Bought my copy of this hot new release. Already 45 pages into it! Trust me. It's very magical and I couldn't help myself come out of it. Hooked... The practical examples and the stories the author provided are very inspiring. Exercises are short and doable. A recommended book for all of us and the flexibility is you can randomly pick up any topic and work it out.
Special mention- to the cover design. It's brilliant and the blue color is tempting! Shiny, matte texture and "silver lining" of the name. A must have! Thank you for this wonderful book!

When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal, not your decision to get there....
This saying goes well with this book by Preeti Shenoy. The Magic Mjndset as the title reads is a self-help book which deals about one's way of thinking. Targeted for the younger readers and teens, the book helps one cope up with the day to day problems in a positive way.

A self-help book is most of the times preachy and teens are the last ones to prefer that genre. But this is an exception as it is made interesting with a lot of snippets included from the author's life and other successful people as well.

Given the present scenario where divorces and breakups are plenty the author suggests that quietitude by one partner can do wonders. Also the author emphasizes on the fact that Hope is what is needed when one is going through a rough phase and that one needs to believe in oneself.

The author skillfully explains complex issues in a simple yet interesting way by including activities at the end of each chapter along with the tips and suggestions on various topics viz. Combating exam fear, managing money, avoiding problems in a relationship etc. The 14 day challenge is something that can be implemented easily and needs to be taken up by each one of us.

I suggest that the book be read slowly so as to absorb its essence completely for a better experience and to implement the lessons learnt in future.

My Verdict
A truly magical guide for the wellness of the being.....

The book is a capsule of wisdom written exclusively from the personal experiences and experiments with life, than from theories as seen from usual self-help books. It is written in easy and spoken English and the suggestions are easily implementable. Except a few printer's devils here and there, it is a smooth read.

This book has been a nice read. I am someone who doesn't read non-fiction self-help books. Though it took me a somewhat a month to finish it, it wasn't monotonous in any way. And all of the things, especially the practices and things suggested were practical in modern day-to-day fast life.

The Magic Mindset is the perfect guide to help you achieve total wellness in our hardscrabble world.

Even though Preeti Shenoy, who wrote this book lives in India, she's so wonderfully Western in viewpoint as suggested by the wise quote she's chooses to begin her 9th chapter:

"When something bad happens, you have three choices -- let it define you, destroy you or strengthen you.

-- Zombieland

There are other exceptionally appropriate quotes always very germane to the conversation.

Preeti Shenoy introduces Magic Mindset with her own experience over the last two years of a really "bad" thing; the pandemic. And even now the recent occurrence of a continuing military catastrophe that ominously could culminate in World War III, makes it even more necessary to structure the conduct of one's individual life towards survival and meaningful living in an increasingly crazy and difficult world.

Though Shenoy is a successful author with excellent social media presence in India, mostly Western (and Indian) worries thread their way through her concerns and practical remedies tailored to an individual and diverse world readership.

She seamlessly reveals South Asian and Western life challenges as not being so very different from one another and her very practical remedies have universal application.

You may wonder how practical solutions of the mind can possibly bring a seemingly somewhat more pathologically tilted world back to sanity. Perhaps Shenoy's writing is a form of conceptual probiotics where the good bacteria outpopulates or outcreates the bad. Enough survival behavior of a multitude of good minds, can help cast aside the shrewd manipulative aberrant unwise behavior of some.

This book is golden. It steathfully and skillfully outlines how anyone can actively restructure how they feel, how they think and how they act to transcend any problems and live a meaningful life despite the sometimes crazy situations that can and do arise in life.

This reads like a kind of practical spiritual guide for a good minded person or just anyone who might feel they need to sort some things out to have a better go at making their life happy. One does not know quite what to make of the mind fully assembled out of the box at birth ready for its ascent into full operational capacity after a person's first breath (or even way before that as some people believe).

Shenoy seems like the mythical yet real incredibly intelligent South Asian auntie guru who carefully looks over her family, then looks over everyone in India, then looks over everyone in the world. Which illustrates how we, in the Western world, can be gifted with practical written wisdom from India so much moreso than any average ordinary American might ever imagine possible.

This might seem an extravagant observation except that there is precursor hint of this journey earlier in her life: "It turned out working at the school was the best experience I ever had. . . there would be an army of small children that poured in yelling in delight, 'Preeti aunty, Preeti aunty!' I had to hug each one of them before I entered the classroom."

And what is the world, if not a huge, natural classroom environment for all the diverse, different forms of life including all humans.

My favorite is the interesting concept of what one can do if only able to see it clearly in one's mind [individually in what anyone sees in their mind].

She's does this continually concerning many aspects of life; money, relationships, situations beyond our control, good health, nutrition, dealing with other peoples actions and even in how to say no.

Readers write down what they have experienced concerning Shenoy's questions that allow them to look at their situations and the difficulties they have encountered or encounter daily from personal subjective viewpoint with all the anger, fear, sadness and humilation released. Then go back and look again from an unbiased somewhat detached perspective and take or not take the best practical actions.

Personally I have figured out practical action to take concerning obstacles I'm having to face and irritating things that keep me from being at my best. Plus much bigger stuff that could cause one to feel stumped, stopped or slowly or rapidly slipping towards oblivion.

So getting this book and implementing the advice as it individually or specifically relates, gifts us with what might be one of the best things one could do for ourselves.

In Magic Mindset, a very wise auntie named Preeti is perhaps just a slightly remote perfect family relative you never thought you might ever have, who happens to live, write and coach from India.

The trials and tribulations shared in the book will boost readers' confidence in finding peace in life.

The book " The Magic Mindset" by Preeti Shenoy insists to focus on and govern our approach, perspective and the mindset. If the three aspects are perfect, then it will work wonders in the life.

The book is divided into 4 parts , each part has a minimum of three chapters in it. Each chapter has a wonderful quote and exercises, where ever necessary.

The author finely worked to bring out the best possible examples through TV shows, her fan mails, messages and from her personal life. She carefully crafted a measure to make our lives best by our own self.

In page 26 of this book, author puts forth the benefits of being an optimistic which is the result of the MAYO CLINIC AND VERYWELL MIND, "THE STILLNESS PROJECT."

Through out the book, readers can find simple yet stunning and interesting aspects of life. She urges to work on improvisations in every step. I quote "No matter our current fitness level, no matter what we earn right now and no matter how our relationships are at the moment, we can always bring more positivity into these three aspects of our lives and improve them further,"

Talking about money, the author truly explains the importance and the role of money in our lives, its impact and the three things to remember regarding money. A very useful and powerful pointers to realise when we worry much about money.

The chapter 8 - "Magic Mindset and awareness" is a real eye opener and many are surely going to benefit out of it. She with keen observation and experience recognised this issue and aptly included it in this book .

The whole book is wisely presented covering all the essential features which demands a magic mindset. Though the situations discussed in this book are similar to those faced by many, but the path to take, the way to face, handle and move is certainly a novel approach which is highly helpful and reassuring the bright life ahead.

Remember the words of Shakespeare : "For 'tis the mind that makes the body rich."

Yes! This book has an impact on my 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗦𝗘𝗧 which is 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗖. It compelled me to read it once again from the beginning. I won't say this is a book for self-help or heavy terms like that rather I would say it's that kind of a book you can always get back to.

Full of Thoughts, Enjoyable chapters and Tips and there's a lot more to it. I would be honest with you, this is the very first Non-Fiction book I enjoyed and felt while reading. This book doesn't scream at you to get up and change yourself after reading the very fact you are about to adapt rather 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐒𝐄𝐓 asks you to trust yourself, Fail but Don't give up. It's also true that always there won't be situations of fail and give up, there would be at times when you would not even want to get up from bed and yes that's completely fine.

𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊 𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒚, the author has my heart. She depicted the most complicated way in such a heartwarming manner that I felt many people would simply enjoy reading this book and would be 100% sure to apply as well. There are summed up tips or learnings at the end of each chapter to help you work in applying. Each time you fill a Lil low, don't worry you got the back of this book for some support or solutions or help, it's made easier that you don't have to read the whole book all over again.

It's that easy right? No, It's not! Reading it for the sake of reading or like one sitting read like any other fiction book will be problematic. Read, Think, gather yourself, Try to apply, fail and rise again. Yes, that's it.

I hope you find this book worthy as me as I found it. There's a lot more I would love to talk about in this book but it's pretty difficult now!

Bye and have a fantastic day.

The Magic Mindset by Preeti Shenoy

Preeti Shenoy is one of my all time favourite authors and when it comes to my favourites, I'm a little biased 😁. I absolutely love everything about Preeti Shenoy, to be very true. Her daily videos, her motivating thoughts, her books, her handwriting, her potrait drawings, just everything !!

When I came to know about The Magic Mindset, I resisted for a few days first. For me, "To buy or not to buy" has always been the question, but just before one day prior to pre booking closure, I booked my copy since I wanted to have the author signed copy.

Thanks to Amazon, book came perfectly packed and well in time, but I completed it just last week. If you consider this book as the self help book, then I can say this is one of the simplest and the best self help book I have come across.

The book is divided into four major parts. One of the best things that is reiterated in the book is that being positive is not always possible and it's absolutely okay. Many a times, under the pretext of being positive, we get so stressed that we forget the core of positivity. This is where the Magic Mindset helps. The best thing about the book is you can go through the index and directly jump to the part that you want to read first.

There are exercises at the end of each chapter which are to be completed, also there is a 14 day challenge at the end of the book which are simple things that bring joy to the mind.

The book covers almost all aspects of life and is suitable for all age groups. One of the best reads, given the gloomy times around !!

Many thanks to blogchatter and HarpercollinsIN for review copy.

The Magic Mindset is self-help book about healthy and positive mindset and attitude towards different situations of life that help in dealing with problems we face not by looking at bright side but by accepting feelings, having positive attitude and hope, and how to change our outlook to keep hope.

The best part of the book is the activities in each chapter. There is also 14 days challenge at the end of the book with activities to do daily and table to write our feelings after finishing the exercises. Another good thing, this can be read out of order. You can pick any chapter at any time and never feel you missed anything in the previous chapters as each chapter deals with different topics like– relationships, social media, money, health, education, family, past unpleasant memories, out of control situations, saying no, and other people’s actions that affect us. You can pick the topic you’re not happy about in life and read it first or any time in life.

Why 4 stars-

I really liked the book and some aspects but some points aren’t new or I haven’t known before and so this served as reminder for me. I might have found this more helpful when I was young as this is like a guide.

Overall, The Magic Mindset is inspiring, motivating, relatable, and well-written self-help covering many topics and life situations with many tips and suggestions.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I read this book, because I admire it's author Preeti Shenoy a lot, for how she has a very healthy lifestyle, a great reading habit, a successful career and a supportive and loving family (that's what I have seen from her stories on social media and her blogs) and I wanted to know how one person can be positive and have all the qualities she has.
What I have understood is Preeti Shenoy is a firm believer of the law of attraction and the book 'Secret' as she takes a lot of references from it. (Yet to read secret, not a complete believer of the above ideal, but open minded). She does give a lot of fair and valid points related to having a positive mindset and the ways we can approach different adverse situations in life as well as a lot of do-able tips, which I believe are really effective if one practices it.

I read this book while on my journey of creating a healthy lifestyle and work ethic, so I believe this book did influence my mind in positive ways, also the journaling prompts helped me to dig deeper. The activities in the 14 day challenge are things that I already do in my life, except for a few which I would like to happily engage in.
I would like to thank the writer for the book.

This is my 4th read and the first non-fiction from the author. Last 3 reads were fictional love stories mostly yet I did like them for their simplicity and the deep meaning(quotes) each book proposes but this one is different and it's full of advices and examples.

I always rely so much on non-fiction and self-help and this book though it's very beginner-friendly offered a lot of insight to me. Books talks so much about positive thinking and how one can change day-to-day life by changing the way how one thinks of the situation and problem. Alot of real-time examples makes us connect with the problem and the corresponding solution author suggests. Also, the main attraction for me in the book was the notes on the focus points from each chapter. And I loved how well she articulated the list of tasks to follow each day at the end of the book, while most of the book does give this part but normally they will be either be too difficult to follow or not relevant most of the time, but here they are simple yet makes so much sense for anybody.

3.5 stars just for the same reason that for the advanced reader like me on this genre, this felt a bit basic.

The Magic Mindset discusses the ways to assist you in achieving your better self. Mrs Shenoy focuses on elucidating this Magic Mindset, assisting you in practising it, and sustaining it for life.

This book is for those who do not read nonfiction because of its formal dialect, but here, she has used an informal writing style to let you connect with those few stories shared in the book, including her own. Also, the dialect doesn’t make one feel bad about their current routine. The mood set is for upliftment and not resentment. The writing style is smooth, and the title is quite precise. She has shared a few exercises for the readers to help them know what they need to focus on.

If you are wondering about the self-help genre, you may start with this one. The book will be worth your time. Also, the book concludes with a 14-day activity challenge to help you start with the magic mindset, and I hope you will try that too.

The market is flooded with self-help books most which don't offer anything new. Preeti Shenoy's non-fiction book here is replete with wisdom, experiences from her own life and anecdotes from others'. In this book, author shares a practice called the Magic Mindset which she says has been her way of life since she was a teenager.

Things I loved about this book:

✨ The book doesn't come off as preachy unlike most motivational books

✨ It is full of beautiful anecdotes to support each practice.

✨ Each chapter summarizes the learnings at the end.

✨ The practices, principles and tips are simple yet powerful

✨The author talks of inculcating some great and healthy habits in our daily routine.

✨ There are exercises in each chapter which help bring out many answers that we are often seeking.

✨Bonus: the 14 day challenge at the end of the book

Yet another magical moment derived from this book. I have tried reading many self help books and non fiction is a deadly deal for me. However this book is a game changer in the non fiction genre.
Preeti Shenoy definitely brings out the best content, whether in a physical book or on the net. Hooked to the various stages that she has mentioned. Yes she has covered the basic needs of human behaviour and thats the need of the hour.
Please read the book if you're in a space that's not giving you that happiness.
It will surely surprise you. Read this book and savour the simple language and implement the techniques mentioned.
I will be trying most of them. Let's see which one will be suitable for me.

The Magic Mindset is a quick read with exercises all throughout so it feels like a two way process. I love how easy it is to read this one and is quite forward, meaning its written for the current generation. I really appreciate the focus being on how to allow yourself to just feel, the 14 day challenge (which i just started) and so much more. The book is full of facts and opinions which makes helps to understand everything well. For some like me the contents of the book may not be entirely new but there being so much to remember, this book is a quick revision. Its therapy in a gist but not a substitute for sure. I am going to keep going back to this book once in a while and you?

This book came at just the right time in my life. It has shown me a path which if taken can bring me that mental peace and well being that I have been looking for. Preeti Shenoy has done a wonderful job at helping the readers find the magical mindset. She has used real life examples to explain situations and then given simple solutions to overcome these challenges. She has also given space for the readers to write about their feelings when they were faced with certain situations. I think this is not a book that can be read just one time and then placed on the shelf. This is a book that needs to be revisited time and again.

This is my first non-fiction from one of my fav. authors. In this book, she has shared her experiences and re-told some famous stories to deliver her message. I liked that style as I'm not a fan of non-fiction books, but when great messages come with stories, I'm, always up to grab the opportunity.

I wasn't disappointed reading her work, as she isn't repeating the same stuff quoting in another way. She has picked some meaningful ones and delivered them to her readers.

Worth Reading

Preeti Shenoy writes naturally. I like 3-4 books written by her. If you are a lover of the book "The Secret" then I'm sure you would love this. The author concludes the book with a 14-day challenge. After each chapter also they are thought-provoking questions and exercises. The real-life examples add value and motivate us. It's worth one time reading, unlike The Secret.

The magic mindset is outcome during the COVID time providing a framework which the author classified into 3 phases similar to the PDCA cycle of improvement.
An okay type of read and most of the concepts that are captured in the book are applications of common sense and i find nothing unique.
