There is much discussion today about the origin of dreams and their meaning. The Bible teaches that dreams are spiritual messages from God. Because they’re spiritual in nature, they are (usually) symbolic. The meaning of a dream can be understood once its symbolic elements are decoded. Dreams reveal our future, our talents, our assignments, and our divine destiny.
With the same down-to-earth teaching style used in Hearing God’s Voice Made Simple and Seeing in the Spirit Made Simple, Praying Medic provides Bible-based teaching on the nature of dreams and their meaning. The most common dreams types and themes are examined. Dozens of dreams are provided and their meanings are explained. You’ll learn to distinguish between literal and symbolic dreams, you’ll discover how to have more dreams and how to deal with nightmares. A glossary of over 700 dream symbols is included as well as a list of more than 400 names and their meanings. If you want to know what God is saying through your dreams, this book is for you!

I have had significant dreams over the years. By “significant” I mean dreams that I still remember most of or parts of decades later. I never saw them as necessarily messages from God, something I would do well to take note of, write down, look at or pray for interpretation of… or ask if there were a message of any kind in them.
I have had other people tell me their dreams and ask me what I thought they may mean. I would usually have a sense of what they may mean and, based on responses by those people, my “speculation” would resonate more often than not. Never gave that much thought or notice either.
Now I hear this former-atheist praying medic share all these Scriptural stories of “biblical dreamers” and sharing dreams he has had and how God teaches him all kinds of things through his dreams and I start to wonder if maybe I have been missing something all this time.
Now in fairness, most of my dreams in my early years would be more fairly described as “nightmares” and “night terrors,” but there have been significant exceptions as well.
So, I got his book on Dream Interpretation to take a closer look at what he has say on the subject. Partly out of curiosity and partly because I have been having a lot of dreams since Oct 2021 which has heightened that curiosity. (Actually, was having quite a few dreams in recent years but have not paid them much attention.)
Good decision. I have been trying to at least get notes on every dream I remember the past several months, since the spigot seems to have been opened, so I would have dreams to “play with” after reading this book. The more I note, the more I seem to remember. Now, I’m actually telling myself in dreams to “remember this one and write it down as soon as you can.” Seriously.
Having finished the book this evening, it is obvious I’m going to be reading it again and referring to information in this book for at least the foreseeable future… cuz I have got at least two dozen or more dreams of which I have little idea what they may mean or have clues but can see there is more there I am missing.
If you have a lot of dreams, I encourage you to write them down as soon as you can, whatever you can remember.
If, like me for years, you “never dream,” ask HolySpirit to make you aware of your dreams when you dream and to speak to you through dreams.
In the meantime, if you would like a biblically based fairly quick read on the subject, this is a great one to begin with.
I recommend all his books. I have listened to audiobooks of two others, I used to follow him on Twitter, now follow the Praying Medic Channel on Telegram, seen a number of videos he does on spiritual matters and they are all challenging me in new spiritual growth and confidence. Frankly, some of it challenged my spiritual comfort and got me asking HolySpirit for confirmation or negation a few times. Not gotten a negative response yet.
“Seek ye first the Kingdom…” I have been doing just that for the last 5-6 years on an expanding level that seems to grow exponentially lately. Unlike anything ever before. And that is saying something.
If things have been feeling a little lukewarm, stale, or rote… I encourage you to check out Praying Medic on his website or Rumble. If things stay that way long, you probably are paying insufficient attention. 😆
The only reason I gave this book one star is because there isn’t an option for no stars. He says that the traditional churches don’t work with him and there is a reason. HE IS A CHARLATAN!! He writes things with nothing to back it up. He will throw in a verse out of context from the Bible that really has nothing to do with what he writes. He has grandiose ideas of himself even claiming to be a prophet. When the Bible was complete there no longer was a need for prophets. I would warn people to beware. Read your Bible, go to a reformed church or read books by Spurol, Jeffers, Jeramiah or MacCarther. You can also subscribe to YouTube classes from Gordon Conwell as well as other Schools of Theology. Pray for discernment.
It's good, and yes, it does what it says, which is help to make dream interpretation simple. The stories are also very encouraging. The writing itself is not great quality, however, and he does not lay out some important boundaries and words of caution I think are important. Both of these lacking elements can be found in a different book: "The Complete Guide to Dream Interpretation" by Marsha Trimble Dunstan, which also gives simple and clear steps for interpretation.
