Avalanche wasnt my favorite in the beginning.

"His first assumption was that she was going to keep asking annoying questions. That she wasn’t going to be able to keep her mouth closed long enough for them to get away."

“I am familiar with the female anatomy. I’ve seen pussies…up close and personal."..   yuck.

I didn't get how Ashlyn thought he was a sweetheart. He was arrogant, impatient, crude, and brash. The first sex scene was awkward and made me uncomfortable.  Ashlyn had no choice but to have sex with Avalanche in order to heal his serious injuries.  He knew guards were watching and listening.  I didn't find it sexy at all.  I ended up skimming that and all the bj's to heal him.  Then, when he told her that he no longer wanted to screw her because he didn't like pity f!cks I wanted to kick him in his face.  Insensitive prick.

Then, at the end, he didn't fight for Ashlyn.  He pushed her away and she had to practically beg him to not send her away.  Needless to say, I am not team Avalanche.

I also still don't like Thunder.   He said to Avalanche:

“Thank you for bringing the human back safely. It could have ended badly for her."

In the last book, he refused to send anyone to rescue her. He said a human female wasn't worth risking dragon lives for. I bet he would have sent a party if it was his mate who was kidnapped.

The ending was kind of abrupt. I would have liked hints about what the next book is going to be about and who the mcs are going to be

I have not read a Charlene Hartnady book yet that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Her Dragons series (plural) are all in the same world and characters show up in other books so it almost feels like I live there now too and know these dragons personally.

The world building is great and doesn’t get messed up between books. They are all stand alone with HEA but I have read them in order and that helped with the world and character building. I highly recommend though you do need to be prepared for fairly graphic sex scenes and some swearing.

This book’s story didn’t resolve until very near the end and there was a time reading that I couldn’t see how they would make it out of their predicament. I hope that’s not a spoiler but I will put an alert on it just in case.

Avalanche🐉

Avalanche decides to descend into the cave dwellers territory to save Ashlyn, Riley’s friend, on his own. However, their escape attempt is thwarted and now Avalanche is to fight the cave dwellers to win the prize….Ashlyn😳 Unfortunately, the cave dwellers, but for a few, hate the dragons and try everything to ensure Avalanche fails, while Ashlyn helps him to ensure their success🤩

A great story with some interesting “new” creatures and a bit more information on the cave dwellers themselves which I enjoyed😁 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️

A simply wonderful story, loved this story totally riveting read
I read the previous book in this series and I loved this book it was a riveting read where I was totally entranced by Avalanche who had come to the Cave Dwellers in effort to rescue Ashlyn and return her to the dragons that lived above land and yet he was risking his life on her behalf to save her from the prince who was determined to win her as Mate.
After Ashlyn and Avalanche had been so close to making their escape from the Cave Dwellers and unfortunately, they had been forced back into the caves and now Avalanche was fighting to keep her safe unfortunately his life was on the line and he knew that he would do what ever it takes to keep him safe so that he could continue ion the tournament.
Ashlyn was becoming more and more enticed by the dragon that had come to her assistance she could not believe that he had chopped off his wings to enable him to be able to enter the caves on the cave dwellers so that he would not get stuck, he had warned her to that she night have to chop of the new wings I they begin to grow, if only the elves had not arrived, they would then have been able to have got away and probably made it back to the Air Dragons lair.
As the story continues Ashlyn is able to see how sweet and loyal Ashlyn was and could not help but feel a tremendous attraction to Avalanche and now, she knows that she also feels attracted to each of his wonderful, honest attributes.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Dragon Avalanche is the third sexy book in the Air Dragon series. The story revolves around shifters who meet the one and their lives are changed forever. But there are dramas along the way. That's when the fun begins.

While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters are fun and loving and dictated by their rules, but what they discover more than they ever imagined.

Strong, sexy alpha males!

A dragon shifter series set in the same world as the bestselling Bride Hunt books

Avalanche finds himself in the deep, dark recesses of the earth. It’s nothing like he ever imagined it would be. All he needs to do is to survive long enough to win the prize.

No cheating! Contains mature themes/language.

𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄

Will his presence be enough to save her from a drab future…

The previous book set this book’s action.
Ashley has been abducted by a forgotten dragon species, one who is not civilized like the other tribes. And she is asked to “choose” a mate as like the other paranormals they struggle to reproduce.
But between having her pick of the males or being the winner’s prize in a fight between them all, no thanks. But these dragons are quite deaf to her plight to let her go.
Until a dragon from the outside lairs shows up and offer to rescue her.
Of course nothing goes as planned.
Yet during their short shared span of time something burgeon between them, up to them to survive and escape to maybe explore it.
Ashley is no weak woman, she might be limited by her human body, yet she does not it crush her, she has spirit and temper, taking everything thrown at her with resilience.
Avalanche is a “man” of honor, from the moment he learned of this abducted woman, he has been determined to save her, as no one should be enslaved. And he will do it whatever the cost.

A fun action filled story with two stubborn characters, a whole new cast of protagonists and a promise of many more adventures.

I have loved Hartnady’s Bride Hunt series since the beginning. This is another installment of her elemental series that focuses on a specific dragon tribe; this series is about the air dragons. At the end of Dragon Hunter we found “Fog” and “Avalanche” entering the caves to rescue Ashley. Avalanche knocked out Fog and descended into the caves himself to find Ashley and bring her home.

All of Hartnady’s books are light-hearted romantic paranormal love stories. Personally, I like that. Not that I won’t read a dark romance book, but I do tend to prefer my romance light. Hartnady delivers here. Since I have read the whole Bride Hunt series, and the sequel series, the world building is well fleshed out. I liked these two main characters together. I loved that Ashley was, for the most part, pretty pragmatic about the circumstances she found herself in. I mean, given her circumstances, she’s certainly entitled to breaking down onece in a while and having some very illogical thoughts. But I thought she and Avalanche were well suited.

Hartnady seems to be setting the stage for a war, that appears to be all but inevitable between the goblins and the dragons. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, and do recommend this book. Especially if you’re a fan of her other works.

Loved Avalanche so much!!

This book was damn good! I could not put it down and it grabbed me from beginning to end! I am loving where the series is going and cannot wait how it will end.

Character breakdown;

Avalanche: from the moment I met him in book one of the series I knew he was going to be a favorite and I was proven right! I loved how he was in this book, the grumpiness, the food loving side and the way he plotted and planned things out. Avalanche was an impressive dragon male.

Ashlyn: And she does not fall far behind. I loved that she stood her ground and fought for herself. I like that she took no bs and gave everyone a run for their money. I especially liked how she seemed like the right fit for Avalanche, she was one of my favorite females thus far.

Favorite quote: “You’re bossy, Avalanche. It might be something we need to work on,”
“You don’t listen too good…we’re definitely going to have to work on that. I think I’d like a taste after all.”

I am dying to see where the author will take this series and all the players involved. Things are getting tense so I am curious where it will go. I can’t predict it but I really want to know more about the “cave dwellers”. I also like to know ,ore about Fridd, Lina and yes even Puk. (Maybe not too much him.)
Things are heating up and Definitely pick up this book. 10/10 recommend!

Ashlyn & Avalanche

*I received a copy for an honest review*
***mild spoilers included***

While I overall enjoyed the story, I did not like the ending. I've read all of Hartnady's books except the demon chaser series and her new collaboration series and I don't remember her ever ending on such a blatant cliffhanger. And there was no sexy times until 47%! I would have stopped reading if it wasn't an author I was familiar with and trusted to get to the goody goody stuff. That critique aside, Avalanche was just as delicious as I thought he was going to be! Ashlyn was a great female counterpart but I did wonder how she could be friends with Riley (who i still don't like!). In the end, this book wasn't my favorite (I just didn't like the cave dwelling dragons and how they talked or the goblins) but didn't deter me from reading more by Hartnady. Also, as usual, I highly recommend newbies to read everything else she's written (in order folks!!!) because her supernaturals are fantastic.

Ashlyn & Avalanche

This book tells Ash's story from her perspective. In the last book, we got Ashlyn & her bestie Riley's story from Riley's perspective. Riley escaped the cave dwellers while Ashlyn was left behind.

Enter Avalanche, who decides that he's going to be a one man rescue operation.

On the plus side, it was interesting to learn more about the cave dwellers, but Avalanche is a bit of a meathead, definitely not the sensitive one. Which we're supposed to understand because he was orphaned at a young age.

I thought the sex/bjs to heal was silly and didn't really buy the chemistry between these two. Which consisted mostly of Ashlyn servicing a very injured Avalanche, while Avalanche insists that he's going to rock her world eventually. But, then that opportunity comes, and he's like, nah, go home. Of course, there's a HEA...kinda, but there's trouble brewing with a possible war just around the corner.

Wow!!

This series is getting more and more interesting and a page turner. Now that war is coming I wander if the dragons will give a helping hand to the cave dwellers, seeing that they are more likely the target that the Goblins are after, or maybe it's the dragon themselves.. Anyway I hope things work out for the cave dwellers, they are barbaric and not too smart but they don't deserve to be extinct because the Goblins are greedy for Gold. And who says they will stop with the cave dwellers, they may go after the dragons too. Well only time will tell and Avalanche finally came to his senses, when are these dragons going to learn once they interact with a human they are hook for life. Can't wait to see what happens next and who is this Dragon Overlord, really looking forward to the new next book in this series...big fan as always Winzie19 🤗💞.

The third in this great series & has a really good storyline.
Avalanche goes into the caves of the underground dwellers to try to rescue Ashlyn who was kidnapped in the previous book. In order to get there he has to cut off his wings to fit through the narrow entrance.
Ashlyn has been held captive & is told she must choose a male to mate but it’s the Prince who wants her so he decrees a tournament where he will fight the winner for the right to mate her. Ashlyn was previously unaware of dragons or any supernatural beings & now she is forced to face the reality.
There is great chemistry between these two & I’m not giving any spoilers as you will enjoy this fast paced book.
Yet another winner in this Air Dragons series!

Sooo sooo good!!!

I really really loved Avalanche and Ashlyn’s book!!! They were both so tough and perfect for each other. They went through so much to be together that I couldn’t wait for it in the end! The cave dragons are very interesting! I loved Lina. I can’t wait for more on them!!! I don’t like these goblins at all, but war is definitely on the horizon for all the dragons, whether they realize it or not! I am so excited for more and the next Air Dragons book!! Things are progressing and the dragons must be ready for anything! Love this world, book, series, and characters sooo sooooo sooooo much!

Intense and Thrilling

Ashlyn and Avalanche is really a great story. It has mystery, romance, and excitement. I think getting to get a better look at the fifth tribe was good, I can’t t wait to read more about them as well. Ashlyn and Avalanche endured a lot to find themselves together and now with the threat of the goblins coming this series has gotten even more intense. I appreciate that Charlene’s HEA are not so instantaneous, but they come with a lot of work and leave you wondering what’s next. I really enjoyed both the main characters Ashlyn’s fiery attitude and Avalanches limitless bravery. I am so happy they get together and can’t wait to see who’s up next.

dragon saves damsel

Loved this story. We are introduced to the cave dragons more intimately. While brutish they do have honor. Our hero, goes to save the human female, tries to escape but get caught in a goblin skirmish, and gets swept up in the competition to win the human. He actually make a sort of friend and learns he begins to have feelings for the female. They work together to escape and maybe if they are lucky they will recognize what they are to each other. Great follow up to the series. I am looking forward to the next book and if war is really coming. Will the cave dragons team up with the surface dwellers. We shall see.

Well this was brilliant!! I loved seeing more of the cave dragons, this time close up not just a brief passing and the addition of new enemies makes for exciting times ahead.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of both in future stories!
Avalanche was swoon worthy, I've always loved the strong alpha broody male thing and in previous books he's had that in spades, so i knew i was going to love him!! At one point i did want to smack him, but he pulled it back in the end.

Here and there

This book is all over the place, plot wise. Poor Ashlyn was abducted by dragons, then they're fighting over her. She finally gets out, and goblins come after her. Then she has conflict with Avalanche, who did his best to rescue her.

The conflict with Avalanche made no sense. Ashlyn was abducted from home--but he thinks she'll be safe there? It's also a little maddening not knowing what the kings are up to.

These guys get together at the end, but it still kind of feels like a cliffhanger.

Exiting story. Finally getting a look into the cave dwellers. It's different it makes you wonder. New species are coming into play. Throughout the whole story it stays interesting. I would want to know so much more. This book suprice me. I am so curious what will come next. Will we know more about the cave dweller? Do they get their story? I hope so. I think that could become amazing with humor and action.

Rescue mission to bring Ashlyn home

This book was amazing!!! Charlene Hartnady is an awesome author, her stories are highly entertaining. I highly recommend this read. Avalanche goes to save the human, Ashlyn, that was kidnapped by the cave dwellers. He learns alot during his stay with them, which he plans to report back if he can rescue the female. He won't leave without her. Well worth the read!!

I couldn't wait to read Avalanche's story, and it didn't dissapoint. Avalanche is a big, strong dragon shifter. He is risking his life to save Ashlyn who was abducted by the cave dwelling dragons. Ashlyn is brave in spite of being a human surrounded by shifters. It doesn't stop her from sticking up for herself. Their story is steamy and a great read. I hope there I another series with some of the new characters from this book.

Warning ⚠️: part of a series, standalone, fantasy, shifters, dragons.

Narrator score🎧 ; the narrator was good. He had a very nice voice and his acting skills are nice.

Level of steam🔥: the book was 3 out of 5 in the pepper sauce department.

Level of anxiety and sadness 😱😢: it wasn't sad at all.

The book itself📖: the book was kinda nice, but nothing more that than happened. So yeah a nice story.

Loved this Book

I enjoyed a different twist on the story. It was great to get a better look at the dragon world and other lifestyles in the ever expanding dragon world. I thought I had seen and read it all from literally every perspective that it became predictable. This book was an enlightening change. I enjoyed the characters and the story so much.

I LOVE Avalanche and Ashlyn's story! I love the introduction of new species and the interaction between them! I love the development of Avalanche and Ashlyn's relationship. It is part necessity and part circumstance, but the way things start aren't always the way they end! I cannot wait to see where Charlene is headed with this world and this series!

I’m gonna read Charlene’s books no matter what cause she writes the perfect easy, simple, little stories.

That being said not all are a win. Most are solid 3 stars and that’s great cause it was what I was looking for.

This one was almost good enough but a good pass time nonetheless.

3 1 / 2 star rating ( I round up ) Avalanche was kinda a jerk, so I wasn't impressed or interested. I kept reading bc I really like the world the author created. Not so thrilled with the whole "humans are not worth dragon's" attitude from the Dragon that has a human mate (really?). Then the ending was anticlimactic. Puk was an ass but not evil...? whatever.
