Zeke Lightfoot is the new Jensen City fire chief and a damn good one. He may be young for a fire chief, but he’s a good leader and is always in charge. The only exception is that he likes to be dominated by beautiful women in his off time.
One night, he goes to a secret club known only to the city elite by invitation only. While there, he’s humiliated and punished in the best possible way. The woman he meets there, his new dom, is gorgeous and mysterious. Who is the woman behind the mask she uses to keep her identity a secret?
Remi Young has a boring day job but an exciting and secret night gig. She’s also having a rough time since falling into a puddle while helping her friends. With her new ability to control water haunting most of her thoughts, Remi welcomes the distraction of a new sub at her night job. He’s gorgeous and everything she wants in a partner outside of work. Unfortunately, he’s off-limits per the club rules.
When Remi walks into her friends’ engagement party and sees her new sub sitting with her best friend’s fiancé, sparks fly. Should she tell her secrets to Zeke? Would it be more of a shock to her new sub if she tells him that she can move water at her whim or that she’s the secret sub that’s infiltrated his dreams?
Okay, I loved the first book in Jensen City Heroes, but this one was even better!
Thirst focuses on Remi, who's just discovered that she can control water, and Zeke, the city fire chief. Their relationship was SERIOUSLY steamy, and I loved the kink so so much. It was really well done.
The superhero aspect of the book was once again done incredibly well. It was a natural progression, and the reasoning behind the powers makes sense within the world. It was the same natural progression with Zeke and Remi's relationship.
All in all, I HIGHLY enjoyed this read. Tori Ross is very talented, and I can't wait to read the next book!
Thirst is book #2 in the Jensen City Heroes series. This book is just as amazing as the 1st with some super hot scenes between the two MC's. This is a standalone story so reading Arson (Book #1) is not necessary as you will be caught up early on in Thirst. I do suggest reading book #1 as a couple of subplots in Thirst will be understood more. What I loved about Thirst is not only is it written incredibly well but it doesn't weigh you down with unnecessary information. The plot was interesting and I sped through this, reading in one day. I couldn't put this book down I loved it. I adored Remi as a character but all of the characters are very likeable.
There were some parts of the story that felt slow (probably because I was excited for Remi and Zeke to get it on!) to me and the sex scenes were a little less detailed (there were some really hot and heavy scenes with Arson and The Caretaker) than her previous books but overall it was a great read for fun time with my spouse. I highly recommend reading spicy books with your house spouse for new ideas and added fun! I can't wait to learn more about Rose in Tori's next book.
TL/DR - Short Version Good characters, nice powers (lightly done), erotica, and, unfortunately, lack of use of safe words during BDSM scenes at the end of the book. One star for safety issues.
Bullet Point Edition 1. Characters are unique, each with different goals, history, and interactions. While the series concentrates on the friendship group, not everyone in the group is friends with each other. 2. The romance/erotica is the main point of the series. If grading the "superpower" part like I would rate normally for romance, the powers would be "low-spice". They are there, but not the concentration of the story. 3. Though a low-power story, the powers are done really well. The teamwork and problem solving to have the low-power/street-level supers solve larger issues makes this book a really good supers book. 4. Remi (the female lead) has some amazing character definition in her sexuality ... for the first two-thirds of the book. 5. During the final third of the book two things happen to destroy the foundations this story was written on. The first was a scene for the punishment kink which destroyed the premise of everything that defined Remi until then. Second was the BDSM in the final third lacked the safe words found in the first part of the book. I will go into detail below why this is bad. But basically, if a book presents unsafe ideas/practices I give it a one-star. It is fixable (see below in the spoiler section).
So great book at creating everything, and it even delivers a good satisfying finish. But a misstep leaves a gaping character-plot-hole, ruining the story for me.
Thirst is the second book in the Jensen City Heroes, a steamy superhero romance series. This book focuses on Remi, a young woman with two really big secrets: she can control water, and she’s a dominatrix. Enter Zeke, a hot, hot, hot fire chief who has never been able to find a woman who was as turned on by dominating him as he was by being dominated. He gets a special treat one night in the form of an invite to an exclusive sex club where he meets the mysterious dominatrix that makes his kink dreams come true. The problem? They meet in real life and are insanely attracted to one another. She knows he’s a client and is therefore very off limits. But Zeke just knows that the woman that makes his heart race is confusing him with her whiplash alternating between hot for him and ice cold. There’s a lot of will they-won’t they tension as Remi tries to sort through all of her conflicting emotions.
The Superhero part: I thought the origin of the powers was very interesting. The way that the hero from the previous book used his as a firefighter was great, and when Remi finally used her powers towards the last half of the book, I thought she did so in a very creative way that I hadn’t expected. But I will say that I wished the superhero elements were woven in more throughout the book, they only came in halfway through, and while they added a lot, it was a little jarring to have them there in full force when they had only been a mention in the background before. There didn’t seem to be any kind of backlash against supers, and it seemed that people knew about their origins, something that was kind of refreshing to be honest. I believe that reading book one would likely shed more light on this part of the book, something I did not do because I really wanted to dive into this one.
The steamy romance: the love scenes were HOT. Seriously, this book lives up to its name, especially at the beginning in the sex club. The dom scenes were my favorites to be honest. I was disappointed when that part of her identity ended rather abruptly, I was very much wanting to see Remi keep it and see how it would work with her relationship with Zeke and being a superhero. But while it was there, it was very, very good.
The book resolves the core conflict between these two while also delivering a cliffhanger that introduces us to the next book in the series.
If you like a dash of superheroes with some kink, then you’ll like this book.
Remi, the female lead, has been imbued with the power to control water by accident. She’s also got a night side hustle that is not public knowledge and several historical issues that combine to mean that she doesn’t want a relationship. Zeke, the male lead, is the fire chief, has some non-mainstream sexual kinks, and wishes, and is enamoured with Remi from the moment he meets her. In a city struggling with drought and water scarcity, they are in the same friendship circles and are trying to balance competing priorities. Can a relationship even be viable?
This story is dual POV, well written, and fast paced and interesting. It does stand alone but I feel it would have been enhanced if I’d read the first one in the series. I really enjoyed the primary and secondary character interactions and felt invested in the many relationships as they developed.

Remi has a lot going on right now and had no time foam relationship but for some reason Zeke keeps showing up places she is is and is starting to get under her skin. The last place she expects him to show up is at her secret second job so it’s also a shock to realise that she can never tell him her secrets. Oh yeah and she somehow is able to control water, weird right!
I was screaming at the pages for Remi and Zeke to figure things out in this page turner. I loved this one a lot. It has a lot of great characters and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series to find out what happens to Jensen City.
This is the 2nd book in the series and I recommend reading them in order as the characters crossover but can be read as a standalone as well.
I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.
Thirst by Tori Ross is a fantasy contemporary romance novel. This novel is part of the Jensen City Heroes series. This book was original and I was all here for that. Usually books with d/s trope goes for the more alpha male but not an alpha female. I really liked that this book did the opposite. It is refreshing to read that. The plot and character development were also done well.
Remi and Zeke meet in an interesting club where they both like to blow off some steam and share a mutual interest. At this club basically they do not know who the other person is. Zeke is the fire chief and Remi actually just learned she can control water (cool right). They meet again at a friends wedding and start up a relationship.
This book is original and just plain fun to read. I really enjoyed it!
ooooooh...I was dragged right on in. However, the FMC is irritating me - mostly because she is irritating herself.
There is a lot of angst and secret-keeping. I would make a couple of comments but I do not like to be a spoiler.
The book plots are layered - multiple things going on. It is interesting and not a guarantee that you will know which direction it will take.
I am curious as to other characters' stories. Glad that Remi and Zeke found each other and not just because of the steam.
The epilogue leaves us in a cliffhanger. There is a book before this ARSON (I haven't read it yet but I think some of it was partially recapped in the prologue), and 2 books DARKNESS and AMP after.

I really enjoyed this book. The main characters were both great and the plot had unique elements to it. I never felt like I was reading a story I have read before. Zeke and Remi are a wonderful couple and there was such great chemistry between them. I'm not crazy about the semi-cliffhanger at the end that leads to the next book but at least I wasn't left hanging in regards to this story. I haven't read the first in the series yet but suspect it would be even better if I did and plan to do that soon. I will probably read the next one, too.

Remi works as a dominatrix in a selective club at night. And she has a big secret that only two people know. She can bend water. In a city where they have strict restrictions on water due to the terrible drought they are suffering, can be very handy. Zeke is the new fire chief, and he has a big secret: he likes to be dominated in the bedroom. This is a book I enjoyed a lot. It was fun and full of tension, suspense, mystery, and a lot of secrets. The paranormal part of the story was very well explained, and believable. A very interesting story that I recommend. This book features Zeke and Remi's steamy story. Zeke is the city fire chief who has a secret kink Remi has just discovered her ability to control water and she also dabbles in her own kink. When they meet at a secret club they share an incredible connection. The PNR superhero element of this book was handled naturally so that there was a natural flow to the story just like in the previous book. I would definitely recommend this book and I'm looking forward to the next book!

This is a continuation of the story that started with the book Arson, could you read at as standalone, yes, but is better if you start with the first book. I like Zeke and Remi better than the other pair.
This books is so hot in places it should go up in flames. It kept me up in the middle of the night reading. I want to say this is a HFN as there is more to the story. This is not the end of the story, stay tuned, cannot wait to see where it goes.

this was a spicy book a s-club, tons of secrets, romance, friendships, action/adventure and also a twist of kinda superhero theme this book was good watching the characters learn about everything and grow was fun and the spicy want of romance but kinda holding back (and the author did a great job letting us know what the characters were thinking was was great and funny at moments) so much going on in this book Dom/sub- was present in this book, just a heads up if this bothers u I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is book 2 in Ross' Jensen City Heroes series and can be read as a standalone - as I have not yet read book 1 - but in all honesty wish I had! Ross delivers some amazing characters, and the storyline captivated me from the very beginning. Zeke and Remi are our main characters, and I loved their angst and chemistry. Great action and twists that keep you glued to your reader. A great read and I can't wait for more...

This is the second book in this series, and this is Zeke and Remi’s story. Zeke is the new fire chief, and when he goes to a secret club, he is instantly drawn to a mysterious and masked woman. Remi has a boring job by day, and a secret job at night as the new dominatrix at a BDSM club, and she is attracted to her new sub, but club rules forbid relationships. This is a well written story which has tension, secrets, emotions, and is a steamy BDSM romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked this story about Zeke the hot fire chief who enjoys a secret kink and Remi who has the ability to control water and enjoys her own kink. From the first moment these two met at a club, they shared an incredible connection. This story is hot and has interesting characters and some great chemistry, I would recommend it and am looking forward to the next book!

Remi and Zeke's story is the second book in the series and unique read that pulls you in with the characters' vulnerability, heart and passion. I love the danger and mystery that takes you on a whirlwind ride that keep you in your seat turning the pages.
Remi and Zeke's connection is electric, as is the push and pull they have as they try to keep their secrets.

This story picks up where ‘Arson’ left off - this time, it’s Zeke and Remi’s to fight for each other and for Jensen City. I loved the angst, the chemistry, the heat - basically everything about Remi and Zeke’s relationship! This book kept me turning the pages, and I can’t wait for the next in the series.
Remi and Zeke have a steamy story. This is the second book of the Jensen City Hero, which can be read as a standalone, but it does pick up where the previous book, Arson, left off. I enjoyed the action, adventure, twists, secrets and angst. There is no denying the chemistry and passion between Remi and Zeke. I throughly enjoyed their story.
I’ve always enjoyed good super hero stories and this one doesn’t disappoint! We meet different family members who each have their own story as they come into their powers. This was an exciting story filled with action, grit, and romance.

Definitely an intriguing read with many interesting characters and vices that has many spicy moments. Really liked the superhero aspect of this storyline as it was well thought through and liked the direction everything followed. Looking forward to the next in this series.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Remi and Zeke. The story keeps us turning the pages with secrets, superpowers, BDSM and lots of steam.

I am clearly in the minority on this. I feel like I did not read the same book as everyone else. I did not connect with any of the characters, the story did not suck me in, and the characters did not have hot chemistry. Maybe it was due to the insta-love/lust? (Kind of a turn off for me, personally) I am not sure. Whatever it was, I just didn't feel it.
