Children will love this hilarious, all-new story by Norman Bridwell about everyone's favorite big red dog!
Clifford's going on a trip with Emily Elizabeth's class to a science park and an aquarium. In true Clifford style, he gets into a few scrapes. Seeing a dinosaur skeleton, he decides to try one of the bones. CRASH! That dinosaur will never be the same again! Curious about a pool at the aquarium, Clifford sticks his nose in the water...and comes nose to tentacle with a squid! But Clifford saves the day when he helps a baby whale return to the ocean. A class trip is never boring with Clifford, everyone's favorite big red dog!
Norman Bridwell was an American author and cartoonist, best-known for the Clifford the Big Red Dog series of children's books. Bridwell attended John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana. He lived on Martha's Vineyard, MA, where he wrote an average of two books a year.
Clifford joins Emily Elizabeth's class for a trip to a science museum and aquarium. Clifford gets up to his usual mischief but does limit himself to only breaking one thing. An attempt at an exciting ending has Clifford getting involved in returning a whale to the sea (but without any Free Willy drama).
Bridwell stuck pretty closely to one formula for his 80 Clifford books and this 72nd one is a perfectly bland example of it.
I gave this book a 5 star rating because all the little children love Clifford, the big red dog! Clifford's class trip by Norman Bridwell is a simple picture book where Clifford goes on a trip with Emily Elizabeth and her class. They take a trip to an aquarium as well as a science park to learn more about animals from the sea. We all know that Clifford is big and he can cause a few bumps in the road, a few problems but in the end Clifford makes his way out of those problems and saves the day some how, some way. He makes the world a better place. This book is intended for children ages 4 and up. Clifford's books and TV shows are such classics, I would most definitely recommend this book to any child.
In Clifford's Class Trip, by Norman Bridwell, Clifford embarks on a school field trip with Emily Elizabeth and her class. They go to an aquarium and see many different animals. While they are there, Clifford gets himself into a small predicament. At the end of the book, Clifford helps out a baby whale in a surprising way.
I gave this book four stars because Clifford, I believe, is a classic and when I was a kid I remember enjoying the big red dog. I think that the story line was a little too boring, however I also thought the book was well written and easy enough for early readers to understand. The pictures are fun and simple and follow along with the story. I I would recommend this book to my kids or students.
Clifford books are always interesting and nice to read to a young child. This one is simple but yet still had a storyline. So for beginner readers it wouldn't be a hard book for them to read on their own. Clifford goes with Emily Elizabeth's class on an outing and learns just along with the children.
This book is about how Clifford saves the day for the class trip. He is able to carry the children to the different places they need to go when the bus won't hold all the children. He catches a ball for the seals, and returns a whale to the ocean.
Who can go wrong with Clifford? He always helps whenever he can and makes friends along the way. In this book, he makes friends with marine animals, especially a baby whale.
Mama read this to me the other night. I love Clifford! I watch his show sometimes but I love the books because I like to look carefully at the illustrations.
This Early Reader book uses simple language to tell of Clifford and Emily Elizabeth's adventure to an aquarium with their class. Clifford interacts with the seals, gets in trouble with an octopus, is saved by a dolphin, and comes to the rescue of a baby whale.
