I really loved this book because it was so different compared to other shifter books. However, once Rachel finds out she is mated to Dain the book starts to stall. I think it would have been better to separate the book into two. The first one being dedicated to wining Iridian and then the second to the journey of deciding to stay with Dain.

I really liked the story, but it was long and some chapters in the first half of the story were not necessary. I feel like the story was actually 2 stories instead of one. The first one being the game, the contest and the second being the upcoming fight with Nadia. Right now the story feels too long. But overall I really liked the shifter story and its installment of magic and a curse. It is different than other shifter tales and that makes it interesting. the second half of the book is exciting as the tension builds and more details are revealed. I especially love the interaction between Rachel and Dain. They are both stubborn and like the chase. Their twisted mind/love games are intriguing and definitely build the tension between them. Who will win in the end? It's a question throughout the book for both games.
I loved this book when I started it last summer, 52 chapter had been completed at the time. The author is now on chapter 160, her updated have been slow and messy. She’s mixed up the names of characters from this book with others she is writing, as well as putting out filler chapters weekly for months that don’t bring much to the story. Thankfully in the last few month she’s out out more than 1 chapter a week but sadly some of those chapters have left me confused as to what’s actually going on. Maybe reading it as a whole once edited would change my perspective but I’m so frustrated at this point I don’t know if it’s even worth finishing.
