Lost with a Scot. Oh my gosh! Read this story please. In my mind I was swept away to the Scottish highlands and England. This story was very captivating, as well as wonderfully written. Aiden and Anna are the it couple when it comes to a sweet romantic historical romance novel.
Anna is a strong, intelligent woman with a head on her shoulders. Aiden is much the same, but he is a fierce Scottish warrior who loves his people very much. I found myself liking all the characters. Their motivations and or actions fell in side by side with the plot, therefore enhancing the story even better. This is when I knew that I was reading an entertaining book.
Page after page the words offered me a clear visual of the characters and how they moved throughout the story. The plot was very logical and was set well with the time frame for back then. The part that stuck out to me the most is when Anna revealed her warrior capabilities in action. Knocking down mercenaries and martial arts moves was interesting indeed. The Scottish character’s accent was written in wonderfully.
I always believe writing in character’s with their accents makes the reader relate more to the characters. The dialogue among the characters was clear. The story background was believable. This story held strong to the heavy emotions that surrounded each character. I absolutely loved how each person, that is Aiden’s brother’s and sister- in- laws stood for that one person, because it was all in relation to a families honor.
Alexi’s character I thought was marvelously written. The bond between the brother and sister was visibly strong. It made me hope that all will turn out well for the two. The romance between Aiden and was steamy, but pure with love, and intertwined with some lustful desires. This story is a warm historical romance that I look forward to reading again in the future.
I don’t believe that I will get enough of Aiden and Anna’s story. I give this book two snaps and a, “Aiden, I draw the line at having the animals in our bedroom. The highlight of my life is each night with you above me and that’s all the animal I need.” Until next time my fellow readers… read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Mad About Series Challenge 2023. League of Rogues #16. The H is Aiden Kincade youngest brother to Brock, Brodie and Rosiland. The h is Princess Anna Zalensky of Ruritania (neighbor to Prussia) twin sister to Alexai Zalensky future King. This book is a classic Ruritanian Romance based on the original book "Prisoner of Zenda " written in 1884 by Anthony Hope. There is a murder and a Kingdom stolen from one brother to another. Anna and her brother escape. Alexai stays to fight his Uncle with loyal soldiers against Yuri's hired soldiers and guards. Alexai asks Anna to sail to England and ask for King George's help. Anna's ship is sunk in a storm. She ties herself to a mast and is washed up on the shore and Aiden finds her nursing her back to health. She experiences temporary amnesia and only remembers her name Anna. Aiden who is kind and an animal healer has been dreaming about Anna for years. A Romani woman told him he would fall in love with a woman from far away and he would die for her. Anna also dreamt about Aiden too. They are destined by fate to be together. There is lots of drama, espionage, fairytale romance and great love scenes in this adventure romance. League of Rogue members in this story: Godric and Emily St. Laurent, Duke and Duchess of Essex, Cedric and Anne Viscount and Countess Sheridan, Jonathan and Audrey( Sheridan) St. Laurent , Baron and Baroness Lennox, Ashton & Rosiland(Kincade), Lucien and Honoria(Sheridan) Russel, Marquess and Marchioness of Rochester. The Kincade Clan, Brock and Joanna, Brodie and Lydia, Aiden and Anna. The Earl of Morrey.

My favorite books in this sereis are: Lost with a Scot, Aiden and Anna's story, The Last Wicked Rogue, Charles and Lily's story.
Favorite Rogue and Female Characters: Cedric and Anne, Ashton and Rosiland, Audrey, Charles.
Relatives of Rogues: Rafe Lennox, Avery Russel, Lady Russel, Earl of Morrey, Trystan Cartwright, Bridget Ringgold

This is one of Lauren Smith’s best work that I’ve read so far. If I wasn’t rating based on my enjoyment, then this would have been 4 stars.

There’s a bit of magic/prophecies/talk of fate, future, & destiny; temporary amnesia, royalty, action: a rescue mission with the help of the League of Rogues and taking back the throne.

Unfortunately, it’s not the type of romance I wanted to read about. Hence, the 2 stars.

The hero and heroine have dreams (almost premonition-like) of each other and so when they finally meet, they gradually accept that they’re meant to be together. I like seeing/reading more of a build up to the relationship. The second half focuses more on helping the princess and her twin brother claim back the throne from their evil uncle (half- or step uncle?).

Other notes:
The heroine (a princess) has temporary amnesia from a ship wreck. Aidan is not a rake/rogue, which I didn’t expect at all. Thus, I found him kind of boring for a hero. Oh, but he’s perfect for the heroine. He’s a great guy in general. He’s a lover and healer of animals, reminding me of Beatrix Hathaway from Lisa Kleypas’s Love in the Afternoon. His family home is crawling with animals.

That’s it.

When her parents the king & queen of Ruritania are murdered, Crown Prince Alexei sends his twin sister Anna to England to garner the support of King George against the uprising. When a storm wrecks the ship Anna is thrown into the sea & washes up on the shores after Scotland. With no memory of who she is except her name. The last thing Aiden expects is to find a beautiful woman half-drowned while he rides along the beach. But the moment he takes her into his arms, he realizes that this is the woman he has dreamed about for years, the woman who had been prophesied to bring about his death should he dare to love her. It’s clear from the moment they meet, that fate has brought them together.
Whilst this is the seventeenth book in this truly wonderful series it could easily be read on its own. Once again the author has written a roller coaster of a book packed full of danger, adventure, edge of the seat moments & a beautiful love story. The characters are so real you feel that you are with them & experience all of the emotions with them. I loved both Aiden & Anna who were perfect for each other & fell hard & fast but their journey to a HEA is strewn with numerous obstacles but I was there cheering them on every step of the way. I loved how the other members of the League supported Aiden & Anna & it was great catching up with them. A very well written engrossing, emotional read – I loved it
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Book seventeen in this League of Rogues series, and this book doesn't disappoint. Normally this far into a series books start to repeat or lose pace, this book disproves that theory.
Aiden Kincaide, the youngest son of a cruel father, brother to Brock, Brodie and Rosalind finally gets his story. Gentler in many ways than his siblings, with a deep understanding of animals, when Aiden finds a young woman washed ashore from a shop wreck, he doesn't expect to be drawn into the royal court of a European nation, or to fall in love with and be completed by a princess.
Wonderful to meet up with so many other 'rogues' again, always improves a book to revisit old friends.
Another winner from this author. Roll on book eighteen.

Since 2015, I have read hundreds and hundreds of different authors but I only have 31 authors that I consider my favorites and have read all their books (in my genre). Lauren Smith is one of those authors. This is my 32nd book of hers I’ve read. I read a couple of her books in 2015 and 2016 but didn't pick her up again regularly until 2018.

I have loved this whole series. I waited a long time for this book to come out. It was on my TBR list for over a year. It didn't disappoint.

I loved these characters, Anna and Aiden. I really liked the storyline a lot. So different than the usual Regency ton books. I liked the suspense and intrigue.

I highly recommend her.

I’ve read a few of these books by the author. No need to read in order as they can be read alone, although there are a few characters from previous books that make an appearance.

Great attention to detail, the Scottish words take a little getting use to, but once I managed to sort it out, it didn’t stop me flying through this book.

Aiden and Anna’s story had me smiling, crying and wishing it was longer.

Aiden finding Anna on the shore after a storm, being shocked at recognising her face from his dreams, and then finding out Anna doesn’t recognise him, nor does she know who she is!
Anna has a past that could kill her and anyone close to her, but she doesn’t know that (yet) but she is attracted to her rescuer, it won’t hurt to stay with him until her memory comes back, will it?
A friendship soon strikes up, and I get the feeling Aiden would like it to be more. And then it doesn’t take long for Anna to wish for the same.
I had to smile at Aiden’s love of animals, there is one particular scene with a hedgehog 🦔 that will have you chuckling. 😆

And when Anna’s memory returns will it mean the end of Anna and Aiden? People are looking for Anna, who? And what do they want with her?

Can they fight these feelings? Or will they be torn apart by duty?
And what about the warning Aiden received as a lad….. will Anna be the death of him?

Another great story by this author. Full of adventure, passion and a little mystery thrown in for good measure.

Really enjoyed the continuation of this series. This book focuses on Aiden, the last of the Kincade brothers to find their other half. This story didn’t go the way I expected but it was kind of magical, a dash of fairytale charm and a dashing adventure of a princess who finds her way to Scotland by what seems to be fate, to meet a certain sweet and sensitive Scotsman. Their romance was definitely the work of fate or destiny. Finding each other seemed written in the stars. This doesn’t mean there was nothing in their way but actually a rebellion and tyrant to overcome. Aiden has always been gentle, sweet and sensitive, fiercely loyal and loving. He is the same with his family and Anna as well. Loved Anna and Aiden together. Always lovely to see other characters in this story. Excited for the next book!

I fell in love with the Kincaid men years ago and am finally getting to Aiden. The youngest, quiet Scot with the heart of gold. His tender care has always been his strongest quality. The way he takes care of every injured and lost animal, makes it natural that he would be drawn to a lost princess. The instant connection between Anna & Aiden was such a wonderful foundation. I love that we got to see a tender courtship between them, strengthening their bond and learning their true character. As always, Smith taps into the overwhelming love that reaches into your heart and takes root. I loved the cavalry call to the League of Rogues, getting to visit with the original characters of my heart. Those heroic moments with Ashton, Charles and the boys made my heart glow. It is these family & friend bonds that make this series stand out.

Excellent story of adventure ,danger, love and old friends,

It’s an amazing story that grips you immediately and doesn’t release you. From the first page to the last you can’t put down this book. There is a foreshadowing throughout the book that suggests danger and magic is involved. The hero is the sweet, emotionally tormented youngest Kincaide brother Aiden. Anna is rescued from a shipwreck and has amnesia. Anna and Aiden share a mysterious relationship. As the story progresses you discover their similarities and emotional bond but fate may not provide a HEA. Remember to breathe while you read till the very end. This is an incredible story.

Those Wonderful Kincade!

Lost With a Scot, book 17 of Lauren Smith’s League of Rogues is another sensational story about the wonderful Kincade brothers! Aiden is the youngest and most sensitive of the Kincade brothers. He has been destined to sacrifice his life for the woman he loves, when he finally meets her, as was foretold to him when he was a lad. Anna is a beautiful Ruritanian princess in exile who has lost her memory, when Aiden finds her shipwrecked upon the shores of Scotland. The woman of his dreams. This story was magical, the characters strong, caring, and so wonderful. The story was brilliantly written and a marvelous addition to the League of Rogues series.

Dreams

Aiden the youngest of TBE three Kincade brothers, had dreamed of a girl all his life but the dreams were not good ones. Anna, Princess of Ritatonia, had dreamed of a young man all her life. He waz rescuing her from a well. During a terrible storm the ship she's on is wrecked by a storm and she washes up on shore only knowing her first name. Imagine Aiden's shock when he finds her and she's the girls in his dreams Lauren Smith has created a story that will take you from highs to lows and back again and you will live every single word!!!

Much anticipated, and didn't disappoint! So glad to see Aiden, the youngest Kincaide brother, get his happily ever after. Took a lot for him to get it too -- rescuing a woman, overcoming her condition, gathering forces to defeat a usurper, etc. The far flung drama could have been overwhelming to the love story, but the author deftly kept it all in check. Great balance between "fated" and free will. I enjoyed the bits of Highland magic throughout.

Absolutely recommend, either as part of the League series or as a standalone.

Yet another rousing instalment of League of Rogues by Lauren. This time it was Aidan’s story.
The characters, both old and new, in this series are a joy to read about. With the wonderful descriptions, you can close your eyes and imagine you are actually living it.
With help from his brothers and some of the other rogues, Aiden goes in search for the woman of his dreams. The twists and turns will keep you turning those pages.

Lost with a Scot (The League of Rogues Book 17)

There are not enough stars for this book. Lauren Smith has done it again, this League of Rogue's book may be my favorite. The love between Anna and Aiden comes off the pages. I didn't know if they would have their HEA until the very last pages.

Only issue was the discussion of Emily trying to find a wife for Charles. Charles married Lily in "The Last Wicked Rogue." Rafe Lennox is in need of a wife and mother for Isla. And I think his book is next.

Fantastic

I loved it. Lauren never disappoints. Well written. Nice easy flow. Characters are vivid and well rounded. I love being able to revisit characters from the series. The action is fast paced and the villain suffers for his crimes in the end. Lovely ending and nice lead into the next story. Can't wait to read it.

What a page turner.....

The story started with some dreams (albeit a bit on the depressing side), that seemed to be coming true; but eventually were turned to the positive.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat - with interest in the growing love story and anger at the villainy.

The series has not disappointed and I am so glad to catch up with the characters from the earlier stories.

This book bordered on being a fantasy romance for me due to it’s unrealistic scenes such as the ability to see the future. Anna and Aiden’s love is what I haven’t read in a long while. It was selfless and deep, it was almost (literally) out of this world.

There are male and female narrators. So why, oh why, does the female attempt the male voices and vice versa??? There's no reason for it unless they weren't in the recording studio at the same time. It cost a star. Good story, though.

Novela completa

Bonito fin de la trilogía de los hermanos Kincade. Fueron diferentes a los Pícaros pero muy atractivos en su estilo. Brillantes esposas las tres. Me despido de esta serie con buen sabor de boca. Recomendable!

This is the first book in this genre that has given me food for thought. A topical political statement is woven into the story. However, the concept is very old—the author explains this in the postface.

Basically the story of Anastasia but set in regency period Scotland and magic exists, pretty predictable if you're familiar with the legends/lore behind Anastasia, especially the live-action movie from the 80s
