Meara Platt is happily married to her Russell Crowe look-alike husband, and they have two terrific children. She lives in one of the many great towns on Long Island, New York, and loves it, except for the traffic. She has traveled extensively, occasionally lectures and finds time to write. Her favorite place in all the world is England’s Lake District, which may not come as a surprise since many of her stories are set in that idyllic landscape, including her Romance Writers of America Golden Heart award winning story.
Garden of shadows. I love this historical romance/fantasy. Julia has Love her little cousin that she has raised as her own but was scared when his uncle Douglas came to take him from her. Charlie had become sick and didn’t have any friends till the faerie King Cadeyrn started talking to him. Charlie thought he was helping both Julia and the King but the King was really only interested in fulfilling the future of the faeries. Douglas has to fight to keep Julia from the King. This was a really enjoyable book to read.
The garden of light King Cadeyrn has to start over to find the one to help him. Melody has only just arrived at the vicarage a little while before she see’s a man laying in the bluebells. King Cadeyrn doesn’t understand how she can see him as most humans can’t. The story started a little slow but then I couldn’t put it down and it broke my heart towards the end. Even with a happy end someone has to die
Garden of dragons This is the third book about Saron and Annabelle. Saron is a dragon shifter and Annabelle is to be his dragon mate. I didn’t like this story as much as the other two and the ending was a little disappointing. He goes off for a while then when he returns but no idea what happened or why he really left for so long. Then it just ends.
Book 1: Garden of Shadows From the first paragraph I was hooked and couldn't put this story down. Meara Platt wove quite the tale of love right to the dark realm of the Fae! Julia has taken care of her sickly cousin since the day Charlie was born. Now that his Uncle Douglas, the Earl of Eastbourne, has discovered he has a nephew, he wants him back! The betrayal runs deep in this story...lies, blackmail, and most importantly love! The Fae King Cadeyrn wants Julia to be his Queen. She can bring new life to the Fae and they need her to fulfill a prophecy so they can defeat the Dragon Lords. When Douglas realizes he love both Julia and Charlie can he defeat the King Cadeyrn? Will the Julia and Douglas ever learn to trust with so much betrayal thrown at them...A beautifully written story. The characters are full of depth and you really want all parties to win.
Book 2: Garden of Light This book was phenomenal! In book one Garden of Shadows we meet King Caderyn, a powerful dark Fae, he is dangerous and manipulative! In Garden of Light we meet a whole different King! He is brave, compelling, funny and trying hard to feel human emotions. Melody is a vicar's daughter and step daughter of the new vicar of St Lodore's. She can see the Fae King and that in itself give him and the Fae hope that she is the one who will save them from the 5 Dragon Lords! All the King has to do is have her fall in love with him, "couple" with him and agree to be his Queen...all before the red moon! No easy task as Melody won't "Fall" for anyone who can't love her...The King has trouble with relating to human feelings, in fact none of the Fae feel like Humans feel!! So try as he might Caderyns works to have Melody love him while at the same time tries to feel love for her...he just isn't sure he is capable of love..With the head Dragon Lord coming closer and stronger to defeating the Fae, Melody is truly needed to love and trust Caderyn. What will it take to convince Melody to let go and give all to the Fae King. She surely puts Caderyn through a lot and boy is he sexy!!! This story was so compelling and enchanting I couldn't put it down. The characters, all the descriptions and details were so real I could envision the Fae kingdom! I felt at times I was watching a movie in my head.
Book 3: Garden of Dragons Wow! I really enjoyed this 3rd book in the Dark Gardens series! Saron Blakefield the Duke of Draloch and a handsome Dragon wins Harleigh Hall and now becomes the guardians of its two occupants. Lady Anabelle does everything she can to retain the property! She threatens, deals and tries to impress the Duke of the properties values...Nothing works. The ancient Stone of Draloch tells Saron Lady Anabelle is his dragon mate. Not only does he have to convince her of that but he must agree and accept the news knowing what lies in the other realm! With the Dragon Lords preparing another battle he must fight the evil without putting Anabelle in danger! Anabelle falls in love and becomes the dragon's mate and must convince Saron she can and will help defeat the pesky dragons! The journey they both face is quite vivid and well written. I couldn't put this book down! Once I could go to sleep my dreams were filled with dragons...Can't wait to read about Bloodaxe!
Garden of Shadows... An enjoyable paranormal regency romance. This story was entertaining and Douglas and Julia are wonderful characters. If you like something a little different to the norm regency romance then this might be for you.
Garden of Light... Captivating and enchanting, I enjoyed the story and romance between Cadeyrn and Melody. A magical world of fascination and danger and a wonderful happily ever after.
Garden of Dragons... A captivating paranormal story and romance. I enjoyed the chemistry and banter between Saron and Anabelle.
This is a fun set. Although the books can almost stand alone, there is some follow-through and some gain in intensity with each volume. There is also some reduction in reality with each subsequent story, which is nice. The characters are nicely filled, wonderful and fun. Imagination runs riot, but reality has enough control to keep in touch. I liked them,so I got the next 2.
Garden of Shadows: **** I’ve read it before and it was good, so now I read it again 😉 Garden of Light : **** A nice mix of romance and fantasy (and I liked the way Meara Platt joked around with the name Babcock 😁 Garden of Dragons: **** Interesting 😉 The ending is a bit sudden though. Charlie's story from Garden of Shadows: ** Hmmm. I could have done without it 😐
This series brings us in to the good in the Fairy world and the evil of the underworld. Good dragons fighting off the evil of the underworld dragons . I love how easily they move too and fro from the Fairy world to our world. Enjoy!
