Julie and Sinead have been best friends since meeting as teenagers in school. The novel skips most of the teenage years landing the girls in their twenties and covering their careers and love lives. Julie trains as a chef and it is there that she meets her husband, she wants a family and a nice home but once achieved life isn't all she had planned it to be.Sinead is career orientated, she wants to climb the corporate ladder and at sometime get married and have kids but that is for later in life, or so she thinks. The book explores what the women want in life and what fate hands them and how if they could turn back the clock what they would really wish for. The title is misleading, althought a short paragraph talks about three wishes, there is no genie or magic involved, just down to earth true life. Another excellent book from Poolbeg and another cracking Irish Author!
Love this book. You got to see two friends with completely opposite lives and how much their friendship helps each other in the most difficult times in their lives. The ending was a tad bit predictable though and almost annoying but still a great read.
