When I get a business call right before boarding the small plane flying to Virgin Falls, of course I have to take it. After not seeing my grandmother for years because of corporate life, I pack my things and fly to her, but business is still business. The pilot thinks I’m a silly urbanite. But it’s not as if he doesn’t care about his work. I’m not so thrilled about Alaskan wilderness...especially not when a terrifying storm force us to do an emergency landing. And then we have to stay in a remote cabin for the night. I’m not prepared for feeling so attracted to him. Alaska no longer feels so bad, not with him in it. I came to Alaska for a few weeks and didn’t expect to find love here, but will this veteran and a mountain man ever see me as more than a silly urbanite?
Kenneth
When the storm hits us, I do everything in my power to keep my passenger safe. I know her grandmother, and I’d rather die than have to tell her I failed to protect her. At first, I think of her as a silly – and gorgeous – urbanite. But when I see how terrified she is of the Alaskan weather, I do whatever it takes to bring her to safety. I try not to act on my attraction, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult. I soon realize that she is the one I want to be with. She is the one I want to love and cherish and build a life with. But can I do it without betraying the first and only woman I’ve ever loved?
We made a vow. As military men, our word is our bond, so now that we’ve retired, we’re back at Virgin Falls to support our fallen brother’s wife. The Alaskan town was our place to unwind. A beautiful place with people who are friendly if somewhat reserved. We want to start new lives here and grow our families together. But can we find love in these remote mountains?
Misty’s life seems to be all about work and business. The busy ad executive is flying in to visit her Grandmother Aurora since she hasn’t seen her in a long time with the heavy work schedule she maintains. Kenneth is her pilot and is irritated that she not only won’t silence her cell phone, but she also is taking business calls when she should be relaxing! But he knows her grandmother and vows to keep Misty safe.
As is typical, a winter storm was heading toward them and Kenneth landed in the wilderness while it passed. They stayed in a friend’s cabin together as they got to know each other. When the only place to sleep is a sofa bed, the floor far too cold to sleep on, Misty reluctantly agrees to share. In the morning, she is half draped across him, her head on his chest, and she accuses him of inappropriate behavior – which he points out is hers alone since he was still on his side of the bed. She remained grouchy until they continued their flight and the scenery caught her attention.
Misty’s grandma insists she goes out to a bar Kenneth always raved about. When she arrived, he was sitting at a table with friends and she joined them. Their fun banter started up again, and his Army buddies knew he was attracted to her despite his denial. He insists on driving her home since she had a couple drinks. But when they arrived, she turned to him and kissed him passionately! When she confirmed she wanted him, he drove her to his own cabin. But can he love anyone else after Ava died? Can he overcome the guilt he feels being happy with another woman? He could never live in the city. Would she be happy to live in Alaska? Or is a HEA just not possible for the two of them?
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Veterans In Alaska series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Misty is on her way to see her grandmother, seems to work all the time, while boarding a small plane she takes a business call, and the pilot is none too happy about it. Kenneth sexy as all get out pilot, moved to Virgin Falls with his buddy and flying a city girl who can’t put the phone on silent is working his nerves. Although Kenneth isn’t going to say anything or allow anything to happen to her because he knows her grandmother and he knows she will have his butt. But when a winter storm headed their way forcing them to land in the Alaskan wilderness and stay in a remote cabin allowing them to get to know each other better. The chemistry is instant and intense, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored so what happens when the storm lifts will they continue to get to know each other, will they allow what started during a storm continue, and can they find happiness?
'Kenneth by Emily Evans is the second book in her Veterans in Alaska series and tells the story of Kenneth, former Army and a pilot, and Misty, an ad executive from Boston. Kenneth and Misty meet when he flies her from Anchorage to Virgin Falls where her Grandmother lives. On the way there is some bad weather and they have to land in in a deserted area but luckily his friend had a cabin there so they spent the night but nothing happened. Though they were both attracted to each other they lived on opposite sides of the country so what could come of it. Plus Misty was a city girl even though her family came from the town. Kenneth had promised, with his platoon, to live in Virgin Falls and support their fallen comrade's widow.
Ms. Evans has written a lovely addition to her series. Although this book is short it is well written with great characters, compelling dialogue, and an interesting plot. The chemistry between Misty and Kenneth is steamy and their interactions are sweet. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a quick but satisfying read with their glass of wine.

First things first; I like the cover of this book! Kenneth is the second book in the ‘’veterans in Alaska’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Misty is on her way to visit her grandmother. When she meets her pilot, she is instantly attracted. Kenneth wants Misty but will she give him a chance? The chemistry between Kenneth and Misty is clear to see and I liked them together. I have to admit, for the first part of this book, I wasn’t a fan of Misty. Her whining irritated me. I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I look forward to more books from this series.
Misty is being flown to Virgin Falls in Alaska to visit her grandmother whom she has not seen in a while. She is not the best passenger that Kenneth has had the pleasure of flying. The upcoming storm has them doing an emergency landing and they end up staying in a friends one room cabin. Misty gets an ear full from her grandmother because she does not like people just popping in, also, she feels that she can take care of herself without family putting into her affairs. Kenneth knows her grandmother and has been helping her around her home for a while. This is a great story about 2 people finding each other.
I read an early review copy of this book for an honest review.

A lovely instalove story about frenemies at first sight Kenneth a Pilot and Misty his passenger who is a marketing manager on her way to see her grandmother in Virgin Falls.
The sparks fly when they start antagonizing each other until a storm hits the sky and they have to land and find shelter in a cabin.
The sexual tension is rife between them but both push it aside untill Misty sees Kenneth in a bar one night and he takes her home........
Has Kenneth found a second chance at love? Will sassy curvy Misty- a city girl settle in Virgin Falls with Kenneth?
A nice steamy quick read that leaves a sweet delectable aftertaste!
Now we wait to see what is in store for Zachary.....
Kenneth flies Misty to Virgin Falls, but they need to make a detour during a storm first. Her grandmother has lived in Virgin Falls all her life while her daughter and he husband moved to Boston and had Misty. Misty and Kenneth get set up by matchmaker grandmother, but she does not have to push much at all. The characters from the series all make appearances and I love how close they all are. Misty seems to blend right in and the relationship looks easy and natural. The storyline was well written and the locale highly detailed so you feel like you are right there, too. Great ending.

I have read many of Emily Evans’ books before and thoroughly enjoy them. They are short stories that are quick to read. This book is second in the Veterans in Alaska series. Kenneth and Misty meet when he flies her to Virgin Falls. Kenneth and his buddies had moved to Virgin Falls to take care of a fall friends’ widow. Kenneth & Misty begin to have feelings for each other, but will Misty relocate to Alaska as that is where Kenneth lives. Will they be able to make a relationship work? I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy short, sweet instalove stories.

A short story with all the ingredients that belong to a romance. Fast and easy to read. Strange that it only becomes clear at the end of the book that Kenneth has had a previous relationship and was not noticed when the romance between him and Misty starts. It doesn't show emancipation that Misty changes everything to build a future with Kenneth. Would be nice if there was more talk about that in the story. Misty would be an independent woman who has a career but easily leaves it for Kenneth. What you don't give for love!
I rate this book with 3.5*

Misty is on a plane heading to Virgin Falls, Alaska to see her grandmother. After the loss of his fiance Kenneth the pilot never imagined having feelings for another woman but when he flys Misty to see her grandmother sparks are flying. An emergency landing, a storm, a remote cabin, and things take a steamy turn. This is a steamy, sweet, love story with likable characters and a sweet ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I enjoyed reading the love story between Misty and Kenneth. It was kind of funny how they meet, they weren't impressed of each other. Then after having to make and emergency landing because of a snowstorm, they had a chance to talk. The descriptions of the town, the people and d scenery is great. I love her grandmother. Read what life has in store for them. It's a good book, great series. Written by Cindy :)
First off it needs an edit. Secondly the intimate scenes have absolutely no chemistry and often feel flat and awkward. Thirdly I absolutely cannot stand the main female character She is a snob and rude. There's very little background on the characters and it seems as if it's someone telling a story all in one breath. Very stilted and rushed. It has a lot of potential but it needs some work.
This story is one that is just not making it. It is suffering very much from how short it is. There is a lot of context missing and the flow is stiff and not smooth in any way. Unfortunately three stars is the absolute max that I can give this story.

The author has given us a fast paced, quick read that pulls us into the lives of Kenneth and Misty and does not let go. He will never leave Virgin Falls and she is a city girl, does a relationship between them even have a chance?

Kenneth lost his fiance in a raid, and he never expected to find love again. Then he picked Misty up in Anchorage to fly her to Virgin Falls for a visit with her grandmother. She was feisty and independent just what Kenneth liked in a woman. A super fun story to read.
