This was a great final book of this series! Lots of action, and we get to see all the great characters again. I’d definitely recommend this book, and the whole series!
Loved the entire series! Updated review after I had time to think... The only thing I was a bit disappointed about was the lack of exploration of main characters' mate bonds. I feel as though relationships were put on the back burner and forgotten about. I wanted to read more about why they chose each other, and yet, it was never really brought up again after books 1-2. Did Rone and Vi ever actually complete the mate bond? It was so important the first few books, but then it seemed to be forgotten about all together. What happened to Vi's father? Why is there such a heavy focus on children, but we don't even know what happened to the ones in the human realm? What about the human worlds supernatural group/leaders and Rone? How can they all really lead so many different kingdoms, when some are not even of this world, and be with each other? Overall, books 1-3 and 4-6 felt like different series. It was a was a huge leap. I just have a lot more questions now than answers.
I still highly recommend the fun series :)

Oh this finale was so amazing and so worth the wait!!!! I have loved every book in this series but this last one that brought it all together was just awesome. So much supernatural action and adventure, all of my favourite characters in so much trouble lol and they found their way out of it eventually even with a few twists and turns. There was so much to love about this story.
This is it. Dragon War is the final book in the Royal Quest series and the end of Violet's, Rone's, Risa's, and Micha's story. The story was fabulous, it was fast-paced and had a few twists and turns that surprised me, including a lot of juicy royal family secrets and the fact that they apparently have chimera, aka other magical creatures in this world which I do not remember. I would have loved getting more information about them and think it would be a good opportunity for another series set in the same world.
Anyway, Violet has really grown into her dragon and as Rone's mate. She's helping him think through decisions and has become more comfortable in Draesonnia, she actually becomes a fighter and it is never more apparent than in this book. I can see Violet, taking charge with heart and compassion but not afraid to stand for those who need it, I see Violet growing into a great leader. I just wish there was more about the water dragons and that some more scenes were set in Ura. Violet isn't the only one that's could be a great leader, with Violet by his side Rone has grown into an excellent leader, he's stopped being reactional and started thinking things through, he listens to suggestions and isn't afraid to help others or ask for help. Rone has always had a lot of heart, was very protective but he also had a temper and just reacted to things but Rone has changed, done a lot of growing in this series and it shows.
As for Raisa and Micah, the attraction between those two is unbelievable and Raisa is in absolute denial about her feelings but they work together great and they are the other core part of this war. Micah and Raisa each brought something to this story peacing together elements, clues, needed. Micah really struggled with being apart such a horrible bloodline but he also has proven time and time again that he is trustworthy and more than powerful enough to earn respect. The four of them together made for a fantastic team and truly helped with the war.
Draessonia has been through a lot in this series and I hate to say it Virhan was a little bit right, the mages should have never been enslaved, even if it wasn't as barbaric as it could have been, enslaving another people is never a good idea. However, the hostile takeover is the kick start Draessonia needs to make changes for the better. The part of the story was the babies, Tor and Nura. I love the baby dragons and I'm glad to see them again. This story also delved deeper into a few new characters and it was interesting seeing them. I liked Violet's minders and would have liked to see them more. The running theme seems to be more, I just need a little more but that's just me. Ashley and Kelly have done an excellent job with this series. The fast pace, secrets, action, taunting, attacks, and mystery all made for a good read and the excellent characters didn't hurt.
Dragon War was the epic conclusion to an epic series that centered on dragons and mages, was filled with magic, had deadly politics, rich in history, lush in descriptions, and had a touch of romance. The story was truly creative with memorable characters, I loved it. While this is goodbye, I'm so glad the story ended in a HEA. Dragon War was everything I could have hoped for in the Royal Quest series conclusion.
I was so sad to see the ending of Dragon Crown as I didn’t want it to end. I was so sad to see that I had to wait for Dragon War’s release in January 2022. So imagine how ecstatic I was to see that Dragon War was being released a whole month early. I couldn’t wait to dive into this world once again.
I love the baby dragons. The dragons that Violet and Rone adopted. Well their not exactly babies anymore but they are still so cute and lovable. Violet and Rone make the best parents.
Dragon War is told from multiply characters' points of view. It is told from Violet, Rone, Raisa, and Micah’s points of view. I love getting the story from different characters' points. I like knowing what each character is experiencing and thinking about any given moment or situation.
Violet, Rone, Raisa, and Micah all set out in search of iku, a beast, to help save their world. Their journey was a long hard one with lots of battles and challenges, one after the other that kept the pages turning.
I am so sad to see the end of all the characters and the baby dragons. I hope to see more of these characters in other stories and worlds.
I enjoyed The Royal Quest dragon series so much that I would highly recommend each and every book in the series to all fans of fantasy, dragons, shifters, and magic. One-click your copy of Dragon War today!
This is the sixth and final book in the Royal Quest series. I am really sad that this series has ended. I have enjoyed following Violet, Rone, Raisa and Micah on their journey and their quest to ensure Draessonia doesn’t fall to their enemy.
I really liked how the authors allowed the story to unfold within this series from different points of view as each chapter is told by a different protagonist. Some authors don’t do this type of thing very well but I’m happy to say that the authors of this series have it down pat. As a reader I was never confused as to which protagonist was speaking.
Throughout this last book I found myself in tears a few times and the story is definitely a nail biting experience. If you loved the first five books then this book will bring a satisfying ending to the storyline. If you haven’t read the other books in the series then you owe it to yourself to do so if you like fantasy, shifter stories, dragons, or action and adventure with a little romance thrown in.

Danger, Tension, Love & War!😵😳😭💥 A Gripping 4.5 Star Finale.🌟 Dragon War (Royal Quest #6)
A happy ending looks a long way off almost to the last!😳 The Pressure Rhone put on Violet, verbally, at the last moment really bugged me, it felt like the old Rhone.😡 Virhan was the absolute most vile he's ever been in this book!😭😡💔 Raisa & Micah are great.😍 The two children are just so adorably precocious & I really grew to love Nizzi, the minder.🌊
This is a truly fitting series finale. It's compelling & full of building tension. There are moments of stolen levity & love, that bring some reprieve for the blood pressure.😍💘 The extreme depravity of Virhan in this was shocking, loathsome narcissist!😡 We learn something amazing about his planned army & his they're created.👻
A series well worth your time & effort. I enjoyed it even more once it moved into the new realm & left earth. A real light, epic fantasy to keep your blood pressure thundering.🌟
I ended up just skimming the book after about 40%. It was so repetitive and I really found Micah's relationship cringy. The constant mention of scents is way over used and I just couldn't tolerate it anymore. Actually the entire book was just cringe;
'“Whoop whoop!” Violet yelled, and everyone else cheered as Rone and I shared a bro moment."
Doesn't that just make your lip curl? I really couldn't stand the writing in the last few books but this was by far the worst. I also hate how the authors cling to the babies. Like you can't be all about them one minute and then hand them over to a babysitter the next for 12 chapters to keep them out of the way just to bring them back for 1 chapter and repeat the process.
I'm just glad this is over. I wouldn't have continued if I hadn't already bought all the books in the series. That's my bad but this series should have wrapped up like 3 books ago.
This book was the best ending for this amazing series. Violet, Rone, Raisa and Micah are trying to save all of the Dragons and Mages still loyal to the kingdom. Battling against Virhan and his monsters along with some of the disgruntled Dragon kings. With Violet raising the forgotten kingdom of the Water Dragons they uncover one thing that can defeat the deadly Nastrond. The characters are strong and the friendships are amazing. The story is unique and from start to finish this book will keep you enthralled. A book and series all Dragon lovers need to read.
Dragon War (Royal Quest#6) cowritten by Ashley McLeo and Kelly N. Jane, is the final book of the series and I definitely recommend. In this book War and darkness descend on Draessonia as King Rone must keep the realm together and Violet searches for her place among the water dragons, who were thought to be extinct. The enemy grows stronger by the day but dragons never go down without a fight. Whatever the outcome Draessonia will be changed forever. This great conclusion, along with other books in the series, are available on Amazon

You still following Rone & Violet but their to their ears in battles and conspiracies and politics. The story flow is up speed. And i enjoyed & loved every single thing in this book. Its a same this is the last book in this series. But i defently going to read more books of ashley and Kelly N jane. I LOVED THIS BOOK SERIES A LOT...
Great series! This was a very good end to a really good series. One of the things I liked was that the story was told from various characters viewpoints and flowed very well. The authors did an awesome job with that. It also had quite a few surprises throughout but made sense sense the way it played out. This was one for those series that I kept reading because it was good but hated finishing it because it was good! Very well done!
My heart is full of joy for this fantastic finale but, at the same time, sad to say good bye to my beloved characters!!! 😭🥰 #bittersweetfeeling I loved every minute of this well written installment, as it takes us from tension-filled moments to our expected HEA!!! #theangstisreal Amazing job ladies, from start to finish, this is one of the best series I have read and will forever hold a piece of my heart!!! ❤
Although it is a great series ending, there is enough openings left for more books to follow. A lot of action in this book with the great war taking place, new alliances were made and the 'bad guys' were defeated. Lots of tension, sad moments and elation and some romance what else could you want in a book.
This is a very satisfying end to the series. Seeing how the characters have grown and developed throughout the story has been very entertaining. My favorite dragon shifter moment will always be imagining Rone wearing baby carriers and taking care of Tor and Nura. I'm sad to see it end but happy I got to read it!
The perfect culmination to an epic, romantic fantasy series. As sorry as I am to bid farewell to these characters I couldn’t wish for a better ending. But don’t take my word for it. Dive into a series that will keep you spellbound from start through to the end of book six Dragon War!
Dragons.magic and war! The Kingdom of Draessonia must fight Virhan and his monsters as they try to take control. King Rone must get all the different areas to work together to stop Virhan and his evil!
There was so much build up in the first books regarding what was happening in the human world and then literally nothing in the end about it or the hatchlings that were left there or about Virhan’s followers who don’t know he’s gone yet?

I really enjoyed the development of the characters in this series. It went s little long for my taste though. I feel some of the battle scenes could have been shortened.
It took me longer to finish this book than it should have because I didn't want it to end. Violet and Rone's journey was fantastic and I could read another whole series about them.
