"You're such an asshole, Zeke." She said, that fire sparking in her eyes. "Why do you even want me? Am I some sort of pity project to you?"Zeke's brows drew low over his eyes. It took me half the book to realize this was a book set in Africa. That’s not bad. I just wasn’t ready for it. Maybe that was why there was such a strong emphasis on Zeke’s fair-skinned appearance and being beautiful. That description was a big part of the book, and as an American, I didn’t understand why until I understood the setting.
I was surprised that as erotic as it was, there wasn’t a lot of sex between the main characters. The story was good overall though. I was surprised at the graphic nature of Zeke’s childhood trauma and its description in the book.
Chasing Rose by Nomi Cane was a flirty and emotionally intense read. The banter between Rose and Zeke was so fun! I found that Zeke's background made for a more unique Hero that you couldn't help but want to join the Zeke's Women Association to help lift him up. I loved Rose's family and how once they learned about her Ex wanted to extract revenge. I appreciated the body positivity that Zeke helped Rose find.
I liked this book! It had a hero with a different past to overcome. The hero was absolutely lovely and knew what he wanted and went for it! Good story!
Sweet and drastic story about over coming ones demons using love a guide. It’s about friendship and family and how important each are to having a strong support system.
