Eve Webber doesn’t believe her boyfriend died in the car accident. Lance held her as they watched the car burn. He talked to her. Yet everyone tells her he died on impact.
Eve also didn’t see Samael, the angel of death. She only saw bright angels, the ones who help people. Which means no one died in the accident. Samael visits her whenever someone close to her dies or when she witnesses a death.
When Arthur Tinsley’s daughter ends up in a coma, he moves into Lydia’s house to look after her sixteen-year-old daughter. Eve is in denial about Lance’s death and claims he still visits her.
Arthur protects Eve from her father who is affiliated with a drug cartel. Plus, Arthur doesn’t trust Eve’s best friend Becca, a self-proclaimed witch. Arthur suspects Becca of putting a spell on Eve that gives her nightmares.

There are stories that haunt you gently, not with fear, but with that lingering ache of beauty and sorrow intertwined and Silent Wings is one of them. Deborah Tadema has written something that feels both ethereal and painfully human, a novel that blurs the boundary between life, death, and the fragile spaces in between.

Eve Webber’s grief feels raw and real, her desperate refusal to accept Lance’s death isn’t just denial; it’s a deep yearning for meaning in the inexplicable. The way Tadema handles Eve’s visions of angels bright, tender presences that contrast with the ominous shadow of Samael is masterful. It invites readers to question not only what we see, but what we believe when the world falls apart.

The relationships are equally layered: Arthur’s protective instincts, Becca’s mysterious spirituality, and the quiet tension between faith and fear all give the novel its emotional gravity. There’s an undercurrent of redemption here, a whisper that healing isn’t the absence of pain but the courage to live through it.

Tadema’s prose is graceful yet piercing, the kind that lingers after you’ve closed the book. Silent Wings doesn’t just tell a story, it opens a door to reflection about death, love, and the invisible threads that bind us to one another, even beyond loss. It’s a deeply moving experience that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

This story gripped me from the start. Eve’s struggle to accept Lance’s death felt heartbreakingly real, especially that haunting scene by the burning car. The mix of grief, love, and the supernatural was beautifully done. I loved how Samael and the “bright angels” added mystery and emotion without overcomplicating things. Arthur’s protective side and Becca’s strange energy kept me guessing to the end. It’s a powerful, emotional read about loss, faith, and holding on when everyone says to let go.

This book completely pulled me in from the first page. Eve’s confusion over Lance’s death had me questioning everything right along with her. The mix of supernatural elements and real-life grief was done so beautifully. I loved how the author made me feel the tension between reality and what Eve believes she’s seeing. By the time Arthur moved in to help, I was totally invested. It’s eerie, emotional, and full of twists I didn’t see coming.
