Hearts: Great Tynecastle Tales

Rate this book
Tynecastle Park, the home of Heart of Midlothian Football Club, has been the venue for some of the greatest games in Scottish football history, from European matches and league clashes to relegation battles, cup ties, and fierce derby showdowns with city rivals Hibs. But at the start of the 21st century, as the club plunged into a debt of almost £20 million, it seemed that the famous ground would have to be sold. In this sensational account, the authors reveal the fatal mistakes that forced Hearts into financial difficulties. Having travelled to Lithuania to interview Vladimir Romanov, they paint an intriguing portrait of the man who replaced the controversial Chris Robinson as the biggest single shareholder. Great Tynecastle Tales is also a celebration of the great club and its famous ground. It features some rarely seen photographs which showcase the famous stadium and the great players who have graced its turf, and contains the biggest series of interviews ever compiled with Hearts players past and present.
