Posers gonna pose

I am a man who had nothing, but found everything.

I’ll never go back to nothing ever again.

I vowed to protect her, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.

The pictures I stumbled upon haunt me still, the secret I shoulder is heavy.

They say secrets put distance between two people, but the truth is far more destructive than keeping it will ever be.

I won’t ever tell. She can’t ever know.

When I look in the mirror my reflection is of who I’m afraid I’ll become and not the man I am.

It makes me feel like a poser, no better than all the others pretending to be exactly who they aren’t.

How does a man keep it together when everything is unraveling right here in his hands?

I didn’t start any of this.

I never asked for it.

But it came knocking at my door.

When secrets and threats knock, I don’t hide.

I open the door.

Because the best way to take down a poser is to be one.

#ZACH IS BACK

on another note, I can't wait for another Braeden and Ivy book! I honestly love these two more than Rimmel and Romeo

Update: Read on 19 August, 2015

Ratings: 3.5 - 3.75 / 5 stars

I’m honestly conflicted on rating this book, because on one hand, I like it, but on another hand, there’s a lot of things that occurred in this book that managed to leave me annoyed, pissed off, or utterly confused.

This book was over the top, slightly all over the place, and half the scenes that happened were probably unnecessary and could have been shorter—but I liked it for the most part?
I mean, don’t get me wrong, this book put a new meaning to the term ”over the top, to the point where I was rolling my eyes and annoyed with how certain scenarios played out.

For some reason, a part of me couldn’t get into this book as much as I did with the last one. Ms. Hebert needs to tone it down on melodramatic scenes, because what ruined me for Romeo & Rimmel was how dramatic and insane all of book 2 ( #hater) and book 3 ( #player) was, to the point where it got too cartoony, unrealistic, and had me eye-rolling at how, well, over the top it was. And this book, while it was very over the top , it wasn’t as crazy as what happened to Romeo & Rimmel. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I do think what happened in the book was batshit crazy—but I spent most of the time baffled and utterly confused as to Zach’s reasoning for tormenting Romeo, Rimmel, and Ivy? But that’s just me. I think the author should have avoided going into extreme depths when explaining the “fucked up reasonings behind why Zach is such an asshole.”

I think the focus on Zach as the villain for #Posers didn’t work out? (Yes, what he did was very wrong, very bad, and so unjustifiable and horrible that he'll never be able to redeem himself--but just because he had all the qualities and traits of a stereotypical villain didn't mean that he was the right villain for this book).
It should have been Missy or both of them should have had equal attention as the villains? In the end, I hated how Zach was still the villain while Missy got, well, the better end of how her character was treated?

I don’t know. All I know was that the "Zach is the big bad villain" shtick got old quick, especially back in Romeo & Rimmel’s book and I didn’t want any more Zach. Seriously. And you know what I got while reading #Poser? Lots of Zach; even point of views from him.

I don’t know what I expected from #Poser, but maybe it was probably because I wanted to see Braeden’s and Ivy’s relationship grow, and how affected it will become when Braeden’s secret (that has to do with Ivy) is brought out into the light. In that case, I thought that storyline was dragged a bit too long (just like a lot of storylines that happened overall in this book?) There were a lot of unnecessary drama that should have been cut out, because this book dragged. Which is why it's very disappointing, overall, because I was hoping for character growth, and growth between the two main characters. What we got instead was a plot-driven story, and a lack of character growth overall. It's quite a let-down from #Selfie.

I did like how things wrapped up at the end. The epilogue was cute. I thought their story ended there, but apparently there’s another book coming out. (Not sure if it's Ivy & Braeden's or not)

I don’t know how to feel about that at all. Stuck in the middle between yay or nay . Probably because this series is close to the point where the author’s going to end up “beating a dead horse”, if you know what I mean.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Seriously bored*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

The fifth book in the series, and we're back with Braeden ‘B’ James Walker (21) and sophomore Ivy Forrester. Braeden has a secret that might destroy his relationship and Ivy is struggling with what is real and not. Overall, I was completely bored and I skimmed to get the book over with. I only stopped skimming when Drew and Trent met, however, I was disappointed, I had expected more. Unfortunately, there's more books in the series and I am so damned bored. More skimming, I guess.
“You’re the only one who’s ever been in here. You’re the only one who’s ever had the most important part of me. You’re the one who turned a man who vowed to never love into one who loves completely.”
“How do you do that?” she whispered, not pulling her face away from mine.
“Do what?” I stroked the backs of my fingers across her cheek.
“Pull me back in the second I start to drift away?”
I smiled. “I told you I was dropping anchor.”
“Don’t ever let me go, Braeden.”
“Oh, baby.” I vowed, “Never.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (New Adult) Contemporary Romance.
Series: - Series, Book Five.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Roman ‘Romeo’ Anderson.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Probably not.
Will I read this again in the future? - No.
Rating - 1.5/2 stars.

4 Stars

This was the heaviest story in this series to date, especially in terms of some of the subject matter and the level of angst felt throughout. I’m certainly not complaining because I love some emotional oomph to my stories, and having spent so much time with these characters already, I feel I was ready for things to be taken to this next level.

Some of the major reveals from book four (#Selfie) lead to the keeping of some potentially game changing secrets here – secrets that could change the nature of Braeden and Ivy’s fairly new relationship should the truth come out. It was an interesting moral consideration, especially in terms of the information Braeden was keeping from Ivy and whether his decision to do so was the right choice in that given situation. Ultimately, I understood Braeden’s actions and reasoning for keeping what he knew to himself. I may not have made the same choices he did, but I got it – he was just trying to do what he thought was in Ivy’s best interest, to keep her safe as best he knew how, and I definitely can’t hate on him for that.

I liked where Ivy and Braeden (and Rimmel and Romeo) were at in their relationship(s) by the end of this story. The romantic relationships have been fun to watch unfold, but it’s the friendships made among these four key players that have been my most favourite part of the bigger story.

I also loved the introduction to Ivy’s brother Drew and I can’t wait to get to his GFY romance with series regular Trent. If I’m being honest, I only really picked this Hashtag series up because all my GR friends were praising Drew and Trent’s M/M spin off series (starting with #Junkie), and being a stickler for reading order I just had to go back to where it all begin for my own peace of mind. And boy am I glad I did! I’ve loved every minute of this series thus far and I can’t wait to see what comes next for all these now much loved characters.

This was a hard one to rate because I liked most of it but there were two parts that I could have done without so I just rated down the middle.

The first thing I could have done with out was Zach's POV chapters. Like no thank you? I don't want to see into his cray cray thoughts thank you very much. I'm just glad it was only a few and not through out the whole book.

But then there is my biggest issue with the book which is what really ruined my enjoyment of the story. Braeden's really freaking dumb decision to keep Ivy's assault from her really pissed me off. I don't care that you were trying to protect her, I don't care that you just love her sooooo much. IT WASN'T UP TO YOU, IT WASN'T ABOUT YOU!!! Ugh this was so hard to read because Ivy literally blamed herself for that night over and over again which was terrible and it could have been avoided if he'd just been freaking honest from the start. Also Ivy has nightmares and reactions to things that she doesn't understand and literally thinks she's going insane because she didn't remember what happened to her. IMO Braeden caused Ivy a shit ton a pain that he shouldn't have and she forgave him way to easily. Yeah I wasn't impressed with this part of the story at all.

And I didn't spoiler tag any of that because I really think this book should have a trigger warning in the blurb. There are definitely scenes that could upset people who have had to deal with assault of any kind.

Definitely not my favourite of the series but I'll keep reading to see how these 4 friends move on from all this drama.

What can I say? I have a soft spot for this series and these characters. I absolutely love their incredible camaraderie and their banter, it's hilarious to read about. I enjoyed Drew's introduction in the story as well. And I have to admit everytime Romeo appeared I smiled like a proper fangirl lol
So... new book this fall? GIMMIE IT!

PS: the only negative thing was THAT final scene with Zach. NOPE. I did NOT like that at all...I disagree completely with what Braeden did, or better, DID NOT do. I would have done something, I would have helped... I don't care if it was your own worst enemy...we're all damaged human beings after all.

This entire series is so good! I looked so forward to Braeden and Ivy and they are so awesome together.

I so hate Zach what a psychotic bastard! My feelings about Missy are so hard to explain, in away I understand her feelings. But in no way do I like her actions, they are not to be forgiven!

Even though I adore this series it's becoming a long one. Probably because I have so many reads I'm so looking forward to.

Series: The #Hashtag Series #5 (must be read in order)

:: 5 Pretty Little Stars ::

#Poser is another exquisite installment in the #hashtag series. For those who follow my reviews and blog, you know how much I love Cambria Hebert's work. She writes to perfection, brings her characters to life within the pages, and writes beautiful love stories that feel completely real. So, knowing that the final book in the series (#Bae) was just released I knew I had to finish up the last few books. WAH I don't want them to be over but I can't even begin to describe how wonderful it is to read them! Honestly, this is one of my favorite series EVER. You have to read it if you haven't had the chance yet. These books are amazing .

So this one in particular is the continuation on Ivy and Braeden's story. Ivy is sort of living in darkness as she is trying to come to grips with a mistake she made (which is shown in previous books) and Braden is there to back her up. But when the past comes back to haunt her (literally) these two are going to have to put up a fight... And they do... Readers are able to feel the emotions that emit from Braeden and Ivy. You may want to cry, and that's okay. You will want to help them fight their demons, and you will want their love to win over everything that is happening. Even better? You will be able to catch up with all your favorite characters from the previous books AND meet some new ones that come about in her spinoff series, #GearShark.

SO YEA! Read this series. It's freakin amazing!!!!

Cambria Hebert gave me my Romeo Anderson! This man owns my heart and I will love her forever for that! The books about Breaden and Ivy started amazing but then there were so much secrets and drama.. just not my taste :( Maybe when I am in a mood I will pick it up again.

I reviewed this book when I read the ebook. Now I am going to review it since I just finished the audiobook.

I think I like Ivy better with a voice in my ears. Don't get me wrong her in my head she seemed more ditzy to me even though I know that isn't her. So with her having a voice it made her more real to me.

Braeden goes through so much in this book, he makes a lot of hard choices. I can't wait to see what the next book is like. I haven't read it yet and I need to know how some of his choices will affect him.

Over all I am happy with the audio, not a huge fan of the male narrator but we can't all be picky right. Ha :) On to the next!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Review laters, but...

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN ME WHY IT END LIKE THAT? There will be more books out! I fucking want them right now! I mean, this book left so many things inconclusive for me and obviously there was going to at least be one more book, but I did not knew when I started reading B&I story. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK ASAP.

4.5 stars! It's my fifth book in this series and I'm still in love. Ivy and Braeden are great - but I still love R&R more. I'm not getting this true, pure love feeling with them, that I got with R&R. Nevertheless they are great people and very likeable.

ZACH is back. You know the creepy villain from the first two books. And he is even more creepier. At some point it gave me chills.

There was much action at the end, but it felt right. In fact the whole book felt true and right.

And now I'm happy to start book six, what can go wrong with a 'lovers gonna love' in the title? I hope nothing and can't wait to see R&R's wedding! Hells yeah!

I'm really enjoying this series!! One more book to go! I've gone through these books pretty quickly back to back. They are fun and sweet.. but this one had some heartache and anger.. and something happened to Ivy that was horrible... I can imagine this is a difficult subject to write but Cambria handled it well.

Looking forward to the next one... starting NOW

Second read but first time audio, January 2019

Man oh man! This series never ceases to amaze me. I think I loved this series even more the second time around. And while everything that I said in my original review is still the same. This time around I knew much more so I was better prepared. But there were still a few important things I forgot about. So it was like a shock all over again to be reminded about them while reading this book.

And let me just mention that the narrator for this book was great! I absolutely could not stand the narrator for the first books in Rim and Romeo's POVs. But the female narrator in this one did an amazing job. I really enjoyed the audio.

As much as I loved reading Braeden and Ivy's story I cannot wait to get back to Rim and Romeo! :D

First read November 2017

I am so ridiculously happy a friend got me into this series! I absolutely LOVE the everything about these books! And this book is no different. I was a little worried when I first started #Selfie because I was scared I wouldn't end up liking reading about B and Ivy. But I fell in love with B even more when I started reading in his POV. Because naturally I was already in love with him from the first three books.

DO NOT read the spoiler tag if you plan on reading this book.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge Nugget!!!!!

Did that just happen? Wow. I honestly had no idea that Cambria was capable of this. Phenomenal. I'm borderline speechless right now.

For some reason I knew that Braeden and Ivy were going to be it for me. Not that I didn't love Rimmel and Romeo, but enemies to lovers is my jam.

Braeden is now sitting in my top all time favourite hero's category. I absolutely adore him and his incredible transformation throughout this book. He was incredibly vulnerable and fierce at the same time. Cambria described his unwavering love for Ivy in ways I never expected. It absolutely devastated me.

I absolutely loved it! Hands down my favourite book in the series!(Sorry #Hater) If you are looking for a book with an amazing and fierce hero, look no further than Braeden in #Poser!

Damn what an adrenaline rush!

I literally have just finished this one with tears in my eyes. My palms are sweaty, my stomach is queasy and I am soo far behind at work it’s crazy! For two days now this series has consumed me and i don’t feel an ounce but sorry for that fact I am gonna have to work my ass off to catch up this weekend.

Braeden was one helluva guy. To see him so raw, so emotional, so damn alpha was just everything. How did I ever get though my Book world life without having him in it sooner. I just loved Ivy, I loved how she was just herself, trying to find who she was in this world whilst still being an epic friend, GF and sister.

I can’t wait to go on with this series - I never want it to end 😞

I thought I was going to lose my mind reading this book. I hate Missy and Zach so much and wanted to reach through the book and strangle them. Ivy is so sweet and doesn't deserve people lying to her or trying to hurt her. I do like Braeden a lot, but he messes up a bit in this one. He loves Ivy and I get what he was trying to do, but bad decision bro. I did enjoy seeing Romeo play pro and be a big brother to Ivy.
These books are full of drama and romance and I love it! Excited to read the next one.

I don't write reviews often but this one is so bad I hope to save someone a lot of wasted time. To start with I listened to this on audible. The male voice was a poor choice (I'm not sure how much input authors have on this). The male narrator for the first three was much better along with the quality of the books. I couldn't believe that at one point a previously liked character (Romeo) actually said the girls needed looking after. Apparently us weak females are incapable of taking care of ourselves. Well I would prefer not to be "taken care of" like Braeden does.

Braeden has got to be the dumbest book lead ever. Hmm...let's see, you find out your girl was drugged and raped, with photographic proof. What do you do? Call the police so he goes to jail and break it to her gently so she can get much needed counseling. Nah...that's too easy. How about you keep it a secret for for six months for her protection while she gradually goes crazy with weird flashbacks. When she finally does find out in a terrible way, is she mad at you? Nah...after a couple days of silent treatment, she's cool with your decision. Actually she apologizes to you for being selfish and not seeing what you were going through having to keep the secret. WTF.

That's not enough though. When you think she has been kidnapped and your truck has been sabotaged you decide to run a couple miles home because you are faster then a telephone conversation. Sure makes sense to me too. Hmm...let's see what's next. Instead of having her brother come with you to help, you go solo, cuz your awesome like that. Once you get to the store and there are signs of a struggle you only know things are bad when you see the precious star necklace. At this point do you call the police? Nah..college football players with no other articulable skills are way better equipped to handle a kidnapping and vehicle chase, Duh.

In closing, I have never yelled at my audible with so many colorful words in my life. I'm not sure what went wrong. The first couple books were pretty good, if not far fetched. This one just dove into the realm of ridiculous with very unlikable characters. I could rant on and on, but it's past my bed time. Hope that helps those on the fence.

The continuation of Ivy and Braeden's story was good; it was a bit heavy at times but it still had all the charm and poise I've come to expect from Braeden and Ivy. Remember, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
I used a beautiful truth to conceal an ugly lie.

Ivy had a lot to deal with in this book, her trauma was the focal point of the story. At first I was just waiting with baited breath for Braeden to tell her. I understood why he was keeping his knowledge to himself but I also knew it wouldn't stay that way. Once I thought he was for sure going to tell Ivy I was surprised with chapters from Zach's POV.
I felt like an expensive toy shoved in a box with a bunch of broken rejects.
I always love the antagonists POV, there's a sick fascination in learning what the 'bad guy' thinks. Uncovering their motives or damage is always fascinating and the author did a good job of portraying Zach's POV. There were definitely a few instances where you empathize with him but those were often short-lived.

I was kind of surprised there wasn't more Rimmel in this book, I would have thought Ivy's best friend would have played a more central and supportive role throughout Ivy's struggle.

This reminded me of B and Ivy so I had to share :)

1 - I hate, hate this cover. It's not Ivy and Prada AT all. I love this series and I just wish that the cover did it justice.

2 - I didn't really like the first half of this book. The undying love and the pledge to love forever's really started to get on my nerves and I wanted to throw up a little in my mouth.

3 - Zach's chapters was just weird, what a creep! Icky!

Great to see the crew back together though, love the Rim and Rome parts of the story. Not sure what I think about Drew... please don't write a book about him because I don't think I liked him very much, and Trent don't write one about him either. I really want to read about Rome and his time with the Knights, that would be a great story I think.

This is the series for me for this year so far, haven't read anything close to this that I've enjoyed as much as I have enjoyed this series!

I finally finished it last night! ME! The girl who has too much on her plate, neglects blog duties and stares off into space while at school...sometimes.
I'm so proud of myself, okay? LOL!

Enough about me. GUYS! GUYS! Ohmygosh this is #TheBest. I loved, loved, loved it. #Poser was a thrill ride. Suspense, comedy, drama, action, romance all rolled into one! I wasn't expecting it to turn out the way it did. There were some parts that really shocked me, especially a certain POV!!! The character growth was noteworthy. The way the author handled sensitive topics like rape, cancer and mental illness was really careful and it was given justice.
Gah! This book has it all and I have so much love for it!

Sorry for the improper and all over the place review! READ THIS SERIES! Plus another book is coming out!!! #IMSOEXCITED!

In this continuation of #Selfie the characters have so much more depth to them, it seems like Ivy and Breaden just have so many things weighing them down, they have both so many things to resolve, to overcome and sometimes is difficult to do that with the other right there but they both know that the only way to get through them is by supporting each other.

I truly loved this book, it was heavy and dark, it made me feel anxious in every chapter, I was really hurting for them and I just wanted them to finally be happy and okay.

This book is a game changer in this series, absolutely fantastic!
