My nightmare’s not over. It’s just beginning.

I killed the sorcerer that turned my life into a living hell, but instead of getting better, my world is falling apart. New threats lurk in every shadow, and I still don’t have the answers I need.

The cops want me to betray the pack, the pack wants me to betray my family, and servants of a dark god are hunting me for my blood. I’ve turned into one of the monsters I feared most, and I have no idea why. Worse, I can’t control the beast inside me.

I need to find a way to break this curse before my family discovers my secret—before my fated mate, Jaxson Laurent, claims me as his own. He’s as hot as sin, and I can barely restrain myself when he’s near, but I won’t let him rule me and I won’t let the fates determine my path.

When I finally unmask the dark lies that have haunted my life, will I be strong enough to face the truth?

Slight frustration...that is how I feel after reading book 3.

First let me say, the storyline continues to be wonderful. Plenty of twists and turns. Plenty of action.
I continue to like the character growth of Savy and the new strengths she gains. The mystery is still strong and exciting.

Now where it is going a little wrong for me.... Savy's continued denial of the mate bond with Jax. We are on book 3 and I would have expected this aspect, at least, to be solved and strong. This lack of commitment is annoying for me. Makes Savy come off a little stubborn but not in a cute ha-ha kinda way.

I am looking forward to book 4, and in great hope this romance becomes solid.

Happy reading,
DD 🥂

“The rabbit is in the house of the wolf, and we have entered an age of darkness. ”

Totalmente recomendados.

A lesser installment

I didn't really enjoy this book. The last two were far better, in my opinion. I think the monotonous will they won't they and a spirit they repeatedly kill only to have him pop back up just made it feel as though I was reading the same thing again and again and I was bored. I struggled thru the last half of the book. I don't think I care enough to go on to book 4. I didn't enjoy how heavy handed the Alpha is, how our fmc keeps saying she's not gonna bow down, but she does while her wolf is giddy about being ordered around. It felt disjointed, even tho I get the whole twin souls, dual views bit, it just didn't ring true for me.

The people of Magic Side just can’t catch a break, can they? Plot wise, DARK LIES was an amazing third installment. There was no shortage of action to keep me interested, and the stakes just keep getting higher and higher with more mystery and more lore to discover. If you’re like me and enjoy investigations, this series will certainly cater to your needs! I loved seeing Savy getting closer and more in tune with her wolf and watching her slowly easing into the pack dynamic. The only reason why I feel like I enjoyed this third installment a tiny bit less than the previous two—apart from the fact that I missed Casey on a soul-deep level— was the stall in the relationship between Savy and Jaxson. I guess with a slow burn romance suffering is part of the deal, and there were some baby steps forward, but I find myself so aggravated by Savy’s continued desire to reject her feelings for Jaxson. Ignoring the magical implications of their bond, there’s undeniable attraction and the two have gone through a lot together. After three books, her attitude starts feeling too much like blind stubbornness. Stop fighting it, woman! I might suddenly make a cameo in the next book and take Jaxson for myself.

Overall, I really enjoyed this third adventure in Magic Side, and I can’t wait for the epic conclusion to this series!

I very much enjoyed this third installment in the Wolf Marked series for the plot, which doesn’t fail to keep me interested, and its characters, that I adore. However, by the third book I was hoping that the romance would be more solid, and while it does seem to move a step forward and spice up, Savy’s still denying her undeniable connection to Jaxson. Her desire for independence comes off as stubbornness after they’ve been through so much together. Just be happy, you two, please! I was also missing Casey. He’s such a fun character and probably my favorite in the series, so I was sad that we didn’t get to see him a lot in this book.

I’m looking forward to the last book in the series and see how everything wraps up! Hopefully Jaxson and Savy will finally come together.

I NEED BOOK 4 ASAP.

This just has so much packed into them. Like yes, KU advertises them as romance...but they are so much more. There is romance and adventure, betrayal, secrets, poor Savannah is having something sprung on her every other chapter.

Another DNF…. Such a shame as I had really enjoyed this series….. but this book is just a repeat of all the same problems in the last two books over and over and over. Will they ever get together? Past caring!

There we go. This was a well rounded and better paced installment in the series. I felt like the series got back the life the second book sucked out 😂

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

Pros:
-more character driven
-past paced
-action packed
-that ending
-finally a steamy scene (only took 2.5 books)
-Character growth (not a ton, but it’s there)

Cons:
-I want more from the characters.
-a bit too much telling (show me the feelings!)
-not enough explanation with the magic
-unnecessary family drama (felt a bit forced)
-still not enough from our secondary characters
-convenient plot points
-conflict just disappears? What happened with that camp?

Generally not perfect, I’m really hoping for a banger conclusion. The second half of this book has me excited about the last book! A lot of potential.

Absolutely action packed! I sped through this, keen to find out what happened next. The characters continue to grow and develop which really rounded out the whole book nicely. I'm keen to move on to the next and final instalment of the series.

Disclaimer: This review may contain minor spoilers for previous books in the series. Read at your own discretion.

I have been looking forward to reading this book for what feels like forever. It hasn't actually been forever since the last book was released but my anticipation for this book has been killing me.

When I first started this series I was immediately drawn into this world. This book definitely carries that torch for this series. I have been totally invested in this series since the first book and this book picks up right where things left off in the second book. I really love the imaginative and well-developed world-building in this series. In Dark Lies, the reader gets to travel to some new interesting places and I thought that the world-building for these places was really well done. The authors always keep the story interesting and I was constantly on the edge of my seat. This book is really fast-paced, which works perfectly for this type of story.

I really loved the character growth in this book. Both Savy and Jaxson experience a lot of change in this book. I loved how Savy really connected with her wolf side in this book. She got to see what it meant to be part of a pack and she was able to see that she had a place where she belonged. Savy received some distressing news in this book and she felt betrayed by those that she hoped she could trust. Though she experienced many losses in this book she still held strong and did what she felt was right for her. Jaxson's personality feels a bit different in this book and I think it is because he is finally accepting of Savy as his mate. In the last book, he thought that it was a mistake and wanted the bond reversed but his tune has pretty much changed. It was a fairly subtle change though. He isn't pressuring Savy for anything but he is very clear to her that she is his mate and he doesn't hold back his feelings about it. He isn't pushing her to accept their mate bond and he isn't trying to convince her to give him a chance. He is just accepting of her and shows her that she has a place in his pack. It's clear by his actions that he cares about Savy and that his previous thoughts about her have changed. We also get to see Jaxson interact with his father and I think that there is a lot of baggage for him there. I think that Savy and Jaxson still have a lot to face and a lot to come to terms with before they could ever be more to each other though. Jaxson's pack has been warring with her family for a long time and even though his pack has accepted Savy I think that both Savy and Jaxson will have to make amends with her family before they can move forward. I am interested in seeing how things play out.

The romance in this series finally gets turned up a notch in this book. While Savy and Jaxson are still uncertain about their future together, they do finally give in to their feelings a bit in this book. Their shared chemistry could be seen from a mile away. And it's so awesome to see each of them show their affection for one another through small gestures and actions. While there hasn't been any sort of commitment or acceptance of their mate bond, it is clear that they are heading in the right direction. I am excited to see where the rest of their journey takes them.

Overall, this was an exciting addition to this series that kept me on my toes. There were shocking revelations, excellent character growth, and an unpredictable plot that kept me wanting more. If you love urban fantasy or paranormal romance with wolf shifters and magic then you'll love this story. I am so stoked to find out what this author duo has in store for us in the final book of this series.

"Dark Lies" is an excellent new installment in the Wolf Bound series. This time Savannah is struggling with being a werewolf and telling her Aunt. However, before she can get her head screwed on tightly she is attacked and almost kidnapped by a three bikers with double wolf tattoos. The want her blood in order to continue to make the latest drug on the streets known as Scarlet.

After this first attack, Jaxson is livid that someone has tried to take his mate. He is biding his time and trying not to scare Savannah off but he also has an overwhelming need to protect her. While her car is being repaired, Jaxson enlists her help in working at the bar. What a mistake that was as every man in the place is hitting on her. Of course when Jaxson sends Savannah home with a guard he was expecting that she would be attacked again. This is getting serious and the one truth in all of this confusion is that the man behind all of this is Dragan. Some way, somehow, he has found a way to influence people though he is dead. Quickly they come to the realization that he is a ghost and is body hopping.

When Savannah facing her Aunt about the truth of her birth and heritage things do not go well. Before her Aunt can bind her wolf, she runs off to Jaxson. They decide to work together in order to find a way to take Dragan down. It is not going to be easy and there are many prophecies at play. Some say that ignorance is bliss; well, not this time. Ignorance is lethal!

There are many twists and turns in this fun little gem as well as plenty of action and betrayals. Yet, in the middle of everything Savannah and Jaxson's best hope is in each other. However, trust is not always easy. The ending sheds a whole new light on possibilities for the future and none of it seems good. I can't wait to read what will happen next in book four.

Man! These two just can't catch break. Just when it seems like they're going to work things out, fate or whatever the neck that's after them gets in the way again. Fate sucks!

a good story but lacking character development

I enjoyed this 3rd book. It had lots of plot twists and action scenes. There is a lot scammed in. I did find myself skimming a little bit during the longer winded parts. My biggest problem with it was the lack or growth or development between Savy and Jax. I hate their lack of communication and weird dynamics. I think it would be stronger if they figured that out and it wasn’t left up in the air. I also hated the intimate scene. It felt so forced and wrong. I mean she’s thinking about how much she dislikes him and does want to be owned. Relationships aren’t about “owning”. The ending wasn’t my fave for the same reason. I don’t mind a cliffhanger but the push and pull between the two of them is exhausting at this point. I don’t know if I will read book 4.

Best book of the series so far.

The whole prophecy storyline is intriguing and it makes sense that Savannah was the one who would fulfil it even if she didn’t do it intentionally.

Interesting to see what becomes of them all in the last book. I really want to see what Jaxsons dad will do when he finds out about Savy. I want to know what happened between the families after they defeated Dragan the first time and how it lead the Savannahs family killing Stephanie (or did they and Jaxsons dad is just blaming them?). I want to see what happens to Bentham prison now it is basically destroyed. Will the witch get her unbreakable gravestone? Because Savannah has yet to deliver her side of the deal and the ghost said she will haunt her and she still can because Savy is still missing part of her soul.

I’m interested to see how this will play out and how she will get that part of her soul back to try and stop the Dark God. Hopefully the Moon Goddess will help as she loves her children or Savy can put him back into an endless sleep.

Now for my MAJOR issue with this whole entire damn series! I HATE HATE HATE how much Savannah is fighting Jaxson. I get she is 2 separate souls in one body but her wolf clearly wants to submit/be with her alpha/mate but she is always pushing it and clearly doesn’t trust her wolf to be a god damn wolf. I feel Jaxsons frustration with her. We’re onto book 3 now and she has clearly accepted her wolf… she won’t allow her aunt to bind her wolf again and now has the wolf tattoo to say she has accepted who she is, she accepts her pack (but in other moments only refers to it as Jaxsons pack) but she still bitches and moans whenever Jaxson tries to bring her into pack life. She’s basically lost her family because of what has happened to her because of them but for some reason she doesn’t want to accept any help in the form of her new family In the wolves even though she’s told multiple times by multiple people she is family and has everyone behind her.

I don’t know if the author is making this choice for some major revelation (maybe she a stronger alpha than Jaxson and feels she should be alpha?) I don’t know but this whole wanting to be alone and not accept help or anything is making her come across as a moody prissy pissed off teenager who only wants to push against every single thing in life just to be difficult. Yeah she is a kickass female and she should bow down to people but she’s just coming across in the wrong way and I don’t feel like she has made ANY character development in this sense her only character development has been with she powers and her skills. I get people need time alone and this has only been placed over 3 weeks and she hasn’t had any alone time since this happened but why doesn’t she have time to herself when she runs alone and think things through. She’s had time and now I feel like she is pushing back and rebelling because it’s expected. I hope she grows in the next book.

Again I’ll finish the series but won’t re read it because of Savannah and her attitude and I can’t stand an MC that doesn’t have any personal growth over 3 whole books.

This book was such a wild ride! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Savy and Jaxson's relationship develop over the past three books. While I wish they were together already, I also understand the need for such a slow burn because it would not be true to their characters if they instantly accepted the mate bond.

Dark Lies begins right where book two ended, with Savy still coming to terms with the fact that she is not one, but a mix of two supernatural creatures as well as her place in Magic Side and her growing attraction to sexy alpha Jaxson Laurent. They are both still trying to defeat Dragan before he can complete his ritual and wreak havoc on everything they hold near and dear.

I thought the pacing of the book was very good, and I enjoyed that it was longer than the previous books in the series--we got to see even more character development and a very interesting and intriguing plot.

Something I really liked reading in this book was Savy becoming more comfortable in her own skin and abilities. She is such a strong and fiery person and a force to be reckoned with. She is definitely a good mate for Jaxson. (when they finally accept the mate bond, of course)

However, the cliffhanger ending broke my heart! How am I supposed to wait until May for the next book in the series? I predict that I will devour that book in a day because of how many questions I was left with after finishing Dark Lies. I highly recommended everything Veronica Douglas writes!!!

Could Savannah be anymore annoying?! With her ridiculous stubborn rebelliousness. Freaks out if anyone tells her what to do especially Jaxson. She literally has no reason to have that many issues! It really pisses me off and is so old now. When will she learn?! Along with How much Jaxson cares about her for some horrible reason, which can only be the bond. She blatantly disregards his feelings and orders/suggestions. She won’t listen to anyone but herself and that is stupidly immature. Especially since she’s pretty dumb most of the time and messes everything up. You’d think by now she’d realize she shouldn’t trust herself. She’s a wreaking ball. And now she’s running again. She couldn’t solve ANY of the previous problems alone (as much as she’d like to think she could), she couldn’t. Now she thinks she can solve the craziest one alone. It’s just total stupidity and I can’t stand her character. Not sure I’ll even finish the last one. It’s probably just as disappointing.

It was really more of a 3.5 ⭐️. I liked it but it wasn’t as good as the first 2 and was very much the same as the last one. I am still excited for the final book. And I do love Savy as the main character. She is pretty bad ass.

Strong FC/Shifter-Mage/Enemies to Lovers

SYNOPSIS (4 Book Series): The FC‘s parents died in a fire when she was 16 and she went to live with her godmother. One night she is attacked by, what she later discovers are, werewolves. This starts the FC on a track to find out who she actually is and who her parents were. The MC is the Alpha of a large pack which has a deep hatred of the FC‘s family who, amongst other things, killed the MC‘s sister. The story arcs over 4 books during which the FC is being hunted for her blood and by a madman intent on stealing part of her soul and tries to stop the Dark Wolf God from being raised - something which has been prophesied will occur as a result of the actions of a twin soul. She has to fight the prejudice of the wolfpack and work out who she can trust. As the story develops so does the relationship between the FC and the MC. Whilst none of the books end on a cliffhanger and are almost self contained stories they are still part of the main 4 book story arc. There are dramas and everything builds up to the final showdown in Book 4 with a HEA.

The books are well written with some good humorous bits especially in the conversations between the FC and her inner self. The FC is strong, intelligent and kick ass and the interplay between her and the MC is good with a strong push and pull. Initially she fights her attraction to him and there is a deep distrust on both sides that has to be overcome. She does not allow herself to be walked over which makes for a great change to the norm. The MC comes across as a strong, possessive and gorgeous Alpha who fights his connection to the FC and, whilst frustrated by her, respects her. There‘s the obligatory BFF that the FC makes and she develops a strong connection to her cousin. Generally there is a good backstory which is built up through the books for both the FC and the MC. The only criticism I have is that I felt there should have been more explanation as to how the sister died and how the Alpha‘s father betrayed the La Salle‘s. There seemed to be some gaps in the backstory there. I felt that something was being set up and the author forgot to close them out.

There‘s no epilogue which would have been good and I would have liked to have had a scene with the council wolves grovelling. I also felt that the about turn of the MC‘s father was a bit sudden and also dealt with too quickly.

On the heat level - there‘s great chemistry between the characters with a slow burn build up. The sex scenes are well written but not overly graphic and relatively short. Unlike a lot of books they are also used appropriately - by that I mean the author does not make every other chapter a sex scene to pad out the series!

Overall I very much enjoyed this series.

I am severely disappointed with this book. Book 1 was so entertaining I FLEW through the pages, book two was a bit more involved but just as riveting. This book, not so much.

First let's start with Savannah. Her absolute refusal to even acknowledge that there is mate bond is SO BORING!!! You already lust after this man (even when he makes you want to be violent) yet it UNBELIEVABLE that there might be a REASON you are drawn to him.
We get to 95% of BOOK THREE before she even admits it, and means it. She is coming off as a serious pain with all her denial of all things she doesn't want to deal with.

Jaxson is annoying because he is so high handed with Savannah yet gets frustrated when she just bucks the system. Hello... telling someone they have to listen to you because you're in charge (i.e alpha of the pack) does not force compliance or even begrudging submission.

The prophecy... it keeps growing.. then changing.. then there are several. Being spoon fed info like this is tedious and irritating. It also makes it hard to actually care. Then there is the Freddy Kreuger wanna be that just will NOT die.... get another bad guy.. this is boring

BOOK 3 around 85% is the FIRST (and only, so far) time they were intimate!!

The burn in this series is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLOW that I honestly don't even care if they end up together. I am bored of it. I am bored of the back and forth. I am bored OF THE ENDLESS PAGES OF REPETITION!! I AM BORED!!

It took about 4 days to force my way through this book. Even though I want to know what happens I just cant read another rerun.

Ooh, we are heating up! So Savy managed to kill Kahanov but the souls of Dragan lives in. That little wound in her shoulder - yeh, turns out it killed a bit of her soul so now she can see the other side. Learnt that little bit from a dead witch who she now owes an I destructable headstone to.

Finally, Savy and Jax get it on ! I had a feeling it would happen after some heavy shit, and it did!
It took killing a vampire who decided she was too delicious to finally spark that flame. But it was quick and short lived. Savy is clinging to her independence by her fingernails... Or is that claws?

How they got there? Well, they needed the bo e of Dragans finger the vampire sliced off to make a talisman to hold his soul.

It worked in the end, but it turned out that that was the final sacrifice to release the dark god. All that battle and mayhem in Bentham prison for nothing really.

Oh, and let's not forget that Savy learns her mother was a wolf and she had her wold bound as a kid. So that kinda broke the relationship with the La Salles.

Captivating With A Horrible Twist At The End!😍😲🐺✨
I Loved This One!🐺💘💥
(Read Using Kindle Unlimited)
Dark Lies (Magic Side: Wolf Bound #3)

I really got back into the entire experience of the book with this instalment. Savannah showed zero hate towards any of the wolves in Jaxson's pack, her pack now. She had even excepted her own wolf.😍 I'm so relieved that nastiness is over as it ruined book 2 for me!😔

This storyline continued at pace from the end of book 2. There are shocks and reveals that take both Savannah and Jaxson by surprise! There is much more cooperation with the Order, and even Aunt Laurel helps with information!😳 Savannah is still stubborn as heck, but it's clear it's from fear of losing her independence and control over her own person/life.

The huge twist at the end shook me, I didn't see it coming at all. I had something else in my head for book 4, silly me.🤦😆 I can't wait to get started!⭐

In this book, Savannah is definitely learning a lot more about herself than previous book. Unfortunately, for her, when she tells her aunt about her wolf, Savannah found out that it is worse than she thought. When her aunt tries to cast a spell on her, Savannah attacks her with her wolf and is caught by her cousin. Now she’s not sure if her cousin and her aunt hate her because she’s a wolf or not. Not only does she have family problems, but she still has that crazy sorcerer ghost after her. Apparently he wants to wake the dark wolf God and Savannah is the key to doing that. The only thing I did not like about this book is the fact that Savannah does not want to be ruled by her feelings for Jackson and she wants to be the one to decide whether she wants to be with him not some fate stuff but yet every time she’s around him, she acts like a lovesick fool, and can’t seem to get her head on straight. I will definitely reread the next book in the series.
