy and suspenseful story, with magic. It’s slow start in the beginning and it gets interesting when the reader continues on. The story shows the reader what some mothers would do for their child, at any cost. It’s a nice fantasy read with great characters.
