This is a slower paced revenge tale. After being murdered by the family who adopted her, Elena goes back five years in time. Mourning the loss of her son she makes efforts to protect her birth family, raise funds, and seek revenge against Grand Duke Friedrich and his accomplices. She moves forward with the adoption. Once again she takes on the role of Victoria (the duke's poisoned but not dead daughter) and pretends to be a vain and clueless girl. However, she starts a company using only the initial 'L' and uses her future knowledge to buy valuable real estate and form important connections to key players of the upcoming Renaissance art movement. She struggles with Victoria's cousin Ren due to his unpredictable behavior and when she meets the current crown prince, her former husband. The protagonist takes a while to build up her forces, build buildings, sell goods, and spur a revolt. She also has an inconsistent tendency to treat some people based on how they behaved in the former time line while others she allows to be judged for only what they did this time.
