I Wanna Text You Up – Kattanj rám!

A lakótársam… és a legjobb barátnőm exe.
Amikor kitettem a LAKÓTÁRSAT KERESEK-hirdetést, legkevésbé őrá számítottam jelöltként.

I listened to the audio book of I Wanna Text You Up and omg what a blast! I laughed so many times while listening and it took me less than 24 hours to listen to the entire book because I didn’t want to hit pause. This is my first Teagan Hunter book and I’m looking forward to reading more. This one was so good!

Zoe is looking for a roommate after her best friend decides to move out with her boyfriend. Her flyer… gah! I love it:
ROOMMATE WANTED
Chicks or dudes welcome!

Looking for a new roomie? I have a place for you! Like your music loud? I own headphones. Enjoy having late-night guests over? Again, headphones. Want someone to help pay the bills? Do the dishes? Take out the trash? You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours (metaphorically, of course).

Check us out, getting along already.

Must be able to pay first and last month's rent up front.
Must be okay with Breakfast & Beats.
No dogs.
No trying to sleep with me.
Two bedrooms. One bathroom.
$350/month plus electricity.

If interested, email ineedarobin@gmail.com.
P.S. Wiener pics sent directly to my grandmother. Don't do that crap to her.

She starts emailing with a guy anonymously and thinks… he will be the perfect roommate. Only to find out it’s her best friends ex-boyfriend. Caleb is pretty perfect and he and Zoe’s friend ended on good terms, so with her blessing, they decide to give this roommate thing a go.

Oh the banter between these two! Their texts were so fun. This entire book was so fun. It had moments it was frustrating, sure, but overall, I really did love it! If you’re going to give this one a go I highly recommend trying out the audio! The narrator did a fantastic job.

I admit to being hesitant when I started reading this originally, because of the fact that it involves the ex of the heroine’s best friend but I was very glad I took the chance. What prompted me to go for it was that the amicable relationship between the exes and the fact that said ex, our hero, was genuinely a great guy in the last book.

Caleb and Zoe have strong chemistry. I love how they build up all aspects of their relationship with the physical component coming in later. Caleb is slower to open up but when he does so, he definitely goes up in my esteem. His “grand gesture” after a misunderstanding is awesome. Zoe is a great friend to Delia. She had an internal struggle that she overcame and when she did, she charmed me even more with her quirkiness.

The story has a good helping of humor, though I found it to be slightly less than book one. It was written well with strong imagery and pacing. Definitely a big win.

Safety: No others for either even though one tries to make the other jealous to get an admission of feelings. No rape or abuse.

Let’s Get Textual was one of my favorite books of 2017, and I Wanna Text You Up has just been added to my favorites of 2018! It takes a lot to make me laugh. The banter between Caleb and Zoe was HILARIOUS! I loved everything about this book. It was sweet, LOL funny, and Caleb and Zoe have chemistry that is off the charts hot. I’m giving this one 10 million “Edward Cullen” sparkly stars!

Ever since Teagan Hunter announced her upcoming book I Wanna Text You Up last year, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. If it turned out only half as hilarious and adorable as her last novel, Let's Get Textual, then this one would be another winner.

Zoe Williams is in need of a new roommate because her best friend/roomie (now ex-roomie) decided to move in with her boyfriend. When Caleb Mills responds to her 'Roommate Wanted' flyer, she is reluctant to let him live with her because Zoe is not only seriously crushing on him, Caleb is also her best friend's ex-boyfriend! When she gives in to his pleas, one thing is for sure: nothing can happen between them. Not even a baseball hat worn backwards or flirty texts can change that - or so Zoe hopes.

I Wanna Text You Up is first of all a fun play of words and a great title for the book. If you want something deep and meaningful, then this book is definitely not it. This story is supposed to make you laugh and make you feel good. If you had a bad day, then this story will definitely cheer you. The book is funny and has lots of hilarious banter between Zoe and Caleb. Most of this banter is, just like Let's Get Textual, via text.

Although the book is a funny romcom, Caleb has a dark secret carrying around with him. It's not until the very end (the last chapter actually) he finally reveals his dark and sad story. I do like characters with a rather dark past: It not only makes the character more interesting, it also gives answers about the character's current state: what shaped this character and why does this character act and behave certain ways. With this being said I think that Caleb's past is slightly out of place in this direction of the book, which is the funny direction. Caleb's shocking yet interesting past has potential for more chapters and fits better in a serious book than in a romcom. There is still so much to tell and I was bummed when it was revealed on barely two pages in the last chapter only. It seemed like it was only added to cause a little drama, which was not necessary in my opinion.
Zoe also has an interesting past and I wished I would've learned more about that too.

Nevertheless, Caleb is an amazing guy: He's funny, a hard worker, sexy, and a really loyal friend. And let's not forget he's a great cook too! I love it when men can cook because it makes them way more attractive in my eyes. <3 Caleb wasn't even on my radar much in Let's Get Textual. He only made small appearances there, plus he was 'just the ex-boyfriend'. This is why I really enjoyed getting to know him and seeing this hidden side of him. Caleb's character is so much deeper than what he let's people see on the outside which is his good looks and being a baseball athlete. He is definitely my favorite character in this novel.
Zoe is funny, sassy, and so exhausting! Seriously, how can one person be so demanding? She is not bad per se, she has a good heart, she's kind and all that but I would struggle to be her friend. She's clearly an extrovert and needs a lot of attention but me as an introvert would get exhausted fairly quickly if I were around her for too long. I think that she's only bearable in small doses. But that's just my personal opinion.

Teagan Hunter created a unique story with Let's Get Textual: The main characters, Delia and Zach, would communicate a lot of times via text. The texts were funny, sweet, and super sassy. And if an idea worked once, it should work a second time too, shouldn't it? Well, that's partly true in my opinion. Caleb and Zoe text a lot throughout I Wanna Text You Up. Although the contents of their texts were funny and super sassy, I was slightly bored with reading conversations through texts again. The only new thing was Caleb and Zoe's story, the concept was the same though.
I also wished that the texts would have had a date and a time specification. You never knew when they texted and for how many hours or days.

Despite my complaints, I Wanna Text You Up is still a decent and fun read: it's a four star rating for me.

**********

I really enjoyed it. But it wasn't as good as Let's Get Textual.
My review will be online on February 1st!

Oh, I can't wait for this!!! <3

don't get me wrong, cheese is my favorite dairy product. but it just isn't my favorite in books.

basic premise of this one is that girl's bestie moves out, she finds hot boy to live with. they fall for each other, but due to their very busy schedules they have to text a lot (hence the title of the book). if it sounds kind of lame and cheesy that's cause it was.

i really didn't hate this, in fact i kind of liked it. but there wasn't anything stand out. the characters were flat as printer paper, the angst was pretty non existent, the plot was also lacking. just very very meh. and the sex was pretty snooze worthy. the banter though, was pretty alright. enjoyable, maybe.

overall a waste of time but kind of like binge watching something stupid on netflix. a few laughs but kind of empty.

Another 4 stars.

I gobbled this one up in one sitting, mainly bc 1) I wanted to get to the good bits, which didn't happen until like 85% of the way through!!!!! For that alone I'd take a star off, dammit! 2) the H was interesting enough that I wanted to find out what the deal was with him. I always like the "jock" or "playboy" type of character being a lot more complex and deep and not at all what people peg him for.

I guess my biggest issue with this one is still the basic premise itself: how the guy could NOT work out with a perfectly nice girl in his ex, but CAN work out with her best friend. It's a little... weird. Not that a girl can't date her best friend's ex, but it raises questions.

Like why did his ex not like him enough to get to know him better? Did they just use each other for sex? They'd been dating almost a year or something like that, and she never learned what he does on Sundays? Visiting grandma is not a terrible secret to be keeping from your gf! The other stuff, okay, he might not want to share, but visiting grandma is pretty tame. Why is it that the best friend is the right one? The one to discover all his secrets, after just a few days of dating really, once they decided to "date."

I dunno, it makes me dislike his ex, the h of the first novel in this series. Makes me feel like she didn't care enough beyond getting her sex fix with his hot body. The current girl, the ex's best friend, she's more likable. She didn't go into a bunch of melodrama because he left her after having sex and cut their vaca short. She always knew about his issues, even tho she didn't know specifically what they were. It wasn't too hard to guess. She didn't even have to pay close attn.

Which brings me back to the dick of an ex-gf of his. Like I said in my other review, she's the reason I took a star off the first book. Now I feel like this book is getting a star off because of her too.

Anyway, fun read, just the like the first one. fast paced and lots of slow build with the flirting. Drove me nuts. Made me skip a LOT. But, a good little light read for a weekend in bed.

“Did you just ask me out on a date? I thought we talked about you trying to stick your ham in my meat wallet.”

Overview
Caleb & Zoe. Both college seniors. Told from Zoe’s POV

Characters
Caleb: we met Caleb in Book 1 and he really showed his sweet, loyal, protective side in that book. But, there is more to Caleb than meets the eye and that unfolds in this book. He's emotionally and physically drained, but he’s a great guy. Did I mention he is gorgeous and sexy too? 🥰

First impression of Caleb: I loved him in Book 1 and in this book I had a little pain in my heart for all that he was dealing with.

Zoe: she is an artist who is a bit sarcastic, quirky, sassy and she doesn’t take any crap from anyone. She’s a really bad cook but a decent baker. She’s confident in who she is and certainly knows how to flirt.

First impression of Zoe: she is funny and has some quick wit.

The Story
Zoe’s BFF moves out to go live with her boyfriend (Delia & Zach from Book 1) and so Zoe ends up with Caleb as her new roomie and sparks fly.

These two knew each other in Book 1 before they became roomies in Book 2 (Caleb is Delia’s ex). As they seem to be on completely different schedules and never actually see each other, a lot of their dialogue is via text message. Their text message banter is fun and flirty and brings lots of smiles. The texting actually makes up a very large portion of the book, which is good because the time they actually spend together face to face was a little lackluster.

Outside of the fun text messages, the rest of the story was pretty blah. There really wasn’t much of a plot and the love story was a really, really slow burn. Caleb was hiding something about his family and he didn’t actually talk in detail about it until about the 92% mark. Why didn’t he just tell Zoe about it earlier? That’s a good question. It was a ploy to add drama and it didn’t work for me. I was frustrated that he just wouldn’t talk about his family and then when his back story was revealed it wasn’t anything earth shattering.

Overall
I had so much fun with Book 1 and I was hoping to find that same kind of fun in Book 2, and I did....to an extent. While the characters were texting, the fun was present. But when they were face to face, some of the spark got lost.

H likable? Yes
h likable? Yes
h virgin? No
First time they kiss : 40%
First time they sleep together: 84%
OW/OM drama? No
H/h cheat? No
Steamy? Meh
Did I skip pages? A few
How the book made me feel: the flirty, witty banter was fun. The rest was a bit boring.
Big secrets? well....Caleb thinks he has a big secret, but it’s just his family drama. So....no secrets.
Did I cry? No
Cliffhanger? No
How it ends:
Recommend? you decide....text messages, so fun to read. Story itself, kind of meh.

Do you have to read book 1 to understand this one?
No. The author does a good job of catching the reader up on the important Book 1 details by adding little pieces of info throughout the story.

Quotes
"Did you just… did you just throw a fucking potato at me? In the middle of the store?”

“I don’t argue. I tactfully sway your opinions in my favor.”

“Caleb: It’s just… my past is a sore subject for me. I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now.
Me: No shit. That bad?
Caleb: Dick stuck in a zipper bad.”

“Caleb: You never stop surprising me.
Me: Is that a bad thing?
Caleb: Not at all.
Caleb: Unless you’re surprising me with herpes or something. Then that’s bad.
Me: Noted.”

“Excuse me, I do not creep. I… admire until I’m noticed.”

“Did you get lost in Narnia or something? What in the hell is taking so long?"

"Caleb Mills is hot.
Caleb Mills in a baseball cap? Hotter.
Caleb Mills coaching baseball? Holy shit, hold my panties."

“being naked on the beach does not sound appealing. Sand would get in all your no-no spots, and no one likes that.”

“Caleb: It’s OUR bed.
Me: No, that is MY bed. I just let you sleep in it. Me: Speaking of, we really need to get you your own. I’m tired of waking up to the smell of your farts in the middle of the night.
Caleb: Those are YOUR farts waking you up. Trust me, they wake me up too.”

NO SPOILERS!

I Wanna Text You Up was an incredibly sweet, sexy, hilarious, and highly entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and I absolutely loved it! Teagan Hunter truly outdid herself with this book, and I absolutely loved her writing style and the amazing storyline and characters she created. I Wanna Text You Up was pure romantic comedy gold, and if you're looking for a story that will keep you enthralled and entertained from start to finish, then this is definitely the book for you!

Caleb and Zoe were amazing and I honestly adored them and their story so freaking much. I loved their personalities and chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. The book was written solely from Zoe's POV, and even though I would have loved it even more from Caleb's as well, I still loved reading every single word of their story. The abundance of quick-witted, unfiltered, and hilarious banter between Caleb and Zoe was utterly addicting and entertaining, and by far some of the best I've ever read in a romantic comedy. There were so many laugh-out-loud moments that I officially lost count. Before I read the synopsis for I Wanna Text You Up, I honestly thought the story was going to be about Zoe and Robbie (Zach's best friend/roommate from Let's Get Textual), but I quickly realized that it wasn't. I have to say, I loved Caleb and Zoe together so much more, and was very happy that Teagan Hunter wrote their story instead. They were a perfect match for each other, and I loved their story from beginning to end. Everything about this book was beyond amazing, and I truly don't have anything negative to say about it. Ms. Hunter did a phenomenal job with this book, and I was extremely pleased with the conclusion to Caleb and Zoe's story.

I Wanna Text You Up was a sweet, sexy, funny, and immensely entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and will definitely be a TOP FAVORITE read of the year! I've said this before, and I will gladly say it again, Teagan Hunter is an exceptionally talented author, and I have dearly loved all of the books I've read from her so far. The humor and wit she weaves into every book she writes is nothing short of unforgettable and amazing, and I honestly can't get enough of all of it. I Wanna Text You Up and Let's Get Textual are pure romantic comedy gold, and are hands down my favorite novels from her so far. Teagan Hunter is a true romantic comedy genius, and I am so freaking excited to read more of her amazing books!

Caleb’s great. Zoe’s great. Them together? Not so much + it felt forced.

I was hesitant going into this one because Caleb's Delia's ex boyfriend and Delia and Zoe are best friends. But like I said, both Caleb and Zoe are great so I wanted to give them a chance.

Eh....

I wasn't really invested in their relationship plus it was way too cheesy for my liking. I don't mind cheesiness when it's done well (like in book 1) but here? Hmmmmmmmm not really.

Oh my God! I loved, loved, loved this book! ❤️❤️❤️ I can say it’s the best, most wonderful book I’ve read this year! And yes, I liked the first one too, but this one was soooo beautifulll! I’m in love! Oh Caleb! What have you done to me? (I always liked this name. But now I love it even more. How is it possible that a character can spark so many feelings inside of me?!)
Zoe and Caleb were so cuteee. And Mittens, oh that sweet cat (I’m a cat woman myself so yeah, I melted this time too - the first time I melted was when I read the first book in the series Let’s get textual, which was also an awesome book and which had a lovely baby goat as a pet).
I just adore books which have a big percent of them with phone texts/emails. I don’t know why, but it makes them more interesting.
I feel so compelled to read all the books Teagan wrote! Because, man, I love her writing style.
Fav quotes:

This is the second book in the Texting series and even though the main characters in all books are somehow connected, either by being friends, roommates or family members, you can read them as standalones… yes, the previous couples make appearances but you get all the necessary informations to enjoy each story individually, so there’s that… :)

Out of the three books in this series I read so far, this one was my least favourite… I’m not really sure why but I just didn’t connect as much with Zoe and Caleb… don’t get me wrong, I still liked them plenty and gave their story 4,5 stars :) this book is just as witty and hilarious as the other ones in this series and involve a lot of texting ;) Zoe is looking for a new roommate after Delia, her best friend and the heroine of the first book moved out… a guy responds to her add and they exchange emails for a while using nicknames, so she has no idea that at the other end of that conversation is Caleb, Delia’s ex… their break up was totally amicable and drama free, so there’s no bad blood between them :) but Zoe is horrified when she realizes that ;) mostly because she already had a crush on him… and it gets even worse when she agrees to being roommates with him :) they start off as friends, even though both of them are attracted to one another… ;) I enjoyed this particular installment a little less than the others for two main reasons: #1 Zoe is just not my type of heroine… she was a bit too much and all over the place and #2 the whole conflict at the end of the story before the happy ending could have been avoided if they would just talk to each other… I am looking at you Caleb :/ but throughout the majority of the book the banter is absolutely hilarious so if you are looking for a good entertainment I can easily recommend you this book, and this whole series ;)

XOXO

4.5 Stars!

Let me just start by saying, I loved Let's Get Textual, so I was all down for reading this. You know what... I kind of loved it more than Let's Get Textual. I mean, Caleb is freaking amazing!

Zoe is the sassy ex-roomate of Delia (from Let's Get Textual), who is now living alone begrudgingly. She puts up a flyer for a roommate and ends up in a fun back and forth email conversation with a potential renter. They agree to meet and lo and behold, the potential is Caleb, Delia's ex-boyfriend aka the nicest guy on campus. (No seriously) Anywho, Zoe kind of has had a little crush on him, but she needs a roommate for companionship and he needs a roommate to save money. So, they agree to try it. It works. It works so good, they can't stop thinking about each other. **wink, wink** This of course, eventually leads to more than just roommate-iness. Along the way, we are treated to witty, banter, sexual innuendos galore and some awesome text conversations, because, hello, did you see the title?! There is, of course, something that gets in the way of the HEA, but when they get their HEA it is pretty, gosh darn, sweet, sexy and amazing!

I love Teagan Hunter's writing style. She always gives characters you can't help but love. Seriously, Hunter is on my must-read list.

If you're looking for a witty, sexy rom-com, you will LOVE this!

Quick Take:
While this book wasn't as awesome as the first one in the series, it was still a good read. This one follows Delia's bff/ex-roommate Zoe and Delia's ex-boyfriend living together and all the ups and downs with being attracted to your best friend's ex. I did end up liking Zoe more in this book and I've always loved Caleb in the first book so this was fun. I definitely understood Zoe's frustration throughout the book. I do enjoy Teagan Hunter's style of writing and she does a good job of keeping it with a fast pace.

Sweet follow up to book one Let's Get Textual. I liked Caleb and Zoe's story.
Zoe was zany and hilarious. Caleb was sweet, but strong and a little reserved about his family or past.

No uznajte, ešte aj meno má sexy.

Či by som Vám knihu odporučila? Rozhodne. Najmä ak hľadáte oddychové čítanie prešpikované humorom a romantikou.

Už som ďakovala vydavateľstvu zelený kocúr? Nevadí, poďakujem im radšej ešte raz, tentokrát za to, že vydávajú takéto skvelé knihy.

I seriously wanted to love this one, like really seriously wanted to, but sadly it just didn't work for me. First off, I think the girl code runs deep in me because I never could connect with Zoe and Caleb as a couple since Caleb also dated Delia (the h's BFF)... it just felt too incestious to me. Secondly, the drama at the outer banks just pissed me off and the excuse that was given wasn't justifiable IMO. Caleb was a A#$hole for doing what he did and letting his family manipulate him like that. If I were dating him I would've told him to take a hike for that. I lost all interest in them as a couple at that point. Lastly, the ending was just way too simplistic and easy and made me roll my eyes... like poof! Ok he said he's sorry and will never do it again and everything is perfect afterwards... puhleeze. I also noticed a few lines in the sex scenes that were almost identical to book one! The "I know, I know" and "move your hand" lines to be specific. Too much de ja vu for me.

It just makes me sad because book one was so fresh, fun and well done and this book can't hold a candle to it. Sigh...

This was a super fun, sexy and sweet spin-off story in the series of friends that start their relationships through text messages or emails. Zoe needs a roommate since Dally has moved out to live with her boyfriend. So when Caleb answers Zoe’s ad for a new place to live, the problem isn't about letting a crazy person move into the space it is the attraction that Caleb and Zoe have towards each other. This is a problem because Caleb dated Dally and we all know about girl code!!

This specific video review will be included in the September 2019 wrap-up.

First I was scared, I got a feeling in the first one that this was gonna be them.. I'm a loyal person to my friends so I truly believe in girl-code/bro-code. Even though we knew they ended in good terms it was kind of weird..

But I truly enjoyed it, it was fun and exciting! The author made me forget that drama bit.
Caleb and Zoe are easy people to like! I didn't like the secrets Caleb had, but so get em!
Overal great read!
