Every Monday five years old Sasha tells the story in her kindergarten. She is a good storyteller and has vivid imagination, but can she distinguish the difference between the reality and the fantasy.
Cute quick story about Sasha and her life stories. Sasha is five and full of stories to tell her class so every Monday she gets to share her stories about her life, her dogs, grandpa, and frankly anything she has to say. Sometimes her stories are left on a cliff hanger till the following week others are shorter and are finished in the allotted time she is given.
This is the second Sasha book that I have read and I enjoyed it as much as the first. Sasha's stories are fun, sweet and interesting. Hope there are more to come. This is a read that could encourage the young child hearing them to relate their own experiences. I won a copy of this book in a Goodreads giveaway for this honest review.
I enjoyed this story a lot. Sasha reminds me of my grandchild, very intelligent and full of great stories to share. I read this story to my grandchildren and they enjoyed Sasha's stories too
What a cute entertaining story perfect to give or read to your children or grandchildren. Such an imagination and way to share a child's perspective of what she learns from those adults and experiences around her.
I'm fascinated to learn that there are several of these books. The framing device is quickly dropped, and most of the book consists of the most eloquent five year old in the world telling stories about her life, until it ends just as suddenly as it begins.
Loved the story. Sasha seems like a great 5 year old. I would have loved to hear more of Sasha's stories. I'm sure that her classmates in school enjoy them too.
This is one of those times where it is really difficult for me to rate and review an indie author. I can see how this could be considered a tribute to the author's grandaughter. However, I just didn't feel as if it was a finished piece of work.
We follow this girl who is telling stories to her class every monday morning. That's it. The summar stated, "She is a good storyteller and has vivid imagination, but can she distinguish the difference between the reality and the fantasy." This led me to believe there would be some magical realism or mental illness, or the girl using fantasy stories to repress serious issues she is going through. Which I thought would be happening after the teacher looked at the kid odd when she started her first story. That isn't the case at all. It just felt like a normal kid telling perhaps overly exaggerated stories. With only one real "fantasy" story that felt out of place from the others. Even the ending of this novella felt lacking. It just finished with "the end" abruptly after her explaining why she wasn't in school for a bit.
I am also not sure why there hasn't been any mention of several errors found in the novella. I hope the author takes time to have it rechecked and fixed. A few include: -"lying on the ground, enable to get up" -"for a small, exhausted small chipmunk" -"worked in eh tiki bar"
I think I should say I did enjoy the stories. It very much felt like I was listening to a kid overly explaining random personal events. I especially enjoyed the story of Todo the chipmunk. Princess of the tomato garden is such a cute phrase it makes me smile. I wanted to read more in this story. More adventures for Todo!
I think the stories are cute, but I'm confused at to what I'm reading. Is it based on a real little girl and family, is it all made up? What happens at the end?
