My Beta says I have a saviour complex, and considering my life's work had revolved around saving my half-sister and getting revenge for my father, he may have been correct. Sure, I accomplished it by becoming one of the most feared criminals south of the border.
I never said I was the good guy.
Now my sister was safe after exacting revenge for us all, and I was at a loss. What the hell did I do now?
Well, I did what any sane criminal overlord would do; I packed up my stuff, handed over the reigns to my empire and moved to Montana. But first, I had to rescue the Omega that I didn't save when I was just a kid. How hard could breaking into a secret government facility in the middle of the desert, which was surrounded day and night by armed guards, really be?
For a human, probably impossible. But I wasn't human. I was Manix.
However, not everyone was happy that I was moving to the Manix stronghold in Maxton, least of all their aged Alpha General. I swear, I'm not usually impulsive, but I never, ever, back down from a challenge, and the people of Maxton were about to learn that firsthand.
Especially a pretty Beta female with a smile like the sun.
Frenzy is the second standalone novel in the Shadow Bred series.
When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre. Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer. Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?
Dare I say this one is better than Manix!! And the way Court and Dom always ask for consent from Bonnie, Radic, and Pryce was done so well that I find myself nodding and saying yes when asked. So different than the MANY times I’ve rolled by eyes at the “sure you want this” type questions
🔥 Omegaverse RH with MM 🔥 Manix Alpha, ex-cartel leader 🐺 Wolf Beta, ex-cartel member 🔥 D/s dynamics 🧁 food play 🍆 MMMMF (4 bi-H’s)
I was intrigued with Court from the moment we met him in Manix. And when Frenzy opens we see exactly what he has been doing in Mexico all these years. He's saved countless children from being trafficked and run a highly successful cartel business. I wish we could have stayed in the cartel world but I'm happy with the direction the story took. I can't imagine a better person than Court to challenge the Alpha General for power and control of the Manix.
I would have enjoyed more participation from Pryce but again I understand why his character evolved the way he did. He has a lot of trauma to overcome and being around Bonnie and the men has opened him up and brought love into his life. But it's his twins thriving that stole my heart at the end of the book. A shirtless court with a baby on his chest was a good addition too.
There's something about this book, out of all of Grace's books, that will have me coming back to it again and again. I absolutely love Court and Dom's dynamic.
This book CAN BE read as a standalone. Although please tell me you’ve already read Manix and loved it!!
And my absolute favorite thing about Grace books, we always have fantastic family reunions: 🩸 DARK RIVER DAYS: Raine, Lucian, X, Judge, Nico 🐺 EDEN ACADEMY: Allistair, Stacey & Bohdie 🔮 Miranda 🐉 Alexander
I love this universe so much, I was just happy being back. And this book had everything: An epic plot twist that had me gasping, an incredible chosen family element, the steamiest smut you could imagine and a lot of heart.
I’m taking away one star because the ending was really rushed. I wish we’d had more time with the De León pack. And that when they finally mated, it wasn’t skipped after such long build up. We never got to read Pryce having sex with any of the guys and that made me sad ☹️
The relationship between Courtland and Dominic was another miss for me. I’d have preferred to read an established relationship (Like Bonnie and Radic) than what we got because it was underdeveloped and rushed. Plus the whole submissive/“Puppy” dynamic just felt weird for these two, idk.
One thing I absolutely loved about this book was how much it expanded the Manix universe. We got to revisit some of the Manix packs and Alphas from the first book, but we also got vampires!!! And not only that, but they were old af, super powerful and hot!!! Update: Apparently they have their own series. Guess what my next read will be 🤤
And the feral girl Kitty and the two alphas from the Wiley-Fletcher-Reid Pack!!!???? I need to KNOW what’s going on with them!!! Poor Darius, he had no idea his Alphas had a feral girl hiding somewhere in the woods for 10 friking years!!
Then there’s Susannah and her abusing Alpha Wilkie. And the two sweetheart Alphas Murphy and Merrick who took care of her when she turned Omega. But she went back to Wilkie!!!! Jfc I need to know what happens with her, please!!
Basically, waiting between books is the sweetest torture and I hope McGinty writes all the books for all the side characters and packs, please 🙏🏻
It’s funny, part of the reason I love Omegaverse is because of that destined affection/sex appeal/love. But when two betas love each other, it’s feels like magic because they chose each other rather then destiny.
Ha! I knew I loved Courtland in Manix but his arrival in Montana and his introduction to the alpha general … well, let me just say that my affections have multiplied tenfold.
I swear to God, there’s nothing sexier then a man holding a baby. And Grace McGinty gives it to you in spades in this series.
Radic is the most territorial of them all and he’s not even an alpha. I love how protective he is of Bonnie.
Holy smokes! Between Cortland and Dominic, I don’t know if my libido will survive. 🥵
I’m pretty sure I’ll never look at a cupcake quite the same way again.
Hot damn, this one culminated in a Big Bang. You can never accuse McGinty of being boring. I was pretty much on the edge of my seat for the last quarter of the book.
My only complaint is not enough sex and no knotting. Although GM said we could look forward to that in the 3rd installment.
I didn't like this one as much as first. Sadly, for me, something was missing. Don't get me wrong, I still finished it easily and it did keep my interest for the most part while I was reading it. But I don't see myself going back and re-reading my favorite parts as I did with the first book. In fact, at one point, near the beginning, I paused this to re-read my favorite bits from the first one lol. Makes me consider increasing my star rating on the first, to be honest.
Frenzy is an action, lust and cupcake packed follow up to Manix, same world, different pack. I honestly didn’t know if Grace would be able to write something that would measure up to Manix because it was like a mic drop for an omegaverse novel. But guys, she absolutely did! Frenzy is freaking fantastic. There is violence, sex, some hot as sin man on man action but also unbelievable tenderness and understanding. I felt so connected to Court, Dom, Bonnie, Rad and Pryce, usually when I read I decide on a fave and stick to them but the characters in Frenzy grew so much I actually changed my mind. You won’t be disappointed.
I was gonna wait but hadn't committed to another read already. I liked this one better than the first pack. It was the start of a pack, rather than an add on. A bit heavier on the Alpha/Beta/Omega dominating stuff. Strong with the MM. I'm curious about Kitten and the whole women switch was interesting. Appearances from vampires and genius woman, so really need to read Dark river and Eden academy. Dark themes and again with the legion idiots.

When I stumbled across Manix, I devoured it. I had no clue it had just come out and was mesmerized by the book. I was so looking forward to this one.
Pros: I did really enjoy the strong fmc. Dare I say she appeared more alpha like than the strong scary cartel members.
Cons: There was a lot of backstory I felt like I didn’t understand. It’s been so long since I really Manix, maybe it was explained there. But typically with every book in a series there’s at least a short explanation of certain things that wouldn’t be common knowledge.
The ending. It felt rushed. Random. Incomplete? I desperately wanted to see the bond with the mated pack, and felt cheated out of it. I also feel like we never got a nice resolution on Pryce’s growing character. It felt like there was a 10k word limit and by word 9.5k the author realized she still hadn’t bonded the pack, had Pryce come out of his shell, nor had a full pack scene?
Overall I finished the book with a lot of questions and really wish there was more that can’t be fixed now.

Grace is a master wordsmith and the Queen of smut and I can't get enough of anything she writes. Frenzy the new offering in the Manix series is hot as duck and so damn endearing as well. She really knows how to craft a story and her gut wrenching climaxes are nothing short of wicked. This book is even better than the first and I can't recommend it highly enough
Frenzy is its own kind of fun, but Manix had more heart.
As far as leading ladies go, Naja and Bonnie share a ferocious heart. They are both caregivers, fighters, and they are women who sacrifice to give others what they need. For me, it's pretty clear that if you liked Naja, you'll likely also enjoy Bonnie.
With the men, we've got a mix with a little variety. Court is a dom- in life and love and beneath the sheets... or on top of the sheets... or against a wall. He's got a heart of gold, and once someone is counted as "his," he's on their side with teeth, claw, and floppity ears at the ready. We get some pieces of his backstory, helping us get more sneaky peeks of what forged him into the man he's become, and he's wholly likable. There are really no issues to be had with Court.
Dom is playful, a little bit crazy, and very insatiable. He's the shadow at Court's back and the shield at his front, and the two of them are a team that can't be broken apart. There's an underlying affection between the two of them, and McGinty does a nice job of making the relationship between them (it becomes romance in Frenzy) feel like it's there for a real reason and not just to make more reasons for readers to drool.
Rad is steady; he's Bonnie's Dom, meaning he's the steady beating heart in her life, a match that others thought wasn't meant for her yet he fits nonetheless. He can be a little dramatic, but he's sweet and sometimes shy, and he's a nice balance to all the intensity that Bonnie, Court, and Dom leak onto the pages of the story.
Pryce is adorable and brand new to the world- not just the world of Manix, but really the world in general. Having been locked away, he's had no real chance to experience hope, love, or even the simplest of pleasures like hitting the "Yes, I am still watching" button on Netflix. Like Rad, he's a sweeter presence in the pack and a nice balance to the others.
Now, here's the thing. I've been floating between a 3.5 and a 4 for Frenzy, and it's not because what's there isn't great. McGinty has made an interesting, fast-paced, and 🔥🔥 adventure here, and that bears mentioning because she deserves credit for a job well done.
It's more that there are things I wanted to see that I didn't get to, things that for me, would have pushed it up to that definite 4 or 5 star like its predecessor. As far as Pryce goes, I wanted more of the moments where he was adjusting, where he was relying on the pack and having them help open him up to this new world of freedom. For me, those would be little stepping stones that would more strongly solidify why he chooses to stay with Court's pack, and it's those little intimacies that can actually wind up being very powerful moments in a story that people look back on/remember most.
Generally, we have some really cute moments that will make your heart go all squishy, but I feel like one of the most important moments/expressions of how they feel about each other as a pack is not included in the story. For me, that was something I wanted to see- not for the s3x, though I'm sure it would have been hot, but because it's a huge BIG FEELS opportunity that I think I needed to be 100% invested in the relationships.
So, that's the big defining factor. I think Manix just had more heart, and the ties that bound Naja and her manix together were just a little stronger to me. All that being said, Frenzy is still 100% worth a read, and it's on my reread list as well.
***** Rating: 4 stars Steam: 3 flames Genre: Omegaverse / Polyamourous / MMMMF ***** The storyline for Frenzy was a page-turner. I needed to know what would happen with all these characters, Court, Dom, Bonnie, Radic, and Pryce.
Frenzy is full of twists, turns and it kept me on the edge of my seat. However, I did stuggle a little with the romance portion of this book. I wish the group had committed to one another WAY before they did… that lack of commitment affected how I reacted to them as a romantic group.
As an MMMMF book, there is a lot of hot stuff going on and there is some kindle melting action in here. As far as characters, hands down, Dom was my favorite character and he definitely brought some humor and serious sexy times to this story. I enjoyed the other characters, but it was always Dom that I was anxious to hear more from. The secondary characters were also interesting and I was curious about the vampires (I think they came from a different series) and I will look into that series because Lucius… that is a character I need to know more about.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, it kept me engaged, there was blood and guts, happy times, suspense, and steam. I liked this book and I will keep reading.
This book was great. I loved everything about it but there was one huge thing that made me so mad and disappointed. But first, the good. The plot was great. Perfect blend of story, character building and relationship growth with a healthy mix of spice. All the characters were interesting and unique and worked so well together. Now the anger. The entire book we are watching Pryce grow and heal as a character. One of the main points of the story was them bonding as a pack and that was 100% glazed over In less then a page. I read this entire book waiting for them to bond only to be snub at the very end. It was extremely disappointing. We also never got to see Pryce open up and be with any of the guys for more then a kiss. It didn’t seem fair that every other character got their time to shine and grow on page and his was glossed over from The FMCS perspective in a quick fade to black paragraph. Again, I love Grace and her books and this whole book was amazing but this one thing felt like a huge let down to me and really left me feeling sad and unsatisfied at the end of the book instead of happy that everything worked out.
I think this might be even better than the first book in the series. I love how Grace McGinty describes how complicated polyrelationships can be. Rather than a whole pack "chasing" one individual, the author provides all the different dynamics. Also, the action in the novel was very intriguing. But the best thing in this book was the friends-to-lovers trope, which we got in two different couples that are part of the polyrelationship... in two different ways.
I absolutely LOVED book 1 "Manix" this is such a different species, different world with all the same things that I love in an alpha beta omega dynamic. Book 2 was really good, and follows Naja's (from book 1) brother. Along with his beta Dominic, 2 locals to Maxton, Bonnie and Radic, and a rescued captive Pryce. I really loved their dynamic and i loved that they didnt all know eachother from the start, that was refresshing.
One thing i really loved about book 2 was that although I loved Bonnie's character, she was sweet but strong, so caring with all the kids, she wasnt really the centre of the book, alot of RH the woman gets the most chapters, the main focus is on her journey but in this book i really felt it was quite equal between all those in this pack, we really got each member and their journey with each of the different pack members (as much as could be squished into one book anyway) and i absolutely LOVED it.
Holy crap. I didn’t think I could like this series any more than I did, but I absolutely LOVED Frenzy.
This is Courtland’s story and my oh my is it a ride.
Courtland and Dominic are ready to retire their life and settle down. With one last run, they find themselves saving a long lost acquaintance and a male Manix Omega. When the Omegas babies are in trouble they head north to Maxton, home of Manix for help.
Here they meet coupled Betas, Radic and Bonnie. When sparks instantly fly, the Alpha can’t stay away and when tension is high he ends up challenging current Maxton Alpha General for his position.
*******
Their is so much more to say but I can’t find the words without giving anything away.
This book is FULLLL of twists and turns I was not expecting. Also we get more of Raine and some of her guys and Stacey and Bohdie. I loved it. I laughed. I took some breaks to go bug my husband 😉😉. I even got emotional at the end. This had it all.
All of the characters are 🔥 and we are introduced to way more characters I can’t wait to meet. Like Susannah, that girl is crazy and I’m dying to kno what her life is about. Rosa will be a little firecracker and I hope gets a story later also.
So, if your hesitating at all, don’t. Read this ASAP. It’s super good!!!! As it always is with this author. ♥️
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 I felt like it wasn’t super descriptive like the author normally writes, but it was still hot AF and the tension was tiiight. *Med-Fast Burn *MMF MF MM *First person POV (all main characters *HEA? YES! Definitely left you wanting more
This is my first series that I’ve read about with MPreg in it and … I like it. A lot. It’s such a different take on the whole alpha/beta/omega trope and I love how this author made it work. I love the hierarchy and the roles everyone has through Mother Nature. And knotting and MM and the whole pack dynamic. Im obsessed.
The Manix omegas are becoming extinct. Or are they?
Courtland, alpha of his pack rescues and old acquaintance he could never get his mind off of over the years. Not only rescuing him, he rescues babies that were part of an awful lab experiment and are dying. They need help and a good doctor.
With corrupted bad alphas, omegas going extinct, and Courtlands pack about to get some new additions…
Tons of sex. Tons of drama. And betas saving an entire race of shifters.
We get vampires in this story and omg. I need more.

Grace does it again! This pack is hot hot hot. Courtland is my new obsession, I think I will be comparing all Alphas to him from here on out. He is just the right amount of dominant, hot, and please just let me take care of you. The dynamics between this newly forming pack gives you butterflies. If you are a big Grace fan than you will love seeing some of your favorite characters again in this book *cough* my man X *cough*.
Really loving this world of Manix shifters that Grace has created... sorry drifted off.. was busy thinking about Courtland all over again.
Can an incredibly hot and steamy read actually be sweet? This one manages and does it with aplomb. Written from several viewpoints, this is a romance and truly delves into the poly aspect of relationships, with everyone truly loving each other - which means it is not a traditional RH, though there is only one female in the group. It’s complicated, lol.
I’d say this is an omegaverse like tale that has a few well placed cameos by characters from McGinty’s Dark River series.
Sweet, hot, first person, multiple POV and for adults only.
I both hate and love when a book makes me cry. While this book can be read as a standalone, Ms. McGinty has characters from other series making an appearance. The author has created a compelling narrative with complex characters. I definitely recommend this book.
This book was m e s s y. It felt so rushed, with little to no development in key areas, leaving me with more questions than answers.
Bonnie’s character was a prime example of inconsistency. She starts off as this independent woman who doesn’t want an alpha due to past hurt, but the moment she meets Courtland, she’s all over him? And don’t even get me started on Bonnie and Radic’s relationship. They’re framed as best friends with benefits, but out of nowhere, he’s calling her his girlfriend in front of everyone. Where did that come from?
Then there’s Pryce. Where was his healing journey? He had so much potential as a character, but it felt glossed over. And Courtland’s love declaration to Dominic? It was so underwhelming that it barely registered as a pivotal moment.
The plot itself also had glaring holes. A coup d’état happens, and Naja and the rest of the pack are...where exactly? It felt like so much was missing or skipped over entirely.
That said, I can’t call it a complete failure. The universe did expand a bit, which kept my interest enough to rate it 3 stars. I really wanted more of Pryce, though—he deserved way more page time.
I honestly don’t get how some readers think this is better than Manix, but hey, to each their own. I’m still invested enough to dive into Feral and see where this wild ride goes next.
This book was even better than the first one. I can't help it, I just love omegaverse. I love how sexually fluid it is and I absolutely love the representation. We have characters of color, a plus sized female character and basically all characters are bisexual. The ending scared the s**t out of me. I couldn't picture how all that chaos could be solved...I grew so attached to all the characters in such a short period of time and I was so scared for them. Things definitely ended in the best way possibile for this pack. I can't wait to see what changes will be brought in Maxton. I missed the knotting but book three has a lot of it so I'll definitely continue with it! I want a book with Marrick and Murphy (are those the names?) because they deserve a happily ever after more than anyone else.
I. Freaking. LOVED. This. Book!!!! When I say I was hooked, I mean I was HOOKED from beginning to end! Each chapter just made me become more and more invested until I was flying through the book. I was practicing giddy and fangirling the whole time because I was so in love with these characters, their dynamics, and everything that was happening in between. I struggled to step away from this book because I was loving it so much and I was dying to know what would happen next!
We got a small glimpse of the characters who will be the mains in the next book and, I have to say, I’m super excited! The trope associated with those characters is one of my absolute favorites and I’m so freaking hyped to see where this author takes it! I NEED the next book like yesterday y’all!
STARS!! The SMUT, the ACTION, the entire freaking book was an EXPERIENCE. 🤩
I loved how this wasn't an insta-love story. Rather, the protagonists gradually got to know one another before making their own decisions. My heart breaks for Pryce, for everything he went through and there may still be a lot of bumps along the road. The Manix community has still a long way to go before the rot festering in the community aka the corrupt Manix gets taken out.
I especially enjoyed the visits from the vampires . A lovely reunion with all the characters we love from the Dark River Days series. I am really hoping for Savannah's story next. Or perhaps the one with the feral omega. Anyway, I loved this book so much and can't wait to read more. 🥰
I love the De León pack! I loved every single one of the members in this pack. The way they came together and loved each other just melted my lil heart.
And the drama! Let me tell you the drama and the angst in this book was good good. I didn’t expect some of the things that happened. That was really nice because I can normally predict everything and anything.
I definitely recommend reading Courtland's pack story. Toodles!
It’s been a while since I read Manix. But dare I say I love Frenzy more.
I was interested to know about Courtland and his story is definitely an interesting one. I loved to read about the others aswel and go back the the manix community.
There are a lot of set ups for the future? Though I don’t see how they would all fit together since it’s al separate stories.
Solid 4⭐️ interesting world, good characters and interesting plot.
Well I gotta say, I quite enjoyed this one as well but it was not better than the first book. This one was a little too instalov-ish for me and didn't really have much angst. Not to mention, the ending felt a little rushed? Idk, it wasn't that satisfying of an ending. But other than that, it was fun and I would most likely read this again someday :)
I just found this author and I am absolutely going to be holed up reading all of her books! If you have not introduced yourself to this world then you’re missing out! I whole heartedly recommend everything about these books!
*chef’s kiss* Perfection!!! Another dip into the wild and wonderful Manix world. This is Courtland’s story. (Court being Naja from Manix’s older brother. ) With more MM and no MPreg, Frenzy brings together a reformed Cartel kingpin Alpha, his most loyal Beta wolf companion, a rescued male Omega, a trustworthy Maxton Beta, and a surprise female Omega. Lots of love, some steamy sexy times, a few good action scenes, a dash of heartbreak. Grace’s solution to the female Omega issue was just brilliant. And it was so good to see so many familiar faces pop up. 💜
