I'm structure. She's chaos. I'm practicality. She's spontaneity. She's off-limits. Nothing, and I mean nothing, will happen between us.

Jack Cooper’s a devoted single dad, just trying to make it through the morning without burning breakfast. His life is all about lists and rules and boundaries.

Meanwhile, I’m a shameless free spirit looking for signs from the universe.

And Jack? He's my sign all right…and he's flippin’ hot. Like total package, scream-his-name-while-biting-a-pillow hot.

But he's sworn off dating. And we're total opposites.

The last thing I want is to further complicate his life.

So what if I melt a little every time he smiles? Who cares if I have a thing for dark hair and blue eyes that caress my body when he looks at me?

All right, so I can’t stop fantasizing about the guy and completely adore his kids. It's not like that should stop me from trying to help the guy out...right?

A single dad trying to control his 3 wild kids, a woman who believes in crystals, good energies and signs, and the town gossip mill that doesn't want to see them together... what could possibly go wrong?

Tropes: single dad, opposites attract, found family, babysitter trope, small town romance.

This is definitely THE book if you are looking for something light, fun and heartwarming with just a pinch of angst! Also that epilogue and bonus scene– most wholesome content ever!!

Shameless is the second installment in the Wildrose Landing series, but it can be read as a standalone, at least that's what I did and had the time of my life while reading it 💙. Jack and Amelia are completely opposites, he's an accountant, she's the woo-woo girl waiting to open a business full of good vibes in this town, but the chemistry can't be denied. From the moment Jack and his children stumbled upon her (quite literally), they both knew there was something special that brought them together. And not only that, the kids felt it too, falling immediately for his charismatic and sunny personality, even if their father was skeptical at first.

Since the death of his wife, Jack is a struggling single dad trying to control his 3 children while finding a new normal for his family. They are not doing well, and the last thing they need is a new woman in the house... or maybe that's exactly the solution.

Signs of the universe brought Amelia to this town to begin her new life, and from the moment she saw Jack and his kids she knew that she was put there to help them with her positivity and good energies, helping them to leave all the bad behind. Too bad that the town gossip isn't very happy with this new friendship and will not be silent about it 🧐 Besides, who still uses Facebook? not me!!

As soon as I caught a glimpse of Jack in the previous book, I was certain that Jack would be something special. In my opinion the main protagonist of the book is Jack and not Amelia. A man who puts his children’s needs over his, is someone who will always remain faithful, no matter the difficulties that life throws you. I loved the story so much, how their love grew as the story developed. There was just a moment in which I mentally yelled at how things were turning out but at the end all the pieces were put together in the right order. Once again my compliments to the author who has written an enchanting story.

I was excited to read Jack’s story. We had glimpses of his struggles as a single dad in the previous book, Fearless. His kids are providing all kinds of challenges but managing them, and his grief is taking its toll on him. Will he be able to keep a nanny?

Amelia had also appeared in the previous book, she is the opposite of Jack, and I love her free spirit. Her quirks are refreshing and a style unique to her. Will she risk moving to Wildrose Landing to start again?

Wildrose landing is still a small town, driven by nosy neighbors. I am looking forward to the next book.

Thank you to the author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

4.5 stars for Jack & Amelia's quirky love story!!

What happens when the numbers guy falls for the woo-woo girl??

Jack's life hasn't turned out the way he planned. Ten years ago, he married the woman he loved and long the way they had three children but when his wife suddenly passes, he is left feeling lost. His days are filled with work, making sure his children are OK and trying to trudge through without messing them up too much. When he literally runs into Amelia, he is immediately drawn to the hippy woman with her boho skirts and essential oils. Even his kids respond well to her which they haven't done since their mother passed. He can't possibly start something with this woman, they are too different even if she makes his life of chaos seem calmer than it ever has been.

Amelia just moved to Wildrose Landing to be close to her best friend Evie and because her spirit guides are telling her that this is where her story will really begin. Upon arriving in WRL she immediately falls in love with the charm that this small town holds and even has her eye on where she wants her new store to be. When she goes to pick up some candy from the store for her best friend and her man she runs in to Jack's daughter and then spots the man with the healthy dose of arm candy. This man is why she is supposed to be in Wildrose, she just knows it.

As Amelia & Jack flirtations become stronger the inevitable, they are feeling isn't going away so they start to see where this could all go but Garrett isn't so on board. As Jack's oldest son he remembers the most about his mom and feels that Amelia might be trying to take her place. Can Amelia and Jack work through their struggles or is their relationship doomed from the start?

Stella Hunter & Connor Crais! That's it! If you are doing the audio all you need to know is that. I've loved Stella Hunter's narrations for a while now, but Connor is new to me and his deep almost growls are just delightful in every sense. I have so many of his books on my TBR because I want all the Connor in my earholes.

I didn't read book one in this series Fearless but I plan to go back and give it a listen because I loved all the goodness that was Wildrose Landing. Jack, Alex, Jude & Austin all best friends and all delicious make for a series perfect story of finding the one you love even if they don't seem like they are exactly what you are looking for.

Jackydaddy - ernsthaft??

(audiobook) It was cute, but not devoid of deeper emotions.

I totally dig the whole family setting, with the nice but disturbed children and their devoted father whom they’re driving crazy–as well as a dozen babysitters–suddenly falling in like with the weirdo nanny. That made for fun scenes, but also a lot of domestic cuteness. And it brought more tensed moments when everything turned sour.

There were a lot of interaction with other characters too. Though the story was clearly focused on Amelia and Jack–and the kids–we see a lot of Jack with his friends, as well as Amelia with friends and not-so-friends. We get a feel of the small town where everyone stick their nose in everyone’s business, and of how judgemental people can do a lot of bad.

The couple was both cute and sexy, though, as they admit themselves, their relationship progresses really fast. Too fast. They let their own insecurities and past tragedies ruin it, and the confrontation was heartbreaking. The grand gesture though? And the epilogue? Totally worth the pain you’ll feel before.

The narrators were perfect for the characters and the atmosphere of the whole story, even better in duet. You hear the smile in their voices when they’re happy, and the tension in the sadder moments. A good book, with just enough drama to make the happily ever after more beautiful.

Quickie

- Series: A Wildrose Landing romance #2 (can be read as a standalone)
- Hashtags: #small town romance #single father #nanny #opposites attract
- Triggers: mention of miscarriage
- Main couple: Amelia Brown & Jack Cooper
- Hotness: 3/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + Amelia’s sweet crazy
- – not enough small town shenanigans

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
STEAM: 🔥🔥

This was a wholesome opposites-attract, second chance read.

Jack is a widower trying to juggle a career and raising three kids that seem to be acting out since their mom passed away. He has also swept his grieving process under the rug in an effort to hold it together for his kids.

Amelia is new to town. She brings essential oils and sage to the mix, but most importantly, she is a calming presence to Jack's kids and perhaps the way for him to cope better with his loss.

I thought having Amelia's "woo-woo" approach ground Jack's family was great meet-cute. It quickly establishes a great friendship that progresses nicely into something more. This was not necessarily a spicy read, but the wholesomeness of Jack, Amelia, the kids, and their network made for a great read.

After having read Fearless earlier this year I instantly started looking forward to more of this world! When i found out about this second book i couldn’t wait to read it! I picked it up and got right back into the Wildrose Landing world! I enjoyed this story!

Ever since I reached the end of Fearless i wanted Jack’s story and i was so glad to get inside his mind! Amelia and Jack’s journey got my attention quickly. I really liked how these two were different and the way they’re brought together. I wasn’t sure how both of them would tackle things. I enjoyed the fact that I felt so much with these two! I liked what the kids brought to the story as well!

With Shameless, Ms.Brooks has created such a good story that will make you feel so many things! I am so looking forward to getting back into this world with the third installment, Reckless!

Ehh. Sure, this was cute, but neither of the grown-ups dealt with the issues in their relationship following the third-act breakup; the kids just did it for them—and the MMC had the audacity to give himself a pat on the back! It always disappoints me when authors swerve writing conflict or resolution - it leaves the story feeling shallow and the characters seeming one-dimensional.

Overall, I found this book somewhat underwhelming. The blurb describes Amelia as chaotic and spontaneous, but she’s not. It also says Jack lives his life ruled by lists and boundaries—also, not true. The most spontaneous thing Amelia did was bake cupcakes, and Jack never set a single rule. Make it make sense.

Also, don't even get me started on the FMC naming her store “woo-woo wildrose” because she thought it would make the love interest laugh. I’m genuinely baffled by the high rating for this book.

Audiobook Review:

I really enjoyed Abby Brook´s sweet, fun, heart-warming story which also tugged on my emotions a few times.

Meet the Coopers, dad Jack, his two sons Garett & Connor plus daughter Charlie, all still adjusting getting over the loss of their wife/mother. Jack has his hands full with his three troublemakers as best behaviour is not on top of their lists. But here comes free-spirited, positive Amelia, who sees the good in everything and everyone, to brighten up their lives with a bit of woo-woo energy. I loved the chemistry between Amelia and Jackalicous, as she lovingly calls him as well as the dynamics with his kids. Amelia is a breath of fresh air and distracts them from their current grief and seems to have them heading towards a new HEA but of course not without some challenges on their journey there.

Abby´s beautiful words are perfectly underlined in Duet narration by Stella Hunter & Connor Crais. Their emotions and the presentation of their characters just felt real. Stella is wonderful as Amelia with her feel-good vibes and positive attitude but also plays on your emotions portraying Amelia´s feelings. Connor´s performance of Jack Cooper is fun, passionate, and emotional. It's so believable it makes your heart melt. I also really enjoy how he delivers humour; it always makes me smirk. But the icing on the cake is their kid voices, you will fall in love with Stella and Connor voicing Jack´s kids as they are just too adorable. Overall, it is a fun, feel-good listen with great writing and acting!

I enjoyed Jack and Amelia's story. Amelia took me a little bit to warm up to. She was a little too over the top with her oils, positivity, and woo-woo stuff. She started to win me over once she started interacting with the kids more. While these two are complete opposites, I loved how their story played out. They had amazing chemistry and were drawn towards each other from the very beginning. Amelia's relationship with the kids was heartwarming.

4.5 Stars 🌟

I enjoyed the first book in this series but I loved this one!

Heartwarming and humorous while also being heart wrenching, as widower Jack and his three young children face life without a wife and mother. Despite some time having passed since her death the young family are really struggling to find their own new normal.
Enter smiling ‘Storm Amelia’….she completely flipitty flips their lives up in the air while injecting order, love and fun back into their home.
With a little angst and some understandable blips on their road this is a really lovely story about moving on whilst still holding dear and also how found family can bring complete joy.

I’m really enjoying this new series from Abby Brooks and look forward to the next visit to Wildrose.

I fell in love with this story from the moment I started reading it 😊

Amelia was just an amazing character. Just moved to Wildrose Landing she is starting her own business. She was fun, she was sweet, she was the take it as it comes type of attitude with her boho chick wardrobe and let the universe take of everything 😊 I loved that. When she walked in Jack Cooper’s house and said that the universe wanted her to come and help him he didn’t know what he was getting himself into 😊

Jack’s wife has passed away. Now he is a single dad to three kids. He is focusing all his time on work and taking care of them and making sure they are well. He didn’t have time or the energy for anything. So when Amelia showed up and helped his kids out and it seems that she had a good influence on them and calmed them, she started taking care of them. And the more time he spent with her the more he realized that moving on isn’t a bad thing and being happy is what he needs as well as his kids 😊

This was a sweet good feel story. I loved all the characters in this book. Well, except for the nosy neighbors, lol… The kids were totally adorable even when they were on their worst behavior. Amelia was exactly what Jack and the kids needed to deal with their loss. And the kids and Jack gave Amelia new purpose and added a lot of joy and happiness to her life 😊 I am looking forward to the next story by this author… Izzy and Jude??? 😊

Jack Cooper's life didn't quite turn out the way he thought it would, after his wife's sudden passing he is left being a single father to their three children. Everyday with them is chaotic, busy, but he wouldn't have it any other way. Somedays are a struggle for him as he is still mourning his wife, but it's his children that keep him putting one foot in front of the other and staying present. Just when he doesn't think their lives can get anymore chaotic he's thrown a whole new level of it... he suddenly realizes that he needs help and fast.

That's where Amelia comes in... She offered to be the helping hand he needed in his moment of crisis, but somewhere along the way she also became his saving grace. In more ways than one!

Shameless is a wonderfully penned story of second chances, finding love after loss, healing. Jack lost everything the day his wife passed, and since that day he has struggled to find his way. Being a single father isn't what was planned, but it is the reality he has now. He can't imagine replacing her, moving on and finding love again, but when he meets Amelia he sees it as a second chance he never thought he'd have. It's as if they were meant for one another, she brings light into his life, supports him when he is failing, and loves his children as if they were her own. It's a perfect new beginning.

Shameless was such a heartwarming story, from beginning to end this one will have you swimming in feels! Highly recommend!

Shameless
By: Abby Brooks
Narrated by: Stella Hunter, Connor Crais

I have fallen in love with Abby Brooks! This is my second book I have listened to, and love each one! This one tugged at my heart from the start. Single dad, three kids, woowoo girlfriend, all pulled me in. Jack Cooper has spent the last 18 months dealing with the death of his wife and trying to hold his family together. He needs help and when Amelia comes to town, she may be the exact remedy his family needs. Amelia has had her share of disappointments, and now wants to share her light. But while she is waiting for a storefront, she is taking on the babysitting of Jack's kids. And the fun begins. Food fights, spraying sage, grief, love, and the crazy neighbor lead to an array of emotions you won't expect. I laughed, and smiled, and felt the love and even teared up! If you are looking for a feel good listen, this one is for you!

Stella Hunter and Connor Crais are incredible together. Hunter has a voice that matches Amelia perfectly. Her emotions are spot on, and I love her "woowoo". Plus her kid voices are so realistic, I thought it was a child! Crais has a wam, velvety voice, and his voice as a caring father could not be more real. Love this team, and hope to hear more from them.

“Shameless” was a wonderful single Dad romance who deserved a second chance at love. I am loving the “Wildrose Landing” series and I hope we get many more installments.

Amelia has moved to Wildrose Landing to start her own business. She thrives in positivity and being true to yourself. Jack is a single Dad to three children after his wife passed away a few years ago from a car accident. The two meet at a candy shop when he’s with his children and have an instant connection. When his life is at its most chaotic, Ameila is there to help. Her light is what had been missing from his life after just trying to get by each day.

I loved Ameila with all of her positivity and woo-wooness. It was something different in a female main character and really worked for her. She thrived to be her best and help who she could with whatever she had to offer. Jack is a sweet guy who got jilted in life when his wife was killed and was given an amazing second chance. His struggles to be happy and keep his kids happy is relatable. His kids were adorable and brought a lot of laughs to the story. I’m looking forward to listening to the audiobook when it releases.

So many things I love about this story. Hot, broken, single dad Jack and his imperfect child that are still dealing with the loss of their mother. I love when an author makes children real. Don’t get me wrong, I love them but they definitely are giving everyone a run for their money.

Amelia… I love the intent of her. She and her boho ways make me happy. Life’s hardships have given her a new perspective and a new way to live. She embraces alternative practices to help heal and calm the soul.

I love our two main characters together. They definitely know how to heat up the page. I guess if there was one thing I took exception it would be the way Amelia was talked about and the way she talked about herself including the name of her shop. If you truly believed that way you would not make fun of yourself or let others make fun of you.

I understood some of the barriers presented by the children though the resolution was a bit too quickly as was the other issues being forgiven and forgotten.

Overall I feel this was a good opposites attract, single parent romance. It has a nice tribe surrounding our couple as well. I give this story a 3.5 star rating. Happy Reading Everyone!

4 Star Review of Shameless by Abby Brooks

Abby Brooks is a relatively new author to me and as I enjoy single parent stories I was excited to read and review Shameless. I enjoyed Jack and Amelia’s story . They are total opposites and yet the attraction that ignites between them is hard to ignore.

Having moved to Wildrose Landing, Amelia falls not only for Jack but for his three children as well and I loved the relationship that she forged with them. The chemistry between them sizzles and from the first meeting there is a connection between them even though Jack is worried about the complications that might arise.

I loved how free spirited Amelia was and that she leaned towards an alternative lifestyle. Jack is a man who has struggled since his wife died and I felt for all of them as they tried to cope. Their journey to a happily ever after is rocky as well as realistic.

Amelia entering their lives brought light to their darkness which made me smile.

I thought I loved Evie and Alex's story in Fearless. But Amelia and Jack are real. I was rooting for them from page one. Abby Brooks hit this one out of the park! This book has it all, wonderful character development, a beautiful storyline that touches on love, loss, grief, and faith, all in the setting of this quaint town that you find yourself visiting. I love the skepticism of The Woo-Woo that became grounding, calming...healing. Abby's use of figurative language captures the reader and transports you into the story! "It was thunder and lightning over a storm thrashed sea."

"It was a rolling snowball of happiness, and we were all caught up in it." Yep, that was how I felt reading it. I was caught up in the happy, shed tears in the grief, and enjoyed a sweet treat as if I was at Sweet Stuff. This great story delivers it all!

Amelia and Jack’s story was sweet, flirty and emotional and I love every moment of it. Amelia is a little lost and decides to follow her best friends lead and move to a small town in New England where she meets Jack widower and a single dad of three. They have instant chemistry when they meet despite being complete opposites. He is a rule follower and she is a free spirit that believe the universe sent her to the small town for him and his kids. I love the relationship that Amelia forms with children and how much she helps heal them and Jack after their loss. This one hit me in all the feels, I laughed, swooned and cried. I didn’t want to put it down once I started reading and I highly recommend this one.
Update: Audio Review

After his wife passed away Jack has been focused on putting the needs of his three children first and his became a very distant second. He hasn’t even thought about letting another woman into their lives until Amelia comes in like a whirlwind and shows him what they have been missing.

Amelia has recently moved to town to open her own business and her spirited and animated personality brings energy wherever she goes. Although there are some challenges to overcome, she is exactly who Jack and his children need in their lives.

Amelia and Jack take us on an emotional and touching journey as they fight for the happiness they both deserve. This is a story about new beginnings, overcoming the past and finding love where you least expect it. The performance of the narrators draw you in and have you feeling what they feel which only makes the story that much more compelling.

Shameless is the second book in Abby Brooks Wildrose Landing series. In the first book Fearless we met our male lead Jack Cooper as one of the BFF’s of that story’s male lead Alex. He’s a recently widowed single dad of three. Our female lead in this story Amelia Brown had a large secondary role in the previous story as the Woo-Woo BFF of that stories female lead Evie. Their roles are reversed in this story. Evie has moved in with Alex and they are planning their wedding leaving the big house she inherited from her great aunt empty. She offers to let Amelia who has been restless and wants to live closer to her BFF, stay in the mansion. We’re not really told what Amelia did for a living before coming to Wildrose Landing but apparently she’s accumulated enough money to support herself for awhile and launch a business selling t-shirts with inspirational sayings she’s designed as well as all the woo-woo New Age stuff like essential oils, sage sprays, crystals etc. For me Amelia was the best part of this story. Amelia as I’ve said was sort of Woo-woo as even Evie calls her. But she doesn’t mind. The title of this book Shameless comes from the way Amelia shamelessly lives her life. She knows people think she’s a little weird and over the top with her essential oils and sage smudges but she doesn’t care beca use she’s happy. And we’re told that wasn’t always the case for her. In fact at one time she had a negative personality. A personal crisis put her into a deep depression which she pulled herself from by adopting this more positive, optimistic personae. Amelia is a true believer in positivity and getting back from the Universe what you put out into it. She also believes in following the signs from her higher spirit guides.
Jack Cooper is the recently widowed overwhelmed father of three young children. They’re all struggling to deal with the loss of his wife Natalie eighteen months earlier. The kids nine, seven and six are out of control. Jack is about as straightlaced and non-woo-woo as possible. He’s an accountant by trade who loves his spreadsheets. His idea of dressing casual is wearing a polo shirt with his khakis instead of a button down and tie.
When Jack and his children literally run into Amelia at Izzy’s (Alex’s younger sister) candy shop sparks fly. Amelia quickly calms the unruly children while electricity flows between herself and the handsome single dad. Amelia wants to open her store on Main St. While she waits for a space to become available and plans for her new business. After his latest babysitter quits on him she agrees to help Jack out watching his kids until he can find a permanent babysitter for the summer. Of course she falls in love with Jack and the kids while they fall in love with her. Before you know it they’re having PDAs in front of the kids who even find Amelia in Jack’s bed the next morning after their first time having sex. This is a contemporary romance so we know that they’re not just going to go from here to the chapel. Trouble arises for the love birds when Jack’s oldest Garrett feels Amelia’s relationship with his father threatens the memory of his mother. Jack must decide whether to pursue his own happiness with Amelia or step away from her to assuage his son’s fears.
Here’s why I didn’t give this story 5 stars. It would have been nice to know what Amelia did to support herself before coming to Wildrose Landing to open a business and be close to Evie. If Brooks is going to mention her ex boyfriend Darien it would have been nice if she’d told us a bit about their relationship which seems to have really effected Amelia. Then there’s nosy neighbor Greta who has a vendetta towards Amelia and is constantly posting pictures with negative comments about her relationship with Jack on her FB page. How did Amelia or Jack not threaten her with a lawsuit for invasion of privacy and slander? Amelia is not a public figure so therefor had the right to expect a measure of privacy and not having her picture taken or published without her consent. Beyond those minor issues that was a very entertaining if a little predictable story. Amelia is a wonderful character. Jack is okay as the decent guy torn between trying to do what’s right for his kids and what his heart wants. Their friends who make up most of the secondary characters were great in their roles as supportive friends. There’s a heartwarming happily ever after. Very good story, just not in my opinion not quite as good as Fearless.

This book was heartwarming and sweet with a splash of humor and steam. A story about two people with tragic pasts, who are trying to rediscover themselves and a family who heals by finding love. An opposites-attract romance.

Jack, a widower, and father of 3 rambunctious children struggle to find a happy balance between home, parenting and work, with absolutely no time for himself.
Then there's Amelia, with her spirit guides, oils, and positive outlook on life. She's got a quirky, bubbly personality and always sees the good in things. She moves to Wildrose with the plan of opening her shop. What she doesn't plan for is falling for Jack Cooper.
She is also the last person Jack would ever expect to be attracted to, but when she brings joy and calmness into his life and home, he realizes how blessed he and his children are for having her enter their lives.

From their first meeting, which was a disaster, Jack is captivated by her. She makes him feel like a man again and not just a struggling father. Even though he's sworn off dating and getting close to another woman, for his and his children's sake, he can't help but fall for Amelia. Especially when he sees how much she adores his children and the positive impact she is having on them.
It's like a magnetic pull between the two of them, drawing them closer and closer together. They are complete opposites but they compliment each other perfectly.
Although he doesn't believe in all her "woo-woo" stuff, he admits that whatever she does works.
Just when things start to heat up between them, there is a conflict involving the kids and Amelia starts to question the relationship. Then out of the blue, things take a turn for the worse and everyone is left heartbroken.

From nosy gossips and rebellious children to misleading spirit guides and a man blinded by guilt, nothing can stand in the way of this Happily Ever After!

This was my first read by Abby Brooks and I loved it. Would recommend it.

If you love single dads and opposites attract you will love Shameless. Especially if you love small towns with nosey neighbors and a tightknit group of friends. Shameless was such a relatable read as our hero, Jack Cooper, is struggling to raise three kids after his wife passed away. We met him in Fearless, book one of the Wildrose Landing series, and it was so sad to see how he was grieving and trying to manage the kids all on his own.

Amelia, our heroine, is such a breath of fresh air. She’s quirky and unique with her boho style, spirit guides, and positive caring nature. You can’t help but like her and route for her the entire time. The children can’t seem to find their footing with the loss of their mom, and their antics to chase the nannies away is really funny, if not sad, as they are trying to deal with their feelings. It’s their way of coping until Amelia comes into their lives, and she is the distraction and injection of joy that the Cooper family needs.

Jack is captivated with her from the start (very funny meet cute), and although he feels guilty, can’t help feeling alive again whenever she is near. I love this author’s writing style because it draws me in and makes me feel so many emotions. I feel as if I am right there with them as they get to know one another and explore being more than friends. Jack fumbles along the way as he is trying to protect his children and make them happy, and I love how his friends do an intervention to set him straight.

This story is about moving forward and forgiveness, and finding love when you least expect it. I’m so glad that Jack and Amelia took a chance on each other, and how much she loved and embraced the children as her own. I admired how she was an ambitious career woman with her own identity, and how she opened up her own retail shop against all odds in this fun fictitious town.

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Jack and his friends, Jude, Austin, and Alex, and am looking forward to Jude finding love with Izzy in the next book.

Shameless is the second book in Abby Brooks' Wildrose Landing series and while it can be read as a stand alone I suggest reading the first book in the series, Fearless, not only because it is a wonderfully written book but so that you can come into Jack and Amelia's story with a little more understanding of where they are coming from.

When I first read Fearless, I adored Amelia's character. She may be a little eccentric but she's also fun, optimistic and helped push Evie into reaching her potential. She still has that same core characterizations but it also reveals the depth of her personality and the struggles she endured that lead her to become this beacon of positivity. And Jack, oh that poor sweet man. I knew from the couple glimpses we got of him in the first book that when I read his story it would be emotional, heartbreaking but also become one of the best romances I could imagine. Shameless is that romance.

Jack and Amelia couldn't be more opposite- but they come together and fill the voids in each other's hearts- and the hearts of Jack's 3 children. And while this story is emotional, both in Jack's story as well as Amelia's, this connection they felt, like an invisible force that came to hold these two together when they both needed it most was beautiful. Then add in their chemistry between the sheets and we ended up with a story that had me shedding a few tears, laughing, and devouring every word until I reached the final page.

4.5 Stars for Shameless
This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last. If you love single parent romance or small town love stories look no further than Jack and Amelia’s story.
Amelia is new to Wildrose Landing, looking for a new start with her alternative lifestyle and a new business she finds hers self looking for new friends and she is immediately drawn to Jack and his three children. They seem like they need some help and she needs a friend so maybe this is meant to be, maybe fate has put them together for a reason.
Jack isn’t coping well since his wife’s death, he knows he needs help and his children certainly need help but he isn’t sure help should ge coming from a free spirit waving sage around.
I adored Amelia and her alternate remedies, she is bubbly, quirky and loveable, I loved how the children described her oils as smelling of dirt but they were also open enough to let this quirky lady in. This book has all the feels, it’s about trust, it’s about taking a leap into the unknown, it’s about love, caring and understanding but more importantly it’s about building relationships. I loved everything about this read and I’m looking forward to reading more from this talented author.

Audiobook review: As much as I loved Fearless, I loved Shameless even more. This book was absolutely fantastic made even better by Stella Hunter and Connor Crais's superb narrations. The way these two narrators can get the emotions of the scene across is truly amazing.

I couldn't have loved Amelia more. She was just the sweetest and heartwarming person. I want her to be my friend. She was so wonderful with Jack's kids (Garrett, Connor and Charlie). She was able to calm them down and make life just a little bit better for all of the Cooper crew.

It took Jack a little bit to come to terms with the idea of moving on after losing his wife. He was trying to be the best parent he could be while also working so he could provide for his kids. He never thought that he should focus on himself every now and then. Amelia came into their lives when they least expected it and truly turned everything around.

I honestly can't say enough good things about this book and the narrators. This was a delight to listen to from start to finish. I can't wait for the next installment for this small town.

Flippin’ flapping perfect!!

This book is full of fun, romance, positivity, and love. You get all the feels with Jack, Amelia and the Cooper clan.
Amelia is such a different and none traditional heroine that throws you for a loop in such a good and flippin’ flapping perfect way that you cheer for her the whole time. All the woo woo, sage, and vetiver scents make you want to have an Amelia for a friend. And Jack as her man, so you can ogle the arm porn and the beauty that he is. They are that perfect!!

This second book on the Wildrose Landing Series will get you falling in love with small town, opposite attractions, and cheerful friends type of story! It can be read as a standalone but best if you read in order to get the full fill of the amazing side characters.

Abby has the magic touch to leave you feeling good with your heart full of joy and desire for what she has in store next! She’s that addicting and I love it!
