Sometimes you just get a fun, short holiday story that keeps you reading all sixty-eight pages until you reach the end. Author Shelley White in “Ginger Snapped,” does just that.
When five friends from all parts of the country meet in frozen northern Arkansas for a winter camping reunion, complete with freezing temperatures and snow, the fun begins. Former Scissortail Scout Chelsea Davis, from Oklahoma, is not fond of the cold, but her adventurous nature into nature keeps her repeatedly being rescued by Ranger Eli Vance. Chelsea has sworn off men and dating; Eli has sworn off red heads and involvement with customers who are camping in the state park.
Chelsea does layouts for local magazines, but wants to start her own photography business and the state park is an ideal place to snap a few winter pictures. It’s also an ideal place to get lost…and rescued. The problem is how can a relationship work across the miles between Oklahoma and Arkansas?
This is a delightful story filled with friendship interactions, cookies, personality quirks, and lots of snow for an enjoyable two-hour cozy read. And there’s a delicious ginger snap recipe included as well.

Ginger Snapped was such a fun read filled with friendship and great characters. Shelly White has a wonderfully smooth writing style that brings the scenes alive. She had me hooked from page one. I enjoy books that show friends being supportive and friendships that have lasted through the years. Add the possibility of a budding romance and you have my attention. It was a pleasant surprise to find both of these things in this book. I loved all of Chelsea’s friends, each of whom had different personalities and added depth to the story.
This is a delightful book to snuggle up with this holiday. You might even find yourself swooning for a very handsome and chivalrous park ranger. I know I did.

Sweet Holiday Romance
Ginger Snapped (Christmas Cookies) is a sweet holiday romance. The author certainly knows her way around cold-weather camping. Loved her description of the layering of clothes!! Nice cozy: no graphic violence or sexual situations.

This was short and sweet, but even more it was a fun read. The characters were realistic and the romance natural. I don’t normally read romance but this was fun.
