Except Sophie is hiding a secret from everyone, until her brother forces the truth out of her. The new alphas of both packs decide there is only one path to ensure the packs’ safety. A wedding of convenience.
Can Sophie and Tanner find their way to love when circumstances beyond their control bind them together?
Flora Dare lives in Durham, NC in a cute little pink house, with her husband, Scott and their hellion of a puppy, HaliToeses. She writes love, lust and mayhem in almost every flavor, and like The Pirate Movie, she wants a happy ending, every time!
The second book in the Love, Fates and Mates in Divided Hills series a well written story that held my interest until the end. Enforcer Tanner Burnett and Sophie's story of drama, misunderstandings, a villain, and romance. I enjoyed reading. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A failure to communicate leads to a major surprise. This book provides a good dose of intrigue, humor, action, and of course steamy romance. Overall this was a enjoyable and entertaining read. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
This book provides a good dose of humor with the mixed up romance. Two in love but not being forthcoming sets up for trouble. Mickie needs her own story.
Failure to communicate leads to a forced marriage but with a little humor, lots of romance and sizzle, Tanner and Sophie find their way to a happily ever after. This story builds on the first book in the series but can be read as a stand alone but reading the first book adds more to the story.

This is an OK shifter romance, with likable characters, but it was just too short to have as much character development as I like. I really wanted their initial relationship, from before this story begins, to be covered. This story begins after they have been "running" together for a while, and Sophie is already pregnant. It gets 3 stars from me.
One thing that bothered me about this story was the way the author didn't really explain her new way of shifters/paranormals recognizing their mates. In this story, they are blessed by the goddess Luna if they are mates, and don't automatically recognize their mates as in most other shifter romances. The idea is interesting, but really needed more explanation.
Tanner and Sophie were both likable, but they were both really bad at communication. Most of their problems could have been resolved if they would just talk to each other, and share their feelings -- but they were both too afraid to do that for most of the story.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Sophie and Tanner, the wolf shifter leads, had been “running together” prior to their fathers’ deaths at each other’s hands. In the wake of those deaths, they hadn’t but Sophie had discovered she was pregnant. Then her brother, her alpha, found out and raced to make it right, especially in the face of a pack member attempting to force a relationship with Sophie to get himself more power in the pack.
This novella is dual POV, well written, fast moving and contains lots of moving parts. Whilst the romance stands alone, I feel it would have been enhanced by reading the first one (which I haven’t) because past events are referred to vaguely and I don’t have context for them. The story was still enjoyable with character development and secondary character involvement and chuckleworthy moments.

I liked this one, I did prefer the first book in the series more. Sophie and Tanner had "run" with each other previously but a fight between their packs drove them apart. Little did Tanner know that Sophie was pregnant at the time. While she was figuring out how to tell Tanner, her brother charged full steam ahead and ruined that. By these two not being honest with each other, their mating didn't start off on a great note even though these two genuinely cared for each other. It was a good, enjoyable read I finished in one sitting. I would like to read more from these characters and this world.

At times it is ridiculous that the last person who knows you are in love with her is the person whom you are in love with. Everyone can see that Tanner is in love with Sophie but Sophie, must be the hormones speaking, believes that he was in love with another. Mickie was right to smack him in the head for not telling her himself.
I liked Tanner, he may have the habit of burning his food but he cares for the people he loves.

When Sophie ends up pregnant, they have a shotgun wedding. How they feel comes out in front of the packs and the nasty Owen gets put down. The best is Sophie and Tanner are blessed as fated mates. I loved how inept Tanner is in the kitchen and home but he tries his best.
Sophie couldn’t resist the Enforcer of a neighboring pack, Tanner Burnett. When their pack Alphas battle and kill each other, they are rival packs and Sophie and Tanner are separated. However, Sophie is now pregnant.
When Sophie’s brother, her new Alpha, finds out, he wants the two of them to officially mate. Will this bring the packs back together in peace? Or will those against their mating with the other pack cause them trouble?
Sophie and Tanner relationship ended too soon. But a little bundle will bring them back together. When Kaine aka Sophie’s brother, shows up at Tanner’s heated and sees another female in his house, he is furious. You have to love Mickie. She is tough plus she could have brained him with her plumbing tools. I think there is something there. With Sophie pregnant this is a way to cement the relationship with the two packs. Cole, Tanner’s Alpha and brother is all for it. These two still love each other but have yet to say it to one another. Always drives me a little crazy that people are waiting for the other to say it. But there is always a missed signal or two. And Owen, UGH JERK! But a wedding is a happy occasion and no fighting is allowed. These two are a blessing to both packs. Now when is Locke going to find his someone? And is Kaine going to end up with Mickie? I do hope so.
This novel had a lot of good moments, a lot of sweet moments; BUT it also had lot of just okay moments that really didn't bring the same warm smile to my face as the other moments had. However, even though there were times when it would lull and I would begin to ponder about choosing another novel, something would grab my attention again- just enough to reel me back in to stick by the side of this author. In the end, though, I'm glad I finished reading this novel.
Okay, I loved the first book in this series, however, this one was too cute and so much better. I so enjoyed that they both were being pigheaded and not wanting to be the first to say their true feelings. Also I can’t wait to see Mickie and Kaine’s story, I just know they are fated mates. For who else could put up with Kaine’s surly butt.
A sweet quicker read with some sass and laughs thrown in. Plenty to enjoy about this shifter pack, it was great to see the alpha again and watch what the Luna had in store for his brother this time.
Sofie never meant to keep a secret from Tanner. When Tanner finds out Sofie secret he vows to protect and keep her safe. Falling in love was a bonus for both.
