Win A Date With Trouble, Book 10 in Cocker Brothers, Gabriel Cocker:
My publicist dreamed up this contest promoting my world tour. It's me, plus one lucky fan, on a dinner date, alone. I want out...until my limo pulls up to a beautiful bird in a lavender dress and nude heels. Something clicks inside me that I'm not at all ready for. But what's worse? My cousin, Ben, saw her first.

Title: Cocky Rockstar: Gabriel Series: Cocker Brothers of Atlanta #10 Author: Faleena Hopkins
➦It’s pretty obvious that I just can't get enough of the Cocker's family, I am now on the second generation – Gabriel is son of Justin & Jamie-in Cocky Senator
➦This one will hook in right from the being and keep you entangled until you get the straight and narrow of the whole story and be sure to start reading early Cuz you won't want to put this one down until it is done.
➦Paige What's a girl to do it? It’s not bad enough that she has to deal with the fact that she has a brother that has a gambling addiction every time she turns around it's one thing or another she's 2 months behind on her rent due to her brother.
Paige is late for work & her brother is driving her. They get sideswiped by another.. Cops show up & she's almost arrested for a hit-and-run that's when she meets her first Cocker( Ben) . She gets to work & her best friend & co-worker signs her up for a contest to meet a singer on a blind date that's where she meets Cocker number two(Gabriel) . Lucky for her no Cocker really has ever had this problem before a fighting over one female. She's caught in between the two cousins
➦Gabriel, Keep in mind he is the son of son of former senator, Justin Cocker & twin brother of Elijah. If that’s not enough for you he is a rockstar & is arrogant as all the Cocker males in his family.
Gabriel is only in Atlanta for few days before going on tour overseas. In that short amount of time he has managed to get into so much trouble..
➦I would love to tell you more, but where the fun in that? You really need to read this one to fully enjoy the love triangle.. Oops I meant experience
Great storytelling, interesting plot, characters whose chemistry is incendiary! The pace of the story moved fast without feeling rushed at all which is no small feat. Thankfully this isn’t typical rockstar book.. loaded with nothing but drugs & alcohol
➦I am somewhat worried about how Faleena Hopkins is going to write Ben Cocker (Jaxson's son) story about him & his now wife’s story
➦I can’t wait to see who book is next? Emma? Eric? The list is long, since there are 17 men & women in this next generation of Cocker’s & this is only book 3# of the offspring brothers
➦Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion
➦**"I voluntarily reviewed this ARC" ..** .**In exchange for an honest review.**
Unfortunately this book wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I'm just glad I got this book for free. I'm not sure I will be reading the rest of this series, though I did read it out of order because it was free.
*Sigh* I'm not even sure what to say here. Wasn't a fan of the situation between Gabriel and Ben. One thing I like about this whole series is that closeness of the family. And didn't care for Paige. Her character just didn't do it for me. But I can definitely say I'm ready for Ben's story.
Oh my gosh another great book in the Crocker Brothers Series. The Crocker men are known for their confidence and arrogance but also their fierce loyalty and love towards their large tight-knit family. Oh I loved the twist of discord with the two cousins in this book between Gabriel and Ben. I’m didn’t know how that would play out with a happy ending. I absolutely love the second generation of the Crocker clan.
Gabriel is the son of Justin and Jaimie in the Cocky Senator. He also the twin brother of Elijah. He is misunderstood and lonely, even with him all over the place doing concerts and writing music 🎶. He loves his lifestyle and being onstage. He feels separated from his family and most of all his best friend and twin Elijah. Gabriel has no interest in settling down with having a different women when ever he wants. Now his publicist sets him up with a date that has won a date with him through a radio contest. What he doesn’t realize is that she is love of his life. The winner is Paige, a Yoga instructor that is dealing bf with overwhelming family issues.
Paige Miller is a Yoga instructor that wins a radio contest that’s she hates. Her mother is a recovering gambler and her brother Bobby is a gambler addict and he’s causing her more problems than she expected from him. Her family drama is more than enough for one person to deal with. To say she is struggling would be an understatement. Now she has to deal with Gabriel and Ben’s drama that they bring into her life. The best part of this book is how they bring out the best in each other. She wins the contest but when she meets Gabriel, she just bites her bottom lip like she wants to run. What an extraordinary and wonderfully written book of the journey of Gabriel and Paige.
Book 7 - A Honey Badger’s Xmas Honey Badger and Margaret Book 8 - Cocky Senator’s Daughter Hanna and Tobias Book 9 - A Cocky Genius Ethan Crocker Ethan & Charlie Book 10 - Cocky Rockstar Gabriel Crocker Gabriel and Paige
Shelby:
Shelby shouts, “Hey, Listen!” She’s pointing at the radio, her cell phone pressed tightly against her ear. The DJ says, “Hello! Tell me your name!” Shelby says, “This is Paige Miller calling!”
My jaw drops. “Well, Paige Miller, can you guess what caller you are?” Shelby asks, “The eleventh one?” He does a dramatic pause and bellows, “That’s right! You’re the eleventh caller, Paige! You’ve won a date with Gabriel Cocker, plus two tickets to his concert this Friday night!”
Maggie:
Gingerly holding her mangled addiction as her purse strap threatens to bend her forearm in half, Maggie reaches for the doorknob. “Because you like the abuse? And no other publicist is as good as I am? Either one works. Your date is this Thursday, that’s two days from now. Since I know you won’t choose a restaurant on your own or actually show up unless I make you, I’ve already reserved the best table at Rays on The River, and a car will arrive here at 7:30 P.M sharp to drag you there.” “Will I even be awake by then?” I dryly ask her. She cocks her head. “Elijah got you in a mood didn’t he.” “No shit.” “Try to be nice to the poor girl, bless her innocent fangirl heart.” My shoulders slump as I push off the counter and head for my couch. “You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me. You didn’t set me up with a virgin, did you?” “Oh my God!” Maggie explodes. “First of all, I’m your publicist, not your pimp! Second, you should be a gentleman and not even care!” We stare at each other until she starts smiling. “Right, there are no gentlemen present, what was I thinking?” “Unless you look in the mirror, muff-diver.” “I resemble that remark.”
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, Cocky Rockstar: Gabriel.
This is book 3 of the offspring of the Cocker Brothers, but it is also book 10 of the full Cocker Brothers series. Each one is wonderfully unique but also shares facts and characters from other books in the series. It is truly one of the best series I've EVER read!! Faleena Hopkins is one of the most gifted authors whose books I've ever read! Each book is a standalone, but much better if read in order, and each has a HEA. Don't deprive yourself the joy and delight of reading these, and all the other, wonderful books written by Faleena.
Gabriel, a rockstar, is the son of former senator, Justin Cocker and twin brother of Elijah. He loves the rockstar life: partying, sex with a different woman almost every night, sharing his music with the world. Settling down and having a family of his own, the furthest thing from his mind. Then his publicist sets him up with a date that was won by a lucky lady through a radio contest. The winner is Paige, a yoga instructor, that is dealing with some pretty overwhelming family issues. Her brother, Bobby is an out of control, gambler that is taking Paige down with him. The same day that Paige meets Gabriel, she is involved in a fender bender with his cousin, Ben. Well, Ben is quite taken with Paige when he meets her. When Gabriel meets Paige and is taken with her himself, he is not happy about the overwhelming attraction or about Ben's interest in Paige. Gabriel desperately fighting his feelings for Paige screws up big time before leaving town without attempting to contact her. When things worsen with Bobby, Paige turns to Ben for help. Will Gabriel figure things out before it's too late for him and Paige? Has he lost her to Ben? When Justin gets dragged into Paige's family disaster will he cause serious problems for her in the future?
I really enjoyed Gabriel, but Paige is my favorite character. I liked that they were attracted to each other, but mad and or worried about the situation(s) around their first date. I love that they snark at each other, but not in a mean or hurtful way. Paige is loving and level headed while feeling like she is drowning and out of control. She is insightful and honest without being mean. Even the couple times when she was harsh, she was just telling the truth, but not trying to be hurtful.
The situation regarding Paige's brother puts stress on her life and her relationships with others. It is sad seeing everything that happens, but tough love can be a good thing. Then throw in the tension with Ben when it comes to both Paige and Gabriel and things really get going. For all the problems though, our main characters hold on to what they want and don't let go.
I really loved when Gabriel finally came to his senses and asked how he felt about Paige. Paige was very blunt with Ben about how she felt about him and I'm happy that she took the risk and went with her heart.
This is a great book with wonderful characters. I highly recommend that you give this book and the rest of the series a read.
Gosh, 10 books. Where did the time go? GO FALEENA GO!! Will there be more? I love this Cocker Family ... they are tight knit, loving at times, always have each others backs and aww man, I gotta love them all!! Can you pick a fave?
Okay ... I have loved this series from the beginning ... but I gotta say .. for me not one of the books can stand up to this book ... they are all great books, not that the writing is any different but there is just something for me personally that makes this book just pop more? I love Gabriel. Those dreamy eyes ... I feel is misunderstood by his family and friends. You just wanna grab him and hug him ... a black sheep of the family I guess you could say ... that totally pulls on my heartstrings ... I love him ... 'nough said ... But wait ... I am recalling a few of my most favorites from this series ... Cocky Solider, Cocky Roomie ... that was the 1st ... and boy does it have a BANG to this start beginning and end!! THANK YOU!!! That is the book that got me to loving Faleena's writing style .. and don't forget it Cocky Biker ... but sorry other boys ... Gabriel is my fave ... you are pushed on down ... he stands on top. Go ahead this baby .... & then tell me what you think!! SOLD. LOVED IT. Read it. YOU will not regret that pick! ( ;
I just can't get enough of the Cocker's!!! Paige and Gabriel are perfect for each other! they balance each other out really well. I wasn't sure how it'd all turn out with Ben in the picture, but I loved the way it played out. I can't wait to read more, especially Ben's story!!
This was a cute story, but it's not for me. Insta-love, silly, and no substance or depth. It's ok for a quick read since its so short, but I like a little more in my books.
WOO WOO!!! Gabriel and Paige!, May 22, 2017 By Angela
This review is from: Cocky Rockstar: Gabriel (Cocker Brothers of Georgia) (Volume 10) (Paperback) A great story!! Thank you Faleena for another wonderful Cocker story!! If you've ready any of the Cocker series, this one is probably the most light hearted and tender ones besides Cocky Romantic. Gabriel Cocker, the son of the Cocky Senator, is a misunderstood and lonely young man who thinks that he is the black sheep of the family. He is the one who is traipsing all over the world doing concerts and writing new music, but is very alone. He loves the lifestyle and the glory of the stage, but feels somewhat separated from the rest of the group and especially his best friend, his twin Elijah. Gabriel has to go out on a date with the winner of a call in radio promotional. What he doesn't realize is that the winner is going to be the girl of his dreams. He's so much like his father, thinking that he doesn't need a constant in his life, in the shape of a woman. He doesn't even want to go on this date, until he sees her, so different than anyone he has every met. Paige, a very grounded yoga instructor who has seen her fair share of problems and disappointments in her life and has grown from it into this young girl who wants more out of life for herself. She's quiet and down to earth which is something that Gabriel has never met before. She's dressed for the date conservatively, which is not the usual for him to see, and what he can't quite understand is that she's not climbing all over him. The love blooms early and the beauty that surrounds their honest and immediate attraction is so heartwarming, pure and wonderful that it melts your heart. Out of all the cousins thus far, Gabriel appeared to be the most hardened about relationships, but once his heart couldn't stand it anymore, he allowed himself to grow in a love with Paige. They are somewhat the same, but a lot different which makes this story even more special. What he needs, she gives him and him to her. This story will have you not wanting to put the book down. Once you start, you will want to read until the end and then you will want to read it again. I loved this story and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants their heart warmed and their soul lighting up to rekindle your own love. This story lends the idea that even in the busiest of worlds, their is time for love and good relationships, if it's meant to be and if you want it bad enough!! I read this voluntarily as an ARC for an honest review. You cant go wrong with Faleena and the Cocker's of Atlanta!!!
What happens when you win a contest you didn't even want to enter? Once again Faleena Hopkins has written an outstanding story. One that songs could be written about. When I read her stories I feel like I am reading about people I know and care about. She has a way of drawing you into the story without even realizing it. I enjoyed Paige and Gabriel's story because it wasn't all gooey sweetness. It felt like real life. In life things are not always what they seem and that is definitely the case of Paige's life. In Gabriel's case sometimes you have to do things you don't really want to. Things do not go quite as planned right from the beginning and that is when trouble starts. Paige and Gabriel play off of each other in a smart alecky way that is never hurtful but shows how much they get each other. Paige is put in a situation that she didn't want to be in and it gets even stranger when Ben shows up but she shows she can hold her own. Two alpha males, what is a girl to do? This isn't a story just about Paige and Gabriel though, we meet their family and friends and see how they are all connected. Faleena's style of writing is so smooth that even with all the side stories it is all integrated in a natural way. She invites you into the family from the first page, you can't help but care about them all. If you are protective of and believe in standing by family even when you don't see eye to eye then you will fall in love with the Cocker family. I wasn't sure where Gabriel and Ben's relationship was going to end up, but family is family. Every book in this series has been such an enjoyable read that I wished the stories would just keep going on. That is my only complaint - the story ends too quickly! A benefit of this series is that you don't have to read them in any order. So if you found this book before reading any of the others start reading now and you will be hooked.
A highly entertaining romantic story that lures you into the lives of the characters with the dynamic plot, a bit of family drama, action, humor, heart-rending moments, and sensuous passionate romance. There is a fabulous happy ever after but not until each hurdle is conquered.
Rockstar Gabriel is gorgeous, his bewitching eyes hold you captive and women fight for his attention. Paige is a beauty, sassy, intelligent and has a gift for calming situations. Gabriel believes he is not ready to take true love's tumble, but when he meets Paige the first time his heart betrays his brain. His cousin Ben wants Paige too; Gabriel has to come to terms with his true feelings to win the heart of Paige before Ben wins it.
A captivating read that keeps hooked until the conclusion. The author has weaved a fantastic story with a bit of reality and fantasy making this a quite enjoyable read. The characters spring to life with clever dialogue and dazzling breathtaking scene descriptions. Paige's back story gives you insight into her persona that warrants your respect. The romance between Gabriel and Paige is genuine and is filled with much fun and devotion. I love how close Gabriel's family is and I also loved reading how Gabriel came to terms with his true feelings. If you treasure sizzling romances this is a terrific book for your library. I adored this story so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.
Oh these Cocker books just keep getting better! In the latest book, we learn more about rockstar Gabriel (one of the twins of the twins haha - his dad is former Senator Justin, brother to Hannah) and yoga instructor Paige. I loved this take on a rockstar romance. It wasn't all parties and drugs and sex, which was a nice change! I think a bit part of Gabriel staying grounded was due to his family upbringing and their closeness, though don't get me wrong - he was still all ego and cocky like a rockstar! Paige is so sweet and dealing with a mountain of her own family issues with her brother's addiction. It was fun to read about how these two worlds collided from a "win a date contest" that Paige's friend actually won, but gave Paige's name for.
We also get to learn more about Ben (Jaxson's son) in this story, and yes - it does involve a bit of a love triangle with the cousins. It was nice to see the "realness" of this Cocker family and it's drama, and as much as they all love their family, sometimes things get in the way of that. Plus a little bit of history from the original Cocker twins (Justin and Jason, now dads and uncles, to the current Cocker generation) comes back to the surface.
This book was another great addition to the Cocker Brothers of Atlanta series, and it will take you on a bit of an emotional journey to get through it all. But as always, it was another hit from Faleena! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC and I just love this series. Who will be next?! Emma? Eric? Will we learn more about Ben's story? Anxiously waiting for the next one...
I love this Cocker family and now that we’re reading about the cousins (the children of the original 6 Cocker Brothers of Atlanta), the possibilities are endless.
The Cocker men are known for their confidence and arrogance, but also for their fierce loyalty and love towards their large tight-knit family.
This book is the first time I remember reading any long-lasting discord between two members of the Cocker family and it was really interesting to see how it played out within the group of close cousins. These guys are notorious for teasing and giving each other trouble, but they’ve always had each other’s backs. I guess though, that there’s never been a girl between two of them before. The Cockers don’t hold back in any part of their lives and fighting for a woman they think is theirs, really brought out the stubborn, alpha male in both Gabriel and Ben.
Sweet Paige has enough of her own problems without having two gorgeous Cocker men fighting over her, but will one of them end up being her forever one?
Grab some of Grandma Cocker’s homemade ginger ale and settle in to enjoy another fabulous installment in the Cocker Family series. It’s filled with laughs, love, steamy and swoony romance, tears, tough choices and my favourite Atlanta family!
Standalone within a series. HEA. No cliffhanger. As always – the best epilogues and the best family BBQs! :)
Cocky Rockstar by Faleena Hopkins is book number 10 in the Crocker Brothers series and I seriously can't get enough of this awesome family.
WIN A DATE WITH A ROCKSTAR!!! What are the odds for Paige. Apparently really good since her best friend won and pretended to be her. Now she gets to meet the imfamous Gabriel Crocker, who is by far the definition of the typical rockstar. After the day from hell, Paige is really not looking forward to her date. But she sucks it up and winds up having a decent time... but who can blame her when she has two Crocker boys fighting for her attention. (Yeah you read that right.. 2...) Having enough of his cousin crashing his date, Gabriel grabs Paige and runs from the restaurant.. which leads to a hot round of sexy time in the back of a limo. But what happens when Paige misunderstands what she sees in his dressing room the next day? How long will it take for Gabriel to come to terms with the fact he needs Paige in his life? Or is he too late, and his actions cause him to lose her forever to his cousin?
Gabriel's story was incredible. Each one of the second generation Cocker books makes you excited for the next. Gabriel was a rockstar, on top of the world, getting laid without having to do anything. He believed that he was never supposed to settle down, that he had ladies everywhere. Until Paige came into the picture, but Gabriel still tried to deny what he felt. We got to see abit of Ben in this book too. I can't to be able to read Ben's story. While reading this book you want to tell Paige to stop letting her brother walk all over her or to tell Gabriel and Ben to stop acting juvenile. This book is amazing and they are only getting better as they go. I can't wait to see who the next Cocker book will be about. I really recommend that you give this book a chance, it can be read as a stand alone, but if you start at the beginning you will get a better view of the family. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Readers Copy of this book
I will be honest, I am not usually one for stories where the main characters are actors/musicians but this being a Cocker story I had to read it (yes, I have read and loved them all). Cocky definitely described Gabriel. I liked how he grew emotionally as the story progressed. Paige is just trying to help her brother and gets bit in the ass at every turn and it takes her a while to realize you cannot help those who do not seek it. A very emotional story, as with most of Ms. Hopkins’ stories. The standout scene for me was Justin and Jason’s talk – very touching and beautiful.
A side note, Ben was a bit much at times in the story but he deserves a fabulous love story….
I voluntarily received an ARC for an honest review. I can't help loving rock star romances, so naturally I love Gabriel! Holy Hotness!! My stomach was in knots while their story played out!! I loved how he meets Paige, and how intense their meeting is. Her personality is so perfect for this book. I was laughing and cringing through their first date!! I love how the women in the Cocker's lives are so awesome!! Faleena really makes her characters come alive in these books, so much so that by this point in the series you feel like you know the family personally. Not many authors are able to pull this off so well. Great addition to the series. I have loved every book and can't wait to find out who's story is next!!
I keep repeating myself over and over with my Faleena Hopkins reviews, but I can't help it! This series keeps getting better and better!
Gabriel... oh he was flawed, so flawed and I LOVED that! In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I liked him or not, and then the more of him that was revealed, the more I could understand him and his behavior. I really enjoyed how the author made him as real as can be in this fantasy rockstar world.
Paige is a great match for him, and her relationship with her brother had me in tears. As someone who also has a family member with an addiction, it really is a struggle to do the right thing for them... And for yourself.
Read this series. Start at the beginning if you can, you won't regret it!
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this title
I love this family. When you meet Gabriel it is a wonder there is any girl out there that would put up with hm on a regular basis. But then their is Paige. Not exactly love at first site, but the chemistry is amazing. I was surprised at the twists and turns in the book and the friction that came between the cousins, but it lent to the wonderful relationships that is the Cocker family. They are all great at what ever they choose to do with their lives, but we start to see the faults and the friction between everyone which makes the characters so real. Gabriel and Paige are amazing together, it was an up hill battle for their relationships, and it caused heart ache and anger that opens people up to their feelings. Great story, cant wait for more
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I don't know who I love more, the Cocker family or Faleena Hopkins. How does she do it? How does she write such amazing stories? If you haven't read any of the Cocker Brothers books ..... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? Get busy. You will fall in love. Each member of the family has his or her own story. They are stand alone but I would recommend reading the brothers books before their kids (cousins books).
This family is absolutely incredible. I didn't know how I was gonna feel about Gabriel at the beginning. But of course I ended up falling in love with him and Paige. As always I can't wait for the next book.
Thank you again Faleena for yet another amazing book.
Once again my girl Faleena has hit it out of the park! I loved this book! I'm going to say that I think this is my favorite of all the cocky kids books. Gabriel is an interesting character. He is much deeper than one would think a rockstar is. And I LOVE Paige and her sense of humor. I love the way she's sarcastic and can give Gabriel the business while still showing her love for him. I love the love at first sight idea! When he said to Paige on their first date that this isn't supposed to happen yet, I just knew that I'd love this story. He tried to fight it, but you know those Cockers. If you haven't read this entire series, I ask you WHY.!?! Go now and start from the beginning. Trust me, you won't regret it!
Faleena Hopkins has done it again! Another great book. Still not sure if I like this one better than the last one because the last song was pretty freaking good. But in this story Mr. Gabriel is a full of himself rockstar. Paige wins a date with Gabriel and on the day of the day is in that car accident that is caused by his cousin Ben. And so begins the war. This book was funny and sarcastic. The chemistry between Gabriel and Paige was erotic. I love the strong bond between the two twins Gabriel and Elijah. This book was fast paced extremely fun and fantastic. Can't wait for the next family member story!
Well, Faleena does it again, I can see her heart showing clearly throughout the book. BUT, I'm going to throw a different spin on this review, the book made me SAD. Several of this series have. Its sad to have to vicariously view a world of a loving, wonderful, strong, supportive family when you have none, yourself. I'm sure Im not the only one from a dysfunctional family, though. I enjoy the series, and the personalities are each so multi-dimensional , storylines never disappoint, - they are truly a labor of Faleena's love, BUT they are quite bittersweet to me. That said, I still buy them all ;-) AND give them five stars.
I am not really a fan of love triangles but this one was very mild. I enjoyed this story even though I wasn't the biggest fan of Gabriel in the beginning. I liked Paige. I understood her confusion with her feelings for Ben. She wanted to like him, he was a good man, the safe choice. But in the end the heart wants what the heart wants and it belonged to Gabriel. I wanted Gabriel to pull his head out of his ass, he knew he had a good thing with Paige but took a while to really understand that. I do wish Paige made him grovel a bit more to wi her back. Other then that it was a very enjoyable read for me!
OH MY GOD I LOVED IT! This may now be my favorite, I loved the little bit of Ben we saw but I really love Gabriel. His struggle with finding the one and working through his struggle of being a twin and in a large family, yet still feeling alone was captivating I could not put the book down. Faleena draws you in to the family deeper and deeper with each book. Gabriel has met his match with Paige and she really does fit in with the family. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
The premise isn't all that different but the writing is excellent. Each character is rich and full. It's probably done so the characters are interesting enough to carry to other series and it works. There isn't a lot of unnecessary dialog but the words in each chapter seem to properly the story forward with clarity and interest. This was my first of this author but not the last. I think I have a new "go to" author!!!
Gabriel is a rock star. Paige is a yoga instructor. Her brother is an addicted gambler. Her mom is a recovering gambler. Can the famous Cocker family handle Paige's family ? Will Gabriel be the good son or follow his heart. Love these Cocker books by Faleena!!
Love this series! All the Cocker books are 5 Star Reads.Voluntarily Read this book as an ARC for an honest review! I think this is my favorite out of the Cocker books so far. I love all the Cocker family. Their banter back and forth and the love they have for each other is amazing and makes for an awesome book world.
