I crash my car, save an alien’s life, and then got abducted by more aliens.
Max
I’m on a freaking spaceship with these crazy blue aliens and the things they insinuate terrify me. My only hope is my cellmate. He looks mostly human, except for his fins and eyes. I don’t have much choice but to trust him. I can’t fly this ship by myself, and we have a common enemy. He’s kind, strong, and maybe a little bit sexy. I just hope I’m not making a mistake trusting him. I want to get back home.

Argumento:
Max
Regresé a casa para comenzar de nuevo. En cambio, choco mi auto, salvo la vida de un extraterrestre y luego fui secuestrada por más extraterrestres.
Estoy en una maldita nave espacial con estos alienígenas azules locos y las cosas que insinúan me aterrorizan. Mi única esperanza es mi compañero de celda, también un extraterrestre. Parece principalmente humano, excepto por sus aletas y ojos. No tengo más remedio que confiar en él. No puedo pilotar esta nave sola y tenemos un enemigo común. Mi instinto me dice que puedo confiar en Loc. Es amable, fuerte y quizás un poco sexy. Solo espero no estar cometiendo un error.

Apenas sobreviví al aterrizaje forzoso en un planeta extraño cuando el Orión desciende sobre mí y la hermosa mujer que me rescata. Tomada prisionera, no tengo tiempo para ver si mis hermanas sobrevivieron al accidente. Mi prioridad es escapar. El luchador humano, Max, parece estar de acuerdo. Juntos tomamos el control de la nave. Pero, ¿podemos volver a su mundo natal?
Debo proteger a Max de los males de mi galaxia. Ella me atrae. Mi mundo es peligroso y mi misión es llevarla a casa.
Pero si llegamos a la Tierra, ¿cómo podemos tener un futuro juntos? Los extraterrestres no existen en su mundo.
Mí humilde opinión:
Me gustó el libro de Loc! La construcción del mundo, la acción y la aventura estuvo muy bien, me mantuvo en espectativa. La autora tiene habilidad para crear personajes muy agradables y que te llegan. Por ejemplo, me morí de ternura con la droide Suzzy y es un personaje secundario.
Esta serie sigue las vidas de tres esclavos luego de escapar del tirano rey del imperio de Orion. Ahora es el turno de Loc, un ex gladiador que perdió a toda su familia en la arena antes de escapar. Echo y Aurora son como sus hermanas y el Nightfall, la nave es como su hogar. Juntos son parte de la resistencia que ayuda a los que son como ellos y luchan por ser libres.
Me conmovió la historia de Loc, él era tan dulce y protector. Me gustó porque se sentía como un hermano mayor, era leal y con un gran corazón.
Max era una mujer que fue engañada por partida doble, su marido y su mejor amiga. Esta comenzando de nuevo, tiene a su perro y está enseñando lo que ama que es el baile. Lo que me gustó de Max es que ponía la nota de humor, era comprensiva y compasiva, a pesar de ser humana en un entorno desconocido no dejaba de luchar.
El romance era dulce con momentos picantes... A diferencia de Grey y Aurora, no pude ver un conflicto entre Loc y Max que le diera algo de drama a su relación. Ella era de la tierra y él no podría quedarse con ella porque su aspecto es más alienígena que humanoide pero este es un bache que sortean sin mucho problema. Todo era fácil y lindo entre ellos. Me gustó que se entendieran y fueran honestos entre ellos pero hubiera querido que no fuera todo tan perfecto. Sobretodo siendo ella secuestrada de la tierra de una forma tan brutal. Sentí que ella cambió de parecer muy rápido, no dejaba de extrañar la tierra y querer regresar y luego quería quedarse con Loc y luchar por su causa. Igualmente creo que esto se resolvió bien aunque pensé que la familia de ella aceptaba el hecho de que los extraterrestres existían y que su hija estaba emparejada con uno con mucha tranquilidad.
El final queda abierto con una inminente guerra en puerta para conseguir la libertad de todos, así que espero leer el desenlace en la historia de Echo y Kai.

Great second
This is great second book by Bethany Shaw. I was not disappointed in this story other then I with it was not longer enough. I look forward to the next wonderfully written book.

wonderful read
Loved the second book, Loc crashed on Earth, Max crashed her car into his escape pod. Max gets him away from the burning car and escape pod just before they explode. They are then abducted by the Orion, Loc has a bounty on him, because he is an escaped Gladiator, who is part of the Nightfall crew, that was captured and being returned to Orion Government. Max was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Loc and Max manage to overtake the crew of the Orion battle cruiser and take control of the ship but, it is set on a course for the Orion Palace and unless Loc can change the course they are in deep trouble. They get the course changed but are shot out of orbit of Drexxor, they make a deal with the inhabitants to get their spaceships working to get them off the planet in exchange for food and shelter. They are almost ready to go when the Orion troops find where they are hiding in the caverns. They only have the two ships ready,but it will have to do. One full ship takes off, Loc is waiting for Max and the rest of people when Max is captured and rounded up and Loc hears get ready to execute them. Loc roars, rocks falls from the ceiling and everyone falls to floor with their hands over their ears. Loc picks up Max and their friends and they leave what is left of the Orion troops after Loc finished mowing through them, and they headed for the ship, there was standing room only, but they were off. They were being followed and there were ships in orbit, but Loc would do his best. Just as he was putting it in FTL there was a hit, there main engine was offline, they were dead in the water. They were being hailed on a frequency, it was Echo, they were saved. They got towed to Throoth, Prince Kellan’s planet, where they got outfitted for there trip to Earth. While on Throoth, Loc and Max finally declared their love for each other, as soon as they did that, their mating marks showed up on their wrists,decided that Max was just visiting Earth to let her family know that she was okay, but that her life was with Loc. Max got to meet Echo and Aurora who are Loc’s sisters, Atticus Loc who is Aurora’s and Gray’s son and they are considered his family.

This story has nonstop action with lots of steam and romance between the main characters, Max and Loc. Max never knew anything about aliens until she crashed into Loc's pod which was in the middle of the road. Then they are both abducted by the evil Orions. They manage to kill the Orions on the ship and take control and eventually they meet up with Loc's friend Echo who saves them when their ship failed. She learns to trust Loc and they slowly fall in love. But Loc can't live on Earth so can Max travel the galaxies with Loc? An excellent story!

Loc is book 2 of currently 3 where aliens are real and visit Earth often to abduct mostly children. This revolves around Loc (alien) and Max (Earthling) story. The characters from book 1 are in this story line as well. Loc crashes on Earth in an escape pod landing right in the road in front of Max’s car that is unable to stop fast enough. Both narrowly escape the resulting explosion, then the orions begin chasing the two and ultimately capturing the two. Follow along Loc and Max’s life altering events.

Absolutely loving this series. Very well written and an enjoyable storyline. I am looking forward to finally reading Echo's story.
