Omega Rescued

Rate this book
“Would you truly wish to return home, knowing that you could hurt someone? Someone you love?”

Callista always wanted to be special. The omega daughter of the ambitious and wealthy Hoskiss family, she’s never been expected to do anything other than marry well and breed the next generation of Alphas. When she learns of a terraforming expedition traveling to the new Oberon colony, she is willing to strike any bargain to get herself on that mission, away from her cold, calculating parents and a life that has never felt like her own.

But Calli’s choices are stolen from her anew when she wakes up from cryosleep on a spaceship—one that seems to be under attack, judging by the warnings and sirens.

Estrevaga D’Thani is a veteran member of Anti-Theta, the elite taskforce working to subvert and ultimately defeat the Theta-Devs threatening the Earth… and he’s also a defector from the original invading force. He refused to support the cruel experiments and flesh peddling, turning his back on his own kind to help the humans.

Humans like Calli, who he stumbles upon while Anti-Theta is raiding the attacked transport ship.

As the two make their escape, he realizes she has been used as a test subject too, like so many others before her. Others who never survived the process. Abducted and altered, Calli must now come to terms with those changes—or risk seriously harming humanity.

Can Estrevaga help Calli learn to uncover and harness her new abilities, or will she never see him as anything more than just another Theta-Dev beast like the ones who held her captive?

Rawr is Right!!!

I am loving this trend with all these furry lion men coming out lately. And this was one at the top of the list.

Estrevega was this sexy lion hunk with white fur and violet eyes. A seven foot tall warrior that's sweet, polite, and protective. He's part of the Anti-Theta team fighting against his own race, the Theta-devs, in this ongoing storyline of the Omegas of the OAN series. He's helping rescue humans that were abducted by the Theta-Devs, on their way to a new colony, then experimented on to see if they can survive the change to make them compatible with the Theta-Devs.

Calli, an omega and soil scientist, was on her way to Oberon colony to help with the soil quality and food production, when she wakes up on an unknown ship. Alarms and shooting can be heard out in the ship, a Theta-Dev finds Calli and grabs her but before he can take her anywhere, another Theta-Dev, Estrevega, finds them and saves her.

Once the Anti-Theta team realizes Calli has undergone the change, with such sticky political ramifications on the line with the peace treaty in the works, they know no one can find out what she has become. Also someone has to help her figure out and learn to control whatever new power has been unlocked within her. Something about Calli intrigues and calls to Estrevega. His protective instincts have gone into overdrive, so he volunteers to go into hiding with her and to help train her.

I just loved Estrevega. He was so sweet, so caring. Such a gentleman. I just loved how patient and supportive he was to help Calli through all the upheaval and changes in her life, not to mention training her to control her new power.

Calli was smart and down to earth. She was so open minded about the new path her life was on, but that was because she finally felt free to be who she wanted to be. She was able to spread her wings and let go of all the old things that had pulled her down. Calli was flourishing under Estrevega's care and attention. But like life, things don't always go the way we want, especially when outside forces are out to get you.

This was a sweet, interesting Omegaverse. Calli was an affection starved omega, with an open mind. Estrevega was not quite an alpha, alpha male. With his special double equipment *wink wink* they didn't even know how things were gonna work. OH but they definitely worked, in extra ways to make sure her need for a knot was fulfilled. I just love these purring, furry, cuddly lion alphas!!

Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great book and I really enjoyed it. There was action and plots galore along with witty one liners and romance. Not just an alpha/omega story. Calli was supposed to be going to a new world to help improve the growth of plants and ultimately food. Somehow though she wakes to find herself in what appears to be a medical facility and she is in great pain. The next thing she knows an alarm goes off and she needs to make it to the escape pods. She is found in her attempt to escape and is about to be hurt when she is saved by Estrevaga. He is a well-known figure and she feels like it is all a dream. She needs to come to terms with what has happened to her and the only way to do that is to send her to the country. She doesn't go alone though. Estrevaga for his part is more and more drawn to Calli and he can't quite explain why. Well he can but he is trying to pretend it is not what it is. He is fooling himself. Something has to break between the two of them and it will either create a new whole of the two or push them so far apart that there is no coming back from it. Which one will it be?

I read this book in one sitting...from about 1-4 am. It was so good. Estrevaga was adorable in his confusion with Calli's Omega status. Calli was a bit stubborn with everything that was happening to her, but that can be frustrating when your life is turned upside down. The spice was twice as nice with the "fancy eggplant" action going on. Theta-Devs are packing double! RAWR!

The Omegas of OAN series as a whole is amazing. I love the Theta-Dev villains. They are delightfully mean, cold-hearted, jerks. I can't wait to see what happens down the road. We've had a few crumbs left for us, so I hope those get attention! :)

This book pulls you in immediately and is all consuming until the very end. the world building and backstories of the characters was amazingly done. the slow burn between Estrevaga and Calli was swoon worthy....also there's double peens and they do glorious things during particular heat cycle.

This book fogged up my Kindle screen and made me blush a few times. Vividly spicy, imaginative, and jaw-dropping. It's a sci-fi retelling of Beauty and the Beast where the beast stays beastly in appearance. It really worked for this book, the 'beast' is equal parts dominate and sweet. The cover art is amazing and pretty spot on with the beast description- plus a few surprises you'll enjoy unwrapping yourself. The female lead is an omega that has a pretty cool ability instead of just plain Jane human which I enjoyed. The synopsis is accurate - with a lot of the book focusing on controlling her ability and fun times between the couple. This is the 3rd book in the Omegas of OAN series but can be read as a stand-alone, I started with this book and had no trouble keeping up. No cliffhangers, amazing HEA (epilogue ×2), detailed trigger warning list, and witty banter and camaraderie among their group of friends/supporting cast. I really enjoyed reading this book. It wasn't a deep life-changing emotional read but sometimes that's exactly what we need, a few hours of escape. If you're still unsure about buying this book I suggest reading the free sample, I always utilize the free sample option on Kindle or the look inside option on Amazon. Happy reading. The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was very high quality, with no typos that I found and gripping authorial voice. The world building was amazing, with future Earth using environmental domes and advanced technology being deftly woven into the story. The characterization was great, though the hero was too sweet and caring to make a convincing Beast for the fairytale re-telling. The heroine was sweet, complex, and sympathetic, though I did feel like her indecisiveness regarding her sexuality and inability to recognize attraction was odd for an adult woman to my Millennial mind. Maybe it was because she was an oppressed omega? The romance between these two was sweet, swoony, and deeply romantic. The heat level in this novel was SIZZLING, five chili peppers. The plot was action packed and exciting! I was surprised that the author chose to wrap up the Theta-Dev threat entirely in this novel, but I loved the fact that the heroine defeated the bad guys single-handedly. I LOOVE it when the heroine is the one to kill the bad guys! So much more satisfying than when the hero does it for her. This novel was low angst and high stakes throughout, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Mating Bond trope and the Superhero trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all five stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also five stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of five stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, which was a major plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy vivid world building and high stakes in their omegaverse romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases! I will buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Just OK

I was a little nervous to read Omega Rescued. It isn’t everyday that you read a Beauty and the Beast retelling where the beast never shifts into the form of a man. Estrevaga’s appearance as a lion/alien was downplayed at times but then emphasized at others. For example, he would have fangs whenever he smiled, but the two main characters kissing was never an issue. How?!  Or other times he would hold the FMC’s hand in his palm and his hand was never described. Does he have paws like a lion or hands like a human? Nothing about him is human but this occasional lack of description threw me. I wish that parts like this were more detailed.

There were other parts of the book that were detailed that I simply didn’t care about, at all. I will say that this was my first book in this series though. So someone who read the series from book one would probably eat up all those other details and love the resolution to the whole conflict that happened in this book. However, as this book is described as an interconnected standalone it didn’t quite work for me in that respect.

There were a couple grammatical errors in this book as well as tense changes. The book is written in third person POV but at one point the FMC has a line written in first person POV. These might seem small but they stood out pretty clearly to me.

Overall I liked the two characters together and felt that the book was solid about 40% of the time. The other 60% of the time was unnecessary or could have been drastically trimmed down. I didn’t feel there was a need for this book to be almost 400 pages long.

I really liked the character of Calli, she was believable as a victim of the Theta-Devs. I really like that she came from a rich background but was treated like she was the second class citizen so that she became more of a human rather than a product of her environment. I really enjoyed the character of Estrevega as well, I found him quite endearing because he wasn’t like his relations the Theta-Devs on the ship, he had become more like the other superheroes as Calli called him. He had compassion and he treated her like she was someone special. I especially loved how he came to her rescue when he was taking her away from the spaceship.

The relationship between Calli and Estrevega was as quick as any normal romance would be, he started off as her rescuer, then as her trainer next, then he became her friend. Then when her heats came on, he became her lover and then her mate. Their love for each other was really sweet and it was brought on by being close to each other for so long. The progression of the story throughout the book was constant and the pace was to be expected and enjoyable. Overall I loved reading this story. It was great to have a continuation of the story from the three previous books. I would love to be able to read more of these stories if there are any more characters that can be brought into the storyline.

This is a fantastic story with lots of passion, abductions, romance and steamy scenes. It’s well written and has some amazing characters.

Call I was on her way to Oberon when she was taken out of cryosleep and changed by the Theta-Dev. When she wakes there’s an alarm blaring and a warning to get into the escape pods. When she tries a Theta takes her but she unknowingly uses her new powers which gives Estravega an opening to kill him. New to her powers Calli goes to one of Orrson’s mansions with Estravega to hone her powers. It takes time but along the way they grow closer then a lot closer and are mated. Calli has control of her powers so they move back to Orrsons tower where the Anti-Theta-Dev live and work. She’s out with Zina when she’s taken by the Theta-Dev. Estravega is furious when he finds out even more so when they get a video of Calli unconscious and The General, Estravega’s uncle telling them to stay out of the peace talks with the government. Estravega decides to take matters into his own hands and gives himself over in exchange for Calli. When The General shoots Estravega Calli is distraught. That’s when all hell breaks loose, she is determined to save her mate no matter what.

4.5 stars. Calli, the female human lead, has woken from stasis in pain and on a spaceship, not the colony world she expected to be in. Estrevaga, the male alien lead, is part of a boarding party who finds and ultimately rescues her, though he is the same species as her kidnappers.

When it is realised that Calli has become superhuman, she is sent to a remote estate with Estrevaga so he can teach her how to control her new powers. As the only living beings present and as he’s her tutor, they spend significant time together, building a relationship.

This story is dual POV, well written, and a lot of fun to read. I enjoyed the primary relationship but also the interaction of secondary characters. Whilst I believe the story stands alone, it will be more enjoyable if the others in the series have been read (and they’re great and worth the read as well)!

Estrevaga and Calli meet under the most unusual of circumstances and Calli - as the victim of a kidnapping needs to adapt to life on an alien planet. She is a specialist in soil content and the effect the soil has on the food we eat. She is contracted to look after the gardens of an isolated mansions as she learns to harness and control her powers. Unbeknown to her she has been injected with a serum that brings her heat on prematurely and poor Estrevaga - her magick tutor is the only one available to see her through. The relationship they build is so sweet yet powerful. They compliment each other and the time comes when Calli needs to harness her powers and use them to save themselves. Can she do it?
I love this sort of book and look forward to many more. This author is awesome. Her writing is easy to read and even though this is paranormal/omegaverse - it's highly believable paranormal/omegaverse.
Highly recommend

Estrevaga and Calli's Story . . .

Callista, an omega and soil scientist, never wanted the life her parents planned for her where her only ambition was to breed more Alphas. So she signed up to travel to the Oberon colony to help with terraforming. Unfortunately, she wakes on a spaceship that is under attack.

Estrevaga D’Thani, a seven foot tall warrior who is sweet, polite, and protective, is fighting against his own race, the Theta-devs. He works with the Anti-Theta team now, an elite taskforce trying to defeat the Theta-Devs threatening the Earth with their cruel experiments and callous use of the humans. Rescuing women from the transport, he finds Calli and they escape. He is aware they experimented on her. Many never survive the process. But it means she can never go home, as she will be a danger to humans.

Will Estrevaga work with Calli to discover her new power? Or will his being a Theta-Dev beast make her too uncomfortable?

This is the first book I've read from this series (I was lucky enough to receive this for free), and now I want to go back and read the others too. This is such an interesting world! Osborne's take on omegaverse is really unique. I love Estrevaga! He's so sweet and majestic and beautiful. And his purple eyes! And his purr! *swoons* This is the perfect example of medium burn, high heat. The heat (literally) comes right in the middle of the book haha. And it's scorching hot. Also, Calli's heat brain is hilarious! Not going to spoil but she has such an epic moment at the end! It was like a movie scene.

Osborne, you have done it again.  This book was deliciously done, it was romantic and thrilling.  It hit all the right feels in all the right places 😉.  I believe we all need an alpha theta-dev, especially if they are anything like the MMC, Estrevaga.  Let me tell you, you'd love him just as much as I do because not only can you empathize with what he has gone through but you will definitely love his attitude.  And, the FMC, Calli, well she is pretty cool.  She can multi-task and persevere when different situations occur.  Overall, the storyline
flowed quite well, there was action, romance, and the spice was steamy.  A definite reader in my books!

This is an amazing story and It’s well written and has some amazing characters.

What's interesting is that Calli a human was changed into Theta-Dev (an alien) with powers. We don't get to see this type of story where a human turns into one of them out there.
I like that Estravega (the hero) is Anti-Theta-Dev and willing to go against his people to stand up for what is right. The plots are interesting but not unpredictable, nevertheless, it was still a good pace book with interesting co-characters. It was not your typical Omegas book. Worth the read for sure.

Love will triumph

Estrevaga is a Theta-Dev that chose to side with Earth over 10 years ago when he realized his own people were conducting experiments on humans.

Calli, on her way to the colony of Oberon was captured and changed by her captors. Estrevaga and his team infiltrate the enemy ship to rescue the crew.

Estrevaga and Calli cross paths and a fantastic story of Alien meets girl, with a wonderful, heart pounding amount of suspense, romance and adventure to keep you on your toes.

With the series concluded, I only hope we can see more of the wonderful cast of characters from OAN, in a future book.

This is by far one of the best books I’ve read this year! Both Estrevaga and Calli are perfectly written! This is a slow burn romance with the excitement extraterrestrials wanted to enslave human woman. I LOVE the fact that humanity is not written as stupid and primitive. I love the thrill of the final confrontation, I won’t ruin it for you all with a spoiler, but it had me at the edge of my seat. It was that good! I read a lot. This one is a keeper to savor reading and rereading again and again. Download readers and enjoy!❤️❤️❤️

The omega heroine gets caught up in a vigilante super hero situation where she’s slowly attracted to her alien instructor hero. This attraction goes nuclear 🔥🔥🔥🔥 when she goes into heat. But with the happiness comes fear and great danger and with that, enough tension (nail biting) and suspense (🤭😬😯) to keep you turning the pages nonstop to the very end.

Loved it

Found the series by accident and read it straight through. While you can read each as a standalone, the story flows better if you read the 3 books in order as the core characters are on all 3.

Fun next book in the series

I was hoping he would get his story told and I’m really happy with how it came out. I really hope the series continues since I just love each of these books. I especially hope for a story about Orrson…
