Can you fall in love with someone you've never met?
I did.
And it shattered me.

Bennett Kane was every book boyfriend I'd ever read- and as a popular book blogger, I read a lot. Did I mention he's an author? The quiet, mysterious kind who prefers to remain a faceless enigma.

It started with an email about my review of his debut release but quickly became so much more. I didn't need to know exactly who he was to know he was exactly who I needed. I didn't need to see his face to know he took my breath away. What we had went beyond romance. It was perfection. And when it came time for us to meet in person, nothing could've stolen the smile from my face...

Except the fact that my best friend met him first. And she fell head over heels in love with him.
So, I did what any decent friend would do.
I let him go.

Life moved on.
We moved on.

Or so I thought...
Until now. Bennett Kane just walked through the door of my coffee shop with a new story to tell- and he's made sure this is one I won't ever forget.

**Book Two of the Sweet Southern Heat series. It is recommended that you read book one, Sterling, first but Kane may be read as a standalone.**

SPOILER WARNING!!!

So this is stupid. It takes more then half of the story for the MCs to finally meet and a few days before they do, Hero attends a wedding in which he meets a woman named Stella (who happens to be heroine's BFF). He is not into this woman. He says she is beautiful and all that and that had he not met heroine, he would have been all over "that". He talks and dances with this woman and never flirts BUT when she asks him to dance with her, he fantasizes that he is dancing with the heroine and pulls the OW close and has his hand in her butt crack or something. When he comes out of his fantasy, he apologizes and leaves her.

The OW then has this fantasy of her own making that she is in love with this guy and that he was "into" her. She tells heroine all about him and when Hero shows up and finally meets heroine, they have sex and are supposedly in love but then the OW shows up and at first she thinks that he is there for HER and that her BFF had found him and brought him to her to surprise her. When she finally gets a clue and Hero sets her straight, she angrily leaves and heroine is devastated that she may lose her BFF. She remembers her convo with the BFF of how he was "into" her at the wedding and is hurt and somewhat doesn't believe Hero when he explains that he was thinking/fantasizing about her when he was dancing with the OW so she breaks things off.

First of, the blurb is misleading. The BFF did NOT meet him first. She & Hero had been in a sort of relationship for some time and they had developed feelings for each other. She told the BFF all about him (including his name) AND the Hero never really gave any indication to the OW that he wanted anything with her, so she is delusional and heroine chose HER over Hero. Not cool.

Then of course the BFF finally sees the light and she apologizes and HEA. So, NO, I don't recommend this nonsense.

What can I say about Kane? Wow, I loved this book! If you read book one, Sterling, then you know Bennett Kane is Jayce Sterling's best friend and avoids settling down like the plague! However, after receiving a not so great review on his book from Rie's Reads, he decides to contact the book reviewer and the flirtatious playboy is hooked from the start! I love how adorable these two were together because it wasn't a typical relationship. They were hundreds of miles apart but still had an amazing chemistry together. I thought I was going to combust if they did not hurry up and meet in person! But what do you do when you and your best friend like the same person? Do you step down or do you fight? I really liked how Korie felt a loyalty to her friend...even if there were times I thought her friend was completely over exaggerating. This book, like book one, is relatable and I think that's what makes it so good! This type of stuff happens in real life and people actually go through this sort of thing! This is a must-read series and I cannot wait for more to come! Definitely recommend!

Although she didn’t really like The Girl Next Door, she did love the writing by Bennett Kane, he had potential and she let her followers know it would earn him a second date with her, she never expected a response from Bennett Kane asking about the date or that he would be so persistent.
Neither of them expected the instant chemistry they had, how easy they got along, even though they were miles apart they both could feel the instant connection and became each other’s addiction. Everything was amazing between them, more than either of them thought until he went to see Korie at work and heard a familiar voice and everything falls apart.
Korie couldn’t believe what was happening as much as she wanted to continue what she had with Bennett there was no way she could do that to her best friend, even if it cost her, her own happiness.
Bennett is lost, Korie was everything he never saw coming, with a little encouragement from his friend he knows what he has to do to make her his again, but will it work.

Heavens me!!!

I absolutely loved this story.
Sweetness in every page
Sexy in everything else!!

These two are the perfect match and his troubles/past are what make him seem so much more real.

I think the idea of the coffee shop-slash-bookstore is a fantasy we all love the idea of!
I’d be too scared they’d ruin all my beautiful babies and wouldn’t let them eat and read, but hey that’s just me 😜😜

Another gorgeous story
Another set of amazing characters
Another reason to love the Author, the Devine Delaney

I really enjoyed Kane, and visiting a small town again. This is the second book in the Sweet Southern Heat series, and can be read as a standalone.

Korie and Bennett are strong characters. Korie runs a coffee shop and writes reviews on her blog. She always finds something redeeming, which I can relate to. Bennett is the author of one such book, and he messages her, referencing her review. From there the bond builds, the banter is tossed back and forth, giving me a few laughs, and I loved watching their relationship bloom, before they even met in person. It may seem weird, but these kinds of things happen, I've seen it. Having that connection before meeting, can be powerful, and I felt that with these characters.

The chemistry was hot, and the characters were relatable. Another fun, quick read in this series, and I look forward to more from this author.

Kane By Delaney Foster:

Okay right off the bat I love Korie. She seems so relatable, even with the wishing you could read as a full time job. Her review was funny! I love her writing.
Bennett is sweet with his sister and the fact that she loves Korie is awesome! Bennett is also a huge flirt. But the flirting between him and Korie is smooth. Oh no Stella met Bennett!? Awww Bennett surprised Korie!!! Oh my gosh!?! Their date then Stella!?! Oh how they hurt I feel the pain! Oh my gosh how raw HIS Story written for her. Oh my gosh!!! I freaking love the ending! So perfect!!!!

The blurb from Kane had me so intrigued, ridiculously excited and anticipatory for what author Delaney Foster had in store for us here. She knocked it out of the park.

We were treated to a very sweet, fun and intelligent heroine, balanced wonderfully with our handsome and titillating hero. The story itself was romantic, mesmerising and appealed greatly to my own book blogger heart.

Delaney Foster managed to bring oodles of wit, sexy Romance and tenderness to this remarkable love story.

This is my 1st book by Delaney Foster and I absolutely loved it.
The banter, the connection, the laughter, the tension between the 2 main characters was off the chain.
And, the storyline gave us an small amount of hope that sometimes the impossible can happen and that the happily ever after can be reachable when you find true love even through the pages of a book.
With that said I totally recommend this book and Delaney Foster.

I love heroines who are sweet, sassy, and give the heroes a run for their money. Korie is a terrific character and is the perfect match for Bennett. This story is so good and my favorite of this series so far. I couldn’t put it down and barley slept so I could find how out it all ends. Losing sleep stinks, but this story makes it worth it.

Yep 5 stars!

Delaney Foster cannot disappoint! I love these sweet southern heat books. They dig just a little deep but not too deep. I hate when books drag something out that definitely shouldn't and she definitely hits the target every time. Can't wait to read the next book!

Bennett and Korie are made for each other. Until some major miscommunication get in the way. I love how the side gigs of author and reviewer played a big part in their story.

Within the first few pages of this book, you’re hooked. The emotional connection is there. Lots of interesting banter that showcases the hue of personalities. That is good story telling!

The banter and witty humour continues, which I adored. Immediately you want Rie to be successful in every and all endevours and never let bad things befall her. Again, fantastic story telling. It was the right sort of drama, where hearts fluttered and stopped. Amazing!

Note this is romcom, so don’t expect the kinky stuff or the deep rooted heartache. It has the more stereotypical romcom moments, which is good for when you need a sweet escape.

I loved this book so very much! I loved everything about it; the story line, the wonderfully written characters! I loved that Bennett is an author and Korie, besides the coffee shop, is a blogger and blogs her reviews of books that she's read. In this case, she's read Bennett Kane's book and has given him a 4 star review and although she did say something about what she liked about the book, she also pretty much tore up his characters. (I think we can say we have all done this a time or two!). Now, he does read her blog and immediately emails her. These two are so right for each other...he stalks her social media accounts, she tries to stalk his, but he has no pictures of himself and nothing in the form of pictures come up when she Google's him. Nothing! Nada!

Their relationship begins with the emails, which turns into phone calls, which turns into video chatting, which will eventually turn into meeting face to face. And when they meet....lord have mercy and call the preacher because you just know that these two will go straight from the bedroom right into the honeymoon after a quick wedding! Uh, no. That does not happen because something else happens to kill all of her happiness and stars in her eyes and to throw cold water onto him and kill off what he thought would have been his HEA. You'll just have to read to find out, cause I for one will not say..although I am sure others will have.

Anyway, you will definitely love this story and you will certainly love Korie and Bennett, as well as their family and friends who are there for both of them when they are needed. Such wonderful characters are all throughout this wonderfully written book that will ignite the romantic fire in your heart!

I highly recommend this book!

Ever had those moments where you want to escape from mainstream and do something different?

So I wanted read something light and romantic (oh and something that is not YA nor paranormal).

That's how I met 'Kane'.

To be honest Kane was actually better than I thought and I'm glad selected this for my little Saturday experiment 🖤

Here are the things I enjoyed the most:

1. The heroine

Korie Lawson is an amazing 27 years old woman. She is a bookworm and she runs her own coffee shop. This girl indeed knows how to balance her life with books and coffee.

2. The hero

Bennett Kane is smart, sexy and stubborn. He is not the typical author character that we meet in books. By the way I can't help, but I always picture Andreas Pietschmann as Bennett Kane.

3. The banter

Delaney Foster has a way of using words. I really enjoyed the conversations between Korie and Bennett. (Actually I saved some of the quotes to my phone. Thank you Delaney for these amazing quotes. I love them)

Kane is a bit shorter novel when compared to others and I felt like watched a movie! I enjoyed every scene in the book.

Kane is the second novel in Sweet Southern Heat series. But you can read it as a standlone (which is exactly what I did).

If you are ready for a steamy banter between a strong, bookish heroine and a hot author then you should definitely check out this book 🙌🏼

Just Perfect!!!
True Love!!!
Meant to be!!!

Words cannot explain how much I loved this book. The banter had me in stitches. Just loved it to pieces!!!

Korie is a girl after my own taste. I related to her so much. I loved how much she enjoyed reading and it was her escape. Not to mention how she has a blog to review the books she has read. She is like my doppelgänger!!!!! Serious girl crush happening over here.

Bennett - where to even start. I loved how he was mysterious in the beginning and as the book went on you learned more and more about him. I loved his sense of humor and how “real” he was with Korie. I am claiming Bennett too!!!!

Delaney Foster, this book was devoured within hours. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. Seriously, I am addicted to everything that is Bennett and Korie!!!

Excellent Read. Being an avid reader, I must say I fell in love with the storyline and the characters in “Kane”. The banter between the characters had the perfect balance between funny, mysterious and romance.

Korie, a blogger, wrote a not so raving review about Bennett’s book. Her less than stellar review led to a series of back and forth emails. Emails that led to a relationship that despite a few obstacles was meant to be, or was it? Perhaps for Korie and Bennett, living in a bookwork fantasyland is the only way.

This was a wonderful book that touched my heart in so many ways. I highly recommend grabbing it up ASAP and finding out if a HEA is possible for two people that live by the written word in a social media setting.

2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for “Kane”, a guy after my own heart.

Kane is my new favorite of the Sweet Southern Heat series! There's an underlying tone of heartache, but it's overshadowed by friendships, laughter, sarcasm and a budding relationship that comes as a surprise! How Bennett and Korie met has me reflecting on my own life. How a chance meeting of one, in the book world, has snowballed into numerous new and wonderful friendships all over the world! Bennett and Korie are wonderful characters. I enjoyed how social media contributed to this story and the benefits of FaceTime! But when Kane and Korie finally meet the chemistry is hot! I loved Jayce, Stella, Alyssa and Jessica, their personalities and how they enrich the story too! Yip, Kane is my new favorite!

🔥😍🔥😍🔥😍Can I just say this book made me LOL, enjoy the banter between this couple, the heart tug they felt and this was all before they met...then the hawt, explosive chemistry detonated when they finally did meet but a more destructive bomb was waiting around the corner and OMG...I had to put this one down for just a little while so my heart would settle and I could see where it all went wrong😢😢😢 They were perfect together and for each other...grab this AWESOME read to see where these two go. Book Review: Kane (Sweet Southern Heat 2)
Author: Delaney Foster
FIVE STARS
Korie is a book blogger and writes book reviews as well as owns and operates her own coffee shop/bakery.
Bennett Kane a financial consultant by day and author by night.
A book review leads to an invitation to dinner and there we have a romance in bloom. This story has it all. The laughs, the tears, the emotions.
Delaney Foster is a word smith and I adore her books. They are great and keep you wrapped up in them until you find you have read them from beginning to end in one sitting. I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us with the 3rd Sweet Southern Heat.

Wow......you never know how your words will touch another person.
Korie is a blogger and reviewer. She loves books and coffee, I can relate lol. Her latest review has caught the attention of the author in a way she never would have guessed.
Bennett Kane is an author who sees his review by Korie and can’t help but respond. He wants to get to know her.....but he doesn’t share everything, he can’t
Some things we keep inside, letting them eat us alive at times...things we have no control over.
Will Korie and Bennett be able to have their happily ever after, or are words just not enough

I read the first book in the series and it good enough that I came back for book 2. It's not that it's a bad read. It isn't by any means it's just that I read a lot and need more. This author writes safe books and I need books that shake me up more. I did enjoy reading about Bennett meeting his match but to be honest I found the wedding incident more of a distraction than it adding any weight to their story. Not too sure about the h, while I wanted to be a fan in the end she was more of a let down. This is only my opinion and I am clearly in the minority so please keep that in mind.

Korie and Bennett are my favorite couple!! I love the dynamics between these two. Korie writes a less than favorable review of Bennett’s book. What does Bennett do? Flirt and ask her out of course.
Bennett is elusive to his readers and a perpetual bachelor due to his heartbreaking past. Can Korie get him to open up and give love a chance?
The plot twists and secondary characters make this an all around phenomenal read!

I loved this second book in the "Sweet Southern Heat" Series. I adore how they built their connection with each other before even meeting in person. But what do you do when your best friend meets him first and is head over heels for him? That's what Korie had to decide. This is a very relatable book with all the feels. Their banter has you laughing out loud. I highly recommend this series.
