London Prep #6

The Country House

Rate this book
After the drama at Harry’s family cocktail party on Thursday and confessing my feelings for Noah on Friday, I’m looking forward to a weekend away with the boys.

So after packing up my wellies, tweeds, and a fancy dress or two, we are off to the countryside!
And everything seems perfect.
Harry and I are closer than we’ve ever been.
My relationship with Noah is finally progressing to more.
The boys’ club is stronger than ever, and we get a weekend away with no parents!

Except, well, it isn’t all that perfect.
Because Harry’s parents still think we’re dating and sometimes I wonder if he does too.
Harry still doesn’t know that Noah and I are kind of a couple.
Helen is questioning my every move, not trusting that I’ll behave myself.
My dad seems to have a man crush on Harry.
And even though Noah and I have shared our feelings, he won’t share his body with me.

I know we’re going to have the best time together, but I can’t help but think about how when the weekend is over, everything is going to change.
After all, I never expected to wind up in Harry’s arms again, having him look at me like he still loves me. And I never expected to hear that Noah thinks I’m going to break his heart.
It’s only one weekend, but a lot can change in just a few days.

I loved every second of being back in the 'London Prep' world! This book was a little different than the rest as it didn't take place at school or London at all. Mal, Noah, Harry, and Mohammed were all at Harry's house in the country.

Mallory's life is changing once again with her parents moving to London in the next coming week, navigating her friendships as well as a new relationship, and trying to adjust to being in London permanently. A getaway is exactly what everyone needed. It's just the boy's club getting away for a few days. Just the four of them.

I was squealing so happily about the direction this book took! I think most readers will be very very happy about it! Though the end left me a bit nervous. Mallory has a choice to make and whatever she chooses could easily change the course of her life!

These are the kind of books that will pull you in and engross you. I didn't want to put this one down and I'm so excited for the next book! It can't come soon enough!

Harry, Noah, Mohammed and Mallory arrive at Harry’s family country estate for a much needed holiday. Mal’s parents are arriving next week so she is planning on enjoying this time with her friends before she has to divide her time again.

The main reason for this break though is to give Harry some much needed support and fun before he heads off to Shanghai for a few days with his family. Without any parents there with them they can just truly have fun and get into a bit of mischief.

‘I think, in the beginning, I got it all wrong. I thought Harry was the sexy and flirty one. I figured his good looks and charm would make him… well, passionate. But Noah…’

Noah and Mallory’s budding romance steps up a few notches - so much more than I was expecting! Noah is intensely sexy and truly gives Mallory a taste of what it would be like if they were in a committed relationship. I said it last time but this guy has got game. Mallory is pretty much powerless to resist him, once his lips are on hers she almost forgets her own name.

‘When Noah’s kissing me, there isn’t room for anything else. There isn’t room for anyone else. In my mind. In my heart. Or my body. He occupies everything. Demands everything.’

Noah is still holding back a little bit though. He knows that the history between Mal and Harry still weighs on her mind. She is careful not to hurt Harry’s feelings and it is important to Mal that he knows how much their friendship means to her. No matter what happens in the future, she will always have a place for Harry in her heart.

‘You heart belongs to more than one person. We both know that.’

Let’s weigh up these two boys… with Harry she can see a life filled with incredible nights out, dressing up and lots of travel. His business connections could one day open doors for her own career aspirations. Her father seems to have developed a bromance with him and is looking forward to getting to know his family better. He is not very good at being a boyfriend though.

And then there is the solid, reliable, sexy Noah. He has made it clear for a while that he wanted Mallory. He is kind, thoughtful and so considerate of her. He is a great friend to Harry and Mohammed. His family treats Mal like she is their own daughter and he looks forward to getting to know her family too. He will be the most amazing boyfriend. The chemistry is there and the intensity between them is off the charts.

‘You have trouble distinguishing types of love,’ he explains. ‘Platonic. Romantic. You love them both, and you don’t know what to do about it. So you’re flailing.’

Wow, this story delivered up more than I was expecting! I have to remind myself that Mal has only known them all for 5 weeks and they are all teenagers. They are facing very adult issues and decisions. I’m still very much #TeamNoah but worried about Harry’s state of mind and his reckless behavior that impacts everyone. I cannot wait for more, especially because this ends with Mal faced with a tough decision to make!

“Isn’t it obvious that I fancy you?”

I loved being thrust back into the London Prep world, a series that has wholeheartedly owned me. These characters are my addiction and I can’t adore them enough! The sixth installment in this saga, The Country House, is deliciously divine. A story that wholeheartedly captures the essence of YA romance: the off-charts intensity, high-stakes drama, burning attraction, entertaining banter, sweet adoration, and uncertainty of falling in love. I fell for this gripping, guilty pleasure of YA romance that bleeds angst and blazes with heat and heart. Intense. Intoxicating. Irresistible.

Told through a strong and stunning American teen living her best London life in her quad squad crew, The Country House continues with the tangled hero and heroine web woven into a heart-hitting romance. This is messy love at its best! Prepare for your emotions to rage with the hero and heroine as you ride a heart-racing roller coaster of delicious drama, laugh-out-loud moments, complicated first love, and off-the-charts intensity.

I was seamlessly immersed into the story as if I was a key character too, part of the crew. As I slipped into these characters’ souls, I became their voices, and felt every feel they had to give. I wanted to jump into this novel and be the heroine’s North Star, pointing her in the right direction. These teens … I felt them so much! Mallory, Harry, Mohhammad, and Noah and his family hold a special place in my heart.

This slow burn of a romance melted me, hugging my heart and then tearing it apart. I was left in a quivering mess of feels, and I loved every emotional hit. What a nail biter of a butterfly-fluttering, heart-bursting book! The sweetest torture. So tortuous that I screamed at the ending, wanting to throw my kindle at the cliffhanger! That’s how invested I was, so wrapped up in these characters and their addictive, passionate, heart-pounding world. Well played, Jillian Dodd, well played.

Dodd has created quite the dynasty of YA romances, as enthralling as the queen herself! The Country House is another gem in this sparking and spellbinding saga. I could read this all-the-stars series forever, still starry-eyed and longing for more.

#TeamNoah friends, please buckle up for this one. You’re going on a very emotional roller coaster. It’s full of (almost) everything we’ve been begging for!! If you loved Noah in the first 5 books, you’re going to love him even more in book 6! The scenes between Noah and Mallory were written so well! Just the right amount of deep conversation, chemistry, banter, flirtation, and major swoon!

On the other hand, ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH ENDING?!? It was just enough to leave me totally afraid for what could be possibly nothing, or could possibly rip my #TeamNoah heart out and stomp all over it.

Will we survive book 7, The Choice?! That’s to be determined. My sensitive heart may not be able to take it. Here’s to hoping that after 6 books, Mallory can prove to make up her mind and know what she truly wants and what is important 🤞🏻

My thoughts are flying everywhere! This YA Romance series perfectly describes what being young and falling in love for the first time is all about. These four have formed a friendship that will defy whatever life throws at them. Mallory is embarking on a serious relationship for the first time in her life. But is she ready for all that will entail? Because Noah wants a soulmate. Harry is a little lost. Mohammed isn't quite sure if he wants to settle down. It's an angsty but fun weekend for the mates at the Country House. I have so many feels on where this story is heading. Just when I think everything might smooth out for my young friends...a wild card is thrown in the mix and confuses me. I want to sit all of the characters down and say...what are you thinking? But I know that the next story will pull me into the pages and carry me along on this roller coaster ride...I don't want it to end.

So conflicted

I can't even fully express how I'm feeling about this one. I guess that kind of makes me like mallory, huh? I'm team Noah all the way so maybe that's why I feel the way I do so I'm sure the ones routing for harry probably will feel differently. I've adored the other books but this one...this one just had me frustrated and rolling my eyes constantly. I got to a happy part when things were progressing with Noah (ahhhhhh) but I felt like mallory was whining nonstop. That she was more indecisive than she's been in the past which was even more annoying considering she made her choice. And the ending....don't even get me started (spoiler alert) I think if she chooses to go I might just throw the book so beware. I'm frustrated, angry, overwhelmed with the need to scream at the characters and then I get giddy when I think of her and noah. I'm a mess.

You know an author is good when they can get you to follow them into a genre you don’t typically read and absolutely LOVE it! Jillian Dodd is absolutely that good and quickly has climbed into my list of most favorite authors!

I don’t know what it is about Jillian’s writing, but reading her stories reminds me why I love stories and storytelling. The way she combines important themes with such real-feeling characters is absolutely masterful. There is some kind of magic woven into her stories and it is truly incredible!

The Country House has us going to Harry’s country house with Mallory, Noah, Mohammed and of course, Harry! I was soo very happy to see that Mallory has finally chosen the one that she loves. But of course, you know there is going to be a cliffy with this one also, right?

You must read this series from book 1 to really get into the groove of the story. It is simply amazing!! I love love the London prep series soo much. I can’t wait for book 7 to be released in December!!

I get that this wouldn’t still be a story if Mallory actually made a decision between Harry and Noah but COME ON 🤦🏼‍♀️ Noah is by far the clear winner here and Harry needs to move on… Firmly Team Noah here if that wasn’t clear. 🤣

What the WHATTT!!! What was that ending Jillian?!! Why???? Ok, back up, my heart was in my stomach so excited throughout this entire story! I am all about Noah and this book to me was #teamnoah centered! Either way though, this book is about solidifying friendships. This book is Mallory, Noah, Mohammed and Harry centered. Building and making strong the bond to include Mallory in their boys club.

This book is amazing an action packed. The visualization is incredible, I felt I was at the country house with them. No matter who I love (my #teamnoah is superrr strong), really this book was the best in the series for their friendship. This is a must read awesome series!! Sooo excited to see what comes next.

I think this series could win an award for the slowest burn EVER. Thankfully, we FINALLY get some steam in this one! 🔥 It only took 6 books 🤣 Mal & the boys had quite the interesting holiday at Harry’s country house. I’m interested to see what happens once they are back in the ‘real world’ and Mal makes “The Choice” (Book 7). I’ll leave you with this …I feel like smacking Mal upside the head right now 🙄😠

Are you kidding me?! Why would the ending need to be that big of a cliffhanger! I don't even know what to say, how to feel or what to think! I'm all sorts of mixed up. Happy that Mal and Noah are figuring things about. Mad that Mal baby's Harry and his feelings. Excited to see what happens between Mahommed and Naomi. But that ending is just still too fresh to not be upset at. I need the next book like now!

Honestly when I finished this I wanted to chuck it at the wall, HARD. In a good way & a bad way. This cliffhanger is one of the worst ones for me! How am I going to wait til DECEMBER for the answer?! It’s just cruelty in the sweetest form.

Mallory drives me completely insane. Each book I get one step closer to her FINALLY getting Noah & each book I get 10 steps back from where I want them to be! I literally could cry. I am hoping in the next book she chooses who she really wants & sticks with them or stays single for a while because the back & forth is getting a little old (even if it has only been a month since she came to England, this is still book 6 + I need the next step whether it be different drama than boys or her finally choosing + seeing their love play out).

*possible spoil alert*
Harry. Dear Harry. I feel bad for him. I really do. But at the same time he’s manipulative, even if it is unknowingly. Mallory is his crutch. He says one thing but his actions prove otherwise. He says he chooses Noah over her & that she should explore this thing between her + Noah. (Side note: I don’t agree that Mal should have went from a serious relationship with Harry to a serious one with Noah within a span of a week either. She never had time to get her head straight knowing that once she got with Noah it was most likely *fingers crossed* a forever deal.) But she finally gets Noah + they’re happy, even if it has only been a few days. After Harry finds out Mal knows that he’s going to be upset, he doesn’t even really try to disguise it from her so she has to comfort him instead of him just being happy for her + his supposed best friend. Not to mention the cliffhanger.... do you do that to a “best mate”?

115% team Noah, he’s like the Phillip (That Boy) of England.
Him + Mal’s chemistry is off the charts!

Also, definitely read this series because to get this big of a reaction from me means Jillian knows what she’s doing...driving me insane + yet I am loving it! Lol

CW: underage drinking..a lot, not VERY descriptive intimate moments but not also not at all fade to black

I give this book 3.5 stars. It started out really well, then I had to push myself to finish it.

I love Noah and have been on his team since the beginning. I love that Mal and Noah grew closer while being out at the country house. I HATE that she can't stop trying to save poor pitiful Harry. If you are trying to start a new relationship with someone else, you can't keep jumping when the ex needs/wants you. I have wanted Mal to be with Noah since the beginning, but now I think he deserves so much better than her. Harry is so selfish and just wants to sabotage what Noah and Mallory are starting. If he really loved her, he wouldn't have treated her the way he did nor would he have let her go regardless of how Noah felt.
I can only hope with that cliffhanger ending that she doesn't make the stupid decision that I know she will in the next book.

I’ve stuck with this series in hopes that more would start happening, but I’m feeling so frustrated after finishing this book. I really don’t think it was necessary to have a full novel dedicated to the country house weekend. Nothing that exciting or interesting happened the whole time. It was actually kind of boring to read most of the time. I often found the characters annoying and frustrating, especially Mallory and Harry. And don’t get me started on the ending.

Man what an ending!!!!

This is the next installment in a great Jillian Dodd series!

Mal and Noah are just getting on their feet after Harry and Mal breaking up because Noah loves Mal. Talk about complicated!

But, Harry still wants to go to the country house so the gang all go to Harry’s house as a get away… only thing is, no one knows about Noah and Mal.

In a big house, you think it would be easy to hide, but not with Noah and Mal’s steam! They can’t keep away from each other… but this creates guilt for both Mal and Noah.

Not to mention, Mal starts to think what will happen to Harry? Someone will want him now…. Can Mal handle that?

With Harry hinting at wanting a sometime with Mal, Mal wondering if she can handle Harry with other girls, and Noah being his sweet and sexy self… what could possibly go wrong in a huge mansion all cramped and cozy together?!

I can’t wait for the next book to help with this cliff hanger! Jillian has done it again!!!

I’m team Noah all the way, but for those Harry lovers… you just wait!

I don’t even know where to start because the ending just has me mad and just WOW. Ok but back to the beginning. It is amazing how Jillian can write an entire book (that is not even short in length) based on three days of these characters' lives and still not be boring or lack a story. I do wish it would move a little faster but not because it is slow but because I WANT TO KNOW THE HEA!

This book has Mallory, Noah, Harry and Mohammed spending time at Harry’s country house. It is time for them to get away and escape. Harry is dreading having to go to Shanghai, Mohammed is still trying to explore his feelings for Naomi and Mallory and Noah are figuring out their new relationship. I loved Mallory and Noah’s ability to finally be more open and honest about their feelings. Their relationship really progressed and as a full blown member of #teamnoah I really enjoyed their story. But the four of them had their fun together too, it is never a dull moment with them. I am dying to see more from Mohammed and Naomi! Please let this continue in the next book. The next book will be The Choice and I can’t believe we have to wait until the winter! I am going to be very angry and worried until then.

Another fantastic installment in the London Prep series! 🙌

I really loved this story! It starts off where book 5, The Party, left off, with Mallory and the boys heading to Harry’s Country House for the first few days of their school break.

There are so many fun moments throughout this book, but there’s also still all the teenage angst and drama we’re used to seeing where Mallory’s involved. Her feelings towards Noah and Harry are confusing and complicated, plus she’s struggling with all the rapid changes occurring in her life.

This trip might have started out as the fun getaway they were all hoping for, but the way this book ended has me so anxious for what’s to come! Just when you think you know how things are gonna go, BAM! Another twist you didn’t see coming!

I can’t wait to continue the journey with Mallory and the group in The Choice, whenever it releases! I NEED to know what happens next!!

Oh wow. And we're back with thr boys club heading to the country house for the weekend. First, those Noah and Mal scenes, oh wow. Finally getting some action there. Of course we still have Mal being conflicted and not wanting to hurt Harry and being worried about telling their families about her and Noah being together. And it doesn't end there but the ending she tells Noah one thing and then the conversation at the party with Harry and him just laying it out there, and be all like we're young and come with me to Shanghai.
Like seriously Mal, get it together already, you can't be everything to both boys and except your relationships/friendships with them bot to change depending on who you pick. Either way one of those boys is going to hurt once she finally gives in to one of them fully. Now the dreadful wait until The Choice to see what she decides.

Harry, Mallory, Noah and Mohammad are now on break from school and decide to take a trip to Harry’s country house or should we say estate. Things are changing for them all in their personal lives.
Mallory’s parents are soon moving to London and reuniting with her in a week. She and Noah are now expressing how they feel for each other. Mohammad who we all love is now looking to start a relationship with Naomi. Harry who is need of a getaway from his family responsibilities decides that a boys trip and Mallory is a must before he is forced to leave for Shanghai. There they decide to make new memories together and forget just for sometime their worries.
This had me wanting to cry and swoon at the same time because the little moments that they share is so heartwarming. I can’t to read more and see what happens next to each of them and what will Mallory choose.

this book ahhhh…. i literally bought and reread the entire series to prepare for this book. it’s physically impossible for me to not enjoy a london prep book no matter how frustrating the characters are because i love reading and learning more about their life and world. this book did not disappoint, i loved reading about the boy’s club stay at the country house. finally after 5 entire books we got to see the couple that everyone has been waiting for. noah absolutely has my heart and i just hope mallory makes the right decision in the next book. i can’t wait to read the new book this fall, until then i will just continue to day dream about this series<33 i would also likely to say that mohammad is the absolute best character and i genuinely wish i had best friend like him.<33

Wellllllll.
Jillian is starting to give us a little spice in this story. Whew! The chemistry between Noah and Mallory is hot, hot, hot.
This story happens over 4 days that the crew is spending at the Harry's Country House over their break from school. It's a turning point in their lives as when this is over, Mallory's parents will be in London and Harry will be off to Shanghai.
The Country House is really a resort. These guys were spoiled with cooks, servers and help so that they could have all the fun times.

My take aways from this book are...
1. that this cliffhanger is probably the most suspenseful that I've felt since this series started. And I am left DYING to know what happens.
2. #teamnoah - I have waivered back and forth but I feel like I might be firmly in this camp now. :)

A continuation of Jillian Dodd’s popular London Prep book series, this latest installment follows the main characters as they embark on a no parents adventure to Harry’s country house north of London in preparation for him to leave for Shanghai on family business immediately following. The teens celebrate friendship and create new memories over their weekend holiday. The subplot we all have been waiting for… Will they or won’t they… was truly answered in the last book, but now we get to see Mallory and Noah test the waters of their newfound romance without trying to alienate their best pal, Harry. I am always intrigued with how profound their communication is as they work to form a deep committed relationship. I’m not gonna lie, the intense feelings are real! Just when things start getting juicy, Harry proposes an intriguing question for Mallory. I can’t wait to see how it all develops in the next installment, The Choice.

This book takes place at Harry’s cottage and I seriously love the friendship that Mallory, Noah, Mohammad and Harry have.

This book has so much detail it is incredible. Especially since this book takes place over 3 days! That’s right… just 3 days!

I am 💯 team Noah and I love the dynamic of both Mal and Noah in this book and can NOT wait until the next installment arrives!!!

Finally a chance with Noah and now she needs to make a choice. Left on a cliffhanger waiting for the next book. I feel if Harry didn't offer a proposition the path of Mallory and Noah would have been seamless. But now she has a choice to make and we have to wait to see what she decides. I am team Noah! Waiting patiently for "The Choice " hoping she considers Noah and proves he is her one and only.
