Jurassic Tower

In a Manhattan tower a bunch of researchers unleashes some prehistoric terror. Just pushed a wrong button or two, got overly ambitious and now there’s a portal and now it’s up to a bunch of trained military personnel to prevent it from spilling over onto the streets and making New York and even crappier and more dangerous place to be.
That’s basically the plot. The cover pretty much tells the story too. More luridly, really.
It’s fun, it’s meant as fun. There are no morals, no high drama, pure action. Man against dinos. And yes, you kinda want dinos to win, but it isn’t that kind of a book.
This is the third book I’ve read by the author so I knew what to expect. Wegener’s got the sort of whambam B movie thing down perfectly. From snappy banter to fast pace to dynamic shoot ‘em up sequences. I don’t normally read action, but every so often it’s nice to diversify and this was the right quick read to do it with. Plus I liked his choice of dinos for the scenes. They are feathered and untethered. Come to think of it, that would make a great tagline.
In the best Mr. Movie voice…They are feathered, untethered and coming through a portal to Manhattan.
If you’re familiar with Severed Press, this book is very much in line with what they publish. Wegener has two other books with them, which are also good fun.

Even Dinosaurs Can Be Boring.
Hate to say it, since I've loved giant thunder lizards for over seventy years now, but it IS possible to write a rather dumb Dino novel. And it isn't from lack action but rather the result of dumb,cliched and rather lazy writing. Better luck next time and don't have your characters' brains roll around in their heads so much in your next book.

You know, sometimes I just want some fun dinosaur action in my bookish life. I always head over to Severed Press when I’m searching for something new and epic. They rarely disappoint me with their books. 😀
Jurassic Tower caught my eye. Beautiful cover. I’d never read anything by this author before, but the plot sounded like a blast! I was NOT disappointed!
This is a super fun, super quick novella. Great pacing. The story gets straight to the CRAZY right off the bat. The low is perfect. There is rarely a slow moment. The whole story flows just so seamlessly.
I loved the main characters! The humans all have great chemistry together. Felt like a real group of teammates. Loved the banter between all of them. The author does a good job making me feel for the group as they face life and death.
Now——- DINOSAURS!!!! WOOOOOOOO! Yessssss! So. Much. Action. Dino action that is!! Lots of toothy carnage. Plenty of blood. Not your usual dinosaurs either, which was pretty cool, but don’t worry, some all time faves show up as well. 😀
Jurassic Tower, it seems is the start of a new series, maybe?? Great! 😀 I’d love to revisit these characters again. But, because of that (it being a book # 1), there are a few unanswered questions at the end. There is a little bit of confusion…. not sure if they were plot holes or vague in order to leave you hooked for book 2? I guess we will (hopefully) find out!
Even with a few vague details and unanswered questions, this was a fun novella. The characters are a joy to hang out with and there is so much awesome dinosaure action. It is really hard to be upset with Jurassic Tower. 🙂 I really hope this is a series. I would really like to see this universe again. 😀 Fun, fun, fun.

What happens when a secretive lab in the heart of Manhattan allows dinosaurs and humans to pass directly into the others worlds?
As the dinosaurs and the native jungle life from another time begin to fill the building, those remaining inside must fight for their lives to save themselves and turn off the power to what is causing these portals. On the other hand, there are also a group of survivors sucked through the portals into another time when dinosaurs ruled the world. They too must fight for their lives and hope to find a way back home.
A quick fun read from Severed Press. I really enjoyed it and plan on reading more from Jethro Wegener.

good imagination
What an imagination ina stotry so much adventure and danger. The story was very exciting you can’t put this book down. I hope this never happens in real life. Too terrifying to think about. Real good book

Great read!
