Gemma Davis I’m moving forward with my summer plans: Mission Promiscuous. Tired of being single and frustrated, it’s time I take charge of my pleasure. I’m on the hunt for some fun on two strong legs, when my dark-haired, blue-eyed fantasy man walks right out of my wet dreams. Mission accepted; I will do whatever it takes to lure him into my arms.
Elijah Adler I’m a very busy man. As the CEO of my real estate development company, I’m married to my job. My commitment and drive to be the best leaves little time for unplanned...distractions. But when Gemma dances into my life, I begin to wonder if maybe it’s time to make an exception to my rule.
Ready to risk it all, Gemma makes it her mission to make her fantasy man her reality. But, can she convince him to play with her, if only for the summer?
Mission Promiscuous is a steamy 86,000-word first love/all grown up/the one that got away standalone romance. This book contains themes suited for mature readers.
Lala enjoys spending time with her husband and cuddling with her pups. While she is obviously a lover of reading, reality TV, and podcasts about reality TV, Lala considers herself a vodka enthusiast, a wannabe wine connoisseur, and a caftan fashion icon. Writing has always been a dream of hers, and Mission Promiscuous, her first book, is a dream come true.
Urm, excuse me. This is LaLa's DEBUT?! I can't actually believe that after finishing this book, that had me hooked from the start.
Where to start with this book, Gemma is looking for a summer of fun after breaking up with her ex, and of course as fate would have it - she meets up with her childhood crush again. Gemma is amazing, she's feisty, assertive and is definitely not afraid to try anything! Then we have Elijah, a workaholic who doesn't date. He is just such an insanely dirty talking, alpha who is completely drool-worthy.
The story is a wonderful read, it's exciting, sexy and full of a lot of fun between Gemma and her friends - and of course Elijah. I'm honestly so excited to see what Lala does next because this was insane!
Elijah and Gemma’s story is heart warming. She’s loved him since she was. Tween and carried that crush her whole life. They meet again and fireworks! He breaks all his rules for her. Love their story!
I have to say, Gemma and Elijah are goals! And they’re suuuuch a hot couple, and their story building is amazing, we get to know Gemma, and then we get to know Elijah, and then we get to know them both together. We learn how they’ve met.
Gemma starts her Mission Promiscuous after she gets out of a bit so good relationship, she has some fun with it for a bit, but soon she meets Elijah and we’ll they definitely do a whole lot of promiscuous things.
This story is fun, witty, hot hot hot, easy to read and leaves you begging for more. It’s soooo well written, it’s amazing all around.
And yes this is Lala’s debut novel, I can barely believe. Typed gold is what I called.
Don’t miss out, grab your copy and I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do!!!
Lala, thank you for this amazing couple and this amazing story, I can’t wait to read what else you have in storage for us 🥰
Looking for enough steam to fill a sauna? Mission Promiscuous will not disappoint. Gemma’s reached a point in her life where tepid sex and ho-hum relationships just aren’t going to do it for her. Lucky for her the delicious friend of her brother’s that she remembered from her childhood makes an appearance. And he’s even more mouth-watering than he was all those years ago.
The heat between Gemma and Elijah sizzles, the friendships both between Gemma and her gang and Elijah and his are en pointe, both for amusement & quick wittedness. The side characters are the type to leave you wanting their stories as well- something I absolutely love.
Writing and grammar are beautiful. The storyline flows smoothly with nice pacing. Honestly, this is the type of book that holds me on an author. I’m really looking forward to reading more from Lala Montgomery.
Lala Montgomery’s debut knocks it out of the park. This book brings the spice! Gemma and Elijah’s chemistry is electric. They are full speed from the minute they reconnect and I was living for it!
Gemma works for a publishing company in Chicago and runs into her teenage crush, Elijah, at a bar. They are immediately drawn to each other and decide to casually date. Elijah does not date. He prefers simplicity that he gets from sleeping with single moms and divorcées. Gemma turns his world upside down and they both end up head over heels in love.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - There is a HEA and honestly the whole book is a fun read.
This was such a great read. Lala really pulls you into the story and the life of her characters, so much so that a) I want to plan a trip to Chicago next summer, and b) as I was reading, I was hoping that this was the first of many so that I could read about the group of friends too. I need more!
That being said, this is a great, easy beach read. It's fun, it's funny, and it's equal parts fantasy (Elijah) and down-to-earth-single-girl-living-her-best-life-in-the-city-with-her-friends (Gemma). And the two of them together are perfectly steamy.
I loved this book from start to finish. It was sweet, upbeat, and a childhood crush to adult lovers set in gorgeous Chicago. I was amazed at Lala’s ability to keep me guessing. Every time I thought I knew where the plot was going, she switched it up on me, keeping me glued to the book all night. Definitely a great read and with some eccentric and fun-loving side characters, I can’t wait to see where Lala goes next!
Yes yes yes to everything about this story!🙌 This made me so happy while I was reading it! I had a constant smile on my face! Lala this is an amazing debut! I’m so excited for the next story coming! Elijah is so yummy, and Gemma, I feel I could be best friends with! Their whole group of friends was just fun to be with while reading. Amazing character development that had me hooked within the first few chapters. And may I say it was deliciously sexy!🔥🔥🔥Bravo Lala, easily 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was an amazing debut novel! It was fun, flirty, and s@xy as heck!! Elijah is the perfect book boyfriend and Gemma and her friends are the girl gang we all with we had! Absolutely loved it and can't wait for the rest of the groups stories!!
I was recommended this book by friends and I was absolutely not disappointed! I can't believe this is Ms. Montgomery's debut novel, she hit it out of the park. I absolutely loved Gemma and her best friends, they are fun, and sweet. I loved the music references, I could hear the music in my head as I was reading. This would be a great soundtrack to listen and dance to. Elijah is the perfect, hot, romantic, sweet book boyfriend. He was all business before meeting Gemma again. This was a fantastic and oh so steamy book that I couldn't put down. My only recommendation is to not start reading in the evening, lol. I was up until 3AM to finish the book.
Holy sexual heat, Gemma and Elijah have more than enough chemistry to light up the pages. Gemma is a career-centered woman who has never found a man who makes her toes curl. Elijah is too focused on his career to take the time to find anyone. That is until a night out at the bars reintroduces him to the little sister of a friend when he walks in and finds her sitting at the same table his buddies are at. Mission Promiscuous is a sexy book with plenty of sass with interesting side characters.
What an amazing debut from Lala! This book hits all the right places. Love Eli teaching Gemma everything he knows, love the lessons! 🔥 Hottt! Beautifully written and executed so well. And wow cannot wait for the next book! So looking forward to seeing more from this new author! Well done Lala!
Lalas debut novel?! I can’t wait to see what she has coming next. I couldn’t put this book down! It has been a really long time since I’ve read a book that had me hooked from the beginning. It’s so well written and I felt like I was right there, I loved the duel POV. Gemma and Elijah are absolute goals! I loved the build up of their chemistry/attraction/love to each other. 1000000/10 recommend! Will definitely be keeping a look out for future books.
I went into this story blind and I was so pleasantly surprised by how fun this read was! I was in the mood for hot, steamy and feisty…and that is exactly what @author.lala.montgomery delivered!
This is a friends to lovers “ish” story of two twenty something’s and their friends who live in Chicago. It was an enjoyable read that showed the awakenings in both Gemma and Elijah as they navigated feelings and sexual freedoms with each other. I loved the innocence of the love that blossomed, but also the intensity that I could feel off the page.
The friends of the main characters were staples in the story and I enjoyed the group scenes and “girl time” scenes that were plentiful. The lightness of these type of moments made the book a playful and sassy one! While there are moments of seriousness and drama this was just such a feel good, sexy read and so glad I dived in! A solid/🔥🔥🔥 read!
I just couldn’t get into this book and I just got annoyed with it.The dual perspectives shift back and forth too frequently so you never really sink into each characters voice.
Also, basically instalove. The MCs knew each other YEARS ago but the way they just spill their thoughts to each other from the start felt fake to me. People don’t actually communicate this way.
Also she’s got mission promiscuous going so she can hook up with lots of guys but she meets the MMC immediately and then it’s just all about him… so mission failed I guess? Granted I didn’t read far enough to see if she actually goes for any other guys but since we get both perspectives shifting every page and a half, I doubt it.
Wow! This deserves more than 5 stars! It was so good. I loved the plot & the characters are some of my favorites! It’s hard to believe this is her first book! I can’t wait to read more from this amazing author! The FMC is my kind of girl! She’s fun, assertive, and she’s not afraid to live life. The MC was super sexy and the perfect book boyfriend! I almost want to reread it! Can’t wait for her next book!
The idea of the story is cute and has potential to be great. I felt it was more tell them show, which took me forever for get through this read. I got to a point I started skimming. I enjoyed the friendships, not too much drama and of course who doesn't like a happy ending. I'll give this author another go hopefully the second time around will be better

Mission Promiscuous is a steamy 86,000-word first love/all grown up/the one that got away standalone romance. This book contains themes suited for mature readers. About the Author: Lala enjoys spending time with her husband and cuddling with her pups.
Gemma Davis is a party-girl with a failed love life, she's not interested in having a steady boyfriend so she decides to launch Mission Promiscuous for no-strings summer fun. Her plans start to go awry when she sees her pre-teen crush Elijah Adler with his friends during a night out on the town with her girls—Mia and Sasha. They meet, and she hits the dance floor where she puts on a dance show for him. When a guy gets handsy, it's Eli to the rescue. He requests a dance and she reminds them that they already know one another. He remembers her brother, but not her.
Their next meet-up is engineered by her friends and she tells him about her crush on him. He lets her know he doesn't do relationships (just casual) as he doesn't have time with the growth of his business for the drama, especially being with a (slightly) younger woman. Of course, she's on board because of her summer mandate, but that quickly runs it course when she starts to spend time with him.
They hit the sheets pretty early and I know that was her goal, but still, I didn't like Eli's presumptuousness. After a misunderstanding, they both promised to be communicative with one another though there were two occasions where things went awry and Eli wouldn't respond to her overtures to talk—which was very immature for a grown ass man. Thank goodness for his friends to tell him how unfair he was being to her.
There were moments Eli made me laugh and swoon and moments I could have throttled him. Gemma was very sweet and a bit too forgiving—she did too much of the work to keep the relationship going and at times Eli didn't do enough. Gemma did love her alcohol though she wasn't too drunk on one occasion to let Eli know that she wouldn't leave her girlfriend to go home with a stranger just because he said it was okay. I love the Girl Code.
SIDE NOTE: As mentioned in another review, the heroine doesn't protect or worry about her hair, based upon the cover I arrived at the conclusion she had wash and go hair.
This was this author's debut book and overall she does a good job. I'm going to take a peek at the next book in the series because I want to catch up with Gemma and Eli and see how they're faring in life. Recommended: Read It!
Sex filled, hot and steamy romance that will have you hunting down your significate other. Giving this a nice and hot Habanero Pepper on the Pepper scale. This is the first in this series and I have to say if this is the first than I am not sure if it will be able to get much hotter than this book! I did thoroughly enjoy this book because not only did it show characters that were ripe with flaws and very realistic, but it was funny as well as hot and steamy! I do love a steamy romance. As my friend stated that this maybe a book that some people have a harder time following because the POV changes back and forth throughout all the chapters. I put this book at 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Gemma, having been in a funk for the last six months after her breakup with her ex-boyfriend, decides that she need to be a bit Promiscuous since she hasn't really slept with many people. After making that decision, she is out with her girlfriends and runs into a man that she hasn't seen in years. Elijah is a no-strings-attached kind of man; he doesn't do relationships he does sex. The question is will Gemma change him, or will he change her?
If you don't like sex scenes that have explicit detail, then this is a book that you need to stay away from. However, if you like hot and steamy scenes with an alpha male lead then this is book that will get your blood heating and have you panting. The trope that I would classify this book as are as follows; Billionaire, Bi-racial, Alpha male, Explicit Content and Strong female lead.
I hope this helps you find your next Tantalizing Tome.
Sweet, steamy, and captivating! In the author’s self-description there’s a line “A teacher once told LaLa's parents that she was easily distracted by boys.” Well, seeing this cover on Instagram captured my interest; despite my advancing years and a happy marriage, I’m still easily distracted by ‘things designed to distract’ … and this cover most certainly is. The author also describes herself as writing ‘sweet and dirty’ romance, and Mission Promiscuous hits the nail right on the head - the chemistry between Gemma and Elijah is both deliciously sweet, and utterly filthy. While I can be turned off by how alpha-male stereotypes are written in many romances, there was just enough introspection and vulnerability in Elijah for me to remain hooked, while naturally my mind was focused more towards smoking-hot Gemma … mmm, mesmerizing! Am I too old for a book girlfriend? A beautifully written and captivating debut.
First book by this author and if was ok. A pet peeve of my knew when a author doesn't describe what the main characters look like. There was a lot if descriptions about what Elijah looked like but not so much on what Gemma looked like. His eyes are blue, but in hot sure what color her eyes were. How tall was she? Cause we know how tall he was. Dad she have dimples, what was her bra size? Coke bottle shape? Of apple shape? Brown skin is such a cop out color....She was biracial. I didn't know that until I was half way through the book. I was wondering why she never protected her hair in the shower and why she washed it so much. The story itself was ok. I wish she had bossed up in him more cut ignoring her after that while Dustin situation especially because in has ruminations about her age/maturity he was supposed to be more mature. Her begging and trying to be with him was not the move!
I was not sure what I was getting into with Mission Promiscuous by Lala Montgomery, but I wasn’t disappointed by what I found. It is a swoony, steamy, sweet contemporary romance book.
Gemma is tired of just sitting on the sidelines licking her wounds from her breakup. It’s summertime and she’s ready to make a change. With her friend’s help, she starts Mission Promiscuous. One night out on the town with her friends, Mia and Sasha, they run into a group of friends, Drew, Xander, Ty, and Elijah. And the perfect start to the summer’s Mission Promiscuous begins.
This is a fun, sweet, spicy Hallmark movie book read. It was fun to see Gemma grow into the confident person she was by the end of the book. I can’t wait to see what else is written about her and her friends.
This was my first book by this author, and it certainly won’t be my last. Elijah and Gemma were perfect together, their chemistry off the charts hot. Don’t even get me started on Eli’s dirty talk. Whew! That man has got a mouth on him!
I thought the character development and relationship growth was excellently paced to keep me engaged through every page. I enjoyed watching Eli go from perpetual bachelor to fawning boyfriend. He just couldn’t help himself! Though I did want to smack him when he got stubborn as a mule at one point.
Gemma was a very strong woman, but I loved how she let Elijah take care of her in so many ways because he truly loved doing it, and it showed her how much he cared.
This book right here!!!! Yes lala!! I smiled hard while reading this book, the fmc and her friends remind me a lot of mine. BFFs locked in for life. The plot was cute and the guys..YUM! A black FMC is always a yes for me. I like seeing myself represented especially when it’s IR. I too am in a IR marriage so I was moving my little toes under the sheets while reading lol again smiles heavy from me. The spice was delicious, the family bonding was grown and respectful, and the way his guys were keeping it REAL with him about needing her in his life, love! The first gift that he got her and her waiting months before showing it off, that part was perfect! I had been waiting for it to be brought back up and then bam. The moment for them on display was the perfect timing!! 5 stars
I read it on my kindle but it’s definitely a hard copy book that I need for my shelf for others to read too! Love it

The romance in this book was actually sweet. I did get annoyed with the fmc & mmc always talking abt their “fantasy” , like I get we have them but every time y’all are together do you have to bring it up?! The spice was sooo good. There really wasn’t that much of a plot (well to me it wasn’t) but it the book wasn’t bad. I gave it three stars because I did get annoyed & because the chapters were kinda long.
The setting and plot was romantic. Had things that are not for younger readers who do read older romance novels. However when it wasn't all about (naughty things) the chemistry was sweet! Felt unrealistic in some spots along with the next boom in the series. Usually I love the unrealistic sides of the romance!
