After a lifetime of dealing with losers and leavers, Lita’s jaded edge keeps most men at bay.
Except for Ross— her best friend since high school, and the guy who works by her side every day at Holliday Hot Rods. Tight as they are, Ross is way too allergic to commitment for Lita to ever consider him relationship material. Little does she know, there’s only one woman he’s ever been serious about...her.
Then a brush with Christmas magic turns up the heat …
When Ross and Lita help out a strange old lady who’s turned up at their favorite bakery, their regular Monday morning breakfast run takes a magical turn. Now Lita’s convinced the Christmas cookies that witchy woman “thanked” them with were hexed—like Snow White’s apple in reverse. Because men are following her around now, begging for dates, and Ross is magically blurting out his emotional truths every time he opens his mouth. And the heat they’re cooking up together? That’s way too sweet to resist. But when the spell is over, can Ross convince Lita he’s the one who’s loved her all this time?
Write what you know. Isn’t that what they always say?
Though I currently live in the flat, flat lands of Indiana, I’ve spent most of my life in West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. As I have found out, you can take the girl out of Appalachia, but you can’t take the Appalachia out of the girl.
So now, I write hot, heartfelt contemporary romances with a magic mountain twist.
When I’m not haunting the house at all hours writing, I have another life as a PR/marketing writer, wife to my long-time husband, and a mother to my two sons, who are rapidly fleeing the nest. Come sit with me for a spell. I've got some stories to tell you...
I really enjoyed this short series. I like how each book stayed connected to the characters. I wish there was more in the series! Maybe a story about Litas dad. I was looking for a Christmas story that had some Christmas magic in it and this trilogy was the perfect fit!
Lita and Ross have been best friends since high school but have avoided more. Lita thinks Ross is a player but doesn't know she's the one he really wants. Then they have an encounter at their favorite bakery with a woman who gave them cookies that turned out to be magical. Now, Lita has all the single men in town pestering her for dates and Ross can't hide his emotions behind humor. Will they be together when the magic ends?
I received an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and this is my honest, unbiased review. I've really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. There's nothing like a little magic with your romance. While the magic in this book was not as involved as in the previous books (which I missed), it was still a fun and fabulous read. I was drawn into the story from the start and kept hooked. The book was well-written with a wonderful cast of characters with whom you're sure to fall in love. I sincerely hope that there's more to come from this series. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
What a great bestfriends to lovers story! Ross and Lita were great together. A Christmas story with a magical twist. If i had been Lita i would have gone nuts having all the men crazily fawning over me. There were makovers, magic cookies, horse shit, family love and small town living. Ross was an A-class male protagonist. Fear can be such a powerful thing but these two characters faught it through and got their longtime coming HEA.
This is the third book of the series I have read. They all knock it out of the park and are really great! But I do wish if you are going to take time to write such great stories, you take the time to have them proofread! I can't even count how many times words are obviously missing or sentences have extra words. I highly recommend the magical stories of Hunter, Hopper and Ross, and hope the editing gets better and better with each new book written!
