Avoiding Hell is getting harder and harder for Luka Thomas. Because of one boy, he teeters somewhere between salvation and falling from grace. With the looming threat of his family disowning him, every day with Harlan is more risky than the last.

Harlan Sharp holds secrets close to his damaged heart, but Luka makes him forget all of the pain he’s endured. Facing his struggles with trust, he is finally ready to share his story with Luka. He just hopes the outcome doesn’t come at a cost.

After an emotional prom night spent with Harlan, Luka makes a confession that will change his life forever. The lies he’s woven suddenly rip apart, leaving him scared and vulnerable. Will love be enough to keep him sane during his nightmare or will he turn his back on Harlan, praying for forgiveness and salvation?

About the author

L.M. Archer

L.M. Archer was first drawn to writing as a way to express my feelings when oftentimes, she found that she couldn’t say them out loud. That’s why her writing is more on the dark side of the romance spectrum. She tends to write in a way that showcases real scenarios and events. Her books tackle mental health, moral values, religion and many other topics that are raw and real.

Archer is not afraid to make her readers look at the darker side of humanity and question the very foundation of life and existence. The topics in her books can be triggering, but she is a firm believer that you need to shed light on certain situations. Keeping them in the dark only hurts more.

normally this is where I say Thank you for allowing me to read and review your book. Today I am using this for my Rant. OMG L.M.Arche how could you leave me hanging like this.

***** So here is your warning....*****
Get the tissues ready. You WILL need them.
This book ends on a cliffhanger where you will not know what will happen next.
You will need a place to go scream after that ending. I used the garden but I am not sure the neighbours were too happy. Let's just blame the kids.
This is the third book in the take me to church series and boy is it an incredible book. We start off in a really happy place with Harlen and Luka, who have accepted that they love each other but have not managed to tell each other yet. This is an MM romance with scenes that could trigger others. It is a story of religion and not always the good parts of religion but helps tell the tales of many people within the LGBTQ community and really is incredibly written.

This book is one of the best pieces of work that I have had the privilege of reading in a long time. The raw emotion and detail that has gone into every single word of this book is absolutely magnificent. I have felt every single emotion possible with this book and have literally sobbed like a baby.

We get to see them go to prom together but not fully together and we get some absolutely sizzling sexy scenes, with soo much pure love and desire that you may need a clean pair of pants (sorry not sorry just warning you)

But their story isn't one of smooth sailing its one of religion and hidden meanings and trying to find themselves and each other both separately and together The journey these two go on in this book literally broke me at one point because I feel soo much of the emotion pouring out of the pages, I had to put it down for a moment to regain myself.

These two boys are soo strong and have been and gone through soo much together before and in this book, you can't help but love and adore them I literally want to wrap them in my arms and never let go.

After Prom Luka goes missing and although Harlen's first response if of a negative one he can't even begin to understand what Luka is actually going through but in this happening Harlen faces some of his own demons and this was soo beautiful and painful to read but I felt like I was there every step of the way with him.

These characters are absolutely incredible and this story is just WOW!!! I am lost for words. L.M .ARcher you should be incredibly proud of this masterpiece because I am incredibly proud of you for writing and publishing it. I would seriously give you more than five if possible

Paradise in Death, book three of the Take me to Church series, blew me away. While it brought up very real and raw emotions, it is beyond necessary to understand the reality of these situations. Being LGBTQ+ myself, I know how well founded the fears of ending up in this very situation are. This balance of fiction and real issues makes for a book that is hard to put down. Having a myriad emotions evoked from this continuing story provides important representation of the queer story. I am excited to read the fourth book and conclusion to this story, because I am so invested in the characters and their lives.

this one was a hard one to read. i hate the fact that there are still places like that today and right now there are people suffering because of hatred that is christianity. this was definitely a very accurate depiction of what these places are like but it made me happy to think that if someone could get out, even in a story, maybe some people have been lucky enough to get out too. i also like the aftermath of something like that is shown. it’s life altering going through something that traumatic and i like that you actually see that instead of just pretending that the character is magically fine right when he gets saved. can’t wait to finish the final book!

How should I start?

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read, the way that it hurt me and at the same time heal my heart It’s one of the Things that makes this book so fascinating!

I’ll always going to recomend This series, and specially this book, and that’s because It’s si raw and so real that everyone should know what happened to Luka It’s something that actually happends in real life.

I really need to read the next book because my heart hurts for both of them.

Also, I’M SO PROUD OF HARLAN

WOW!!! I can honestly say I’ve never read a storyline like this one before and it is amazing! It touches on some very important topics that I’ve never seen explored before and written in such a way that will have you sobbing! The author has done an amazing job of fleshing out these characters so that they’re real people with so many facets, strengths and weaknesses. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and see where this story goes!

This story sucks you in and spits you out. What an amazing continuation of this series. I can’t say much without ruining the plot but, it’s so realistic and truthful of what really happens in these situations. Kudos to the author on their realistic telling of what can and has honestly happened in America when homophobia runs rampant in religious communities.

This tear-inducing book is the perfect third part of a four-part series. It leaves the reader in a hopeful yet emotionally charged place, with lots of deeply thoughtful content to question the way so many of us currently view the world. If you have not yet picked up L.M. Archer's "Take Me to Church" series, I could not recommend a better time to do so.
