After the events of Nightmare, Eden and Darius are finally together, even if their forbidden relationship must remain a secret. Their separation becomes even more difficult to navigate as the darkness taking over the Dream Realm gradually increases, stealing the light and trapping Mortals in their dreams. Soon a different type of magic begins to threaten their paired union, one that is not only robbing them of their powers but which could separate them if they don't find a way to stop it. Despite their diminishing powers, Eden and Darius are determined to discover the source of the darkness and find a way to stop it from completely destroying the balance of the Dream and Nightmare World forever.

Camille Peters was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where she grew up surrounded by books. As a child, she spent every spare moment reading and writing her own stories on every scrap of paper she could find. Becoming an author was always more than a childhood dream; it was a certainty.

Her love of writing grew alongside her as she took local writing classes in her teens, spent a year studying Creative Writing at the English University of Northampton, and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in English and History. She’s now blessed to be a full-time author.

When she’s not writing she’s thinking about writing, and when’s she’s not thinking about writing she’s…alright, she’s always thinking about writing, but she can also be found reading, at the piano, playing board games with her family and friends, or taking long, bare-foot walks as she lives inside her imagination and brainstorms more tales.

Insomnia was definitely a labor of love, written through a period of writing burnout with a plot that was more complicated and difficult than I’m accustomed to. But my writing was sustained, and I ended up enjoying the journey much more than I ever thought. I am very pleased and proud of the growth I experienced throughout the writing process, as well as the story that resulted. I love these characters and their world and I hope you enjoy their new adventures and their deepening romance as much as I do.

This was a nice addition to this series. It was very interesting. We did have some revelations and learned some new information, though a good portion of this book was focused on the romance. I'm surprised to admit this but I found myself going back and forth about the romance at first, though I did eventually find myself in full support of the couple. I have loved Darius, the amazing, supportive, most adorable cinnamon roll but at first, I did question how he could be so true to Eden when she hasn't always been entirely true to him. I do understand that the connection did play a part and now I'm seeing their relationship really develop and become something beautiful. It just seemed at first that Eden was only taking from Darius and he was giving everything to her. Of course, Eden has and is experiencing so much growth, and it is very evident in this book. While at first, I did struggle with this, as this story progressed it became clear their reciprocation of love and the sacrifices they made for each other. I don't mean to say that I don't like Eden. I like her very much as the main character I just struggled at first to make sense of how their love could have blossomed at first.

There were quite a few plot twists as well. Some were unexpected, and some, I had the pleasure of guessing just before it was revealed. The progression of the story was interesting and totally sucked me in after a little while. That cliffhanger was definitely a hard one... I'm not quite sure what to expect but I am definitely reading the next book!!

Overall, I really did like this book! At first, I struggled to get into the book but at some point I got totally immersed. I would definitely recommend this series because it really is so good! Hope is an element beautifully woven into this story.

*Thank you so much for the arc copy! These thoughts are my own!*

CONTENT: Clean romance. See Spoilers for more details. Clean language, very little violence.
SPOILERS: There are two intimate moments between a married couple. It is led up to in a reverent, clean manner. We don't see it or hear about it at all. It is merely implied in a clean way.

Insomnia is finally out! I have been super excited for this book for a while. Finally having Darius and Eden together! And maybe finding out what exactly Ebony is planning.
Eden and Darius are finally together, but can they take whatever chaos Ebony is planning. Ebony is doing something with her plants that they don’t understand. All they know is that she wants Eden to get pure fear for her from dreams. But what is she going to do with that powerful emotion?
Our girl is growing up! Honestly, seeing Eden in this book is so fun because she really has grown a ton in this series. I loved watching her truly make an effort and decide to not keep secrets or go down that dark path. There were still moments where she faltered which was sometimes frustrating. But she was truly trying to change and especially not to keep secrets from Darius. It was sweet to watch Darius and Eden finally be together with no secrets.
Darius is in Insomnia a lot more than the other ones, and they are so cute together! They finally got Paired which essentially means they got married in this book. So there are two fade to black scenes. And I have been a Darius fan since day 1, and he just got more adorable in this book. Definitely book boyfriend material ;) It’s sweet to watch him with Eden, and I love how he doesn’t try to control her. He won’t let her self destruct, but he knows there are some dangerous things she has to do.
And there is a lot more danger in this book too! Ebony is seriously evil, and her plan is extremely complicated. I liked finding out a little bit more about what she was doing, and I’m super excited to see how Peters wraps it all up!
This is a clean, fantasy romance that I would totally recommend! There were some slow moments for me, but overall I really enjoyed this book!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review

I have been eagerly anticipating the release of Insomnia ever since I read the first two books in this series last year and loved them! This world that Camille Peter’s has created is just so cool!

I loved getting to see Eden and Darius again! I’ve grown to love these characters and their story. It’s been so sweet watching them grow in their relationship.
The romance was a little more than I typically prefer in the beginning (clean, just more kissing than I prefer). I think it was just because I was anxious/excited to move on in the plot and see what was going to happen next. That being said, I do love Darius and Eden together!

The plot was fast-paced and intriguing, especially towards the end! While there were a few times it felt slow to me, the ending definitely had me turning pages and I ended up finishing it in a day. That ending! I need to know what happens ASAP. I can’t wait for Daybreak!

Overall, Insomnia was great and I’m so excited for the rest of Eden and Darius’s story!

Insomnia was such an incredible continuation of The Dream World Chronicles, filled with so much magic, action, adventure, and especially romance. I was in love with Darius before reading this book, but I’ve only fallen deeper in love with him upon finishing it! He is such a fantastic hero, and Eden has grown so much; it’s such a pleasure experiencing the story through her perspective.

The romance between Eden and Darius was absolutely beautiful and even magical. I adored watching it unfold, especially with the manifestation of their unique powers that both drew them closer together and provided new challenges. The plot was thoroughly engaging and well-paced; I couldn't put the book down, and am already eager for the next installment that will allow me to finally discover the fate of this fascinating world and these beloved characters. Highly recommended for all lovers of fantasy, new worlds, and sweet romance.

This story is a mix of light and darkness. I knew it would contain darkness, which made me feel a bit tentative about reading it. But after rereading parts of the previous book to remind me of plot points, I was anxious to read this next part of Eden and Darius's journey. And once I started reading, it was difficult to put the book down.

This story reminded me to hope no matter the darkness that might come. I look forward to reading the next book and seeing how the journey continues.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is book 3 of 4 (the last book is currently planned to release in 2023)

– this is told from Eden’s point of view

– there are nightmares depicted and fear caused by them to multiple characters

Review:

I found this story to be very interesting! I liked getting even more information about the origins of the Dream/Nightmare worlds as well as more about the origins of Eden herself. Some of the new information I was able to guess partway through the story before it actually came to light, but I do still have some questions about them that I’m hoping get answered in the last book. And the other information was a bit surprising and I’m curious to see where it leads. I loved the scenes where Eden and Darius explored their Paired relationship and how their powers combined between them. I loved that they both were in awe of the powers they got to experience themselves/together. I also loved some of the things that occurred towards the end like reconciliation and when they worked together to solve problems instead of trying to be a lone wolf and do things on their own.

Summary:

Eden and Darius have chosen to have a relationship together, despite almost all the voices around them saying that it’s impossible and forbidden. But in public they need to keep it a secret because they fear what their mothers would do to keep them apart. Between trying to solve and stop Ebony’s plan for the Dream world, the two spend as much time as they can being together and learning more about their magical connection.

But that connection is soon threatened by more than just the expected. A new threat is affecting their powers and causing them to have fluctuating effectiveness in what they can do. They worry over this new issue, but are determined to stay together and end the never ending nightmares plaguing the humans on Earth. But they can’t do it alone, not with their unreliable magic…

The world Camille Peters has created for the Dream World Chronicles is fascinating and enchanting--and I loved getting introduced to more details, legends, and magical aspects of that world in this installment. I loved getting to explore Eden's unique powers further and seeing how those powers were affected by her (finally!) being with Darius. I also loved that Eden was finally confident (for the most part) in her relationship with Darius--she has had to grow a lot over the course of these books. I can't wait to read the last book, in which I assume we will really get to see Eden bloom and come into her own. I have been dying to see her really stand up for herself and be confident and strong without being prideful. I saw glimpses of that Eden in this book, but I hope she will emerge full force in the next one.
I felt like the pace of the book lagged from time to time, and like in the other books in this series, I did have a hard time being patient with Eden, so that is why it isn't a five star rating from me. There were so many times I wanted to throttle Eden--but thankfully far fewer times than in the preceding books. I am excited for how much she is growing, though.
Highly recommend this series to those who love fantasy, sweet clean romance (huge bravo to the closed door aspect of this book), unique/creative/magical details, and lovable characters.

I must admit, it has been such a while since I read the second (and first) one that it took me a little bit to get back into the story. However, Camille does a fantastic job of easing the reader into the world and reminding us who all the characters are.

I really, really enjoyed exploring Eden and Darius' relationship, even as they fight for it through difficulty. There were several twists and turns throughout this book that I absolutely did not see coming, but were spectacularly set up.

I would like to point out that as much as I've enjoyed this series and the characters are very dear to me, it is dark. Yes, themes of hope and fighting through hard things are seen throughout (perhaps mental illness?), but it is challenging to read at times. I am very committed this far into the series, but it is something to keep in mind if you are considering reading.

Also, Eden's character doesn't see as much growth in this installment as I was hoping. Yes, she does overcome (or at least begin to overcome) some of her struggles, but it takes such a large portion of the book for that and I was really hoping after Nightmare, we would see more of her healing and recovery.

BUT! Camille's writing has just gotten better and better and better. Her imagery is astounding and really adds to the incredible worldbuilding.

4.5/5 Stars

I liked this book better than the first two in the series. After the previous events, Eden is more mature and grew a conscious. Her character growth arc is dramatic, and this book sets up a promising conclusion to her journey. I am looking forward to seeing her be able to stand on her own. Darius was great in this book; always supportive of Eden. There were some other great characters both new and old that make an appearance.

The plot is getting thicker and more tense, though I think there was less development in the overall story in this book compared to the previous ones. We spend a lot of time focusing on Eden and Darius. There are many twists throughout this book which kept my interest.

I didn’t rate this book 5 stars because I don’t think it’s as well-written as some of her other books. Note that although this book is clean it has some references to sleeping together and moments where we know that’s where the couple are heading. Nonetheless, the book’s plot really picked up at the end, and I’m excited to see how this series ends in the next book!

(I received an arc for this book. All of my opinions are strictly my own.)

I am not okay. The ending to this book threw me for a loop, and I literally am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one. I cannot describe how amazing I found this book to be.

I love the relationship between Eden and Darius. They are so sweet and so strongly connected to one another. I love Darius's sweet devotion to Eden and the fact that he is willing to do anything for her. They are just too cute!!!

This book is a continuation of a series, so it is very important to read the first two books first. I personally loved the storyline, since it was so creative and beyond what I had even imagined it would be.

I still need to find out what Eden really is though, and the extent of her powers. So interesting!!!!

I definitely recommend reading this book. It's such an invigorating read.

Beautifully written with twists and turns that will completely blindside you, Insomnia is a wonderful addition to this series. This is not a stand alone book. You really need to read the first two, or you will get lost.

Definitely the most action packed out of the series so far, it almost never has a dull moment. You will get swept from one situation to the next with a semi cliffhanger ending. I cannot wait for the next book!! I'm so excited to see how everything turns out.

Lots of foreshadowing and clues are left in this book. Lots of character growth. I really like how the pairs are so special and supportive. It's looked at as an honor to have a pair, mostly, which is a wonderful perspective.

Thank you for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair review. The ideas and thoughts in this review are my own.

Insomnia is a great latest installment in the Dream World series. Eden and Darius are finally together, but the adventure is definitely not stopping there. This book had so many twists and turns that surprised me as they uncovered new horrible plans from Eden's mother, tried to find solutions to their weakening powers, and learned new lore about the Dream World founding and magical objects. The new turns kept me wondering what was next and how they would conquer each new obstacle on their way to the ultimate showdown in the last book. I am so ready for Eden and Darius and their friends to defeat her awful, manipulative mother and save the Dream world.

Definitely a fun read and I look forward to the conclusion in the last book!

Ohhh my goodness, this book had SO many fun twists and turns I did not see coming!!! It is so wonderful having Darius and Eden together at last, and seeing how they confront a whole new set of obstacles. It is so incredible seeing Eden explore, and test the limits of her magic. There are more magical elements of the Dream and Nightmare world we get to learn about in this story! I just love the characters in this book, and seeing how two worlds come together to solve problems.

So many exciting things happen in this story!! I am dying to see what happens in the final book!!

The story continues, with Darius and Eden becoming closer than they ever were before... though sadly not for long. Along the way we see them developing new powers as they explore dreams that are becoming increasingly hostile... all because of Eden's mother and her lust for power. But we also learn more about their world, including Eden's extended family, as well as mythology that brought it into being. An overall beautiful continuation of the saga, though evidently there will be more hardships to overcome and grow from. Looking forward to book 4!

This is a wonderful book! It's so different from Camille Peter's other books. But it's just as good. It has a very unique premise. I love how well this book built off of the previous book Nightmare. I also like how Darius and Eden's relationship has changed and matured. The descriptions in this book are really well done and the story is very well written. This is a very fun fantasy book. I highly recommend it.

4.5* This 3rd book of a 4 part series moved the plot forward nicely. There were more twists and turns, new discoveries of ways to manipulate the magic the characters possess, and further thickening of the sinister plot they are trying to thwart. I enjoyed the descriptiveness if the magical world Camille Peters has created and am looking forward to how she wraps up the series!

Fantastic! It's a bit dark but also hopeful. It's completely different from Camille's fairytale series. I love Darius. Eden is ok too but Darius is my favorite. I was so surprised and excited to find out Eden has family. I mean besides her evil mother and uncle. Without spoilers I just have to say... That ending! So cruel to leave us like that. I feel like Eden and Darius took 2 steps forward only to be flung 10 steps back. I'm anxiously awaiting book 4.

A Heart-stopping cliffhanger ending

The battle to understand and learn how to manage emotions, both in and out of dreams, drives Eden forward in her struggle to outwit her heartless mother. Choosing to follow her heart comes at great cost.
Now I am desperate for book 4 to be written.
