You'll Always Be My Baby

Rate this book
Yana is fresh out of a dull three-year relationship and while she wants to focus on her, Yana's best friend Jelly has other plans. After being dragged to a popular nightclub, Yana meets a man that makes her reconsider being single, the only problem is he comes with more baggage than she can carry. Rex is the man of every woman's dreams. He's paid, fine, and knows how to treat a woman, but he can't seem to keep one. It could be because the other women in his life refuse to stay out of his business. His big sisters Vickie and Nu-Nu are dead set on making sure no gold-diggers get too close to their baby brother. Then there is his mother, Linda. She doesn't mind going to great lengths to prove that no one is good enough for her son. This overbearing mother gives meddling a new meaning, the only problem is this time around it might come back around and give her a taste of her own medicine.Sit back and enjoy the ride, it should be interesting. After all, mama knows best right?

One thing about Ladii Nesha, she gon’ come through with the shyts and giggles with a heavy dose of messiness. When I tell y’all, this book was a hot funky mess and I mean that in the most positive way. The road to love was not easy for Yana and Rex. All they wanted to do was date, get to know one another, and possibly fall in love. But, his overbearing azz mama and sisters made that impossible to do. Linda was the devil in disguise. That woman was pure evil. In her mind no one, and I mean no one, was good enough for Rex. The things she did to keep Yana and Rex apart will blow your mind. Her duplicity knew no bounds. But, I fault Rex. When it came to his mama, he had some serious blinders. Rex refused to see Linda for the manipulative woman she really was, and it almost cost him everything. Yana had her own mama issues to deal with. Yazmine was TRASH! How you gon’ be jealous of your daughter when you’re the one who left her with your mama to raise while you were out being a hot girl for the last 24 years?!!! And, that foul shyt she did?!!! Ooooooo!!! I wanna tell y’all so bad but, I’m not. Just know, she deserved that azz whoopin’ Yana gave her. Jelly and Justin are the toxic non-couple we all deserve. While this storyline was about Yana and Rex, it may as well have been about Jelly and Justin because, they stole the whole damn book. These two jokesters had me in tears from start to finish. Jelly is my spirit animal. If you're not handin’ out a two piece to anyone that looks at me sideways, cuttin' off somebody's toes to get me the answers I need, purposely rockin' someone's jaw to go to jail with me, and offering to be my baby daddy when my real baby daddy is too busy being a mama's boy, you can't be my bestie. You'll Always Be My Baby was a phenomenal read. It was funny as hell and the plot twists were jaw dropping. This book is a cautionary tale that shows the importance of setting boundaries. Especially, with overbearing family members. Do yourself a favor and read this book.

4.5 Ayooooooooooo!!! I’m speechless! Rex’s family & Yana’s mother 🫣🧐😤😬😫😠😳🤔😨😰🫠🫨! Rex’s family was the most toxic, goofy, clownish family I’ve ever read about! Nu-Nu came to her senses before any of them, but that Linda and Vickie BAYYYBEEEHHH! How did Yana not catch a case!? After all of that taunting and stuff, the way I was raised would have completely gone out of the window! A human person can only take so much!! That damn Yazmin, I would have been lost my religion and forgot the words of the Bible behind her, because whaaaaaaattt!!! Then they had a nerve to put these 2 goofy hoes in a cell together 😫!!!

Either way I loved Rex & Yana’s relationship and how things ended for them! They both went through hell to get to where they ended up, and it seemed to be worth it for them! I swear Angelica “Jelly” Belize was a motherplucking RIDDDDDDERRRR, right along with Gigi! Jelly made me lmao 🤣! I loved Rex’s grandfather as well! This book was enjoyable and I went through a lot of anxiety to get to the finish line, but I made it through 😂😅! I do feel like it ended too abruptly, here I was looking for more like a fiend!! Ladii Nesha, aye sis, where did you come from 😂🤣!!!

Ladii Nesha may go down as one of the most entertaining authors. Reading her books is a guaranteed good time filled with laughs and original storylines. Rex’ family was crazy af, like psycho!

He was a 27 yo successful drag racer and his life was controlled by his mother and sisters. They ran off every woman that attempted to become the leasing lady in his life or remotely close to him under the guise of “protecting” him from gold diggers. There were no lengths they wouldn’t go through to keep his love life non existent🥴🥴

One day all that changes when “Yama” 🤣 walks into his VIP section with her crazy bff Jelly. It was love at first sight and he wanted Yana I’m the worst way! Yana was a successful nurse that was recently out of a three year relationship and while her first encounter with Rex and his sister should have had her running for the hills she stepped out on faith and fell head first in love.

This was a wild ride. You can expect the usual BFF antics from Jelly. If you’ve read other books by Nesha then you know very well. The betrayal, deceit and lies were plentiful! Yazmine, Linda and Travis need to dive head first off a cliff and got off way too easy if you ask me. They deserved to have raw steak tied around their necks and to be thrown in a lions den. Nesha has skyrocketed up my list of favorite authors. As I stays before, she’s a guaranteed good time!

🥰🥰🥰🥰

Lord, I don’t even know where to start with this book. Ladii Nesha is certainly gifted. Sis could get a side gig as a comedian. Rex is a young and popular drag racer on the rise. His mother, Linda has basically raised him to be like a husband instead of a son. She is a liar, controlling, and manipulative. She has done everything possible to keep his father from him and run away any woman that tries to get too close. She has even manipulated her daughters into helping her. Yanna is a young nurse who works in a private hospital. She’s a good girl with a sad past. When she meets Rex for the first time, his sisters are plotting and scheming from the beginning. Yanna sees the red flags immediately and wants not parts of it but Rex is persistent in his pursuit. Once he gets her, mom and sisters go into overdrive trying to teat them apart. Nesha knows how to start and keep some mess going. Yanna’s best friend Jelly really stole the show. Sis is crazy, witty, and freaking hilarious. Add in Rex’s hilariously funny Uncle and Gigi, Yanna’s grandmother and you have drama, betrayal, tragedy and comedy all rolled up in one. There was a whole lot going on in this book. I really enjoyed this book and the fact that I laughed as much as I groaned and rolled my eyes.

Yana x Rex

There's no way I just read this story, cause what in the hot mess? 😂🤣
There was not one likeable character in this book. Maybe Gigi and Jelly. Yana, I tolerated, but I was super annoyed that she put up with Rex and his family for so long. Rex was the ultimate mama's boy. He allowed his mama one too many time to disrespect Yana. And the fact that he waited so long to check Justin for his treatment of his sister after finding out everything.
Definitely did not like this story. The writing was a bit juvenile, however it was super funny….laughing out loud funny. The shenanigans in this book were hilarious and ridiculously outrageous. So I say read it if you're looking for a super funny, wild ride of a story. Not gonna discourage anyone from reading it, as it shows in the reviews and ratings, I may be the odd one, cause everyone else liked it. But you'll for sure definitely be entertained.

This Was A Wild Ass Ride

I did catch the gems floating around this story and I can’t wait to see who talks next to the author to share their story. Rex and Yana had crazy ass people in their lives to contend with….their lives were in turmoil thanks to the people that was supposed to love and support them. It took this couple an entire year to get their lives together.

Lol

This was just pure entertainment, lol. I thought Bianca was crazy, but Jellyyyyy is crazy crazy. Rex and Yanna stood the test of time, though. Rex family were just miserable and sad. I needed more on that ending.

Good read

I just wish there was more of Justin and Jelly. I know she don't want love and relationships but come on give me more. Justin needs to find love also. Rex and his wife made a cute couple and she was way better than me because I would've been laid hands.

This book was full of drama and comedy. The story centered around Yana, a young nurse, Rex, a drag racer, and their family and friends.

Yana and Rex fell for each other fast and hard, but with family like Rex’s, their relationship faced a lot of challenges. And Rex had to learn the hard way about what the Bible says about who comes before who in terms of pecking order between parent and spouse. Yana knew her worth and stood on business and made sure Rex knew what he would lose. I respected her for choosing herself and loving herself to not settle for less than she deserved.

Yana’s mother, Yazmine was a piece of work and my heart broke for Yana having a mother such as her. But, Yana had her grandmother, GiGi and her best friend, Jelly, both of whom did not play about her. Jelly was hilarious and bat shit crazy! Her antics had me rolling with laughter! I loved her! And grandma GiGi played no games. She was a little comedic relief herself. They were both great support systems for Yana. And in the end, Yazmine got the karma she deserved.

Rex’s mother, Linda was a nasty piece of work and his sisters were mere puppets and victims of their mother’s manipulation. Linda treated Rex like he was her husband instead of her son and sabotaged all of his relationships. And he was too blinded by his unconditional love for her to see it. But what happens in the dark will always come to light… and eventually, rose colored glasses come off and allow people to see a manipulative person for who he/she really is. Much like Yana’s mom, Linda reaped what she sowed and deserved what she got in the end.

I do believe in redemption, but some people do not deserve it and Yazmine and Linda were two people who definitely did not deserve redemption. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I enjoyed this story and the hilarious moments throughout.

I enjoyed this book so much! The author has absolutely no sense! I read this book in less than a day and I died laughing the entire time. This story while. HILARIOUS had a serious message. There are sadly soooo many women in the world like Linda, like Yazmine that should’ve seeked professional help before having kids. I loved Rex and Yana but BABY …Jelly and Justin had me cracking up the entire time. Nesha has done it again … sis seriously doesn’t miss and I can’t wait for what’s next.

It be your own mama! This was a crazy rollercoaster ride of mess. These mama’s were so sick and twisted that they didn’t see anything wrong with their actions. There were definitely some gems dropped in this cautionary tale and as usual this author does it with in her unique style of jokes, crazy antics and jaw dropping plot twist. Also Jelly for the win. I loved her character. I could read a book just about her and be happy. Another great read in the bag and I can’t wait for the next one.

The mother’s in this story were 🗑 TRASH!!! I think she wanted Rex as her man. Yana and Rex had too many hand in their relationship pot!!! They really loved each other and I am glad that was enough!!!

I didn’t like this one as much

So out of all the Ladii Neshas books I have read. This one was probably my least favorite one. Idk the characters were so unlikable. And I understand the MC has had years of being manipulated but his mother but I would have liked if he had more of a back bone.

Great story

This was such a good story. Rex mama and sisters were insane. I couldn’t believe the lengths they were going through to ruin his relationships. Yana is better than me, I would have laid hands on all three. But the star of the book in my opinion was Jelly. She was definitely rude or die for her bestie. Rex & Yana mom’s got what they deserved in the end.

Rex and Yana

I so enjoyed reading this book!! Now these mothers in this book was anything but nice. They took being a mother to a whole other level!!! Now Yana I’m glad she realized enough was enough. Jelly and Justin were just plain fools I can’t make up the things they did in this book but I loved every minute of it. Great job!!!

I've never wanted to fight so many characters in my life. This book was so messy but so entertaining. Thank God for Jelly because she was ride or die for our girl Yana because there was absolutely no reason for so many people to be plotting against her. Both Rex's and Yana's mothers need to be committed to a mental hospital.

Whewwwww this was a lot . Almost everybody in this book was trifling. Actually everybody in this book was trifling with exception of Jelly. Jelly was insane but she was the only one who had sense !

I was sick of Rex! No grown man should be that naive and dumb. Out the gate, his mama’s boy demeanor was a no go for me. Then he says he doesn’t deal with liars but then at some point lies to Yana. Like how does that work? His sisters and his mom were TRIFLING. Nu Nu got her redemption arc but I still feel like she didn’t deserve it because she was complicit with everything and could’ve spoken up but didn’t. Linda was out of her mind and swore Rex was her man. That lady was sick!

I wanted to like Yana but at the same time i felt she was stupid for putting up with even half of what Rex family put her through. No man is worth that, especially not Rex because he never put his foot down and stood up for her like how he should. He didn’t even chase her enough or redeem himself enough for me to even get her back . Gigi was the out of her mind and was stupid. She knew Yasmine’s disdain for Yana and still push for them to have a relationship despite it backfiring everytime. What good grandma would force her granddaughter to coexist with a woman that hates her? Also Gigi knowing about Yasmine’s betraying Yana in such a way and not saying anything was terrible. Yasmine needed life in prison! She was a terrible and disgusting mother. Her nor Linda got a good enough punishment for me.

The only character I really liked was Jelly. That was my girl. She was such a ride or die and I love how she never let anybody play her. Her and Justin were so funny together ! I wanted to hate them together but couldn’t. They had me laughing so hard ! Mr. Bruce was also a gem.

This book was definitely entertaining and hilarious.

Ladii Nesha had to have been a comedian in a past life because she is hilarious. This book was really good and super funny. I was cackling dyhm?! Cack-ling. Now to the nitty, the gritty and maybe not so pretty...loved Yana, Jelly, Gigi and Mr. Bruce. Jelly was such a good friend to Haha and everyone needs somebody like her that is willing to burn everything for their friends peace and happiness. Rex, honestly to me he was a simply, gullible, idiotic, mama's boy. I would say nobody is that naive and stuck on their mama but I actually know a man and dated a man who was like this with his mama and even worse with his sister. His family even had the sake running joke about them as Rex, Vickie, Linda & Nu-Nu had (you'll know it when you read it). Red's whole family minus Mr. Bruce made me mad. Asha made KS mad as well. But Game's mama Yasmine took the cake. And again you would think "oh, people like this don't exist in real life" but they do. I gave the book 4 stars bc of the grammatical errors. But I could tell this was one of her earlier works and she doesn't have that problem anymore. But overall I liked the book. It was funny and got straight to the point. Nice and fast paced with characters you'll love and characters you'll love to h*te.

Whew this book here READ IT!

Emotional Incest is real and it’s crazy how many mommas really be like this after the daddy leaves them. There are moms who are jealous of their daughters because of decisions they made smh. Yazmine😒 Linda😒 Travis😒 should be ashamed of the games they played. Bruce was definitely a fav for me. Rex got on my nerves until he got off that breast. I hate people who feel like they can’t set boundaries and still be respectful to their parents. That final scene between the mommas was just 🥴 them unstable creatures are insane. I’m glad Rex got to feel some pain for not being a grown man when needed. Yana didn’t want any parts but the heart wants what the heart wants. Jelly is a ride or die okay and she ain’t letting NOBODY play with her bestie. Justin had me looking at him like he was a simp frfr. Whew somebody free them sisters 🤣 cause ain’t no way 🤦🏾‍♀️.

A gem 💎

I read this in one sitting when I should have been going to sleep for work in the morning. This story had me hooked. I liked Rex and Yana, but I'ma be real, they weren't the reason I was so heavily invested in this storyline. The secondary characters gave me everything. The family's in this book are something I had never come across in a storyline, and I loved every second. They had me wanting to fight them, fight with them, and fight for them. Special shout-out to Jelly and GiGi, we all need riders like them in our corner. While I definitely spent a lot of time laughing, I can't not point out the light that was shined on the unfortunate toxic parent-child relationships that are out there in this world. Those storylines were grounding. All in all, I enjoyed this big time.

The drama

Boy, does Ladii know how to write some drama and som hilarity. I finished this book in one go this morning because I couldn’t put it down. One minute I was laughing and the next I had tears dripping down my face, well that happened closer to the end. Jelly was a serious ride or die kind of friend that was literally a life saver. The dynamics between both Rex and Yana’s family was straight crazy and was tossing me in never ending circles. Whew Lord I seriously love the books this woman writes, every single time. The only one I hesitate to read is here we go again because that couple was toxic in other books and from the reviews I know it’s just more toxicity.
