Irena is bright for being ten-years-old, and she sticks to what she knows - until she and her classmates visit the Hill of Tara. She's magnetized to a strange, radiant tree that everyone is making wishes on. In a moment of pure magic, her wish comes true! However, Irena is quickly overwhelmed by the new life of being a Fairy. It's sooner rather than later that she decides she wants out of this wish. Thankfully, the Queen of Fairies is merciful and offers her a way out. Together, Irena and her new Fairy friend come face-to-face with truths that Irena has been seeking, but will the deal be more than what Irena bargained for?
A great short story that takes you through a wide range of emotions. I loved the concept of fairies that Eliza presents, and the world she created for them. Fun read!
This is a really sweet book, I liked how the author explores the concept of fairies as children who don't have anyone else and the community they create together.
