Keira was being hunted. By the good guys and the bad guys. Only trouble is, who is who? Then he caught her. Zander. Gorgeous and blunt. Smart and insane. She shouldn’t want him, shouldn’t allow him through her thick shields. But Zander doesn’t know the word no. All he knows is what he wants. And what he wants, he gets. But who would want a thief and a liar? Someone with a black past? Who craves submission, someone to take care of her, but can’t bring herself to trust anyone?
Includes spankings, a guarded Little and an ever so slightly crazy Daddy with a big protective streak.
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
4.7 stars. This was so good. This book takes place somewhere in the middle of the series’ timeline. Somewhere closer to ‘Daring Daddy’ than ‘Sheriff Daddy’.
After reading all the other books in this series I’ve been curious about Zander. The recluse who’s always doing something crazy in the background of a lot of these books.
He was a lot younger and better looking than I had pictured him being. But his personality was totally what I was hoping for.
He does not understand sarcasm or hyperbole. He doesn’t understand much about emotions. He’s blunt and says basically everything that comes to his mind. Honestly it was sort of adorable. Though throughout the book he sort of evolves and learns from Keira so he can take better care of her.
And Keira. She’s funny and cute, and has a really hard time trying to dislike Zander because she’s so afraid to trust anyone else. The men in her life have treated her like shit from her first day on this earth, and she’s so scared that she’s not good enough for Zander.
These characters were so interesting, and super entertaining. Their chemistry and banter was really fun.
The kink is, of course, done really well. One of the best things about this author is that she really seems like she’s got a full grasp on mental health and active consent and she utilizes that knowledge beautifully in her books.
I loved these two together and I’m pretty much devastated that I read it so fast and now have no more books to read from this author. Ughhhhhh. I don’t want to wait until December, dammit. 🥺
Re-Read: 02/26/22 4.7 stars. I loved this book, of course. The second time around was no different. I do wish she would go back and edit out a few minor mistakes, though. There wasn’t anything super distracting, but there are a few times when a word was in the wrong place or repeated in the sentence when it wasn’t necessary. I still had a really good time reading it again, and I know I’ll be reading this book and many of her other books over again sometime in the future. Anytime she’s about to release a new book I get impatient and start rereading her back catalogue. It’s never a mistake.
Re-Read: 10/19/22 4.7 stars. And now I know who Jared’s ‘blonde friend’ is. …god I love this authors books. So freaking good. Every. Damn. Time.
Tricky one to rate. I think Laylah is getting stronger with her writing again. Have been enjoying the last few books after being disappointed for a while. This book wavered between 4 and 3 stars. Will put it in the middle with 3.5 stars.
I enjoyed the slower burn of the relationship and the H being careful with the h. I also enjoyed the H not being a typically written H.
After meeting Zander in the previous stories,i wondered why he was….different. Lucky for me,Laylah was generous enough to give me the ARC,and all i had to do in return was leave an honest review. Easy!
Keira was great at making bad choices, proved again by her latest “boyfriend” Carl. He made her steal something she absolutely shouldn’t have, and now they’re on the run. And when she tried to run away from him,he beat her and tied her to the bed before leaving. That’s where Zander and his team find her,and after questioning her,he decides to take her home with him. Because seeing Keira so badly hurt and defeated makes him feel something he’s not used to….
Having her close makes him feel even more, and what does thát mean? Talking to Webb only helps a little, searching the net is more effective, and what he finds,he’s going to use to get answers. When Keira unwittingly shows her little,he knows he’s going to have to do even more research. But what he gets in return is a little that is everything he ever wanted, and more!
It may have taken Keira some time to get used to the kind of man Zander is,but once she sees the man behind the strangeness, she knows he’s the one she can trust with her life. Because he’s patient, caring, and willing to do anything to make her happy. But will his team accept her??
Zander even searches for her sister, but when they finally find her, there’s a twist. One that involves someone i hope will show up again. Who i didn’t want to see again, was Carl, but it seems he wasn’t finished with Keira yet… Will Zander and his team find her in time?
This was yet another beautiful story, with a Daddy that was unique. But a Daddy that was perfect for his little gilr!
The care and love with which Laylah wrote this story clearly shows, and i loved every second of it!
This is the twelfth in the series about Montana Daddies and their Littles. Although it's a standalone in terms of the couple, we first heard of Keira in Daring Daddy; in addition, characters from at least two of the author's other series appear. She does provide a brief recap at the beginning, as well as a trigger warning -- both of which I appreciated. Here, we get on-the-lam Keira and hot-on-her-trail Zander. He's supposed to find her and the money she's stolen from his employer, but what happens when he decides to keep her instead?
If you're looking for a consensual, relatively mild Age Play book, you will enjoy this (indeed, the entire series). The strengths are the MMC's devotion to his woman; the humorous dialogue; and the quirky secondary characters -- any of whom could get their own books (and it's always good ). In general, I usually find the female characters more interesting than the males, but Keira's abused damsel-in-distress has been done to death; Zander, on the other hand, is on the spectrum and atypically for this genre it didn't affect his self-confidence. Finally (in terms of positives), I appreciated Zander's realization that Keira's triggers wouldn't disappear over night.
When I read Ms. Roberts' books, however, I always start out thinking they're a four, but, by the end, I'm at three. Part of this is the repetition and length: many of the scenes, conversations, and inner monologues are same-y. In addition, the characters aren't very deep; indeed, each MFC is generally defined by the particular genre of toy she likes (dinosaur, mouse, etc). Finally, the plots are formulaic: if you've read any of the books, the twist at the end will not surprise you. I was particularly disappointed here not to get a scene between -- that would have been far more interesting than the author's very old, very tired, very sexist drama.
The prose generally flows and is well-edited, though some inconsistencies appear.
3 1/2 stars. Despite all that I say above and despite that fact that I found Zander's over-protectiveness irritating in a way that I don't with many of the others, there's no question that we all want someone in our lives who will say this: “Whatever you need, whatever you want, all you have to do is ask. Understand me? Just tell me what you need and I’ll get it for you." It's hard to tell who will get the next book.
**Potential Plot spoilers alert** Potential trigger warning relating to physical abuse against a woman. The characterisation is good, with individual personalities and motivators allowing the reader to form a connection with the characters. I found Zander a bit laboured if I'm honest, the personality trait of not understanding nuances in conversation and social interaction speaks of the autistic spectrum, which is fine except the character does put himself into social situations and has a vastly inflated opinion of himself that although endearing causes conflict with reading the character. For me, the two sides don't mesh. Keira is a bit of a pre drawn character lifted from any other book and being totally honest I didn't form much of a connection with her. There is being naive and then there's Keira who takes it to an art form. The plotline is a continuation from the previous book, and I seriously struggled with how Zander finds her beaten and tied so tightly her hands are numb. To leave her that way as he argued with her didn't, for me, illustrate his 'literal' personality, it encouraged the view that he was possessed of little humanity. Then there is the assumption by the author that the reader would be willing to suspend belief when he decides immediately following the argument that he would take her with him and keep her locked in a room under covert surveillance. Huge breaches of trust are either ignored or swept away with Daddy knows best. There is some swearing and some sex scenes. I do have to say that there are the usual are common to the authors other books, missing words, mixed tense etc. Now, all that said, I do still enjoy the books, it's not a massive catalogue of errors, but you would have hoped the author could employ a new proof reader. If you are a fan of the genre I have no problem recommending the series but would advise reading from the beginning including the MC series because that would provide the full backstory.
Literally, if you've read even one of the other books, then you've read this one except with different names. Same as every other one. Too much little time, not enough sex time. Issues with using the restroom, boring sex, nightmares, jealousy, crying littles. I'm over it.
This book tugged at my heartstrings and had me laughing out loud. Kiera is a heroine who hasn't had a break in her life. She makes bad choices hunting for her white knight, to the point she now trusts no one and tells herself she can only rely on her and no one else. Zander is a hero who doesn't understand emotions, sarcasm and he himself has trust issues. It was so enjoyable to see these two work their way through their distrust and to find a relationship with each other. The multiple ways she tied these characters to others in her previous books is amazing. And as usual, Laylah Roberts had the most intriguing side characters, so now I have a huge list of new books I need from her. Another winner!

I think Zander might be the oddest of the "daddies". Raised by a reclusive, and paranoid uncle, he has a tendency to distance himself from others. Not understanding social cues, or sarcasm, puts him at a disadvantage in many ways. But when he recognizes just what Keira needs in order to feel safe, he is able to adjust to her requirements.
*spoilers* I do not know how Laylah does it, but I am such a sucker for books. This one is exspecially hilarious, hearttouching and opens up the world of Zander. I already was curious about him when we met him in other stories. You know that feeling when you are so engrossed in a book and suddenly you are almost done and force yourself to stop, so that the story is not finished yet? That is what Laylah does to me. Zander and Keira are so hilarious, intriguing and quirky. They made me immediately fall for theit special kind of crazy. We met Keira in Eden's and Zeke's story. She stole money and blackmail material, because her boyfriend talked her into it. He told her lies about the people she worked for and did not say a thing about the blackmail material. Kent gave Zander and his team the mission to find the missing things and Keira. He finds her beaten and tied up by her boyfriend, who she was on the run with. Somehow she is more then a mission for him. He takes Keira hostage. Keira was sadly used to be abused by men and can not rely on anybody in her life, seeking love in abusive relationships. We slowly learn about her past and it is really sad and bad. Zander also has his own secrets and past. He is a 'little' paranoid. They both immediately feel something special for the other, but can not really see it, it is hard to describe, you have to read it. Zeke does not send Keira to Kent, like Kent wants him too. Also learning a big threat against her is eliminated he still holds her hostage, not wanting to let her go. Their sometimes a little skward interaction is so special, just thei own kind of crazy, but somehow it touched something in my heart. Here a quotation from something Keira thinks 'You can only rely on yourself. And the sonner she left the better. Because despite his strange ways, Zander was growing on her. Like fungis. A really sexy fungus. Lord help her.' Zander was hurt by a past relationship, but somehow what he feels for Keira is right there from the beginning. He announces himself her guardian, slowly accepting for himself that he wants to be her daddy, not being sure if she is a little, but suspecting it very much. Keira tries to tell herself she can only rely on herself, but for the first time in her life somebody really takes care of her and puts her first. Zander simply does not allow someone or somebody to harm her. They both have doubts about being good enough for the other. Will Keira be able to overcome her traumata and open up her heart? They both have to take the trust in the other person, to be vulnerable and not be hurt ahgain. Will they be the perfect king of crazy for each other, because who would even want to be normal? Will Zander be able to protect Keira? What is up with Keira's sister? Keira is so strong and fragile, just like Zander just completely different. I could wite a ten page review of this book. Just all the little details, that makes it so special, but best just read it as soon as possible. We also meet Zander's team, I hope there are a lot more stories to come. Webb also touched me, I hope he will find his special someone. Thank you so much for this very special story, I loved it so much and will ceteinly reread it many times to get all the little details. This couple has a special place in my heart.

“Rogue Daddy” is the 12th book in the ‘Montana Daddies’ series, although chronologically it would come after book 5. It’s a series that features stories where the lead characters develop a DD/lg relationship. They are each written in such a way that they can be enjoyed as standalones.
Zander has appeared before in the series, and he’s always been just little bit ‘different’. In this book it becomes clear that he’s very high functioning on the autism spectrum. A very literal thinker who doesn’t really understand things like sarcasm or dramatic exaggeration, he lives a socially reclusive life and simply does his own thing. For him, that means running a team of operatives that he’s assembled over the years in ways as unusual as he is. Keira was a catalyst for something that causes huge amount of trouble in Daring Daddy, which was book 5 in the ‘Montana Daddies’ series. She’s a hot mess with a history of making bad decisions, especially about the men she dates. When she steals something from people nobody should ever steal from, she ends up on the run for her life with the crazy ‘boyfriend’ who manipulated her into doing it. Lucky for her, Zander is hired to find them.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. I appreciated that although the hero was ‘different’, he was still an intelligent and capable man. He was particularly sensitive and caring in his dealings with Keira and was protective of his entire team. There were a couple of inconsistencies with that though, in my opinion. I don’t want to give away plot info but will try to give an example about what I mean; when Zander finds Keira, she’s in a situation that he recognizes may be physically harming her, yet he doesn’t do anything about mitigating that harm. I also kept hoping to read about Keira and Eden when they first saw one another again, but I guess that would’ve been pointless to anyone who hadn’t read book 5. These were relatively small issues though, and if the author writes another book in this series, I’ll definitely be reading it. One last thing ... I have to take a moment and say that a character I didn't expect to see suddenly appeared in this story and it was awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars OPPOSITES ATTRACT Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2021 Verified Purchase Ms. Roberts has done it again. I loved how she made two distinctive personalities such as Zander and Keira work so well together. There was the usual amount of tension, danger, emotion, and heat to spice things up.
I found Zander’s brutal, eccentric personality to be refreshing. He had no filter, struggled with empathy, but his quirkiness made him unique. His mission was to find and bring Keira back to answer questions about her involvement in stealing money, but instead he decided to keep her. I was surprised by how well he took to being a daddy.
My heart ached for Keira. So much trauma in her life left her alone and on the run.So sad and riddled with guilt. Her only crime was her poor choice in men. Keira struggled with trust, but Zander plowed through the walls she built around herself. In Zander, she found a man who understood her desires to let go of control and live out her fantazies.
Zander and Keira made an odd couple but their past struggles is what made them a perfect match. I enjoyed this book so much that I could not put it down.
There is so much to love about this story I hardly know where to begin. Zander is... blunt. He says what he means and is honest to a fault. He's also tough, quiet, obsessive about protecting those he cares about, always in control, and very selective about who he lets close. He's also a hero in the truest sense of the word. Keira has lived a rough life and all of her attempts of turning things around have led to more disasters. With Zander's help, she can be safe for maybe the first time ever and finally realize her worth. It's not always easy buts it's always sweet.
One of my favorite things about Ms. Roberts is the amount of humor she puts in her books. They are laugh-out-loud funny. There is a fair amount of angst and tons of sexiness, but the sweetness and the humor are what has made her one of my faves. I don't recommend reading this while in bed with someone that's trying to sleep because you may be able to stifle the sound of your laughter but it's harder to stifle the shaking. I do, however, recommend blocking off your calendar and giving yourself the entire day to read it because once you start you won't want to put it down.
I loved this story! I loved seeing Zander find his Little.
Keira has made a huge mistake in trusting her boyfriend. Now she is on the run and is trying to figure out how to get away from him. She wakes up to being beaten and a stranger looking at her. Zander and his team has been send on a mission to bring her and some other things back. Instead, he decides to keep her with him. There is something about her that brings out feelings in him. It takes time before they trust each other. Zander and Keira fall in love but it takes time. When she is taken from him, will he be able to get to her in time?
I love Laylah and the Montana Daddies. And the MC Daddies. It’s really a crossover book to be honest since there’s a lot of info from both series.
I’ll write a bit more on this later - it’s another late night of reading for me. But I’ll be honest, I’ve unfortunately been in a bit of a Laylah slump lately. I haven’t been loving her recent work as much as usual. It more than likely had more to do with my recent moods than her work, honestly. But this book got me right back on track!
Wow smashed it again with zander and Kiki, i love that the series are intwining story lines are getting better and exciting but also longer so you get to enjoy more of the stories , can't wait for future books from you not much I haven't been reading of yours and my fav author on here, but rogue daddy has been my favourite the story line the trauma Kiki had zander understood it all and kept her safe cared enough to let her heal in her own time
At first it started out a bit slow relationship wise, but that was expected from her previous experiences. None the less it was always entertaining and there was so much to this story that went along with Laylah's other book series.
I love it, especially the ending and and the last few words.
I enjoyed Zander and Keira’s story! It is sweet, mildly angsty, and quirky. It is somewhat different in tone from the other books in this series, but not a surprise considering Zander’s personality. It is also interconnected with several of the earlier books and the timeline is interwoven such that several loose ends are tied up. I suggest reading at least a few of the earlier books before this one.
I waited a long time for the story of the lucky woman who would get Zander, Kiesha is one very lucky Lady. I love that it wasn't until she was rescued and than kidnapped by Zander that kiesha got to find her Littla side. If you don't approve of DD/LG books don't bother to buy this book.
Omg omg omg 😏🥰😌☺️🤫🌝👏🌻LOVED IT!!! so funny, sweet, easy relatable with the heartache, the loss, the manipulation, abuse, judgement but also hope, patience, acceptance, forgiveness, love. I genuinely loved every single bit of this funny but super hot story. YUM YUM ... 😋😁🙌 LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT BOOK
So good!!! I hated that I had to put this book down at all! I appreciated the author’s note at the beginning to bring me up to speed to where we are at the start of the story. I love Zander. He’s a special guy and needed the right match. I think Keira is just that for him. I feel like I could have read another 200 pages and been really happy about it! ❤️
Great book I am glad Z got his book.love all these series working so well together. What about poor Fox he is so misunderstood. Your characters are well written and your storylines have been wonderful. Please keep writing. I greatly enjoy that your books are long enough to have a real storyline
I am never disappointed with a book written by Laylah Roberts. Her books are always well written. The characters are likeable, the dialogue is natural and I love the humor. The stories are mixed with sweet moments, sexy times and even some dramatic tension. It's just sheer perfection.
Rogue Daddy (Montana Daddies Book 12) by Laylah Roberts -- Zander is either autistic or the poster child for not leaving a child to be raised by a paranoid, depressed, agoraphobe. I want to wrap this whole unit up in bubble wrap! Love that we finally learn what happened! Happy Reading!
This book arrived in my Kindle app this morning and it is another amazing story by Laylah! I was wondering about Zander and his story is so unique. I just had to read the whole thing in one go. I especially like that Laylah writes long books so the story never feels unfinished. And so worth the money.
I love this book so much. Zander is without a doubt the most incredible daddy. I laughed so hard throughout the book and the dynamic between all the characters was beyond my imagination. Well written, extremely worth reading, and without a doubt a favorite of mine. Thank you for this. Cannot wait to read more.
This is A Montana Daddies 12 love story for Keira and Zander. I loved how these two meet and instead of Zander turning her over to the guy looking for her he takes her for himself and helps her heal into her Little girl. I loved this love story.

Wow! I think this book just became my favorite. Zander and Keira go through a lot but I loved their story so much. My heart was hurting for Keira at first but watching how Zander took care of her and helped her heal made my heart just melt!!! These two are perfect for each other!!!
