Twisted Devil is recommended for readers 18+ as it contains some content and scenes that might be upsetting for some readers, so please check the preface before deciding whether to embark on Tyler and Ruby’s journey!
Ivy Blake lives in the countryside and when she’s not writing romance, she’s taking long walks, reading great books and catching up on her favourite TV shows (while snuggling with her cats of course!).
At its core, this story follows a familiar blueprint: girl arrives in a new town, collides with the resident bad boy, suffers through his torment until the animosity slowly melts into affection, and eventually, they land on a happily-ever-after. While it’s executed with solid writing and enjoyable pacing, the bones of the narrative feel recycled—almost as if we’re being served the same dish with only slight variations in seasoning.
What holds the book back most is the lack of layered character development. The leads risk feeling like archetypes rather than fully realized individuals, which makes it harder to invest deeply in their journey beyond the predictable romance beats. That said, the strength lies in the author’s world-building. The setting feels immersive and textured, a living backdrop that adds weight and atmosphere even when the characters themselves fall short. It’s a story that entertains in the moment, but with more complexity in the characters, it could have had the power to resonate long after the final page.
“Because you taught me what was actually important and worth it.”
Tyler Katz is Captain of the Swim Team, top student and all around Mr Popular. His wealthy parents have placed a lot of pressure on him to be the best. Ruby is new to the school and area as she just moved with her father and his very young girlfriend whom she doesn’t like.
This is a typical bully romance with an angry Tyler since his parents are overbearing and a sassy Ruby who can’t fight her attraction to the mean boy. I didn’t really feel their story and felt bored multiple times skimming. Being the 3rd in a series I would have liked a bit more character cameos of the 1st two couples. It was also more slow burn with just a couple of spicy scenes.
One message I liked about the story is the simple concept “But being scared of the truth doesn’t make it any less real.” We forget about this a lot and it stops us from standing up for ourselves and others.

*Spoiler alert: This book might have a stronger review from me if it had been sp!it into two. The story about Tyler and Ruby could have been good in its own right. It was weakened by the story of Bella being weaved in when it should have, perchance, been Book 2, especially because it deals with such a serious issue as sexual assault by a coach. When I say weakened, I do not mean weakened by the nature of the story, but by the inability to delve far enough into it. I wanted to love Ruby and Tyler, but all I really felt was the superficiality of the characters. There was even a good background story about Ruby to exp!ain her desire to drink that was mentioned.

For about 65% of the reading I was pretty sure I'll end it up in a DNF, yet after that it was a completely different story, almost like two distinct people wrote each one of the two parts, the only constant is Bella's character, my favorite from this book by the way.
I heavily disliked both MC's, though they got some depth and some sweetness by the end, and the dialogue got better too, plus not all adults are a lost cause this round, so I guess there's hope, hence the 4 stars, more than it deserves, but this one was better than the previous two, also it brings to light at least two delicate issues (abuse and discrimination) which I do appreciate in a book.
This was an interesting addition to the series. Ivy Blake follows her guide for the book, which, while not bad makes me not really want to continue reading her books. Girl moves to the town, accidentally gets on the wrong side of boy, boy terrorizes girl and then eventually comes around to loving said girl, HEA, The End. While well written it is essentially the same book over and over again. The characters could use a little more development but the world building is great.

Ruby and her family has moved to a new town and that also means a new high school. She has always been the one that has friends and isn't one that would get into trouble. She bumps into Amber and Tyler when she checks out her new school. So far so good, now this is a bully romance I would say it's dark. But yet it is really good. Tyler might want to make Ruby's life harder by giving her a hard time. Oh I don't want to spoil anything.
I liked this one and honestly it is the first book I've read by Ivy Blake and I will picks up the rest of the books in this series.
This book had great potential...I don't know where it went wrong though. I felt like there's a whole chunk of the book missing, like when did their attraction actually start, when did the hate end? It was so abrupt. The plot was good, the execution? Not so much. And bella's story just felt unnecessary in this book. And ugh...the character's felt like completely different people from start to end?
Sigh...I don't usually give out negative reviews, I feel like if you have nothing good to say, don't say it at all. But I was just so disappointed here and wanted to say it.
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Tyler and Ruby's story. This is a well written emotionally charged story, with family dynamics, friendships, intrigue, bullying, heartbreak, challenges, drama, twists and turns, revelations, trust, and love which all leads to an entertaining, and captivating page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is the story of Ruby and Tyler, also students in Valley High as precious stories on this series, and I really liked the slow burn at the beginning and the bully aspects, however the characters development was lacking some depth what made me feel they were superficial, even when the backgrounds were really good.
I really like Ivy, I think she is a really talented author and that's why her stories get me hooked right away, but in this one the backgrounds and story line could have being stronger, and some important topics as sexual assault and racism kind of felt forced into the story.
This author is relatively new to me. Tylor and Ruby was a story that brings a lot of issue at hand while these two have a hate / bully / need attraction. It’s an nice read.

This is amazing read that i read in one setting that had me on the edge of my seat. This is a very dark and bully book that has you seeing the darkness of the light to get through the days.

Where’s the transition that makes sense when he started to develop feelings for her? Out of nowhere he started declaring his feelings. And some dialogues are just so poorly written. And the main riff between them wasn’t even about them.
I’ve come to the end of this amazing series and I want to say I wish there were more. This book was about Ruby and Tyler. This is the next year’s class after the orignal students graduated. Ruby and Tyler have a very rocky start but after they move past that, they are as fiery as her hair.
Another entitled spoilt people story. They change for the better.Fantastic friendships and support goes a long way. Love it when spoilt rich girls get their comupance
I found this a good read with a strong heroine which always makes a book better ! She gives as good as she gets and is fierce when someone comes at her ! There was some serious issues happening in this book which were dealt with delicately and with no nonsense that impressed me . I like the dynamic between the two main characters and how they're very relatable ! I would recommend you click and start reading !

This was an entertaining bully romance of Ruby and Tyler. They can't seem to stay away from each other, though I guess there really is a fine line between love and hate. I wish the characters were a bit more developed but thought it was fun to read.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
